Herrlich Ehrlich in Trier

As always, a culinary taste experience. Super friendly service staff despite the very full restaurant. For me it is one of the top 5 in Trier and the surrounding area.

Extremely nice waitresses. The food is always a pleasure. My friends have also become fans of Herrlich Ehrlich since yesterday.

Great, original food, a completely relaxed atmosphere in which all age groups feel comfortable together and professional service - it's great that there's something like that in Trier!!

Uns hat die außergewöhnliche Qualität und die Kreativität der Küche überzeugt. Das Personal ist freundlich und kompetent, ausserdem sehr fix. Wir hatten keine Reservierung und obwohl es sehr voll war wurde uns ein Plätzchen organisiert . Die Ausstattung war witzig und gemütlich. Hier hat augenscheinlich ein Künstler seine Handschrift hinterlassen. Die Lage direkt über der Mosel bietet ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis.

Very nice food. The stuffed chicken breast with spinache and mash was delicious. And they have of course Kraft beer.

We were invited there for a birthday. The Herrlich Ehrlich was completely unknown to me until then. The party took place outside in a cozy atmosphere. There was a champagne reception with canape at the start. Appetizers were Various oriental dishes were brought to the table. You could help yourself to the main course at the buffet, see pictures. The meat is super delicious 🤤. For dessert there were 3 different delicacies. I can only recommend it to everyone.

Das war echt toll heute. Super leckere Vorspeise Hummus mit Oliven und Fladenbrot, als Hauptspeise ein fruchtiges Linsendal. Eissorbet und hervorragender Kaffee zum Dessert. Liebevoll serviert und flotter und freundlicher Service. Nette Leute überall. Wir waren am Sonntag um 17.00 hier. Eine halbe Stunde später waren alle Tische besetzt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

1 star for the beautiful location, the cozy garden with a view of the Moselle and 1 star for the nice waiter. The young man who kindly brought us our drinks after waiting fifteen minutes and smiled. Thanks. I follow Herrlich Ehrlich on Instagram and have heard a lot of positive things about the restaurant on social media. I wanted to visit there in person for the first time. I didn't even get to eat because after the unfriendly service I don't want to go there anymore. There is a children's painting course at the EKA, which is close by. I came to pick up my son and was a little early. I wanted to take advantage of the time and go out for a drink with my other two children (6 and 2). A great opportunity to get to know Herrlich Ehrlich, I thought. At first I just wanted to ask if the four of us could have a drink in 15 minutes. We were greeted by a waitress with the words “Have you made a reservation?”, fair enough. There were only 3 tables occupied in the entire garden, but who knows. I said no. And then the waitress said harshly, “Well, we have reserved all the tables for today. We have all the tables occupied and we are understaffed and have no capacity at all.” Body language and facial expressions á la “Leave and don’t come back”. “Oh,” I said, “so are all these tables reserved yet?” We just wanted a drink.” “Oh, I can drink.” “Great, then I’ll come back soon. Maybe we could sit at a table there with a view of the Moselle?” “So they’re all gone now.” “All tables reserved for now?” “Yes, so we have to take a look right away because these are already popular tables and they sell out quickly. If you come back soon, we’ll have to take a look.” So what now? Either the tables are reserved or not. If not, then I would like to reserve one. “No, it’s not possible at the tables there.” When we returned fifteen minutes later, most of the tables were still free. Also the one with a view of the Moselle. We were assigned a table at the exit. The waitresses didn't smile. Stood around. Sometime after 5 minutes someone came over: "Yes?" “We would like something to drink” (the children sat and waited). “Yes…?” According to the motto, what? "Um... Do you have a map?" Turns around without a word and goes to get a card. And now the most interesting thing: an older, solid couple came in. The other waitress greets the two guests with two menu cards in her arms and a broad smile. “Have you made a reservation?” “No”, “No?” “Oh, but today is her lucky day, there are still tables available with a view of the Moselle” and leads her to one of the tables I had requested 20 minutes earlier. Really now? After more than a quarter of an hour the drinks arrived. At some point the children ran out of patience, I paid straight away and left. And goodbye. Delightfully unfriendly.

Food always of top quality. Small, selected card that changes again and again. We love the location (inside and outside). Cool atmosphere. Top cocktails. Service is sometimes a bit uncoordinated, but always friendly.

Worst service I have ever experienced! After 45 minutes at the table and being consistently ignored by the unmotivated staff, we finally organized a menu ourselves. After waving vehemently, a waitress finally came and took our order. After 10 minutes another employee came and asked us to leave the table and the restaurant. The table is reserved and there is no alternative seat. There was no marking of said reservation on the table itself. The service was harsh in its tone and made no attempt to resolve the situation for us as customers in any way. She insisted that we have to leave the restaurant. The boss, who we then had to see ourselves, was completely overwhelmed and helpless with the situation. He simply said he would discuss the situation with his employee. Neither helpful nor satisfactory for us at this moment. We won't be visiting this restaurant again.

Wanted to go to the WestWeinFestival today, according to the internet entry is free. On site they wanted 6 euros. For me, deliberate deception and wonderfully dishonest.

Excellent in every way, bohemian atmosphere and romantic river views. The staff is very friendly, helpful, polite, and the chef is exemplary. We will come back!

The food, breast of corn-fed chicken, was very tasty, but not much. A small breast and a stocking for €28.50. The starter and the vegan lentil daal were great. The service was perfect, very nice, attentive and quick. Overall it was a lovely evening! 👌🏻

The Food was so good. We had one vorspeize (hummus) and two main dishes - gnocchi&pide The portions are really big so it was too much for two. Beautiful place as Food is so tasty.

Simply always good. From the starter platter to the dessert and although there is no classic children's menu, even our picky daughter found what she was looking for and was completely satisfied.

