The cellar or the owner? He was very unfriendly. Not just to us but also to many other guests. Orders not taken correctly and then wrong items brought. He kept rolling his eyes. That's why we didn't complain. I can well imagine that he would have thrown undms out the door. So I was there for the first and last time. It's a shame because the food was sensational.

Well, the taste of the food was satisfactory to good. The service took a while, but the staff was reduced due to Corona. You just have to accept it. The effort was certainly evident. Definitely worth another try. Second attempt on 08/07/22: Fast, attentive service, large and tasty portions, prices appropriate to the situation but not exorbitant. Unconventional Hessian creations. You can definitely go here again. The second attempt was followed by another and it wasn't the last. House full and still quick service. Today they have gone overboard with the speed of service. It happened so quickly that it was too fast. But again it was very tasty.

Friendly conditions, delicious food

Hello, I had dinner here with my partner yesterday. The service was very friendly. I ordered a Frankfurter Schnitzel and a side salad. Wouldn't be a problem. Later I just got a garden salad for 4.90 euros. Ok, the salad itself was very good. The meal took 45 minutes but there was a lot going on. Overall it was good, but it didn't convince me to come again. But everyone can make up their own mind. Best regards

The food was good. There were traditional Hessian dishes. If you value large portions, you will definitely find a good price-performance ratio here. The service was very friendly, even though it was busy. Unfortunately, the beer garden is on a street, which I personally don't find pleasant.

We were there with 12 people, almost everyone was extremely disappointed. The completely overwhelmed waiter was extremely grumpy and rude to individual guests. Often many glasses were empty and drinks were forgotten.... The last guest was insulted when paying because, as a non-drinker, he didn't want to pay for a "leftover" beer... The meat was okay, but overall it was maximum canteen quality. Schnitzel with mushy ready-made sauce etc... A burger was cut up in front of the guests because they weren't even sure what was being delivered. The only bright spot is the always charming boss, who tried to somehow salvage the situation, but this was hardly possible due to the large number of negative impressions. It's a shame - actually a good restaurant with a cozy atmosphere inside and a nice Hessian concept. Unfortunately, with a rude waiter and a bad cook, the stars won't work...

Delicious German cuisine with good value for money and very friendly service. Since the restaurant is always busy, a reservation is definitely recommended. The homemade lemonade is also highly recommended

Our schnitzels were of good meat quality, tender and juicy. A little more seasoning and it would have been perfect. Unfortunately, the outer beer garden looks pretty desolate and appears unkempt. We became aware of the restaurant through the Schlemmerblock. Unfortunately, when I paid, the waitress didn't point out to me that I had accidentally given ten euros too much. A pity.

Unfortunately it was nothing again. The waiter is completely over-excited, the chef hobbles around as a service person, there are always new faces in the kitchen. So is the food. Changing and poor quality. Visually it looks good, but the taste is standard.

We often use the Schlemmerblock to try out new places. We weren't disappointed! The people were really nice, even the other guests were friendly. ;) We were well served and the schnitzels were great. The portion was plentiful and the apple pie was also great. We'll be happy to come back even without a gourmet block. :)

We ate here last week with the Schlemmerblock voucher. Otherwise, we as Frankfurters would certainly not have become aware of the beautiful, rustic inn. The service was 1a. Super polite, very quick. :-) The burgers are great! We'd love to come back - when we're nearby.

Inconspicuous from the outside but my absolute favorite in Nidderau. You can have a good meal here!!

Today we went to the Hessenschmaus with our bowling club. Everyone was very happy with their food. The rump steak was perfectly grilled, the asparagus wasn't too soft and the schnitzel was crispy. The pepper sauce on the pork loin was also very good. The portions were large and we were more than full. The current asparagus menu is particularly recommended. The combination of asparagus, rump steak and hollandaise sauce is very tasty. Unfortunately, the asparagus season is almost over, so you should get there as soon as possible if you want to try it. But the regular dishes that were ordered were also very, very good. The drinks were also good. There were hearts on our coffees and hot chocolates. The staff was very friendly, as was the owner. Our club will host the Christmas party there. We will be back, the restaurant is recommended without any ifs and buts.

