As beautiful as the mountain park and Hercules are…. I am very, very disappointed with the Herkules Terrassen restaurant. It's a shame that card payments aren't possible because the WiFi doesn't seem to be working again. Very annoying. The owner seemed totally annoyed and unprofessional, which further spoiled the atmosphere. Overall, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will definitely choose other options in the future when I want to enjoy my coke and fries.

ヘラクレス像まで登って来て少し疲れたのでコーヒーでもと思い入りました。入ると直ぐにケーキのケースがあり美味しそうなのでケーキを頼むことにしました。注文の仕方が判らなかったので人が多いここで待っていると、ここで頼めば外で自由に食べて下さい、レストランに入りたいのであればウェイターに頼んでくださいと言う事で、中に入って行くと外の席の眺めが良かったので外に座る事にしました。そこでコーヒーとマーチパンのケーキにしました。このケーキは結構美味しかったです。天気も良くて外の席は直ぐにうまり、テラス席もすぐに満席になりました。

The ambience of the restaurant is really nice - stylishly furnished and with a fantastic view that makes the visit special. Unfortunately, the service couldn't quite keep up with the positive overall impression. The waitress came to the table without a menu and directly asked what we would like to order, which seemed a bit disorganized. Even later, empty glasses were overlooked, even though people walked past our table several times - a little more attention would have been welcome here. Overall a nice place with potential if the service is improved.

Very disappointing - not recommended The “new owner” in the white shirt is extremely rude and stroppy when dealing with guests. The prices are completely excessive and absolutely not justified. There are no small drinks - even small children have to order 0.5l drinks, which is completely inappropriate. Card payments are regularly not possible because “the WiFi doesn’t work” – which is hardly understandable given today’s technical possibilities. When I asked for an invoice, I was snidely dismissed with the words: "Does it have to be now? Then I have to go back in and get it." This is not how you treat paying guests. Definitely the last time for me - it's a shame about the beautiful view, but the service and attitude are no longer right here. NEVER AGAIN!!!

We went outside for coffee. Very scenic! Unfortunately, the catering is underground because no one takes care of the tables outside. However, self-service requires clean tables. These were completely dirty and an unreasonable burden for the guests. Just like the fact that there is no small water with coffee, there is only a large glass.

The boss was very unfriendly. The food didn't taste good! The salad had hardly any dressing and the food wasn't seasoned. Overpriced and not worth the money

After 45 we still had no drinks or food

Unfortunately it is very confusing as to what belongs where. We wanted to eat something and only got the Easter menu. They could have pointed out to us that there is another map outside. Were very disappointed. Food was good so far, unfortunately my asparagus wasn't well peeled but that happens

If you want to feel really ignored and made fun of in beautiful nature, then you've come to the right place! We arrived at 2:30 p.m. – unfortunately right between the secret meal times (12-2 and 6-8). The Easter menu didn't appeal to us (we didn't get any other menu at all), so we thought: at least a dessert! But even the drinks took over 30 minutes. On neighboring tables we saw tempting waffles with strawberries and ice cream - I wanted them too! The waiter just said: "It's not available, only from the kiosk." Funny, because they obviously came on porcelain plates straight from the service. Then we decided on chocolate cake (we checked what was available ourselves). 20 minutes later: "Unfortunately it's no longer available." Super. As I was leaving I thought to myself: I'll just ask myself again. Three employees at the bar - when I asked if there were waffles here, they all said: "Yes, of course!" When I mention what we've been told before, there's suddenly a synchronized "Um... well... no, we haven't. Or we all already are." Well so what! Two tables had already received waffles at the moment I asked - and strangely enough, from the same waiter. Too bad. I work in the catering industry myself and understand stress on holidays - but this was just disrespectful. For us it was the first and last visit. Many greetings from Hamburg!

No, I allowed myself to use the toilet and a little waiter with a cigarette in his mouth asked me (outside) if I didn't know that it wasn't a public toilet just for guests. I replied that I wanted to have lunch here straight away, but the smoking waiter didn't care. He continues to complain. I then decided not to have lunch at this restaurant.

We were there for dinner today and were very satisfied. Good friendly service, good tasteful food and great views. Recommended for a trip and also for eating out in beautiful surroundings.

