You should really only go here if you're looking to enjoy the view. Terrible food paired with poor service. If you fancy a bratwurst (sold as currywurst) with a little Hella spice ketchup, this is the place for you. It's served with lousy fries. A classic tourist trap. The service was also poor.

It couldn't be more unfriendly. My recommendation is not to come here.

Terrible service – no menu offered, so you're supposed to guess what's available. An elderly gentleman took our order with extreme reluctance. No change was given – it wasn't much, but still. The prices are completely exorbitant for what's on offer. Simply disappointing.

Never experienced such terrible service – unfriendly and very snotty. People at the counter shout loudly and insult customers – I've never experienced anything like that, not even in a snack bar. At first, they refused to pay with their card, claiming the Wi-Fi wasn't working. After some back and forth, it suddenly worked – very questionable. I asked several times for a proper bill and was ultimately simply fobbed off with an interim bill. I can only fool myself. There seems to be something completely different going on in the background.

No service, you're simply ignored. You're supposed to find a seat, and then nothing else comes. Whether the food is good is up to you, since you're not served. The view is quite nice. If you ask the waiter why you weren't served, you're asked where you were sitting. And it was the same waiter you asked before who assigned you a seat.

My wife and I visited Herkules for the first time, and the terraces on the way up were recommended to us several times. The food was really good, too; I can only recommend it. BUT the waitress at the cash register was beyond rude. The man argued with every guest and provoked arguments. A guest was talking to his wife about drinks and said to her, "He wants a Coke Zero." The man at the cash register immediately prepared two glasses without them being ordered. The two guests were then insulted and abused by the waitress when they refused to have them. He also became very loud, so much so that other guests heard. If I had been the boss, it would have been the waitress's last day at work.

No, I don't recommend it. The staff really needs to learn what service means. But it's probably not the fault of overworked staff, but rather the restaurant owner, who is cutting back on staff.

When we entered nobody greeted us, then we had a few questions about the tables downstairs, while I was talking to the waiter another waiter who was a bit old came and told me very rudely, get out of here, this is not the place for orders, then there was no point in staying there, just very bad staff!

A truly beautiful restaurant with a stunning view over Kassel. The service staff was always friendly but lacking in enthusiasm. We didn't feel comfortable as a group and quickly decided to have dinner at another restaurant. Room for improvement!

There are so many lovely outdoor seating options. I couldn't have asked for a better tarte flambée.

If you want to relax a bit near the Hercules Monument, this is a good option. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas.

I came here twice within three weeks for coffee and cake. Both times I had Frankfurter Kranz, which was very tasty. But: both the latte macchiato and the café au lait were made with cold milk and not foamed. As a result, the entire drink was lukewarm. I think that's completely unacceptable. I noticed the same harsh tone from other guests. And the atmosphere was cold and unloving. There were no flowers on the table, like in the old days in the GDR. I won't be back.

Positives: The service staff were very friendly. But the manager is completely unacceptable. He blatantly says, "There's nothing left, this door is closed." You can tell they just treat you as a passing tourist, eager to take money. In plain English, they really need to provide decent service. I won't recommend this place to anyone. One star is already too many, better -5 so that people like this can learn to provide better service.

Reception was unfriendly, and the wait was long. The cake for my husband arrived immediately, but the child had to wait another 10 minutes for a scoop of ice cream. This was served in a dirty cup. The atmosphere was difficult; the room was large and the chairs were jumbled together. The room that seemed to be better was occupied. The service was friendly.

As a club, we had a very successful championship celebration here. The food was excellent, the hosts were super friendly, and the staff were superb.

A very inviting restaurant in itself, but unfortunately, the service staff weren't trained. We were offered the option of sitting outside, which was nice, but we weren't lucky enough to receive a menu or even see another server; they might have been deep in conversation at the bar. So we left the restaurant!

I've never been treated so rudely in any restaurant before! When you're a first-time customer, you can't possibly know the "rules"! We weren't aware that there was a service area and a self-service area, and that we had to queue at the counter just to order a coffee. It's all about tone, and as a "server" you should also have good manners... Thanks for the words: "If you're offended, you can leave." So we did.

We visited here for lunch today after our visit to Hercules. Great atmosphere on the terrace with a view of the water features. The food was absolutely amazing. Great location, super friendly service, and most importantly, the value for money. Although it's a bit more expensive, it's a perfect match for the quality and location. We'd love to come back.