Really nice atmosphere. Informal and friendly. We had two vegetarian starters which were substantial and very tasty. The service was quick and we then went for a shared dessert, which was also delicious and substantial. Dogs are welcime and there is an outside bar area from which you can watch the river if you just want a drink. So nice we went back again a couple of days later.

There were six of us, all of us, at the Herrlich Ehrlich for the first time. We all really enjoyed it. The only point of criticism: After the food was served, the waitress's attention waned. We would have liked to order more drinks, but unfortunately the waitresses always took a lot of time to stop by our table. Nevertheless, we will visit the Herrlich Ehrlich again. Just because of the food and ambience. And the waitress then has the chance to prove that she can do things differently.

The dishes are handmade, you won't find convenience products, ready-made mixes or anything similar here. A lot of love and creativity is put into conjuring things up in the kitchen, which you can definitely taste with the first bite. The only thing we would like to see is a small selection of non-alcoholic cocktails on the menu ;)

We sat outside because we made a late reservation. The heaters briefly passed left and right of the table. I didn't notice the performance until I got up to leave. 😏 The food was delicious except for the tzatziki with the lamb ragout, which was very weak. Then I left it. The location is announced on the street in front and then you stand in the yard and have to venture further. The service is friendly and the waiting times between courses could be shorter. ☺️

We were looking forward to a lovely evening in Trier. We came from Berlin and wanted to celebrate our sister-in-law's birthday here. We didn't receive a very friendly welcome because there were 9 of us who were seated on a table for four despite a reservation. It was really quite tight and our request for a larger table was not responded to and our request was rejected.

Nice and cozy place with the view on Moselle. Amazing food! We both enjoyed the appetizer and main courses. We will be back :)

Beautiful atmosphere and important project by refugees. But to be very honest: Unfortunately, a very mediocre wine experience with two overpriced “headache wines” from the Fürst and Molitor area (avoid at all costs!). Food good to very good, especially vegetarian and vegan. However, we first had to wait 15 minutes for our table and then another hour for the starter - for which the very nice service apologized and had a round of drinks on the house. There is definitely room for improvement when it comes to the pricing of food and drinks and what is on offer. We will give Herrlich Ehrlich a second chance very soon.

One of the BEST RESTAURANTS Trier has to offer! The taste of the food is simply next level. The quality is very good. I think it's great that the menu changes and the dishes are very unusual! Very very tasty! The location really has charm. It's really nice to sit, especially in summer. It's a bit noisy inside and every now and then you get a day where the service is only 90% good, but hey, that's human nature and the food and ambience are just too good! Ali is also very likeable and I think it's great that he's so committed and puts together great events.

As a non-local, I try to eat here once every time I'm in Trier for work. I am always amazed by the changing menu and have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness. The appetizer platter is an absolute must. 5 out of 5 stars for the food, as I have never eaten anywhere better. I give 4 out of 5 stars for service and ambience: There is absolutely nothing to complain about at Herrlich Ehrlich in this category. But I compare with my previous experiences. All in all: always worth a visit. Especially outdoors in summer. TIP: Always reserve.

For dinner in the wonderful Ehrlich - linguine with sea bass, mussels and prawns in harissa stock, fennel and spinach sprouts - honestly? World class - I drank a finely bitter Nik Weis Riesling with it - also world class - I've been watching Ali for a very long time and through many kitchens... his "red mullet on saffron risotto", which he cooked for me in the Brunnenhof back in 2011, is Today it is still often a part of my menu cooking...Ali has not bent over backwards - thanks to his training, he always cooks at a very high level! with love - otherwise it wouldn't taste so good - it's one of the best restaurants in Trier right now - well, of course there's hype - but - rightly so!

Located in the immediate vicinity of the European Art Academy, this stylish restaurant offers a small but excellent menu, which is also complemented by wines from well-known regional wineries. The service is attentive, well trained and friendly. The guests are mixed according to age.

Small menu, very good wine list, service, food all great. We will be back. Yes, as already mentioned many times before, the volume is a bit tiring at full load.

There is a small but very nice menu with enough vegetarian and vegan options. The dishes we tested (starter platter, sardines on salad, linguine with fish) were all extremely tasty. The waiting time was short - which was perhaps due to the fact that the restaurant was not fully booked (unlike usual). The wine selection is also worthy of praise - top addresses from the Moselle and red wines from the south. Very nice, courteous service! Thanks to the unoccupied tables, the noise level was tolerable - which unfortunately is often not the case when the restaurant is full: here we can only advise further noise reduction! We'd love to come back!

Kleine Karte die konzeptionell und qualitativ richtig gut ist. Meine 4-jährige Tochter auf dem Heimweg: "Papa, das Restaurant ist ziemlich cool!" Dem kann ich nur zustimmen. Seit Jahren beständig gut. Herrlich Ehrlich ist definitiv eine Empfehlung wert!

Zu jeder Zeit wieder!! Es war ein toller Abend ,das Personal sehr aufmerksam und die Küche war sehr, sehr schmackhaft! Wir kommen gerne wieder in dieses Lokal , in diese lockere Atmosphäre!

Der Name ist Programm: Frische, moderne Küche - herrlich

Das Essen war wirklich bombastisch. Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe dort und hatten eine kleine Vorauswahl an Gerichten erhalten. Als Vorspeise gab es eine "Variation". Falafel, Hummus, Spinatbällchen, Weinblätter und vieles mehr.. das war wirklich wow. Bis zur Hauptspeise ist dann einiges an Zeit vergangen und einige waren satt. Aber wir könnten unser Essen einpacken ;-) Gestört hat mich persönlich die Lautstärke/Atmosphäre in dem Raum. Die Bedienung war wirklich sehr auf Zack und super freundlich. Ich komme gerne wieder.