Great nice service and good food. When the weather is good, you can sit wonderfully on the spacious terrace.

Service has deteriorated enormously. You first sit down and order drinks only to be told that there are only 5 left on the limited menu of 8 dishes. It's a shame you lose customers and recommendations.

I am revising my first rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. Reason, I ate the veal liver for 19.90 euros and was really disappointed. A small piece, partially chewy and burnt. The portion looked quite large on the plate at first, but it was the onions. For the price you can't recommend the food. .......................................... I was very pleasantly surprised. The meal was excellent. It was Thursday and schnitzel day. All schnitzels for just 15 euros including a nice side salad. The restaurant is comfortably furnished. Unfortunately there was only a slimmed down menu compared to the one posted on the internet. All drinks were also missing from the menu. It wasn't a problem to get the main menu, which also listed the drinks that were available. It's really hard to understand why the slimmed-down menu doesn't also list the drinks. We definitely enjoyed it and would love to come back.

Die Lebensmittel Industrie mit allen E‘s ist hier überproportional vertreten. Alles schmeckt nach Kraft und Maggie. Fiese Hollondaise aus der Tüte.selbst das Brot ist vorgeschnitten von der Metro/ Aldi/ Fegro…..

Food is great, despite a communion party we were able to get seats and were served courteously, recommended at any time

We recently went there to eat schnitzel on a “normal” day - and we were thrilled! On this day we were informed about schnitzel day on Thursdays. Soon after, we made a reservation on a Thursday. The schnitzels weren't half as good. The service was inattentive and distracted - and despite the empty restaurant, all guests who appeared were crammed into a corner and only received cutlery with their food when asked (really now!). So - insider tip: if you want to eat a good schnitzel, don't go there on schnitzel day!

A nice, quaint shop with great German cuisine! I particularly liked the friendliness of the staff. Whether it's schnitzel in winter or a cool wheat in summer, the atmosphere inside and outside is great and the taste is great! Clear recommendation!

What could we try: Hand cheese, garlic mushrooms, pepper cream schnitzel & green sauce. Hand cheese (grade 3-) Almost no caraway and it felt like it was barely pickled (at least it was still relatively solid). Onion ok. What do you want to evaluate when it comes to hand cheese...everyone does it differently. But that there was no cumin... Knobi mushrooms (grade 3+) The quantity of mushrooms was great. Lots of garlic. Maybe you can pickle the mushrooms a bit or fry them (but that's just a personal thought). Pepper and cream schnitzel (grade 3-) First of all: The animal didn't die in vain... Was a bit stringy. Sauce was good. The pepper taste was good (it can easily be too much pepper). Maybe a little more salt, but that would be complaining at a high level and salt is on the table here. Green sauce (my wife says 2 to 3) Sauce good (fresh herbs). 1 egg = quartered. Big potato. My wife says that the core wasn't cooked through and it was a bit salty (but it worked)

The food was really good there. I've never eaten such tender rump steak. One star deducted because of the ambience. It is quite dark in the restaurant because of the dark wooden ceiling and the seating has seen better days. Everything is too old and oldscool. A renovation would do well here. The outdoor area is large enough and also looks very nice. I would like to eat there again. One more tip: every Thursday is schnitzel day there.

We ate schnitzel there on a Thursday (schnitzel day). The pepper cream schnitzel was exactly as I requested it, simply perfect. The service was super friendly.

Good quality, friendly staff. However, according to the advertising, what is supposed to be regional Hessian, with schnitzel (which was not available when we visited at 7 p.m.), burgers and salad, is inexplicable to me. If you are there, you can recommend it with a clear conscience, but it is not worth the 40 km journey.

