Hannibal Landhausküche in Nidderau

I've been to Hannibal several times over the past few years and have always been quite satisfied. The food is solid, but the menu lacks some variety – and by that, I don't just mean a different sauce for the schnitzel 😉. One positive thing is that they always have sweet potato fries, for example, although they're not officially on the menu yet. The staff is friendly to very friendly. However, we regularly notice that the later the evening and the fewer guests there are, the less often they ask if you'd like to order something. Yesterday, for example, we had to wait at least 10-15 minutes. This unfortunately gives the impression that they're trying to get rid of guests quickly. You can also notice differences in the cocktails – depending on the bartender. Sometimes they're too strong, sometimes too weak. A while ago, there was even almost nothing but ice in the glass. When I asked about it, I simply received the answer that this was "normal." However, that doesn't match my previous experiences there, and I would have preferred a better response and a new cocktail in such a case. One negative thing I've noticed recently is that the two-person tables are now so close together that even people of normal weight are struggling to get up from the bench without almost landing directly on their neighbor's plate. This significantly diminishes the comfort and the feeling of well-being. Table reservations haven't always worked reliably in the past; once, they even forgot about it completely. Yesterday, however, it worked without a hitch. Conclusion: Overall, a good restaurant where you can eat well. With a bit more variety on the menu, consistently good cocktail quality, more attentive service, a bit more space at the tables, and a more reliable reservation system, it would be even better.

There was once the airline Sabena, which was often characterized as "such a bad experience never again." The experience in this restaurant was unfortunately similar: the first server only brought four of five drinks, one of which was incorrect. The missing one only arrived after 30 minutes and a complaint. The next server took the food order after 60 minutes! After another 60 minutes and another complaint, it turned out that the order had been forgotten. 150 minutes: finally something to eat. Never again.

I ordered green sauce with potatoes and four half eggs. Can't really go wrong. I got potatoes with a shot glass full of green sauce. It tasted okay, but hey guys. Look at other restaurants where they serve a soup bowl full of green sauce. This dish is definitely not recommended.

Yes, you can sit outside. My German Shepherd was given water without being asked. Very friendly. Pictures: It not only looked appealing, it also tasted great. Thank you.

Great knuckle of pork, but only on Wednesdays. The staff was very friendly; we sometimes had to wait a bit because it was very busy. But it's a pleasure.

Great cuisine, a wonderful ambiance, and outstanding and extremely friendly service. Not cheap, but absolutely worth the price, given the high quality. The next visit is definitely in order...

The service is completely unreasonable and extremely arrogant. You have to wait over twenty minutes for just one bottle of water, and then several waiters rudely tell the guests that they're too impatient and not suited to the restaurant and should go to McDonald's. Even worse, the guests have to pay the full price even though they haven't received a bottle of water or any food on their table; otherwise, they won't be allowed to leave the restaurant. I usually tip 10%, but this time, not a cent.

I've eaten at Hannibal many times in the evenings; the menu is entirely to my taste. I recommended the restaurant for a lunch invitation. We checked the website for opening hours and also looked at the menu again to see if there were any restrictions. Once we got there, we discovered that the menu was completely different for lunch. Since we had already ordered drinks, we stayed. That's very annoying, but it can happen. What I can't understand at all, however, is that they didn't accommodate us in any way. Lunch includes a cream soup, which we would have liked to exchange for asparagus soup. The waiter had to ask, but was told that it was unfortunately not possible. We told him to please ask again and that we would be happy to pay an additional charge. He also passed on the information that an additional item was missing from the website. But again, the exchange was simply declined. What a shame, customer service = 0, it would have been so easy...

