Hermes in Ratekau

I was really positively surprised by the newly designed interior, and the Hermes restaurant as a whole! In my opinion, the service has always been very positive and very attentive and friendly😊, and then the food itself😋, and the salad served with it is a poem, freshly prepared and chilled 😋 and the respective prices are appropriate, if you consider the costs that the redesign of the Hermes must have caused! Thank you very much for the pleasant and lovely evening to the Hermes team, keep it up😊!

We were here for dinner with three couples on the way back from the new bridge on Timmendorfer Strand, which is now supposed to be the new landmark of Timmendorfer Strand. Unfortunately, it's only really great to see from a bird's eye view. But it is still really worth seeing and worth a look.

The food was delicious, the restaurant is very spacious, the staff adjusted the umbrellas for us so that we could sit in the shade. The service was very accommodating, there was no waiting time; as soon as we wanted to order something, someone was there.

I can't understand the many positive reviews. 1.) Entered the restaurant at 6 p.m., all tables were supposedly reserved. We were then directed to the bar on the right. An impossible place, we felt like we were in the train station waiting room. Loud... restless... lots of people coming to pick us up, staff arguing or loud discussions. 2.) Food came quickly. Ordered: Gyro plate and gyros with liver 15.50 euros each. Portion was tiny and very clear. You could count the chips and pieces of meat at a glance. FRIES were hot and looked good, but they were still seedy on the inside. Mayo from a sachet doesn't work at all. Tzaziki is way too little... Meat was tender and well seasoned. That was the only positive. 3) 7:30 p.m The supposedly reserved tables were still not occupied. I feel a bit ripped off. 4.) SMOKING right in front of the entrance area, an absolute NO GO. You come through a cloud of smoke and you walked through a cloud of smoke. That doesn't work at all. Sure...you could have complained or whatever...but it wasn't worth it to me. We cannot recommend this restaurant and will not come back again.

I had the pleasure in this Greek restaurant to eat and I can only say that it is fantastic experience! The staff was super friendly and really cared for us. The food was incredibly tasty – from the starters to the Main courses, everything was fresh prepared and full of flavor. The price-performance ratio is also great! You really get a lot for your money. I can do this Highly recommend the restaurant and I'm already looking forward to mine next visit! Thank you very much for that great evening!

The gyros and the souflaki skewer (pork fillet) were very tender and well seasoned. Portion is completely sufficient to fill you up. The price is also completely ok. Unfortunately, the service completely forgot to ask if you would like something to drink after your meal. Your own fault.

The proximity to the busy main road creates a lot of unrest. But the food and service are great!

We had dinner today around 5pm, the food was excellent, Aphrodite's delicacy, item 142 on the menu. The only drawback was the very nice waitress until we paid with a credit card. Her dismissive gesture ruined the waitress's tip

The nice thing about this restaurant is that it is not as old-fashioned as 90% of all other Greek restaurants, it is bright, friendly and modern. The food is great, everything is on point and, as usual with Greeks, everything is in abundance. The service is great and we didn't miss ouzo. If you're nearby and looking for a good restaurant, you've definitely come to the right place.

The food, even to take away, is really delicious. However, the salad is really not a salad, a few bitter iceberg leaves and 2 diced tomatoes with honey mustard dressing. Please change that!

The Greek restaurant Hermes has a nice outdoor area that attracted us, the menu sounded appealing. Our starter was only partially edible (grilled octopus, hard as the sole of a shoe). The service was totally okay, but no reaction to the octopus. The other food (lamb chops and Giros) was good, but also bland. We won't be coming back.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to dinner at Hermes... five people and a dog. Everything was great, the outdoor space was perfect, the food was ready quickly and delicious, the drinks were refreshing - but the best part of the evening was the service. It was almost like eating with friends or family... I haven't had that feeling in a restaurant for a long time. 🙂

Wir haben zum ersten Mal hier bestellt und das Essen war überragend gut. Wir hatten eine Platte für 2 Personen zum Mitnehmen, die wir jetzt auch noch morgen essen können, weil die Portion so groß war. Fleisch, Pommes und Reis alles heiß und lecker. Der Salat und das Tzaziki auch sehr empfehlenswert. Die Dame die uns bedient hat sowohl am Telefon als auch beim Abholen sehr lieb und geduldig. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder. Vielen Dank :)

We were there with a large group for a buffet meal. We were very shocked and disappointed! One of the worst Greeks we've ever been to. In addition to the buffet, small, overpriced portions of fries had to be bought for everyone. Salad buffet kept minimal and dessert not even available. Also had to be purchased separately. Really disappointing that you paid a high price there! Never again

The restaurant is located on a convenient federal highway. There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. It's cozy inside and in summer you can sit outside on a large terrace. We always like the food very much and the staff is also very friendly.