Somehow, there's only one tourist restaurant on Wilhelmshöhe, and they only serve a reduced menu at the water features. Despite its prime location (which is worth a star for that alone), the food was disappointingly poor and overpriced compared to the restaurants "downstairs."

Not recommended On Wednesdays and Sundays, only the water games menu is available, which is fine in principle. Dishes cannot be changed, however, as they are already prepared. We waited 45 minutes for the ready-made food, and then everything was still cold and unappetizing because it wasn't seasoned, and there was no pepper or salt on the table for us to season ourselves. There was trash outside, guests who arrived after us were served or received their food first, and dogs were NOT given a water bowl despite asking. I was ignored when paying with a card at the counter.

Today, I was privileged to attend a wedding reception at the Herkules Terrace in Kassel as a guest – and I am absolutely thrilled! The venue offers a fantastic view and a stylish atmosphere that was a perfect fit for this special occasion. The buffet was excellent: very varied, lovingly prepared, and of the highest quality. The drinks selection was also very good and always served with attention. Special praise goes to the service staff – friendly, attentive, and always on hand, without being intrusive. You could tell that they work with passion and professionalism. All in all, an unforgettable day in a special place. I highly recommend the Herkules Terrace for celebrations!

It was quite hectic. We sat inside with a beautiful view of Kassel, but guests were constantly passing by. A gust of wind was blowing through the open doors.

Card payments aren't accepted at the kiosk, even though it's a popular tourist destination. While card payments are accepted at the restaurant, the prices were exorbitantly high. The kiosk also has extremely high prices.

Unfortunately, the young man wasn't listening and interrupted the conversation to talk to another customer. We then had to repeat what we had ordered. Unfortunately, this was very unprofessional. We won't be coming back. The coffee and cake were fine. The price/performance ratio wasn't right. The fact that so many guests rate the service as unsatisfactory should give the owners pause. What a shame!

The Herkules Terraces impress with a great view and an overall pleasant ambiance. Unfortunately, our visit on a Saturday afternoon wasn't quite perfect. The organization left a lot to be desired: At times, a single waiter had to serve up to 40 guests, which meant it took a long time to order or pay. The communication regarding the service concept was also confusing. There are both waiter-service and self-service terraces, but these are neither clearly signposted nor are any information provided. Many guests were visibly confused and changed seats several times. We ate à la carte. The schnitzel was average – the taste was okay, but for the price, you would have expected a bit more. The side salad was served about 10 minutes late – something like that should have been served as an appetizer or at the same time as the main course. On the positive side, the beer was fresh and well-tapped – a small bright spot. Conclusion: Beautiful location with potential, but the service, organization, and value for money need to be reconsidered.

I'm so disappointed and angry. I was a regular because of the staff and now the owner has changed and now the atmosphere is terrible. How can you destroy the concept like that? The prices are increased and the 2 new owners have been so disgusting to the staff and to us. I'm never coming back.

Unfortunately, my visit to the Hercules Terraces was anything but pleasant. As soon as I entered, I wasn't greeted warmly - the gentleman in the white shirt, apparently the boss, preferred to joke with the staff rather than take care of the guests. That wasn't inviting. I just wanted to drink a small cola, but only 0.5 liter drinks are served outside - a smaller portion is not possible. The cake I tried looked and tasted old - it was probably from the day before yesterday. When I wanted to pay by card, the tone suddenly became unfriendly. The boss reacted snidely and asked loudly why I didn't have any cash with me. When I explained that I was there on my bike and therefore didn't bring any cash with me, they just mumbled disgruntledly. Overall an unpleasant experience - I definitely won't be coming back!!

I will not enter this store again. The owner's attitude is clearly too right-wing for me and contradicts my personal values. Overall I am very disappointed.

We were here with my girlfriend. I can't say anything more than dissatisfied. Free choice of tables, we were told. One table was completely empty, only there was a bag on the chair. A waiter spoke to us rudely, no greeting, not a word of apology, it was immediately - "what you are doing here is not acceptable". I asked him what wasn't working. He said - a guest could sit here. I asked him where is this guest? He said he wasn't interested and we should leave this place. Other guests have also said that the way he behaves doesn't work. Okay, we picked another table, even got the menu. And then we got complete ignorance. No respect, no kindness. Never again

The ambience of the restaurant is really nice - stylishly furnished and with a fantastic view that makes the visit special. Unfortunately, the service couldn't quite keep up with the positive overall impression. The waitress came to the table without a menu and directly asked what we would like to order, which seemed a bit disorganized. Even later, empty glasses were overlooked, even though people walked past our table several times - a little more attention would have been welcome here. Overall a nice place with potential if the service is improved.