A wonderful restaurant in every respect. We received a friendly welcome and were served attentively and courteously. The menu focuses on a few interestingly interpreted dishes, each more exciting than the others, offering something a little different from the run-of-the-mill restaurant fare. We had the oven-baked flatbread with hand cheese and cream cheese, spaetzle with wild garlic pesto, and steak with asparagus and potato-cauliflower mash. There was nothing wrong with any of the dishes; the cooking was of the highest standard. Many thanks to Kim in the waiting room, who looked after our well-being. Access to the restrooms is a bit awkward, and the music is a bit loud, but not a big deal. We'll definitely be back! :)

The service was a disaster, there was hardly anything going on and yet we had to wait until drinks were taken. The waitress preferred to talk to her colleague. After the drinks were empty, we were no longer asked if we wanted any more. The food wasn't good either, the burgers were so dry and boring. You don't need to go there anymore.

The roast beef was very tasty. The fries were a little over-seasoned but otherwise good. Service was friendly but could be more attentive. We waited a long time until we could order the food and we also had to wait a long time for the bill. Other guests felt the same way. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice, but the music was a bit too loud. There are enough parking spaces available.

The knuckle Wednesday without the knuckle. An absolute disappointment for me. Instead I tried the schnitzel and I have to say: also disappointing. The meat wasn't particularly tasty, the fries were very over-seasoned and the only greens on the plate were a few sprinkles of parsley. The staff made a nice impression. However, ordering the food took a whopping 15 minutes, even though the restaurant was only half full. Atmosphere it is appealing and modern. The music and the overall acoustics are consistently uncomfortably loud. There are plenty of parking spaces available.

The food was so disgusting, there wasn't enough choice on the menu and the price-performance ratio was terrible. €20 for a loaf of bread that tasted and looked disgusting. Wanted to return the food, but it could only be exchanged for a coffee on the house. A decent restaurant should prioritize the needs of the customers, but that wasn't the case here. I don't recommend anyone to go there.

There were no knuckles on knuckle Wednesday. Instead I got the Big Holle which was good, but the lack of a knuckle was a disappointment

With all your sympathy for the establishment, and despite some lovely evenings in the country house kitchen: If the opening times are "until midnight (and sometimes a little longer)" according to the notice and menu, you shouldn't have to negotiate for one last beer at the mercy of the service on a Saturday shortly before 2300. If the young people have actually been instructed accordingly, of course they can't do anything about it - but the management of the house should ask themselves whether it is the right thing to do such behavior on the back of the service.

We had registered for the Christmas brunch with 5 people, the breakfast was still acceptable (not a big selection) but okay then the lunch there was 3 times meat and 2 times fish, the meat was totally tough and almost inedible (this was also complained to the waitress Kim She said she couldn't do anything about it, which is true.) I told her to tell the chef to give back his certificate as a chef because he apparently didn't learn that meat shouldn't be kept warm forever otherwise it would become tough I feel sorry for KIM that she had to listen to the same thing over and over again from many guests. I asked for the manager and got the answer that he is not there today. We will be careful not to go to the restaurant again. It was an expensive experience at over €220

Delicious brunch! Good selection, good service. Price OK for the performance. Ambience good. The 'hose' has been transformed into something pretty with a lot of style

German dishes are exotically designed, but always delicious. Great promotions and parties on holidays.

Duck foie gras? Did I read correctly? A location that advertises to me regional and organic, but then serves food made from immeasurable animal suffering?! I would have liked more foresight! No thanks! I thought we were already so progressive here that we could do without such animal cruelty and were aware of the suffering that a duck or goose is subjected to during “stuffing”? We have eaten at Hannibal many times. This time we had a family celebration there with 12 people. I have to say it's simply great, from the uncomplicated arrangement in advance to the menu to the friendly and attentive service and the delicious food. We were warmly welcomed. The food was served to us at the same time for each course. The pumpkin soup and the roast beef were the absolute highlight. Even after a spontaneous arrangement, Hannibal decorated our table with our decorations. We had an unforgettable and completely lovely stay. Price-performance ratio is completely fine. Thank you very much, dear Hannibal team, for this successful family celebration.

