Heid's Grill & Restaurant in Heidelberg

In wonderful weather we were able to enjoy the beautiful garden, the staff was friendly, the food was phenomenal, even if we ended up in a grill house as vegetarians...it was a culinary and super cozy highlight, we'll be happy to come back here!

We like being at Heid's because everything is just right here. The quality, the ambience and above all the great and very hard-working staff. There is also enough choice for vegetarians. However, it's a shame that pizza will soon be gone - it's great. For this “all-round package” you can pay more on a special evening.

As always, great service, friendly, courteous and very attentive! In addition, really tasty meat, great salad, nothing more to add!! Everything just fits!! We have been coming there 2-3 times a month for about 5 years now and can fully recommend it.

The side dishes of potatoes were no longer what I was used to from you, so no 5 stars for food

Everything is really right here, the location, both inside and out, the ambience, the service, there is a live DJ and the steak is even grilled on charcoal and is of perfect quality.

Good steak restaurant with upscale prices. Ambience very pleasant, service very friendly and attentive. And last but not least, very good food.

Their website says they close at 00:00 on Sundays. We went at 21:45 and were told the kitchen is closed and they aren't serving new customers.

This is a difficult review to write, the US prime rib eye was the best steak I have eaten in Germany, the salad and sweet potato fries were wonderful. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was wonderful. The problem? I have never in my lifetime seen a ribeye cut so thin. Come on guys, it should have been at least 1 cm, if not 2, thicker. Fix that and you will have a truly great ribeye! My favorite meal is grilled ribeye with a side of grilled ribeye! 😀

1st visit: A wonderful evening in a warm, relaxed atmosphere! I had already been in contact with the team before the visit. A special birthday meal with special table decorations was my wish and... there were actually roses on the table and the table was covered with little hearts! The food and drink was indescribably good! Thanks to the team for their effort! 2nd visit: Extremely polite & courteous staff! Our seat outside on a sandstone wall was perfect given the temperature. Refreshing lemonade, Australian strip loin, beef fillet and crème brûlée for dessert. Another one of the best dinners of our lives! An absolute recommendation for fans of high quality food. We'll be back! P.S.: Crème brûlée would be even better if it was topped with some fruit :-D

Excellent restaurant! Excellent meat

Absolutely great place. Parking was confusing, but only because I'm American and not from a bigger city. Even then, I only walked maybe two or three minutes from a parking garage I found a street over! Wait staff was great, especially as reservations are apparently normally requested, but as I was a single Diner they were able to accommodate me on short notice. The food was phenomenal as well, although I got a chuckle out of having to order a "lady portion" because I didn't want a huge steak :-) They had a homemade bread that was equally as good, and in general the Ambiance was extremely good.

We had dinner at Heid's on April 12, 2025 with 6 people and a small dog. I reserved the table online. Everything worked great and we had a table with a corner bench. So we sat a little apart and our dog could calm down. It was a great evening. The service was very friendly and attentive. It wasn't the last time we were there and we'd love to come back.

Modern design, fresh products, delicious food, friendly service. Bonus point for the music and the mood created by the DJ, which you don't expect in such a place. A small minus is the location - a few kilometers from the city center, but on a large street. It has its own parking lot.

Good, but also quite expensive steak restaurant. The ambience and service are great, reservations are absolutely necessary (the last seat was full, which speaks for the hotel). Recommendation!

We had a great dinner at Heid's restaurant. The person who served us was very friendly and charming. The cocktail was delicious. The steaks couldn't have been more perfectly cooked. One of the best steak houses around.

An all-around successful evening! Advance reservations were definitely recommended, as demand seemed high. The ambiance pleasantly surprised us – perhaps understated from the outside, but very inviting inside. Despite the large number of guests and a DJ, there was a pleasant background noise that facilitated good conversation. The service was first-class, always there when needed, but never intrusive. The food was a real highlight! Only the side dishes could have been presented with a little more care to perfect the overall experience. The value for money is absolutely fair. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

First of all… the food was very good! The steaks are of great quality. The starter bread tasted very good and the olive oil had a great taste. The service staff is great. Very friendly and accommodating. So it wasn't that good?! In this price range I would expect homemade steakhouse fries. Ours were more of a frozen quality/taste. Unfortunately, the chairs are much too narrow for people with “strong” thighs (reminiscent of a children’s chair😉) and they wobble extremely. You don't really get the feeling that they are stable. Why don't we have decent/comfortable chairs?! The atmosphere itself is very nice, but when it gets more crowded, the volume level is quite high and you can actually only have a conversation by “leaning forward” and talking loudly. Overall a nice restaurant, upper price range with great food. One would perhaps expect a little more “comfort” in this price range.

We were here at Heid's with our Korean guests for a business dinner and had a very comfortable stay. The service was very friendly, helpful, and quick. The food was amazing! We had several different steaks, and everyone was more than satisfied. Perfectly cooked to perfection and very tasty! The extensive wine list with excellent recommendations was also very well received. The desserts are extensive and incredibly delicious! The prices are high, but justified by the excellent quality and very good service. Overall, we felt very well looked after, and our Korean guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves here! Highly recommended for a special experience. Thank you!

We had dinner here and the food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is decorated nicely and it's always busy. I would recommend reserving a table. We deducted two stars because the prices are extremely high and the portions are very small. Also the ambience is not adequate compared to the prices. If you have an unlimited budget you can eat delicious food here.