The most customer-unfriendly restaurant I've ever visited! First you have to wait in line outside for an eternity to place a drink order, only to be told that only cash payment is possible. There is no sign about this anywhere. A no go these days! You can even pay for the bread roll with a card at the bakery. So you had to go back to the restaurant to place your order (card payment is possible there). When I pointed out when paying that a sign would be useful so that you don't have to queue for nothing, I was greeted very harshly and unfriendly. Thanks, that's it! This shop will never see me again. Other guests were also treated so unkindly on the outdoor terrace that you can only look far away! That doesn't work at all!!!!

We were guests in a group on the terrace. There is self-service, no problem in itself. But ordering at the counter directly from the boss: long waiting time.....finally it's your turn....paid immediately, supposedly the potato soup was supposed to be served directly to the table. They would find me... but they wouldn't find me for a very long time. The others in the group had long since finished their cake setting. When I asked the boss at the counter, there was an unfriendly, stroppy answer... and still no soup... time continued to pass... when the soup was ready, it would be served... a shame, because the location of the restaurant offers potential.

We stopped in late in the afternoon to eat and almost wanted to leave because a waitress didn't think it was necessary to answer my question. Her colleague was even friendlier and brought us the cards straight away. Your colleague could take this as an example! For dinner we ordered the currywurst and the chicken with vegetables. Both tasted very good and were freshly prepared!

You feel transported in time. This restaurant could have been the same 40 years ago, but that's what gives it its charm.

We only drank one coffee here, which was poured from a coffee pot, even though there were several fully automatic coffee machines in the back. The “bar manager” had a “very special” sense of humor that had a hint of unfriendliness. I had the feeling that the crew seemed very disorganized and there was little knitting. This could have been done better. The location and furnishings do not reflect the quality of the service and food.

Nice location, but the experience falls flat. Staff offered little guidance, with a brusque “you should know how it works” attitude at the entrance. We were misinformed about seating—told outside was self-service, only to find the best outdoor spots were full service. Bratwurst was pricey, slow to arrive, and tasted average at best. No itemised receipt, and overall, the service felt disorganized. Perhaps worth a stop for coffee and cake with a view, but not recommended for lunch—especially for international visitors.

The ice cream prices are exorbitant. 3 € for Flutschfinger is a no go for children's ice cream.

Nach dem Pächter-/Besitzerwechsel ist das Essen wesentlich schlechter geworden. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und werden nicht mehr dorthin gehen. Das Personal ist allerdings weiterhin sehr freundlich.

The service is unfriendly and you wait 20 minutes for a waffle and you can't sit down anywhere

Ordered rump steak. No cooking point was requested. Was rather served through. The leek on the plate was poorly processed with a dull better. Some of the salad was not washed properly. Fried potatoes were not really warm and dry. There was only a small selection on the menu. In addition, no alcoholic drinks were offered. Service took your wishes into account. All in one but I'd rather not do it again.

Dedicated staff. Nice ambience. Self-service outside. Indoor service.

Not recommended Service was terrible and the order didn't come

Today was the first and - unfortunately - also the last time at the Hercules Terraces. We were loudly welcomed by a short, portly gentleman and given a seat. There was no friendliness or discretion here.

I will never go there again!!! Cake was inedible and not fresh!!! It was still frozen hard 😜. I gave it back, in the end the cake was on the bill, but we didn't pay for the cake 😉

Insanely good potato soup and very friendly staff.

Very nice atmosphere, very courteous operation/service. The food tastes great. I can only recommend it. :) Combine it with a walk and enjoy the view!

At the beginning very fast and friendly service. But it decreased significantly afterwards. The meal also took an extremely long time and didn't go beyond normal tourist food. It's a shame, there's a lot more potential in the store!

A very nice restaurant and cafe. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately it will be closed for a few months due to a change of operator. I hope a new one can be found quickly.

Great view. Stopped in for a coffee and drinks. The service wasn't good. Not very attentive. There were people behind the counter, but you still had to wait. Card payment still not possible.

We have eaten here several times. The portions are a pleasant size, the food is really tasty and there is something for the kids to paint with. With a view over Kassel it is a really nice atmosphere. We always like to come back.

A nice restaurant with a great view. The food, drinks and espresso at the end were excellent. The head waitress or chef de rang was competent, attentive and friendly, The service employee who brought me food and drinks was rather listless. At least he was having fun with his colleagues.

Positive: Great location and view, plenty of parking, the modern part of the restaurant is nicely decorated. Great selection of cakes. Also suitable for large groups with reservation. Negative: The quality of the food wasn't that good, we even had to send a dish back. This was not calculated at the end, very good! Maybe you should limit the selection on the menu and pay more attention to quality. We would come here again for coffee and cake, but not for lunch.