Great - food came super quickly and was incredibly tasty, compliments to the kitchen. Rarely eaten as fresh and delicious as here. The service was also super attentive and friendly. We'll be back 👍🏻😊

Schmackhafte Küche und guter Service. Immer wieder gerne. Inhaberin ist leider nicht immer freundlich. Schade ist auch, daß nach der Pandemie keine Hunde im Restaurant gestattet sind.

Wonderful atmosphere, very family oriented with many options for a romantic setting. Reservations is recommended for days where the menu is special and the group is four.

Wir waren heute spontan im Hessenschmaus. Vorab das Essen war super lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und werden gerne wieder kommen. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir haben gut gegessen! Leider fehlte der Rotkohl beim Gericht. Wir bekamen aber Salat stattdessen und etwas später eine Portion gemischtes Gemüse.

Eine sehr leckere, landes typische Küche. Service war sehr gut und das Essen auch lecker. Leider war mein Essen (das Fleisch) nicht richtig heiß. Aber sonst alles gut.

Wir waren hier zu viert Essen gewesen. Das Schnitzel mit grüner Soße war lecker gewesen - Nur leider viel zu wenig grüne Soße weswegen wir nachordern mussten und sogar dafür noch 2€ extra zahlen mussten. Schade. Der Burger (siehe Bild) war sehr lecker gewesen. Lediglich das Fleisch war zusammengepresst und schmeckte dementsprechend. Da würde ich mich über einen selbsgemachten freuen. Das Ambiente ist schön, jedoch wenn alle Tische belegt sind (so wie bei uns) ist es sehr laut und das gemeinsame Sprechen am Tisch fällt schwer.

Leckere Empfehlung für Freunde der Hausmannskost.

Atmosphäre gleicht einem Großraumbüro. Wir saßen an einem zweiertisch zwischen vierertischen. Nicht sehr vorteilhaft. Das Schnitzel und die Bratkartoffeln waren mäßig. Die Lendchen waren gut. Die Burger sehen gut aus und werde sicherlich noch einen probieren. Meine Frage um die Möglichkeit zum Umsetzen wurde abgelehnt. Der Tisch wäre reserviert. Den ganzen Abend kam niemand mehr an den Tisch. Solides Restaurant, aber viel Luft nach oben. Keine Weiterempfehlung.

Update: nach einem erneuten Besuch freue ich mich, meine alte Rezension revidieren zu können. Alles war jetzt wirklich 1a, es gibt keinen Grund mehr zu Beanstandungen! Die ganze Aufmacher des Drumherums (Homepage, Fotos der Speisen, Name) vermittelt einen höherwertigen Eindruck als man letztendlich auf den Teller bekommt. Mein Fisch war von keiner guten Qualität und zudem auch noch trocken/hart. Die Soße machte einen "fertigen" Eindruck, wobei ich mich da aber nicht festnageln möchte. Die Burger-Brötchen 0815 und leider nicht auf dem Grill kurz angetoastet. Unter´m Strich sicherlich keine Vollkastrophe, man sollte aber keine zu hohen Ansprüche stellen. Mit Schlemmerblock einfach mal ausprobieren...

Einen Steinwurf von der Windecker Altstadt sowie vom Bahnhof Nidderau-Windecken entfernt. Leckeres Essen mit einigen fleischlosen Alternativen. Habe im Laufe der Jahre mehrfach kleine und große Ausflugsgruppen zum Hessenschmaus gelotst. Es gab stets zufriedene Gesichter (und Mägen).

