We were there on a Sunday morning. The café was quite busy, but we still managed to find a table outside. So, making a reservation is definitely recommended. The breakfast and coffee were excellent, and the prices were perfectly reasonable.

Wonderful atmosphere, very tasty croissants, but finding a seat can be difficult, which also speaks to the good quality ;)

A cozy café where "come as you are" is the motto! The coffee is delicious, the snacks are great – all in all, simply a place to feel good. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Stuttgart!

One bite – whoosh, gone. But hey, if I'm going to be eaten, then here I go. With cappuccino, style, and soul. Bottom line: Herbert'z isn't a café. It's the stage for great breakfast dramas. I died the way I lived: crispy & proud. If you need anything for a fork, espresso, or butter – I'm ready 😄

There is a reason this place is an institution in serving people good breakfast… if I was living nearby I’d never make my own breakfast again.

Well, what you'd expect from a self-service coffee bar at a crossroads. But better than a pseudo-modern establishment.

Shops and cafés like this have unfortunately become incredibly rare – simply a unique experience! There's something going on all day long; there's cake, rolls, and occasionally something warm to eat, but mostly, of course, coffee and drinks. Everyone comes here, whether they're wearing a suit, a hipster, or sweatpants. The service staff have that wonderful blend of friendliness and "I don't care" that's exactly what you need in a shop like this, which is an integral part of the Heusteigviertel district. Please keep it that way, dear Herbertz!

I highly recommend Herbert'z for an early morning latte or cappuccino. Enjoy outside or, if the weather's bad, inside. The breakfast offerings are also delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for those who like a neighborhood feel; it's very relaxed. The beans used for the latte are quite good. The flavor is medium-strong in the milk bath, but the caffeine is there 😁 A small one was enough for me all day. I think it's a shame that they don't use high-quality, tasty milk (just subjective opinion ;-)). That's why they lose one star.

A place where the coffee doesn't just taste good – it delights! Each cup is a small masterpiece, prepared with love and full of aroma. You immediately feel the passion for quality and enjoyment. Add to that the cozy atmosphere that immediately welcomes you, almost like a second home. On the evening of June 26, 2025, there will even be a concert, another highlight at this special café. Perfect coffee, a warm atmosphere, and live music—what more could you want?

A delicious espresso and an incredibly tasty pretzel with cheese at 7 a.m. in a café with a trendy vibe. The service was friendly and cheerful! A day couldn't start better.

Well, after my first official viewing, here on the Internet, I'm already hungry and craving it. Try out the coffee specialties. Interestingly, I read a comment here where someone reported how good their "cortado" tasted. I'm surprised that something like this is served there. As a Portuguese, I know the typical preparation methods from my second home country. The Cortado is nothing more than deacidifying an espresso with a few drops of milk. So that's it. You also like to eat the typical, thick and massive croissants🥐, which are made with eggs, with cheese and cooked ham inside. Or the pastéis de nata. Small pastels with a vanilla and egg cream filling. Or simply “Tostas”. These are large and thick slices of toast. With extra lots of butter 🧈 😁 on it. This is salted in Portugal, liked. With “Cortado” you can typically add a few teaspoons of milk. It tastes really good. Another specialty that can be found practically everywhere in Portugal's gastronomy is the large "Galão". A large glass filled with 90% milk and a small but strong espresso. This small espresso is simply called “bica” there. The word cortado means nothing other than cut.

We celebrated our son's 18th birthday at Café Herbert'z and were absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere was authentic, the team was super friendly and attentive. The drinks were great and the entire evening went smoothly. Many thanks to the team for the great support – we’ll be happy to come back!

We wanted to go in for a coffee and a snack, but while we were standing in line and watching the coffee being prepared and served, a huge number of questions arose regarding the sanitation and hygiene of the service... In the end, we still did not dare to wait for our turn and place an order. Perhaps next time everything will look different and more attractive for placing an order

Unpretentious and not as commercially and impersonally designed as other cafés in Stuttgart. It feels like a cozy student café, only for 'adults' ;): a nice meeting place for a wide variety of people of different ages and the coffee is really particularly good.

A stay at the Christmas market. Recommended for breakfast the next day after enjoying the market. Far from the center but within walking distance. A variety of sandwiches and a plate of scrambled eggs. Regulars and families from the neighborhood as well. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and is perfect for spending a relaxing morning. Coffee is also delicious.

We were here with the Schlemmerblock and we really enjoyed it. Very friendly service, a lot of effort was put into a standard coffee with milk, the breakfast was pretty basic but really tasty. Cozy atmosphere and even though I'm afraid of dogs, they didn't bother me at all. We would love to come back and can recommend the café.

The Herbert’z is a true institution in Stuttgart. The first café of its kind, it opened in 1995, at a time when Stuttgart was still dominated by traditional patisseries and old-school coffee shops. Inspired by the old Viennese coffee houses that served as a social meeting place in Grätzl, Herbert'z brings together artists and economists, socialists and capitalists at one table to discuss the world over a cup of coffee. Here you can get the best sandwiches and an à la carte breakfast - the perfect place in Stuttgart to experience and enjoy this unique ambience.

Great place for both a coffee and just working ! It is quite unusual to have a complete lap-top working friendly coffee shop on weekends in Stuttgart. The coffee is also great, definitely enjoyable to sit for whole day and talking with friends or just working on your own

Very familiar café in which you quickly feel at home and comfortable. The croissant and of course the espresso are highly recommended. The location is great right on Mozartplatz, where a lot of positive things have happened recently. In summer the outdoor area is simply beautiful, while in winter the oven and the very cozy atmosphere invite you to linger.

