We had a company event and were completely satisfied; the food was great and delicious, and the service was friendly. The only downside was that it was very loud and conversations were difficult.

It was my first time at Herrlich Ehrlich and I'll definitely be back. I found the menu very clear and concise, with just the right amount of choice. The food was absolutely delicious; I highly recommend the tacos with braised beef. The portion sizes are decent, but you'll definitely be full afterward, especially with an appetizer.

When I moved to Trier a few years ago, Herrlich Ehrlich was one of the places that immediately made me feel comfortable and at home in this city, and it remains one of my favorite restaurants to this day. The food is like a cozy hug every time, the drinks are perfectly balanced, and the location has its own unique charm in every season. So much love, warmth, and genuine "honesty" goes into this place that I can recommend it to anyone who wants to experience this side of Trier.

It was a fantastic meal all around. The ambiance is very appealing, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and all the staff were truly friendly and gave us excellent advice. I'm looking forward to our next visit!

I always enjoy visiting Ali and his Herrlich-Ehrlich team. The food is excellent and creative. I also think it's great that the menu is constantly updated and changed with the seasons. A true fixture in Trier's culinary scene. Keep it up!

The food and service were excellent. Unfortunately, we were initially seated at a table for two right in the middle of the room, which was very loud and cramped; the waiters coming out of the kitchen had to constantly squeeze past the table or behind our chairs. When other guests left after about an hour, we were finally allowed to move to a table by the window, where it was much quieter and we could chat much more easily. All in all, we really enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back. When we make our reservation, we'll request a table at the edge.

Wonderful ambiance, honest cuisine – simply a great host! Ali has created a unique place here in Trier that has that certain something. Everything is special, especially beautiful, and especially delicious. You also meet a special mix of people here, from... I hosted my birthday party in the terrace annex, and everyone loved it! From the decorations to the patio heaters (it's autumn) to the super-friendly service, everything was perfect. A clear recommendation! <3

Upon arrival, we found the restaurant full and our reservation hadn't been made. We were told that, despite our reservation, there were no free tables for four people and asked to sit on the covered terrace (in the rain and 9 degrees Celsius). The heaters had been on for an hour, and when we asked, we were told that the terrace was included in the reservations?! Since they showed no willingness to resolve the problem in the short term, we left the restaurant.

The food was, as always, delicious and honest. The service was quick and attentive, and the ambiance was beautiful. I might add more acoustic panels to the ceiling to minimize the reverberation a bit. Everything else is simply perfect.

Despite having a reservation, we didn't get a table. It wasn't free yet because the previous guests were still there. The waiter explained to us that he couldn't turn the previous guests away. He also couldn't give us an estimate as to when our table would be available. Instead, we were told to wait on the (thankfully covered) terrace in 10-degree weather and pouring rain. Unfortunately, we weren't even offered a free drink. We didn't want to find out how long it would actually take, so we left.

Probably the most extravagant and unique location in the city! We've been here with friends, but also for a wedding. A terrace overlooking the Moselle, truly exquisite food from Trier's top chef Ali, and a cool Kraft Bräu complete the perfection!

First time here and it was amazing. The staff was simply fantastic. Very attentive, very funny, and professional. The food was really good, albeit quite expensive. We'll be back.

It was a great evening, quite crowded, but the team had everything under control, even with a smile. The seating in the annex was heated! and a great alternative to sitting inside!

Very friendly service, all guests are addressed informally. The food is very varied, well-seasoned, and delicious. However, I find the prices a bit high.

During our trip to Alsace, we stopped in Trier and ended up at this truly lovely restaurant. The food was excellent. For starters, we had the antipasti platter for two, and for the main course, we both had the cévice. Lovely ambiance, delicious food, and fair prices. The house wine recommendation was so well received that we immediately ordered a couple of bottles. Highly recommended!

It's super funny when you and your wife in a wheelchair have to walk across half of Trier over the Roman Bridge to get to the much-publicized wine festival, only to find you can't get onto the grounds from the riverside path. The ultimate rip-off!

Three of us ate there. The food was truly outstanding, highly recommended, especially for vegetarians. For me, it was the best mezze I've had in Germany. The service was very attentive and friendly, despite the fact that the restaurant was almost fully booked. Highly recommended!

The place can only be recommended with reservations: The room facing the street was far too noisy, especially on Sunday evenings/nights, and it was too loud despite the old windows being closed. Free parking in front of the hotel. The hotel was older but clean. The restaurant was closed on Sundays and Mondays, so only takeaway drinks were available. Breakfast was simple, but everything was available. The breakfast lady was too cold and taciturn. Our room 14 on the first floor: the toilet/bathroom unfortunately had an unpleasant odor; the toilet drain was probably leaking.

It's really beautiful here, with a fantastic view of the Moselle. The food was also incredibly delicious, and the staff were very kind and friendly! I highly recommend it 🌱

However, we had to wait a very long time for the food, which was finally served lukewarm. The taste was also unfortunately bland. The service wasn't particularly attentive, and our honest feedback on how we enjoyed our meal was handled rather unprofessionally... What a shame...

We were invited there for a birthday party. Herrlich Ehrlich was completely unknown to me until then. The party took place outside in a cozy atmosphere. A champagne reception with canapés was served to start the meal. Starters were brought to the table, consisting of various oriental dishes. The main course was served buffet-style, see pictures. The meat was incredibly delicious 🤤. There were three different delicacies for dessert. I can only recommend it to everyone. I've been here countless times, so I'm always adding new pictures!

Simply special! One of the few highlights in the city!

Unfortunately, we weren't convinced. We spontaneously dropped in for drinks shortly after opening on a Saturday afternoon. We were greeted with the words: "You just want a drink..." If that's not what you want, you can and should communicate that right away rather than reacting in this way, which is very irritating for guests. When we were offered a seat at the Mosel tables (how are we supposed to know which ones are the Mosel tables?) and were given a quick look at the menu, we decided to order the appetizer selection. This was accepted with almost no reaction. If a spontaneous change of mind (at the Mosel tables) isn't desired, that can also be communicated. Without asking, we were then served the larger appetizer platter, which tasted excellent. Unfortunately, we (unlike other tables) weren't informed about the need for extra bread, which wasn't surprising given the service. We're giving it three stars for the ambiance and the appetizer, but we probably won't be coming back. What a shame!

Each bite showcased the pure, authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients, truly a treat for the palate. For our main courses, I opted for the 'CousCous-Bowl mit Falafel,' while my husband enjoyed the 'Offener Kafta-Burger.' Both were exceptionally tasty. The Kafta-Burger was masterfully spiced and thoughtfully combined. My CousCous-Bowl was a vibrant explosion of flavors - a generous blend of perfectly prepared and seasoned vegetables, complemented by a substantial portion of couscous, incredible hummus, and delicious falafel. The addition of roasted cashews provided the ideal textural and flavor contrast, making it a true culinary highlight. We absolutely loved our meal! I haven't been able to reach this restaurant by phone for three days. What a disgrace!! There was no response to the answering machine message either. Apparently, the restaurant industry isn't doing so badly after all.

Hi, we had a nice evening in this location. The food was good and the service was friendly. The only thing that bothered us was the high level of noise that the tables are so close together that you can hardly walk between them and hear every word from the next table. I don't think that's that great given the price range. Great for an evening with friends, A little too loud for a cozy get-together.