We were at “Hannibal Landhausküche” last night and were 100% satisfied with both the quality of the food and the quality of the service. We will come again, thank you very much

A great evening in a great restaurant. The ambience of the country house kitchen on the ground floor is a mixture of country house looks paired with modern accents. Neither kitschy nor intrusive, a perfect feel-good mix for me. The music is not too loud, not too quiet and the noise level is surprisingly limited when the house is almost full. The menu has a few surprises in store. There are the usual suspects but also offers that I have never seen before. For example, the Nidderauer Ofenfladen, a mixture of pizza and tarte flambée garnished with white sausage, mountain cheese, sour cream and sweet mustard. The whole thing is perfectly arranged and extremely rounded in taste. The bowls and sandwiches also look great and taste great. Next time I'll have to try the canned fish; that sounds bizarre; I just have to have it :-) There was no reason to complain about all four starters and main courses. Our waitress Kim was in a great mood, stopped by again and again, offered advice and accompanied us perfectly throughout the evening. The drinks were delivered promptly and the main courses were also brought to the table together. Even at the end, when almost no one was there, there was still time for a little chat about the food and the capacity to sit outside in the summer, etc. Keep it up Kim, that was great. In simple words: A gem in a dreary shopping center environment that we will visit regularly.

Today we went to the country house kitchen for the breakfast buffet. It was very disappointing! You had to bring cutlery to the table yourself, the waitresses weren't on their toes at all. And at 9 a.m. there wasn't even much going on. If you order coffee, no milk is offered, you should have given that when ordering. An explanation from the waitress would have been desirable. Ordered a coffee later and asked again after 20 minutes and after 40 minutes whether the coffee had been forgotten. Unfortunately this coffee didn't arrive before the bill. Drink orders generally took forever. Unfortunately, this also means that you make little sales. When asked again about the forgotten coffee when paying, all I received was a short sorry. So this was the last visit to the country house kitchen!

The breakfast was delicious, the service was a bit inattentive. The toilets were so disgusting that I almost regurgitated my breakfast. Insects, broken wallpaper, dust, limescale, dirt and a completely dirty hand dryer. This doesn't come from just not cleaning once...

The toilets are unbelievably bad. There are 2 cabins for two restaurants and 2 urinals for the men. A urinal was blocked with vomit and smelled strongly of urine. Even the good service doesn't help

The food was delicious and the service was just great

Were there for the first time. Service, food and prices are perfectly fine. The only thing with the toilets is a small to medium drawback. You first have to take an elevator to the top floor and then there are only 2 toilets for the ladies.

Beautifully designed outdoor area for eating or drinking. The waitresses are very attentive and very nice. The drinks were served very quickly. The food was also served very quickly. I had ordered a Hannibal citizen. This cost 16.80 EUR. Not exactly cheap, but 300g of meat will fill you up. Overall a very tasty and tasty burger.

Hannibal has slacked off quite a bit. Hand cheese ok, butter expired. Veggie burger = cheap finished product. Cocktails are a complete rip off. 9.50 for a maitai. Price would be ok if there had been alcohol in it too. But too expensive for juice. Have already been disappointed several times and it seems that they focus more on quantity than quality. We won't be coming back.

Wo soll man anfangen? Ca. 5 Minuten gewartet, bis man zur Kenntnis genommen wurde - ok. „Wollen Sie etwas zu trinken bestellen?“ Meine Frau, etwas unentschlossen, wollte noch etwas Bedenkzeit, aber die Speisekarte hätten wir gerne. 20 min später… „Oh, hat noch niemand ihre Bestellung aufgenommen?“ Getränkebestellung aufgegeben und noch einmal um die Speisekarte gebeten. 5 min später kam die Speisekarte. 10 min später kamen die Getränke - Essen bestellt 40 min später kam der Burger (nicht mein Fall), lauwarm. Habe gleich noch ein Getränk bestellt. Dies kam dann aber nicht mehr (Auf der Rechnung stand es allerdings). Never again.