A bar that is second to none and that every city should have. !!! Very tasty, very friendly and even 3/4 hour after the kitchen closed there was still something warm to eat. Simply top!!!!

Unfortunately, the café hasn't heard much about cleanliness. The dishes (especially the spoons and the container in which the spoons were stored) were simply dirty. The tables full of crumbs. I saw what the previous person had had breakfast. The toilet without words! It's a shame, because the espresso is actually delicious.

Easily 5 stars! Had breakfast here for the first time today. Cool atmosphere, everyone gets involved somewhere. The food is very rich and tasty and, above all, the price-performance ratio is right - you like to eat outside 🥰 definitely stop by!

Had a espresso and an Aperol spritz, amazing to find a place that serves both. Good music great atmosphere. Art, hard wood floors, cozy wood fire. Comfortable furniture. A great spot to stop and relax.

Schönes Café, entspannte Atmosphäre und nettes Publikum. Wir haben Brötchen mit Gemüseomelett und Cappuccino gefrühstückt. Uns hat es gefallen und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Morgens einen Kaffee getrunken. Gut aussehender, junger, blonder Mann hinter der Maschine. Hat einen Kaffee gemacht, dass der Hosenboden flattert. Dazu ungewöhnlich toller Charme hat meinen Morgen versüßt.! Man könnte sich dran gewöhnen ;).

Wir waren jetzt zum ersten Mal hier für eine geschlossene Veranstaltung und haben die Räumlichkeiten und den herzlichen Service sehr genossen. Das wäre definitiv ein Stammlokal, wenn es in der Nähe wäre.

Seit 2002 Kaffee Genuss auf hohem Niveau. Immer freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Komme immer wieder gerne hier her.

Ganz okay. An dieser Stelle muss ich erwähnen, dass ich Barista bin und mich in der Welt der Siebträger bestens auskenne. Espresso: Die Brühtemperatur war genau richtig. Dem Auge nach zu urteilen wurden dunkle Bohnen verwendet, nach der Sorte habe ich nicht gefragt. Leider war der Shot zu sauer, was höchstwahrscheinlich am Mahlgrad liegt. Leider nicht gut zubereitet. Cappuccino: Hier war sehr viel Milch drin, obwohl ich mir einen normalen Cappuccino und keinen Flat White bestellt habe. Ich habe damals gelernt, dass man das machen sollte, wenn die Bohnen nicht gut sind, um den Espressogeschmack zu vertuschen :) Obwohl ich hier etwas unzufrieden bin, war die Temperatur der Milch angemessen. Leider kein Latte Art, sondern einfach nur Milchschaum druff. Für den Otto Normalverbraucher, der einen Kaffee trinken möchte, der ganz okay schmeckt, ist Herbert'z meiner Meinung nach eine Option. Das Ambiente und die Bedienung sind nett. Man macht sicherlich nichts falsch, wenn man hier einen Kaffee trinkt. Für den Kaffeeliebhaber, der zu Hause mindestens 30 verschiedene Brühmethoden auf Lager hat und viel experimentiert, um den optimalen Geschmack zu erzielen, ist Herbert's vermutlich nicht die erste Wahl. Mir ist an dieser Stelle auch wichtig zu betonen, dass es sich hierbei um meine subjektive Meinung handelt. Jeder hat einen anderen Geschmack und in meiner Bubble kenne ich viele, die auf einen säuerlichen Espresso abfahren, während ich eher der englische Typ bin und auf bittere espressi schwöre. Vielleicht hab ich auch nur zwei schlechte Tage erwischt. Also gerne selber einen Eindruck machen. Was auch zählt, ist das Ambiente und die herzlich nette Art - allein deshalb kann man ein Auge zudrücken, weshalb ich sicherlich irgendwann mal wieder mit friends zum Herbert'z komme. Dann eben nicht für das einmalige Kaffeeerlebnis, sondern um abzuhängen und einen okayen Kaffee zu trinken.

Ein kleines und feines Örtchen zum Einkehren. Guten Kaffee und leckeren Kuchen hatten wir hier. Das Interieur ist bunt gemischt und versprüht einen Charme, den wir sehr schätzen.

Tolles Atmosphäre! Hat alles einen gewissen Charme überall. Der Kaffee war wirklich gut, vom Mittagsessen haben wir nichts probiert, sah aber super aus. Service auch sehr freundlich und die Preise sind gerechtfertigt.

Sehr voll am Sonntagfrüh gegen 11 Uhr, aber eine sehr gute, entspannte Atmosphäre, dazu leckeres Rührei mit Feta und Tomate, gutes Bircher Müsli, nicht zu süß, gutes Käsecroissant und top Kaffee! Sehr zu empfehlen! Preislich sehr annehmbar! Bravo!

Wundervolles Café im Stuttgarter Süden! Wir waren hier an einem Sonntag Nachmittag! Der Kaffee und der Cappuccino war perfekt zubereitet! Geschmacklich mit Abstand der beste in der Stadt! Die Gerichte die es gab, toll zubereitet, geschmacklich super und auch toll präsentiert auf dem Teller! Das belegte Laugencroissant das unsere Tochter wollte, frisch und toll belegt! Meine Frau hatte die Bratkartoffeln, frisch und knusprig, dazu einen tollen Salat. Meine Maultaschen mit Ei waren super und der Salat dazu ein Traum! Das Café hat viele Sitz und auch steh Gelegenheiten drinnen und auch draußen. Unbedingt hin wer einen gute Kaffee will oder lecker essen möchte
