This year we went to Heidelberg twice and to Heid's Essen three times. It's just amazing there. The ambience, the food and drinks, and the service. Just great. It is my absolute favorite restaurant.

Very well organized service, the atmosphere is also really appealing. The food was also very good, I only found the prices of the drinks a bit exaggerated.

Still very good food and very friendly service

We can only afford to eat here once or twice a year but we've been doing it for about 10 years! It's not cheap but everything is just right. Meat quality, nasty and service everything was top!!!

Very, very hot meat, I like to come more often. There is still one negative, we waited a little long for the food even though there were two of us. Others came after us who ordered a lot more than us and had their food earlier. I hope next time it doesn't take so long. See you next time

Heid's is always worth a visit. The menu is dominated by meat dishes and wood-fired pizzas. The meat is extremely good, fried to perfection and comes with delicious side dishes. Here I learned that even cooked carrots can taste good, and that's saying something ;-) - When it comes to pizza, you don't have to choose a type, because there is also the option of ordering a pizza half/half: Exactly my taste. Yummy! The atmosphere is created by a DJ who plays groovy but not intrusive music. The waitresses are very friendly, attentive and also respond to special requests. Children are also welcome here. In any case, I'm happy every time I'm here again. Update: During our last visit we noticed that the service was very (very!) attentive, in our opinion perhaps a little too attentive. This seemed a bit forced and "stressful" - and we felt that the service might have been a bit under pressure. Don't misunderstand: the evening was really nice, so the 5 stars remain. But a little bit less exertion and more relaxation (like before) wouldn't hurt. :-)

Food was really great. Starter, the Manzo tonnato, was great. My entrecote was perfectly medium-rare, as requested. Unfortunately, my colleague's was a bit overdone - he had ordered it rare and it was medium. The taste is still really great. The side dishes were good. The mashed potatoes stand out again. Service was super friendly and I think it's great that you're treated in a relaxed manner. The fact that restaurants sometimes require the waitresses to behave in such an exaggeratedly elegant manner towards every customer is absolutely not my case. In any case, we were very satisfied with our visit. Keep it up!

Eigentlich wollten wir zu Besuch in Heidelberg nur lecker Steaks essen (5 hungrige Männer)... Unsere Speisen waren ausnahmslos on point (Menge, Zusammenstellung, Garpunkt) -hat uns alle sehr beeindruckt (!) - zum Essen wurde ja bereits viel geschrieben. Aber: Das Konzept, das Ambiente, die musikalische Untermalung sind so stimmig und unsere (subjektiv) Sternebedienung hat diesen Eindruck dann komplettiert. Die ein oder andere nicht nichtalkoholische Spezialität der Getränkekarte hat der guten Stimmung und unserer positiven Wahrnehmung sicher nicht geschadet und wir nehmen eine schöne Erfahrung mit und kommen sicher wieder. Dank an Küche, Bar, DJ uuuund Dani!

If you want to eat really chic and in a nice atmosphere, this is the place for you. I ate here with my family of 7 people. Everyone was very satisfied. Although different tastes. The selection of good meat is enormous. The price here is a bit high. But if you look at the quality of the dishes, it's okay. The service staff is friendly and quick, but without being hectic. Waitress very friendly, was shocked that I didn't want dessert. She also threw my parmesan on the floor and blamed me😂 My cutlery was also checked to make sure I actually ate the dessert. Will come back for the funny waitress.

Mediocre food at overpriced prices

A pretty stylish and pricey place, kinda surprising for its location. Service was impeccable, and the selection of beef cuts is very good. A shame that the steak then was way oversalted.

Food and service great as always. Unfortunately it was a bit drafty in the winter garden, but this was due to a problem with the air conditioning. But we were offered an alternative table and a schnapps to warm up. This is customer service.

Top address for good steak and good service

The Oberhammer 🤩 We were allowed to sit down at Heidi's on Saturday evening. There were 4 of us and we didn't have a reservation because we weren't from the area are. Despite the full house, the reservation list was briefly shuffled around and we were allowed to take a seat. This is already a great +point from the gentleman who assigned us the place. Afterwards we continued with really great service. Salad, drinks, food, everything was top. The meat is really tender and exactly on point. I can only recommend the restaurant and thanks to the great service and the very nice location.🙏😋

Simply MEGA delicious. Definitely the most expensive steaks in HD.

A very cool restaurant that is inconspicuous from the outside, which gives the first impression that it belongs to an upper class. But that's not the case. As soon as you enter you are greeted by very friendly and courteous staff and assigned to a seat. Since we were very early and arrived without a reservation, we were very lucky to get a spot. But it's definitely better to make a reservation next time. The selection of food is very manageable, as is the selection of drinks. Of course, the prices make you swallow at first, but in return you get really good food and high-quality meat that is perfectly fried. Repetition is definitely possible.

The tapas were okay, but nothing special. Quality of the meat was perfect. Side dishes were okay, fries were too salty and the vegetables were very few. Service has clearly deteriorated. Price-performance ratio is no longer right.

Very unusual for me to give 5 star rating, but the steak at this place was the best I have ever had in the UK or other parts of Europe. Beer was quite good too and service was also excellent, hence the rating. Keep up the quality of food, drink and the service Heid’s 👍

We ate there today and had dinner. Were served and ordered immediately. Not a long wait, everything was correct. The absolute hammer. Great food. Always my pleasure. The service was incredibly friendly. The ambience was incredibly beautiful, BUT, €7.50 for a bottle of water and €17.50 for wild broccoli was a bit steep. I don't want to deduct any points because it was really good, but the two prices, you might think about it. Meant with love 🫶🏻

Klassisches Amerikan-Steakhouse Ambiente. Schöne Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen. Gute Auswahl an verschiedenen Steaks. Gute und schmackhafte Fleischqualität. Gewünschte Garstufe getroffen. Leckere Beilagenauswahl inkl. Saucen.