Erstmal die Getränke die wir hatten waren sehr lecker die hausgemachte Limonade ist gut, was das Essen angeht mussten wir an einem Montag sehr lange auf unsere ofenfladen warten und das beste bei uns waren diese alle viel zu dunkel teils schwarz.. Am Nachbar Tisch sahen sie gut aus.. Auf Ansprache gab es keine wieder gut machung wir sind enttäuscht.

I like the changing menus and so far I've enjoyed everything quite well. Nevertheless, unpleasant events are now piling up. Sometimes wrong calculations, sometimes wrong drinks and the last time, at best, lukewarm food. The young waitress's comment "I got it out straight away". Yes, well, we didn't want to eat cold fries and mushroom sauce and a side salad that wasn't fresh for 80 euros. After asking, we got hot food again. The handling of the criticism was really not very professional. Regarding pricing: it's slowly becoming too expensive. Even in the Gerbermüle, a top location in Frankfurt directly on the Main, you now get more for your money (better quality, larger portions, sometimes cheaper). A pity!

Der highrunner im Landgasthaus, Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Pfifferlingsauce, war leider nicht gut. Schweinsschnitzel dicker als 1 cm und nicht geklopft traf Pfifferlinge in Fertigsauce. Der Service war im Rahmen der Möglichkeiten bemüht.

Good cuisine and always an alternative in Karben

Unfortunately that was nothing! When I compare the partner restaurant “Wirtshaus am See” in Kahl, I see a difference in quality like night and day in the service and the food. Yesterday the three of us were unannounced at “Hannibal” and a young man pointed us straight to high chairs because the other tables were all reserved. Which turned out to be wrong because shortly after we were seated, 3 groups left and 3 tables remained empty! Whatever, so be it. Unfortunately we were no longer offered a table afterwards. Our order: 2 schnitzels with fries, one of them for an additional charge of €3.00 with about 2 tablespoons of pepper sauce. The 3rd dish was a steak, with mashed potatoes with chanterelles. Since the schnitzels all looked the same, I assume they were frozen goods. The sauce tasted (sorry) “not very good😡!” Unfortunately, as usual everywhere, there was no salad. The steak was well cooked medium rare, puree and mushrooms were cold. About the process: Drinks were served after 25 minutes, food after 45! After the food was served, not only cutlery, but also salt and pepper, as well as napkins were missing, all of which were brought after repeated requests! Conclusion: ……the visit wasn't worth the €85.60, so next time we'll go back to Kahl. There is definitely potential for improvement, especially in service and food!

The ambience and location are great, no question. However, the staff are generally untrained and sometimes anything but friendly. The supposedly "large breakfast buffet" on Sunday is very manageable and can be described as "ordinary" at best. Supposedly there will be a buffet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - our conclusion from last Sunday: the waffle iron was already completely dirty at 12:30 p.m. and it hadn't been cleaned. Fruit & vegetables were empty. Conclusion: nice location for a few drinks (if you're lucky and get friendly service) - food (normal menu) and breakfast below average.

Was there for the second time now, fittingly for the Deu-Hun game. Great atmosphere, staff always in a good mood despite the crowds, very tasty food... we'll be happy to come back.

Mein Entrecôte (von immerhin 400 Gramm) für Ü40 € war zäh wie Juchtenleder, weil nicht genügend gereift, das sehr sehnige Fleisch (muss auch bei einem Entrecôte wirklich nicht sein!) von unterdurchschnittlicher Qualität. Auf meine Reklamation hin wurde ich vom Inhaber (?) gefragt, wie ich das Fleisch bestellt hätte (medium!). Was bitteschön hat das damit zu tun, wie leicht oder schwer sich Fleisch schneiden und kauen lässt? Und dann wurde mir doch allen Ernstes ein schärferes Steakmesser angeboten! Hallo?!?!? Letztlich wurde Ersatz aufgetischt, etwas weniger zäh zwar, aber dafür 'medium rare' gebraten. Abgehakt - einmal und nie wieder. Ach ja, noch etwas: Das als Beilage bestellte Kartoffelgratin war sehr fettig, die Kartoffelscheiben noch nicht ganz durch. Seit wann enthält ein Kartoffelgratin Käse, noch dazu in solcher Menge?

