Herrlich Ehrlich in Trier

The location is simply fantastic, with an atmosphere that is very cozy and pleasant. The food was once again excellent – ​​every dish was perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the staff, who were extremely friendly and attentive. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would recommend to everyone!

Unfortunately, the impression we got on our last visits has been confirmed again. The service in particular is really not attentive. When the glasses are empty, no one comes to the table. The operation in the room is difficult to respond to. Several drinks were forgotten. The food tasted good but ingredients were missing. I had the prawns with tagliatelle. These should come with cherry tomatoes and baby spinach. Neither was there. When I asked the waiter if everything was OK, I asked him. He said he would let the kitchen know. After that the issue was probably settled. It's a real shame because I really like the food in general. Given the prices and if I want to experience a relaxing evening, a visit is out of the question for me in the future.

It was, as always, very tasty. Very friendly service staff. We'd love to come back.

We were registered with a group of 13 people to end the evening after a wedding there. Unfortunately, only 10 of the 13 announced guests showed up, but that wasn't a problem since the "superfluous" table hadn't been added yet and was given away twice in our presence. If I had known this a little earlier, I would have let the restaurant know. Vegetarian starter platters were agreed upon, and according to the email, main courses “can” be ordered afterwards. While the starters trickled in one by one - which was absolutely great - a meat dish was also served. That was discussed differently. Unfortunately, the owner also harassed the bride and groom several times (!) in a very unfriendly manner during the evening that he would charge for 13 main courses because we had ordered far too few. This is neither legally tenable in any way, nor is it appropriate treatment of customers on such a day. And unfortunately that really ruined our mood. He can't complain about poor sales either, as all the guests ordered extensively from the cocktail menu. A little tip among restaurateurs: If you expect all guests to order main courses, you should a) communicate this clearly in advance and b) perhaps also reduce the number of starters. The food was good, the shop was nice, the service was nice and friendly - but unfortunately the owner's demeanor was completely impossible.

Super delicious food, a changing menu, and a very nice atmosphere. I've loved Herrlich Ehrlich for many years and am happy to recommend it, but I find the now significantly increased prices a real shame. I find a starter for €15-20 and a main course for €20-30 a bit too much. Especially since the portions could definitely be larger. "Just" a main course doesn't fill me up. That's a shame. The food is still extremely good quality, and the place is always very busy. Reservations are highly recommended! I still really enjoy going to Herrlich Ehrlich, but only once a year.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, great host 🥰

We went to a family birthday party with 25 people at the Herrlich Ehrlich. Wonderful food - we actually relied completely on the boss when making our selection in advance - both starters and the main courses were, as usual, absolutely fantastic. Also a perfect location for the children to play. Great ambience, lovely atmosphere - best place in Trier for a "wonderful" culinary evening. Thank you Ali & team, see you again soon!

The food was excellent! The staff was very friendly even though the restaurant was fully booked. Unfortunately it is very tight in the restaurant.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was disappointing and I cannot recommend it. Even the first impression wasn't particularly inviting. The boss himself didn't seem particularly well-groomed - an appearance that you wouldn't expect in an upscale restaurant. The service was extremely inattentive; Our starter was okay, but the main course took a whole hour and a half to arrive. Meanwhile, guests who arrived after us were already being served their dessert. When the food finally came, it was way too salty. We also asked for a spoon for the tagliatelle, but the waiter forgot it and it was only after 10 minutes that the boss personally brought it. Overall, the entire team seemed completely disorganized - no one really seemed to have a plan. In addition, the cleanliness could be improved. The sinks in the toilets in particular were very dirty, which further reinforced the overall negative impression. Unfortunately it wasn't a pleasant experience for me and I won't be coming back.

As always, I was very satisfied at Herrlich Ehrlich! I would love to see more vegetarian options on the menu.

The tables are very close together, and the bar-like noise and loud music make it difficult to have a conversation. The food is perfect both visually and taste-wise, but not completely prohibitively expensive.

There were three of us eating here and we all chose different dishes - all 10 out of 10. The drinks were also 10/10, especially the Tokio Tower, Espresso Martini and 1 hour before school.

Very friendly team in a very pleasant atmosphere. The waiters are very friendly in answering questions about the menu and beyond. For example, when looking for a non-alcoholic cocktail, they suggested their own ideas that were not on the menu. The drinks and food are of very good quality. The room is small and the tables are close together, which I don't think is uncomfortable, but it can be a bit noisy when full. All in all, a special restaurant that is highly recommended to visit.

As always, great food, very well seasoned. Cocktails were well mixed. Service was attentive, not intrusive and very friendly. We would be happy to come back. We can only recommend you.