As beautiful as the mountain park and Hercules are…. I am very, very disappointed with the Herkules Terrassen restaurant. It's a shame that card payments aren't possible because the WiFi doesn't seem to be working again. Very annoying. The owner seemed totally annoyed and unprofessional, which further spoiled the atmosphere. Overall, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will definitely choose other options in the future when I want to enjoy my coke and fries.

ヘラクレス像まで登って来て少し疲れたのでコーヒーでもと思い入りました。入ると直ぐにケーキのケースがあり美味しそうなのでケーキを頼むことにしました。注文の仕方が判らなかったので人が多いここで待っていると、ここで頼めば外で自由に食べて下さい、レストランに入りたいのであればウェイターに頼んでくださいと言う事で、中に入って行くと外の席の眺めが良かったので外に座る事にしました。そこでコーヒーとマーチパンのケーキにしました。このケーキは結構美味しかったです。天気も良くて外の席は直ぐにうまり、テラス席もすぐに満席になりました。

We went outside for coffee. Very scenic! Unfortunately, the catering is underground because no one takes care of the tables outside. However, self-service requires clean tables. These were completely dirty and an unreasonable burden for the guests. Just like the fact that there is no small water with coffee, there is only a large glass.

There are no small drinks - even small children have to order 0.5l drinks, which is completely inappropriate. Card payments are regularly not possible because “the WiFi doesn’t work” – which is hardly understandable given today’s technical possibilities. When I asked for an invoice, I was snidely dismissed with the words: "Does it have to be now? Then I have to go back in and get it." This is not how you treat paying guests. Definitely the last time for me - it's a shame about the beautiful view, but the service and attitude are no longer right here. NEVER AGAIN!!!

If you want to feel really ignored and made fun of in beautiful nature, then you've come to the right place! We arrived at 2:30 p.m. – unfortunately right between the secret meal times (12-2 and 6-8). The Easter menu didn't appeal to us (we didn't get any other menu at all), so we thought: at least a dessert! But even the drinks took over 30 minutes. On neighboring tables we saw tempting waffles with strawberries and ice cream - I wanted them too! The waiter just said: "It's not available, only from the kiosk." Funny, because they obviously came on porcelain plates straight from the service. Then we decided on chocolate cake (we checked what was available ourselves). 20 minutes later: "Unfortunately it's no longer available." Super. As I was leaving I thought to myself: I'll just ask myself again. Three employees at the bar - when I asked if there were waffles here, they all said: "Yes, of course!" When I mention what we've been told before, there's suddenly a synchronized "Um... well... no, we haven't. Or we all already are." Well so what! Two tables had already received waffles at the moment I asked - and strangely enough, from the same waiter. Too bad. I work in the catering industry myself and understand stress on holidays - but this was just disrespectful. For us it was the first and last visit. Many greetings from Hamburg!

No, I allowed myself to use the toilet and a little waiter with a cigarette in his mouth asked me (outside) if I didn't know that it wasn't a public toilet just for guests. I replied that I wanted to have lunch here straight away, but the smoking waiter didn't care. He continues to complain. I then decided not to have lunch at this restaurant.

We were there for dinner today and were very satisfied. Good friendly service, good tasteful food and great views. Recommended for a trip and also for eating out in beautiful surroundings.

The most customer-unfriendly restaurant I've ever visited! First you have to wait in line outside for an eternity to place a drink order, only to be told that only cash payment is possible. There is no sign about this anywhere. A no go these days! You can even pay for the bread roll with a card at the bakery. So you had to go back to the restaurant to place your order (card payment is possible there). When I pointed out when paying that a sign would be useful so that you don't have to queue for nothing, I was greeted very harshly and unfriendly. Thanks, that's it! This shop will never see me again. Other guests were also treated so unkindly on the outdoor terrace that you can only look far away! That doesn't work at all!!!!

We were guests in a group on the terrace. There is self-service, no problem in itself. But ordering at the counter directly from the boss: long waiting time.....finally it's your turn....paid immediately, supposedly the potato soup was supposed to be served directly to the table. They would find me... but they wouldn't find me for a very long time. The others in the group had long since finished their cake setting. When I asked the boss at the counter, there was an unfriendly, stroppy answer... and still no soup... time continued to pass... when the soup was ready, it would be served... a shame, because the location of the restaurant offers potential.