We had 5x Lady's Cut and prawns Piri Piri as a starter. 1000% recommended. I wanted to try a new wine and the Argentinian, Los Incotables Black Malbec, was a delight and exceeded my expectations. Thank you Heid's for this outstanding service, your delicate wine selection and the incredibly, fantastically delicious food 🔥💯🔥. Oh, and a very elegant solution for smokers was found 😉

At 5 p.m. on Sundays there was already a queue in front of the restaurant... many families with children. cozy atmosphere.. many reserved tables... fast, friendly service.. delicious home-baked bread with olive oil as a greeting from the kitchen. that Food, specifically the meat. We felt comfortable and it was a special experience for us. Price performance was appropriate. A lovely evening with particularly good food. Recommended.

I actually really like this restaurant and go there often. I always order Surf&Turf (ladies cut beef steak with lobster tail). I am a white woman with a foreign accent. Yesterday was the first time that my dinner date was not a man but a woman (not white) who also spoke my language. It was also the first time that I was asked if I wanted to check the price of the lobster before I ordered it. Twice. The waitress was a young woman. Heids had been my happy place until yesterday. In 2025 women will also be able to afford a steak 🥩 with lobster 🦞. Also, my food was a bit cold 🥲

A real highlight in Heidelberg – Heid’s Grill I had the great pleasure of visiting Heid’s Grill in Heidelberg and all I can say is: what an experience! As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will notice the beautiful ambience - stylish, cozy and designed with great attention to detail. You immediately feel comfortable. The service was absolutely great. The entire team was incredibly attentive, friendly and professional. You can immediately tell that people work here with real passion. To eat: A poem! I had the beef tenderloin, pulpo arm and a side salad - all cooked to perfection. The beef fillet was tender, cooked to perfection and had a fantastic aroma. The pulp was wonderfully tender with a slight roasted aroma, just as it should be. The side salad was fresh, crunchy and refined with a perfectly balanced dressing. The absolute highlight was the Kaiserschmarren at the end. Wonderfully fluffy, with vanilla ice cream and sour cherries – a perfect dessert! Conclusion: Heid’s Grill is a real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy excellent food in a beautiful ambience. I'll definitely be back!

Exactly what it claims to be... a super Steak place. Well located, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Busy at times, better to book especially at weekends. It will cost you a hunni for two meals two drinks a shared dessert and a bottle of water. I especially like the different zones they have..whether just for two, a business table, or a party of 10..they cater for all types.

The food was top-notch, ordered medium and received. Very good quality meat! Pleasant and stylish atmosphere. Great service team, everyone very friendly and attentive. Reservation is highly recommended as the restaurant is very busy even during the week.

Super nice shop! I am an independent restaurateur myself and am often disappointed when I go out to eat. Here the waiter was 100% attentive and enjoyed his job. The atmosphere was very warm and warmly decorated. We got great quality food and drinks and the portions were really big. The price is a little more expensive, but considering the amount of good staff, the location and the many add-ons that Heid's offers, it is completely justified. Greetings to the waiter who explained to me what the “weeds” on the plate were :)

Hands down best Steakhouse in Germany.

It was our first time here but one thing in advance it won't be the last time!! After we were warmly welcomed, we were brought to the table and handed over the drinks and menu. We sat in the fireplace room. A short time later our waitress came and took the order for the drinks and food. We already knew in advance what we wanted to try. There is a surprising amount of staff on site, which is extremely well organized. From the starters to the main courses, it is a pure culinary delight. Very tasty, well prepared and the meat is tender with an intense beef flavor and butter. Thank you for the great experience with you. It's nice to see that there are still such passionate catering businesses. Keep it up!!! Unfortunately we now have to revise our rating again. We visited again after a long time. First of all, food service ambience is still just great!!! But what really bothered us was that there were some dog owners with their dogs who unfortunately had no control over their animals. We are dog owners ourselves and wouldn't even think of taking our dog to a restaurant! Animals simply have no business there! I also can't imagine that a high-quality restaurant like Heid's needs to welcome dog owners with their animals. A clear “No Go” from us for animals in a restaurant!!!

American steak restaurant in the best sense of the word. Particularly recommended: Surf and Turf and Whiskey Sour (also offered in New York style).

One star deducted because the prices are now quite steep.

Price-performance unfortunately far too expensive. Argentinian rump steak + side dishes “side dishes complete” just under €50. Meat was supposed to be medium, was medium well and unfortunately too dry. Unfortunately the portion is much too small. Starter (tartare was ok - 25€). Mojito for €11 tasted below average (too little cane sugar) - water was forgotten on the first round of orders. Service OK. Paid a total of €110, far too expensive for what I ultimately received.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit here. Above average prices with poor service. We had the Argentinian rump steak (€38.20 without side dish). Unfortunately, the piece of meat was very mixed and the cooking point was missed. We pointed this out to the waiter and he sent a second waiter. Finally the restaurant manager came to our table. When we explained the situation to him, he wasn't very accommodating and the conversation was more like an interrogation. He finally offered us a piece of meat that was cheaper than our original meat. But only half a portion of it. All in all, the high price doesn't match the service and the average food.

Very good steakhouse in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. I ate the best steak in Germany here. The ribeye steak was outstanding. You don't really need anything as a side dish. But the grilled vegetables were delicious. Price-performance ratio is ok.

The food was good, but given the high prices, I expected larger portions or higher-quality meats. I also ordered a dessert, but I didn’t enjoy it much. It is a nice place to visit for special occasions.

Very nice atmosphere, nice that a real DJ plays instead of a playlist, some very nice employees, some very unfriendly. However, what isn't possible: My friend wanted 250g of the cheap steak (instead of 200 and 300g). It was then pointed out that you had 200, 280g and 300g (but not that the 280g was another much more expensive type of meat). This was then calculated (and not corrected after being spoken to) and the expensive steak wasn't even particularly good. Beef carpaccio was too cold but otherwise high quality, vegetables were extremely fatty, the pizza was good. Still, don't thank you again (except pizza)... not in proportion to price/performance ratio.