Der Laden liegt ein wenig versteckt hinter einem Gebäude an der Aachener Straße. Direkter Moselblick. Die Bedienung ist äußerst freundlich aber es wird sehr laut wenn der Laden voll ist. Die Tische sind sehr eng aneinandergestellt, das ist sehr schade. Das Essen schmeckt gut, die Karte ist nicht sehr groß, dafür gibt es saisonale Abwechslung sowie viele hausgemachte Cocktails. Vorspeise mit Feldsalat und Humus finde ich Preis-Leisungs-mäßig zu teuer. WC ist sehr sauber und geräumig, inkl. Wickeltisch und Accessoires wie Deo und Co.

Regularly changing menu with excellently prepared and exciting dishes. However, you should take the charmingly bumpy and relatively loud atmosphere with (deservedly) high crowds into account when considering your expectations, especially in winter. Anyone in Trier looking for an interesting location for a gourmet evening with friends will definitely be happy here.

Nice ambience, good food. Very nice white wines. Unfortunately only two types of red wines on offer, Spanish. It would be nice if there was a larger selection of regional red wines in this area.

Very cozy restaurant, with friendly service staff, delicious, healthy food. It was a lovely evening all round. But the acoustics in this particular restaurant are unfortunately terrible. It was very loud, which really made me nervous as the evening went on. Too bad. Otherwise everything was fine. Many thanks to the friendly, competent team.

Very tasty food, interestingly seasoned, unfortunately not much choice. Nice service, a bit cramped since it's relatively small. In summer it's definitely nice to sit outside on the Moselle

The food is honestly AWESOME! wonderful, I love these combinations and the charm in the restaurant... it's cozy even if it's full and a bit noisy inside. Price/performance ratio is right, rather cheap (I think). The service was really nice and relaxed... even if something went wrong, always in a good mood... I ate here 3 times and each time I was more than satisfied... Great culinary delights, more than class... Overall we were satisfied, a nice experience, especially when it came to the selection and composition of the dishes. Very good, attentive service and a feel-good atmosphere. If the dishes had been seasoned a little more intensely, we would also have given the food a fifth star.

Our food was very tasty and high quality. The service is great. What we didn't like was that the tables were so close together that you could hardly walk between them. You are forced to hear the conversation of the people sitting next to you and vice versa. Everything is really crowded. Of course, this doesn't reduce the quality of the food, but it does reduce the overall impression of the restaurant. In addition, the selection of vegan and vegetarian main courses was unfortunately very limited: only one vegan and one vegetarian main course.

Herrlich! Ehrlich! Hier stimmt alles! Das Ambiente ist super schön, die Stimmung gut. Das Essen ist einfach herrlich lecker und der Service schnell und immer sehr sehr nett. Im Sommer lädt die wunderschöne Terrasse ein auch länger zu bleiben. Sowohl für Paare als auch für größere Gruppen geeignet, man sollte nur rechtzeitig reservieren.

Great cuisine, nice and attentive service staff and better acoustics thanks to the new insulation

The restaurant is a true paradise for lovers of oriental cuisine. The falafel, which is considered the best in the region, is a particular highlight. Crispy on the outside, tender and aromatic on the inside - one bite is enough to feel the perfect balance of spices and freshness. But it's not just the food that impresses, but also the service. The friendly and attentive staff ensure that guests feel completely comfortable.

The food is amazing in terms of quality and quantity. Healthy delicious modern cuisine, simply delicious. When the restaurant is busy, and it always seems to be (hidden next to/behind the skate hall with a view of the Moselle), then it is noticeable inside due to the large number of tables, and the guests sometimes sit very close to each other. Personally, I think that 2 or 3 fewer tables provide more “air”. Still absolutely recommended!

Food and service were very good, later in the evening a DJ played (we weren't aware of it when we made the reservation) so that a good conversation was no longer possible.

Ich habe selten so eine enttäuschende Erfahrung in einem Restaurant gemacht. Das Essen hatte absolut keinen Geschmack einfach nur lieblos zubereitet. Es wirkte, als hätte man die Gewürze komplett vergessen. Für den Preis habe ich viel mehr erwartet. Leider kann ich dieses Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen. Schade um die vertane Zeit und das Geld, Service aber top sehr nett und höflich.

Its an amazing place with great food and very kind staff. Ideal for both cosy dates or sunday family lunches. One of my favorite places in Trier and worth every penny. wine list is nice too and they mix killer cofktails.