Wir waren das erste mal hier mit Freunden essen. Leider sind wir enttäuscht worden. Der Hamburger ist keine gute Wahl gewesen, da er leider nur aus einen Klumpen Fleisch besteht, schlecht gewürzt und einfach nur fest zusammen gepresst. Für einen Hamburger Laden ein NoGo….das bestellte Schnitzel ist TK Ware meiner Meinung nach, ebenfalls schlecht gewürzt oder gar nicht und beide Schnitzel sehen gleich aus, muss TK Ware gewesen sein, lasse mich gerne eines besseren belehren! Die Bedienung leider sehr unaufmerksam und nachdem ich 2 mal gebeten habe zu bezahlen , bekam ich noch einen Spruch zurück…na jetzt dauert es extra länger…ebenfalls ein NoGo! Der Laden macht eigentlich einen gemütlichen Eindruck und zum trinken bestimmt cool. Zum Essen werde ich da nicht mehr hingehen, sorry…

Really delicious food! We like to be there occasionally!

Nice restaurant. The food is delicious, even if not down to the last detail. You could still add spices in one corner or another. The staff was attentive and polite. But it felt like there was still a lack of experience. In terms of ambience, the shop is pretty, even if one or two corners of the faux leather upholstery are already cracked. In terms of price, we are definitely no longer cheap.

We had made reservations for the breakfast buffet for 3 people and were then seated at a table for 6 people with 3 other strangers when we arrived. This table (and others) were deliberately occupied like this. We weren't informed of this beforehand, but according to service it was "completely normal". Ah yes! So I sat next to a stranger and across from a stranger. The buffet was nicely laid out and the selection was extensive. I particularly liked the possibility of baking waffles. Unfortunately, the products were saved because they were of inferior quality. The various rolls and pretzels are well known from the frozen supermarkets, cold cuts and dips are also (finished) industrial products. Unfortunately, we don't cook or bake ourselves here, we just defrost, bake and unpack! For the price quoted, I expect high quality products from a (local) baker and butcher. This is also what the operator suggests, keyword “country house kitchen”. Unfortunately the service was overwhelmed, we waited 30 minutes for drinks and the scrambled eggs we ordered. Our new table acquaintances also had to ask several times to even receive their orders. Apparently it is very time-consuming to bake frozen goods and arrange cold cuts from plastic packaging on plates. The scrambled eggs with bacon were a homogeneous and tasteless mass, I suspect that this was also a finished product from a tetra pack. Bacon was replaced with diced ham. Sure, you can also buy them ready-made in the refrigerator section. Keep in mind that you pay around €20 per person for a breakfast made from ready-made products. We didn't feel welcome here as guests and we didn't particularly like the food. In addition, the service was unresponsive to us most of the time. Not a nice experience for us, we won't eat here again.

The bread roll selection disappointed us a little. We were there for breakfast at 9:30. But with breakfast for 2 people there was just one grain roll and 4 normal rolls in the basket. At the other tables, including those who came after us, there was at least a choice of grains and a croissant for everyone. The excuse that everything was already over was pretty weak. Otherwise nice atmosphere and good offer. ... Today we had breakfast with the family. Everything was fine

Eat in harmony at the breakfast buffet. Long queue at the buffet just in time for the start of the time slot. The highlight: according to the notice, the waffles take 5 minutes, there is 1 waffle iron. Who can blame it if the next person takes the waffle out on their own after 4 minutes? Although paella and tortilla are both from Spain, they are not the same thing, but most of the other guests don't seem to mind such subtleties. Just 30 minutes before the end of the time window, you were asked whether you would like to order something else, and if you answered in the negative, you were told that “the next ones are coming soon” anyway. The prices are quite fair.