The quality of the food was very poor, we had schnitzel three times and potato pancakes once. Schnitzel was sometimes still very pink and very chewy. The two potato pancakes that were included with the children's menu were good.

Super nice restaurant. I would even say it has the best view in all of Kassel! The staff was a little confused but super friendly and helpful.

I can only recommend the waffle, preferably without topping as it tastes so delicious on its own! A nice terrace to sit outside. And big portions.

Food was good, service staff could have been trained a bit more. The leather chairs were extremely worn out and the armrests were worn and very sticky. I was glad I was wearing something long-sleeved so I didn't have direct contact with the chair.

“Cash only” at the kiosk - that's no longer up to date. Typically German and something from the 90s... Get a card reader and arrive in the 21st century!!! Update to the answer: I had a network - and there is a remedy for something like this too. There are WiFi repeaters and the like - sorry, but that's no excuse, just sitting out the problem at the expense of potential customers. Especially at such a visitor magnet, you should make sure that you are technically up to date. For the tourist it looks like: "Look at the Germans, they're still making cash..." Update on the response from the operator: There are WiFi repeaters - they don't cost €100... Where there's a will, there's a way!

A wonderful view over Kassel from the terrace.

The sights are really great. The food, if it can be called that, was sumptuous but not eatable. Schnitzel was served with fried potatoes and then I suspect that the frying pan had to be refilled. It was so greasy that there was a lot of oil on the plate and the schnitzel was literally overflowing. The next thing is that card payment is not possible at the kiosk and at the ticket sales for the Hercules. It was still possible in the restaurant but independent of the kiosk.

Our food was relatively expensive, generously portioned and tasted too bland for us. But the view of the city of Kassel was magnificent.

We were there at the weekend, but ate in the outdoor restaurant. We were charged 15 euros for a bratwurst (very thin) with fries and a small coke.

Absolut keine Empfehlung! Unser Essen war teilweise absolut ungenießbar. Zum einen wurden teilweise Bestellungen falsch aufgenommen und dann auch noch darüber diskutiert. Zum anderen war das Essen teilweise schlichtweg nicht essbar. Ein Gericht war versalzen, zwei andere schmeckten verdorben. Auch war das Essen an sich nichts besonderes. Der „gebeizte Lachs“ schmeckte genau wie Räucherlachs aus dem Supermarkt, das Schnitzel war ein Schweinefleischlappen mit Panade usw. Die betreffenden Gerichte wurden zum Glück storniert. Auf die Frage, ob es noch ein Nachtisch sein darf, antworteten wir selbstverständlich mit einem klaren Nein.

Very rude supervisor in main restaurant.No way of speaking to clients. Maybe my dark skin was a problem for him. No card payment accepted at kiosk. Place your order and wait for your number to be shouted out across the valley by a grumpy takeaway cook.

Digital payment only from 10 euros 🤔. Welcome to the 21st century. Otherwise a beautiful place that I would have liked to have enjoyed with a drink.

We were here for the first time. The food is ok but the price would be a bit too high for the quality. The plates were so hot that we had to stop our toddler from eating because touching the plate would have caused an immediate burn. I found the service to be rather weak. Employees who move chairs and tables with cigarettes in their mouths, as well as rather flippant communication with customers, do not fit into the atmosphere. Because this one is really great, especially because of its great view. We would come again, but more for the view and to refresh ourselves with drinks. Unfortunately, there are only paid parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.

Very nice view at the back, nice terraces, interesting range of food, etc. It was a pleasant stay right next to Hercules at the water games.

No one noticed us and did not bring a menu, and they forgot about us, and when we came, it turned out that they gave us the wrong menu and they left and forgot about us again. When I came to take the order, it turns out that there are no steaks and the meat kitchen ran out 20 minutes ago (when we already sat down at the table). I don't know how long we sat, but we left. During this time, it was possible to at least accept the order and be in the process of preparation, instead of every time you are approached, something new turns out to delay your meal.

They have typical few light dishes. But a good service, provided by the receptionist.

Totally lousy food. The worst potato salad I have ever eaten. Something that had been poured out of a bag. It was separate and completely tasteless.

Efter at have vandret herop med håb om lidt lokal frokost, fandt vi en Zanderfilet med bønnemos, sauce boullabaise - og chorizo pølse! En eksplosion af velsmag!👍 Total genial!