Actually a good restaurant that is somewhat hidden in the back yard (so not easy to find). The staff themselves are friendly but somehow the processes are poorly organized: reserving a place is basically possible over the phone, you can do it online, but somehow you're not sure whether it really works. Unfortunately, it may happen that you don't get a place. The map is manageable, small but nice. Nevertheless, I was really disappointed last time: many drinks were suddenly not in stock, a companion who is vegan suddenly had no choice from the menu because dishes were not available and somehow the kitchen didn't seem to be doing the right thing be. The food was basically okay, but compared to the price it wasn't justified (it used to be different)

We always feel very comfortable at Herrlich Ehrlich. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Trier. Tasty dishes of the best quality, above-average friendly and courteous staff, wonderful ambience, all of this is what sets Herrlich Ehrlich apart. Yesterday we were there with friends from Leibzig and we also impressed them with our choice of restaurant. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

Uns hat die außergewöhnliche Qualität und die Kreativität der Küche überzeugt. Das Personal ist freundlich und kompetent, ausserdem sehr fix. Wir hatten keine Reservierung und obwohl es sehr voll war wurde uns ein Plätzchen organisiert . Die Ausstattung war witzig und gemütlich. Hier hat augenscheinlich ein Künstler seine Handschrift hinterlassen. Die Lage direkt über der Mosel bietet ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis.

We were invited there for a birthday. The Herrlich Ehrlich was completely unknown to me until then. The party took place outside in a cozy atmosphere. There was a champagne reception with canape at the start. Appetizers were Various oriental dishes were brought to the table. You could help yourself to the main course at the buffet, see pictures. The meat is super delicious 🤤. For dessert there were 3 different delicacies. I can only recommend it to everyone.

Das war echt toll heute. Super leckere Vorspeise Hummus mit Oliven und Fladenbrot, als Hauptspeise ein fruchtiges Linsendal. Eissorbet und hervorragender Kaffee zum Dessert. Liebevoll serviert und flotter und freundlicher Service. Nette Leute überall. Wir waren am Sonntag um 17.00 hier. Eine halbe Stunde später waren alle Tische besetzt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Thanks. I follow Herrlich Ehrlich on Instagram and have heard a lot of positive things about the restaurant on social media. I wanted to visit there in person for the first time. I didn't even get to eat because after the unfriendly service I don't want to go there anymore. There is a children's painting course at the EKA, which is close by. I came to pick up my son and was a little early. I wanted to take advantage of the time and go out for a drink with my other two children (6 and 2). A great opportunity to get to know Herrlich Ehrlich, I thought. At first I just wanted to ask if the four of us could have a drink in 15 minutes. We were greeted by a waitress with the words “Have you made a reservation?”, fair enough. There were only 3 tables occupied in the entire garden, but who knows. I said no. And then the waitress said harshly, “Well, we have reserved all the tables for today. We have all the tables occupied and we are understaffed and have no capacity at all.” Body language and facial expressions á la “Leave and don’t come back”. “Oh,” I said, “so are all these tables reserved yet?” We just wanted a drink.” “Oh, I can drink.” “Great, then I’ll come back soon. Maybe we could sit at a table there with a view of the Moselle?” “So they’re all gone now.” “All tables reserved for now?” “Yes, so we have to take a look right away because these are already popular tables and they sell out quickly. If you come back soon, we’ll have to take a look.” So what now? Either the tables are reserved or not. If not, then I would like to reserve one. “No, it’s not possible at the tables there.” When we returned fifteen minutes later, most of the tables were still free. Also the one with a view of the Moselle. We were assigned a table at the exit. The waitresses didn't smile. Stood around. Sometime after 5 minutes someone came over: "Yes?" “We would like something to drink” (the children sat and waited). “Yes…?” According to the motto, what? "Um... Do you have a map?" Turns around without a word and goes to get a card. And now the most interesting thing: an older, solid couple came in. The other waitress greets the two guests with two menu cards in her arms and a broad smile. “Have you made a reservation?” “No”, “No?” “Oh, but today is her lucky day, there are still tables available with a view of the Moselle” and leads her to one of the tables I had requested 20 minutes earlier. Really now? After more than a quarter of an hour the drinks arrived. At some point the children ran out of patience, I paid straight away and left. And goodbye. Delightfully unfriendly.

Food always of top quality. Small, selected card that changes again and again. We love the location (inside and outside). Cool atmosphere. Top cocktails. Service is sometimes a bit uncoordinated, but always friendly.

Worst service I have ever experienced! After 45 minutes at the table and being consistently ignored by the unmotivated staff, we finally organized a menu ourselves. After waving vehemently, a waitress finally came and took our order. After 10 minutes another employee came and asked us to leave the table and the restaurant. The table is reserved and there is no alternative seat. There was no marking of said reservation on the table itself. The service was harsh in its tone and made no attempt to resolve the situation for us as customers in any way. She insisted that we have to leave the restaurant. The boss, who we then had to see ourselves, was completely overwhelmed and helpless with the situation. He simply said he would discuss the situation with his employee. Neither helpful nor satisfactory for us at this moment. We won't be visiting this restaurant again.

Wanted to go to the WestWeinFestival today, according to the internet entry is free. On site they wanted 6 euros. For me, deliberate deception and wonderfully dishonest.