There has finally been a buffet again for a long time. It was very tasty and sufficient. As an improvement, I suggest including vegetables as a hot dish in the buffet. Otherwise the price/performance ratio is reasonable.

By far the worst Greek restaurant I have ever eaten at! Eating cold and sober.....Salad a joke has nothing to do with Greek salad. The buffet is always warmed up with hot water from the kettle...we were shocked!! Ambiance uncomfortably cold. Service ok.

We ate here by chance. It was ok. I had gyros with Metaxa sauce and champions, unfortunately there wasn't a champion in it and the sauce was more of a cream. But it was well seasoned. My husband had the calamari, which was okay for him but unfortunately nothing more. The salad that was served with it was 😞 well some iceberg lettuce and a strange dressing, you can leave that out. You can eat here but don't expect too much. Our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately the outdoor area is not inviting, it is very dirty but maybe it will look better in spring 🤞

Great food, nice staff, the ambience could perhaps be reworked. I think you could leave out the side salad. With one large drink each, we paid €44 for the two of us in December 2023, which is completely fine for us. Children are also welcome. Occasionally we also picked up food which wasn't so good, but this could also be due to the 10 minute drive it takes to get home.

We were last there just before Christmas '23. In the summer you can sit outside, but the inside is also spacious and well furnished. You almost always get a window seat. Actually, Hermes has the best souflaki far and wide. Hardly anywhere is it served as tender and juicy as here. However, it is often significantly over-seasoned. Currently we had each ordered gyros - there was also a buffet that day for around €19 per person, but at Greek restaurants you can hardly get a normal plate, so a buffet makes no sense for a normal eater. So we ordered á la carte. We both ordered gyros. We don't know if the service is only this bad when two men eat together. At times we had to wait an unusually long time in the almost empty restaurant until our order was taken. This time both of our dishes were so salty that they had to be returned, but we only noticed this when we got home because we apparently spontaneously lost our appetite and had our food packed up. Thank you Hermes, never again!

Gehen dort mindesten einmal in unseren jährlichen Ostsee Urlaub essen .Das essen ist immer von gleich bleibender guter Qualität Sehr nette Bedienung und sehr Leckere und sehr große Portionen. Ich kann das Restaurant nur weiter Empfählen.

Das Personal hat bei der um Bestellung vieles falsch gemacht 🙄🙄🙄

Sehr schönes Restaurant, waren schon über viele Jahre hier zum essen und es war immer gut und nicht überteuert. Dieses Mal hatten wir den grossen Salat mit Putenstreifen, sehr schmackhaft. Dazu eine Portion Metaxa Gyros zum Teilen, genau richtig fuer 2 Personen, kommen immer gerne wieder. Das Personal sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich, sehr angenehm. Parkplätze direkt am Haus. In 2023 ist wieder alles prima, wie die Jahre zuvor, die Fischplatte und die Grillplatte fuer 2 Personen ist auch sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr freundliches Personal, welches seine Pappenheimer (Stammkunden ;-)) kennt. Das Essen ist gut und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wir gehen hier regelmäßig essen.

Das Essen und die Menge ist gut. Beim Beilagensalat sollte man sich vielleicht mal etwas mehr einfallen lassen.

Als neuer Betreiber eines Restaurants wäre es wünschenswert, wenn wenigstens das verlebte Mobiliar des Vorbetreibers mit, z. B. Tischdecken für die Tische und Kissen für die Bestuhlung, bedeckt wären. Die Bedienung ist sehr bemüht familiären zu wirken. Das wirkt aber nicht authentisch. Die Außenanlage ist ungepflegt. Unkraut im gesamten Gastbereich zwischen den Terrasse Platten. Das Essen war okay, leider überteuert und nach 3 Minuten (nach Bestellung) auf dem Tisch. Unser Geld tragen nun nicht mehr dort hin und hoffen, dass der neue Betreiber sich dem Ambiente annimmt. Viel Erfolg, liebes Hermes Team.

Tolles Team, tolles Essen, immer wieder gerne

Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und war, trotz gut besuchtem Restaurant, schnell serviert. Freundliche Mitarbeiter und ein gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis runden die ganze Sache ab! War heute nicht das letzte mal, daß ich dort war!