Order: 4x drink, 2x main course, 2x soup, 2x children's meal. After 15 minutes 3 drinks arrive. Missing drink comes after asking twice after another 10 minutes. Shortly afterwards the two main courses arrive - 4 minutes later the two soups. When we asked why the soup came at the same time as the main courses, we were told off that we didn't say that and she couldn't know that. Another 15 minutes later I asked the other waiter where the children's food was - at a loss. He asks. Come back quickly and say there is no children's meal bonus. But he takes care of it immediately - and he did. By the time the children's dinner is cooked, the little ones have already eaten our food and soup and are no longer very hungry... The original waitress is conspicuous by her absence and doesn't need to apologize. Well, tourist trap - you only come there once anyway.

A fundamentally solid visit. The starters were really well prepared and tasted really delicious. The service was initially very attentive and consistently very nice, friendly and competent. Unfortunately, the service became less and less visible and reorders of drinks were forgotten. Unfortunately, the main course couldn't keep up with the starters. The taste was good, but the plates were either left under the pass for longer or kept warm in some other way. The sauce had drawn on the skin and the plates were unusually hot (not like they came from a plate warmer, but rather like they had been under a heat bridge or in the Holdomat for too long. Unfortunately, for the price, it's not exactly what you should expect. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful evening with a unique view. We would definitely come again.

Aus Anlass eines Geburtstags waren wir zum Abendessen wieder in den Herkules Terrassen. Wir waren von der persönlichen Begrüßung über den liebevoll geschmückten Tisch, das herausragend gute Essen, die Überraschung zum Dessert und die gesamte Betreuung durch Frau Hahn und ihre Helfer total begeistert. Es ist schwer, so etwas Gutes zu finden und noch dazu in so einem fantastischen Ambiente und einer ebensolchen Umgebung. Wir werden wieder kommen, das ist sicher.

Last year when we were visiting Kassel, we stopped off at the Terrassen Restaurant and dined there to our complete satisfaction. The service was very attentive and friendly. Today, however, we were deeply disappointed: 1. We were not greeted as guests by the staff (nor were other guests) 2. The manager showed no flexibility when we wanted to order waffles because he said it was. Already too late for that, even though the “Fresh Waffles” sign was still on the glass display case. 3. We also observed that the staff gave the impression that every move was too much (e.g. to serve a coffee). We were there around 5 p.m. and the restaurant is open until 10 p.m., so you would hope that the manager and staff would be more open to guests than they were right before closing time.

The staff on the beautiful viewing terrace were friendly and took a photo at our request, BUT: instead of the bratwurst with potato salad we ordered, we got currywurst with fries, AND: the menu said juices 0.2 liters and "as a spritzer 0.3 liters 3.90 euros" . I ordered a spritzer and it came in a 0.5 liter glass for 4.90 (but it wasn't even on the menu!) Waiter: "If no size is specified, we'll bring the largest one" = close to cheating. I also had 3 Muslim guests with me, there is no beef sausage instead of bratwurst, so the only choice for them was tarte flambée, fish or sweet waffles = weak. Unfortunately, taking a seat 45 minutes before the start of the water games was not enough to see the start on time.

Unfortunately there are no parasols on the terrace in this weather.

The supply of the coach went smoothly. I didn't like the food. But it was also difficult to please everyone. Fried potatoes were barely fried.

I had a very tasty cheesecake - unfortunately we could only pay with cash.

The view of Kassel is wonderful. The food (tarte flambée) was very good and the cake for dessert was also very tasty. The staff was very accommodating.

I haven't eaten such bad food in a restaurant in a long time. Very small menu, including a vegetarian dish (I find it very unpleasant). The salad I ordered was “drowned” by cheese. For me, as one of the few people who doesn't like cheese, it was a shame that this cheese wasn't listed among the ingredients on the menu. So I didn't have a chance to put this cheese down & couldn't eat my salad. The croutons in the salad were quite hard and just tasted old. My grandma ordered asparagus, which was so badly peeled that she had to finish peeling it on her plate (as best as she could). Apart from the fact that you had to pay a lot of money for this miserable meal (the salad cost €17), the service wasn't particularly friendly and we unfortunately didn't receive an answer to our "bye" when we wanted to leave. All in all just really bad so I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful place with lots of greenery, waterfalls and hiking opportunities. We walked all the way down to different stations. The climb back was of course very arduous, as there were a lot of stairs/steps and stamina was zero 🤣 but it was definitely worth it!!!! PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. It is absolutely breathtaking, both the view up to Hercules and down over the vast city. It's best not to grab your cell phone/camera straight away, but instead enjoy everything with your own eyes and all your senses. Later on the way back you can take a few snapshots to remember, but for now you can really enjoy and be amazed. Devil's Bridge is a great insider tip and unfortunately not signposted everywhere. Very, very beautiful nature, with small streams and waterfalls. The water games take place on Wednesday and Sunday at 3:20 p.m., with gigantic masses of water flowing down from the Devil's Bridge. Unfortunately this time we were there much too early and didn't have this information. So not seen either. Definitely coming back next time to see it.