We stopped in late in the afternoon to eat and almost wanted to leave because a waitress didn't think it was necessary to answer my question. Her colleague was even friendlier and brought us the cards straight away. Your colleague could take this as an example! For dinner we ordered the currywurst and the chicken with vegetables. Both tasted very good and were freshly prepared!

The “bar manager” had a “very special” sense of humor that had a hint of unfriendliness. I had the feeling that the crew seemed very disorganized and there was little knitting. This could have been done better. The location and furnishings do not reflect the quality of the service and food.

Nach dem Pächter-/Besitzerwechsel ist das Essen wesentlich schlechter geworden. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und werden nicht mehr dorthin gehen. Das Personal ist allerdings weiterhin sehr freundlich.

Ordered rump steak. No cooking point was requested. Was rather served through. The leek on the plate was poorly processed with a dull better. Some of the salad was not washed properly. Fried potatoes were not really warm and dry. There was only a small selection on the menu. In addition, no alcoholic drinks were offered. Service took your wishes into account. All in one but I'd rather not do it again.

Today was the first and - unfortunately - also the last time at the Hercules Terraces. We were loudly welcomed by a short, portly gentleman and given a seat. There was no friendliness or discretion here.

I will never go there again!!! Cake was inedible and not fresh!!! It was still frozen hard 😜. I gave it back, in the end the cake was on the bill, but we didn't pay for the cake 😉

Insanely good potato soup and very friendly staff.

Very nice atmosphere, very courteous operation/service. The food tastes great. I can only recommend it. :) Combine it with a walk and enjoy the view!

At the beginning very fast and friendly service. But it decreased significantly afterwards. The meal also took an extremely long time and didn't go beyond normal tourist food. It's a shame, there's a lot more potential in the store!

A nice restaurant with a great view. The food, drinks and espresso at the end were excellent. The head waitress or chef de rang was competent, attentive and friendly, The service employee who brought me food and drinks was rather listless. At least he was having fun with his colleagues.

Positive: Great location and view, plenty of parking, the modern part of the restaurant is nicely decorated. Great selection of cakes. Also suitable for large groups with reservation. Negative: The quality of the food wasn't that good, we even had to send a dish back. This was not calculated at the end, very good! Maybe you should limit the selection on the menu and pay more attention to quality. We would come here again for coffee and cake, but not for lunch.

The quality of the food was very poor, we had schnitzel three times and potato pancakes once. Schnitzel was sometimes still very pink and very chewy. The two potato pancakes that were included with the children's menu were good.

“Cash only” at the kiosk - that's no longer up to date. Typically German and something from the 90s... Get a card reader and arrive in the 21st century!!! Update to the answer: I had a network - and there is a remedy for something like this too. There are WiFi repeaters and the like - sorry, but that's no excuse, just sitting out the problem at the expense of potential customers. Especially at such a visitor magnet, you should make sure that you are technically up to date. For the tourist it looks like: "Look at the Germans, they're still making cash..." Update on the response from the operator: There are WiFi repeaters - they don't cost €100... Where there's a will, there's a way!

The sights are really great. The food, if it can be called that, was sumptuous but not eatable. Schnitzel was served with fried potatoes and then I suspect that the frying pan had to be refilled. It was so greasy that there was a lot of oil on the plate and the schnitzel was literally overflowing. The next thing is that card payment is not possible at the kiosk and at the ticket sales for the Hercules. It was still possible in the restaurant but independent of the kiosk.

Our food was relatively expensive, generously portioned and tasted too bland for us. But the view of the city of Kassel was magnificent.

We were there at the weekend, but ate in the outdoor restaurant. We were charged 15 euros for a bratwurst (very thin) with fries and a small coke.

Absolut keine Empfehlung! Unser Essen war teilweise absolut ungenießbar. Zum einen wurden teilweise Bestellungen falsch aufgenommen und dann auch noch darüber diskutiert. Zum anderen war das Essen teilweise schlichtweg nicht essbar. Ein Gericht war versalzen, zwei andere schmeckten verdorben. Auch war das Essen an sich nichts besonderes. Der „gebeizte Lachs“ schmeckte genau wie Räucherlachs aus dem Supermarkt, das Schnitzel war ein Schweinefleischlappen mit Panade usw. Die betreffenden Gerichte wurden zum Glück storniert. Auf die Frage, ob es noch ein Nachtisch sein darf, antworteten wir selbstverständlich mit einem klaren Nein.

Very rude supervisor in main restaurant.No way of speaking to clients. Maybe my dark skin was a problem for him. No card payment accepted at kiosk. Place your order and wait for your number to be shouted out across the valley by a grumpy takeaway cook.