Wir waren dort mit der Familie essen, leider war der Service sehr chaotisch. Es wurden ein Essen vergessen und kamm erst als die anderen fertig waren zu esse .Auf Getränke mussten wir leider auch warten, vorallem wenn mann noch etwas nachbestellen möchte. Geschmack war solala

Haben und aufgrund des Schlemmerblocks hier reserviert. Einmal Frankfurter Schnitzel und einmal Burger. Da meine Partnerin es nicht mag wenn das Fleisch noch rosa ist, haben wir die Bedienung eindringlich darauf hingewiesen, den Burger komplett durch zu braten. Als das Essen kam haben wir festgestellt, der Burger war noch rosa. An sich nicht wild, die Bedienung drauf hingewiesen und um Nachbesserung gebeten. 5 Minuten später kam dann jemand raus und sagte vor anderen Kunden: wir machen einen neuen Burger, aber ihr Burger war durch! Hier hat uns die Bedienung vor anderen Kunden als doof und schuldig dargestellt. Welchen Grund hätten wir gehabt, den Burger zurück zu geben, wäre er wunschgemäß zubereitet worden? Das macht doch gar keinen Sinn und ist einfach unprofessionelles verhalten. Das Schnitzel war insgesamt in Ordnung, bis auf ein paar verbrannte Stellen. Alles in allem akzeptabel aber auch nichts besonderes. Der Service sollte noch ein wenig geschult werden im Umgang mit dem Kunden. Unser Nachbartisch hat nach 15 Minuten warten ohne Bedienung das Lokal genervt wieder verlassen. Der sauergespritzte war leider sehr stark verdünnt und war sehr hell. Hier lieber Pur bestellen wenn ihr Apfelwein mögt. Fazit, essen war akzeptabel, aber wir werden wahrscheinlich nicht wieder kommen.

Essen, Bedienung und Preise sind einwandfrei. Gerne Wiedermal.

Leckeres Essen ohne Diskussion. Geheihmpfelunung....die Burger 😋😋😋...schöner Bierchen aber auch schönes Innesambiente.

Immer wenn neue Gäste das Lokal betreten ruft die Bedienung (anstatt die Gäste abzuholen) von hinten durch den ganzen Gastraum in Richtung Türe „HABEN SIE RESERVIERT?“ „AUF WELCHEN NAMEN?“. Sorry, aber Service beginnt an der Tür. Weder ich möchte beim Essen so eine Bahnhofsatmosphäre haben, noch fühlen sich Gäste wohl, ihren eigenen Namen in den Gastraum rein zu rufen. Ich empfinde das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis daher als nicht ideal. Bratkartoffeln waren etwas fad, aber der Rest solide und gut. Aufgrund des „drumherum“ fühlen wir uns aber vorerst nicht zum erneuten Besuch angeregt.

Es war wirklich ein toller Abend. Trotz vollem Haus sehr nette Bedienung und das Essen war wirklich lecker 😋 Sehr gerne wieder.

Wir gehen gerne dort hin, die Karte ist vielseitig und die Zusatzangebote immer seeeehr lecker. Freundliches und beständiges Servicepersonal bestätigen eine solide Geschäftsbasis.

Ich habe am 22. Juli meinen Geburtstag mit 19 Gästen gefeiert. Alles war bestens vorbereitet. Der Service war umsichtig. Die Qualität der Speisen war wie immer sehr gut. Gerne wieder. Vielen Dank an die Geschäftsführung.

Wir waren scheinbar im falschen Lokal? Oder die unglaublich " nette " Dame die uns im unglaublich schönen Biergarten( Ironie) bedient hat, hatte mitsamt Koch einen schlechten Tag. Also echt, da gibt es wirklich bessere Lokalitäten. Aber über Geschmack lässt sich streiten......

Der Spargel dort ist unübertroffen! Leider haben sie nur gekochten Schinken und keinen Rohen Schinken im Angebot - Aber dennoch Lecker!

Aufgrund guten Wetters hatten wir im Biergarten Platz genommen. Hinsichtlich Corona wurde vorschriftsmäßig vorgegangen. Gegessen haben wir Jägerschnitzel und Zwiebelschnitzel mit Pommes. Die Schnitzel waren saftig, und frisch aus der Pfanne, die Soße war gut abgeschmeckt, die Zwiebel auf den Punkt. Der Service war höflich. Alles in allem werden wir wiederkommen.