We were there on June 18th. Eat there in the evening. Location and view are great. Located on Hercules. Therefore, parking fees are mandatory. Even 8.50 on water play days. The prices are high quality. Quality of the wild boar leg was great. The dressing on the Caesar salad was too watery. Salmon on homemade rösti was great.

Unfortunately, service is really not good. You're not even greeted. It takes a long time, although you can see a lot of service staff, but the tables are only half full. The apple pie was still very doughy. The location is really nice and the overall ambience.

Everything is super delicious and always worth a visit, BUT the service is very bad! You stand in line at the counter to order something and look at at least 7 people from the staff and have to wait for them to talk to each other until you can finally order after a few minutes! Today I had to wait 20 minutes for my waffle (which was super delicious)!!!! My coffee was empty! Please work on it a bit, then you'll be TOP 👍🏻

We were there today for the first time after visiting the park. Great location with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, that doesn't make up for the service, which leaves a lot to be desired. The waitress shows no interest in the guest and you look for attention in vain. The first drink order went quite quickly (there was nothing going on at the time), but after that everything took a very long time. The food was good but the price was excessive. We actually wanted to order a drink after dinner and have the menu again. We also told the waitress this. After almost 30 minutes we decided to leave as our request was either forgotten or apparently not important. What a shame! We then went to the counter to pay because we were tired of waiting. Actually a nice restaurant with a great ambience, but unfortunately the attitude of the service staff ruins it. The idea that the guest finances the company and therefore also the job is probably not the case here.

A wonderful view from the sun terrace when the weather is nice

Opening hours extend until 6:00 p.m.; We were there at 5:10 p.m. (it was pretty empty) and we were literally yelled at, telling us not to expect any food. We were taken by surprise and only asked for drinks. These were reluctantly handed over to us - and the cocoa was overpriced and watery. I've actually never been treated like that before. This is my first bad review.

Die Terrassen liegen wirklich gleich neben dem Herkules und bieten einen herrlichen Ausblick. Wir haben uns zum Abendessen in das Restaurant gesetzt. Wegen einer geschlossenen Gesellschaft leider nicht in den Raum mit dem herrlichen Ausblick. Das Essen war dem höheren Preis angemessen. Alles schmeckte sehr gut. Das Ambiente hätte einen Tick ansprechender sein können und der Service hatte offensichtlich gut zu tun. Kartenzahlung ist kein Problem. Fazit: Gutes Essen in toller Lage, gerne wieder!

Food price performance too expensive.

Super Service . Friendly, courteous staff. Were served quickly. Some of the food was really great. The greeting from the kitchen was very sour. The Vitello Tonnato had a cream on it that was a bit spicy, you might have said. The rest of the food was really great.

Today I was in your restaurant with my son. We celebrated a significant event. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and the excellent examination. Our table was served by 2 young men. They were very nice. We felt cared for and attentive. Thank you for everything.

It was our first time eating here and it was very tasty. We'd love to come back.

Interesting view of the valley.

We marched all the way up from Kassel on Whit Monday and were really happy to get something to drink and eat up there, outside and with a great view of Kassel. We weren't sure whether and, if so, what kind of locations awaited us here. The long, tiring journey was worth it! We had a salmon dish and a salad with vegetarian dumplings and afterwards very good cake. Drinks were well provided, the service was very friendly, the food was delicious, the view - everything you could want after a hike like this and much more!

Our first visit to Herkules and Kassel, a lovely afternoon visit with fine cake

I was invited there by my son for Mother's Day - there were 6 of us in total. Our table was beautifully set, the service was very good, the portions were large and very tasty. The prices were OK. What I didn't like, however, were the toilets: there was hardly any toilet paper available, no soap in the dispenser and the towel paper was also empty. And the toilets themselves were very dirty and completely overcrowded. Which certainly has something to do with the fact that everyone who visits Hercules and needs to go to the toilet goes there. Very unpleasant. But all in all we were very satisfied - apart from the toilet problem. We can recommend it!