Were there on the weekend. The ambience is very nice inside, even bigger than expected, but unfortunately it doesn't seem that way from the outside... The service was very good, also very attentive and seemed organized. Unfortunately I find the prices too expensive and not really justified. The drinks prices in particular are very exaggerated... Almost €6 for a juice spritzer and more than €4 for 0.2 cola is simply too expensive. The food is expensive… The meat has a high price and then you have to pay an additional €9 to have the sauce and side dish…. The vegetarian dishes aren't really enough either...

Das Essen und das Ambiente waren wirklich sehr sehr gut. Das einzigste, was mich etwas gestört hat, war die etwas zu laute Musik im Hintergrund. Wenn aber man das weiß, kann man ja das nächste Mal bei der Platzbuchung den Hinweis geben, dass man einen Tisch mit weniger Musik haben möchte. Das ist auch möglich. Wir waren das erste Mal dort. Auch fand ich es nicht prickelnd, dass Hunde erlaubt waren, was sich natürlich durch Hundegebell bemerkbar gemacht. Für die Musik und 100 deshalb ein Stern Abzug. Aber rein das Essen und auch das Servicepersonal war wirklich Mega gut, muss man wirklich sagen. Ich hatte ein Fleischgericht mit Salat. Die Portionen waren gut, man ist wirklich satt geworden.

Best steak restaurant in Heidelberg but expensive

Had dinner with 13 people from all around the world after a long day meeting; we chose à la carte and most ordered a wonderful piece of meat with different side dishes.. they managed to serve all of us together and meat was exactly as everyone ordered; meat, sauces, bread, salat - all was so delicious! Great, friendly, professional and fast staff, too! We will return for sure:-).

Quaint but pleasant restaurant. Beautiful area in the winter garden, unfortunately a bit too loud to have a quiet conversation when there are lots of visitors. Food was first class, nothing to complain about. Service was good and tried very hard.

This was our second time visiting Heitz. Service and food were again very tasty. We can only recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We went to Heid's on Friday because of the good reviews. We were very positively surprised by the stylish ambience, the friendly service and the good music from the in-house DJ. The food was really good and my husband especially loved the dessert. The portions were adequate, the vegetable side dish with the steak could have been a little more generous. The price for the quality served was OK. Highly recommended for a perfect culinary evening.

Excellent food service and atmosphere

Food was ok, everything tasted good. But I have to say it's unfortunately not appropriate for this price. Unfortunately the steak was a bit tough on one side and almost bloody on the other side. But thank God we had a very nice evening with friends and the service people were also great. But there are better restaurants for these prices 🤷🏻‍♂️

For starters we had fantastic prawns, highly recommended. The ribeye is simply awesome, as are all the other meat components. I was a little disappointed with the side dishes. The fries were too flabby for my taste and there was too much cream on the carrots. But who goes to a steakhouse for the side dishes? The chairs in the outdoor area are too narrow and uncomfortable for me, unfortunately they don't invite you to linger for a long time, even if the ambience is otherwise very nice and there is nice entertainment from a DJ.

Thank you for another successful evening! We were a larger group of colleagues and were able to be happy with you, express our many wishes and special requests, sit for a long time, laugh loudly and enjoy wonderfully delicious food. 10/10, any time again!

I was surprised by the beautiful ambience, I didn't expect that. Airy and open, as it was still very warm outside, but you could still close the doors if the draft was too fresh. The service was very attentive without being intrusive, and we didn't have to wait too long for food and drinks. The food itself was of the highest quality, the cooking of the meat was spot on for every guest at the table. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for us and it won't be the last time we'll be there. Sure it's not cheap to eat there but it was definitely worth the price.

The service here really stands out. It was our first time there and the menu was explained to us first. All questions were answered and allergies were also taken into account. The salad with goat cheese as a starter was delicious, as was the small salad, but the types could have been a little more varied. The bread that came with it was very tasty! Both steaks we had as a main course were grilled to the desired degree of doneness and were beautifully tender. Unfortunately, the carrots and grilled vegetable side dish was almost cold and not very tasty. I also ordered wild broccoli, which tasted great, but I thought there should be a little more on the plate for the price than five stalks. The fries were super crispy and well salted. Homemade lemonade and iced tea are recommended drinks. Overall, the points of criticism mentioned are acceptable, we would definitely come back.

Wir waren bis ca 2020 sehr regelmäßig im Heids, vor allem wegen der tollen Chuleton-Steaks. irgendwann gabs die nicht mehr, Plätze reservieren wurde immer schwieriger, also sind wir woanders zum Steak essen hingefahren. Es war reiner Zufall, dass wir kurzfristig ein Steakrestaurant gesucht haben. Und siehe da, es gab ein, für uns wenigstens, neues reservierungstool, und man konnte endlich wieder spontan Plätze reservieren. Das Essen war eine Wucht, Steakauswahl OK, aber Chuletons gab es keine mehr. Fleischqualität war extrem gut. Service und Ambiente waren klasse. Nach dieser rundum positiven Erfahrung, bin ich sicher, dass wir ab sofort wieder öfter Gast im Heid's sein wollen.