Wir waren das erste mal dort und waren durch die Bewertungen positiv gestimmt. Allerdings hat uns das Essen absolut nicht überzeugt. Die Servicemitarbeiter waren anfangs freundlich aber das hatte schnell nachgelassen. Nur ein schnelles Teller bringen, kein danke, bitte wenn man irgendwas gesagt hat. Leider war mein Essen etwas angebrannt, bei der Frage ob alles gut war meinte ich „joa ging so“ - darauf ging man aber gar nicht ein. Der Salat war sehr langweilig. Sah aus als würde er schon länger stehen. Das „Dressing“ schmeckte nach einem Brühwürfel. Nicht mal eine Gurke, Tomate etc. befand sich im Salat. Das Tzaziki war nur ein kleiner Klecks. Mein Mann war so nett und gab mir noch was von seinem Tzaziki ab, weil er mein trauriges Gesicht sah. Alles war sehr lieblos „hingekleckst“. Ein schöneres anrichten hätte schon so viel ausgemacht. Immerhin sind wir satt geworden. Am Ende wurden wir gefragt ob wir einen Ouzo trinken möchte. Nach 10 Minuten Wartezeit sind wir dann aufgestanden. Der ouzo wurde vergessen. Wirklich Schade aber wir kommen nicht wieder.

Wir sind seid Jahren Stammkunden dort ,haben schon einige Familienfeiern dort gehabt.Aber heute waren wir dort ....was erstmal der letzte Besuch war.Die Portionen waren wie Mittagstisch und die Heizung war komplett aus. Die Bedienung hat ja gewechselt früher waren die viel freundlicher zu ihren Gästen, sehr schade ,aber wir kommen nicht mehr.

Das Lokal wirkt einladend und freundlich. Das Personal ist höflich und weitestgehend aufmerksam. Innerhalb des Ambientes war es sehr kühl und ein leichter Luftzug war zu spüren. Die Heizung war aus. Die Wartezeiten zwischen Bestellung, Getränken und Speisen war angemessen. Das Essen war unterdurchschnittlich. Die Salatvorspeise war mittelmässig und das Dressing wässrig. Der Reis war kalt und die Pommes nicht gewürzt. Das Gyros teilweise nicht durchgebraten. In der Vergangenheit sind wir immer gerne hier her gekommen, aber das heutige Erlebnis hat erheblich dazu beigetragen, dass dies unser vorerst letzter Besuch hier war. Schade..

Mit 12 Personen die verschiedensten Gerichte bestellt, für alle ein Gaumenschmaus. Schon der Empfang konnte nicht besser sein. Sehr aufgeschlossenes, höfliches und nettes Bedienungspersonal. Ob innen oder außen auf den Terrassen , alles so sauber, wie man es nicht überall sieht. Wir 12 Erwachsenen sind uns einig, von A bis Z, 5 Sterne für alles. Wir können dieses griechische Restaurant guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen. Auf jedem Fall hat dieses Restaurant zunächst einmal schon 12 Stammkunden mehr.

Schöne Außenterrasse, freundliche Bedienung. Qualität hat noch einige Luft nach oben. Im Umkreis von 10 bis 20 Km gibt es Griechen, die es besser machen. Die Lage ist gut mit ausreichenden Parkplätzen. Werde es möglicherweise nach einem Jahr erneut austesten. Bis dahin Ratekau -Zentrum, Niendorf oder Ahrensbök.

Wie immer ein absoluter Hit. Das Essen ist super schmackhaft, heiß und toll gewürzt. Super freundliche Bedienung und ein schönes Ambiente. Abends wird das Essen als Buffetform angeboten :-) Hier wird jeder satt. Eine absolute Empfehlung.

Das Buffet war bei meinem Besuch mäßig - teilweise abgegessen (Gyros leer und erst nach 20min nachgefüllt, da war ich satt), Auswahl begrenzt, Essen wirkte teilweise etwas zerkocht bzw. zu lange warm gehalten. Pro: netter und flotter Service, Nachtisch und Kaffee ist gratis mit Hauptgericht

Die Qualitätsbandbreite bei griechischen Restaurants ist riesig groß. Dieser Grieche gehört zu den Restaurants wo man sich richtig satt essen und sich dabei auch durchaus wohl fühlen kann. Wie die meisten Gäste haben wir uns für das Buffet entschieden. Es gibt eigentlich alles, was man man so in unseren Landen unter griechischer Küche versteht. Reichlich Vorspeisen und viele Fleischgerichte. Die Qualität ist so wie man sie erwarten kann: essbar und kostengünstig, aber nichts besonderes. Ideal für kostengünstige Familienfeiern. Dementsprechend proppenvoll ist das Restaurant. Was in Erinnerung geblieben ist, dass trotz der Hektik der Service eine gewisse Herzlichkeit ausstrahlte.
