Heidekrug in Oberursel (Taunus)

A little bit of Korea in the middle of Germany! We spontaneously came here for dinner today and actually got a table and decided on the Korean BBQ. What can I say, the meat was of excellent quality and was incredibly tender and tasty. Pork and beef were both recommended! The side dishes were also really good and transported us back to Seoul. The fact that you can reorder all the side dishes as often as you like is also a real plus. And as is usual in Korea, there is tea to pour yourself. The staff is super friendly, fast and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

This is a restaurant that will comfort your stomach after a trip to Europe. For 15 euros, the taste is almost the same as in Korea. Galbitang seems to be more expensive in Korea... So delicious Best of all, it's nice to have barley tea with warm water. The side dishes are also delicious. A family of 9 stopped by and ate it all up.

Super authentic delicious cuisine

This is a Korean restaurant I visit every time I go on a business trip. I definitely come here once or twice every 2-3 days, and I even take it out. When I go abroad, I crave more Korean food. I've tried many Korean restaurants, but this one is the best! Especially the value for money for lunch is great! The taste and quality are good and the staff are all very friendly. It's best to make a reservation in advance by phone! By the way, I am the most envious of dog lovers because I can bring a dog with me🥹 (I need to get some training though😅) Personally, I highly recommend altang! The galbitang (galbitang) has plenty of meat and is tender, and the brisket soybean paste is delicious as well. The kimchi stew and grilled meat are not good😋 There is also a group room, so it's great for gatherings with employees. It’s great because it’s open until 10 o’clock on days when you arrive by evening flight.🥰 I've been going for a few years, but I don't have many pictures because I'm busy eating, but I'll try to upload them often.

We had a fantastic evening at Heidekrug! What was particularly impressive about the manager was that he was not only incredibly friendly and accommodating, he also grilled the meat for us himself. The meat was a real highlight, perfectly grilled and incredibly tasty. You immediately notice how much passion and attention to detail he has. Thank you for this unforgettable experience! We will definitely be back and can only warmly recommend the Heidekrug.

It's outside Frankfurt Taste like a Korean restaurant in Korea! The service is friendly too! Reservation is required! In addition to pork belly, there is also beef on the menu. There are many other Korean foods, so I recommend them!

This place is great overall. The staff is very nice the food tastes very good and the atmosphere is great but there can still be some improvement. There is no Ttobbokki on the menu and the restaurant is classified as a hotel on Google maps.

Came for lunch before flying out of FRA. PanChan was excellent. Bbq pork belly was flavored well but dry and had bones. This is good for Korean in Germany but wouldn’t go out of the way to visit.

The manager was very kind, and the Korean and foreign staff were also very kind. Even though it's cold outside, the people working on charcoal say goodbye! I've been stopping by this place every time I come to Frankfurt for a few years now, but I was surprised that there are now a lot more Germans than Koreans^^ However, they didn't know how to grill the meat, so they cut the raw pork belly into small pieces before grilling it. I didn't even know what the side dishes were (she asked me sitting next to me if the seasoned crab was cooked or uncooked), so I think it needs an explanation! Also, as soon as I went inside, it was full of smoke, so I think I need ventilation. I have to be prepared for the smell to get on my clothes, but... It's that delicious. Well, it’s so crowded that it’s hard to push a stroller. Anyway, I enjoyed it so much. Thank you.

The food here is fresh, well seasoned and very well crafted. The waitress was very friendly and smiling which adds the nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We dined at the estaurant to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious and plentiful; we enjoyed Korean BBQ, dumplings, kimchi pancake, seafood pancake, bulgogi, and dessert. The staff was pleasant, and we had a wonderful time.

Design is nice after renovation, however, staff hardly speak German, nor is their English that good. We had miscommunication that leads to cooked dish we did not order. One remark to avoid that is that staff has to repeat what has been ordered. This was not done! Also for BimBimbap please make the stone hotter, to provide the rice to be crisp ! Also Bugolgi please offer one on hotplate with rice. Also the Exhaust has to be stronger. The BBQ smell is not pleasant and gives the feeling we are entering a fastfood joint!!!

This is a restaurant and not a hotel. Thus, wrongly classified on Google. We had very high expectations due to great reviews and recommendations from friends. We were unfortunately disappointed. We ordered the selection of different meats and most of it was chewy. The restaurant should also point out that it comes with different side dishes e.g. crab. We ended up over ordering. The Gyozas were dry and not tasty. Shame. We would have liked a good Korean BBQ

After a hard day, I didn't have the energy to cook, so I ate out. It was as comforting and delicious as if I was in Korea, so I felt energized. Even the children were in a good mood due to the overflowing kindness of the manager who took good care of them as always. Even the short-haired male staff member who always greeted me cheerfully... I was disappointed that I couldn't leave a tip because he didn't bring cash. It's nice to have a Korean restaurant like this in an unfamiliar country. It's a popular place, so reservations are a must, and it's the most Korean-style and delicious of all the Korean restaurants I've been to in Frankfurt. For lunch, I recommend salted fish, stir-fried squid, and steamed kimchi, and the dinner meat is delicious as it is charcoal-grilled, and the basic table setting is good.

Heidekrug. If you go down the atmospheric Oberursel mountain path, you will see a small sign. There is a spacious parking lot inside, and at first glance it doesn't seem to be a Korean restaurant, but... The food's good in general but not too many varieties. When you come in, you'll greet with the smell of BBQ . There was a pile of water on the floor at the toilet. Their little cart to carry dirty plates is covered with bits of food. For such a restaurant, they should pay more attention to hygiene and cleaning. They forgot the beer ordered. There's a free parking lot but the location is quite out of nowhere.

Spectacular! From the moment I arrived, I knew I was at the right place. I was greeted by a large free parking lot. It’s actually one of the best Korean restaurants that I’ve eaten at in Germany. Everything is cooked with quality ingredients. No shortcuts on meal preparation taken here. Definitely will become a regular customer.

Never again!!! Put too much emphasis on frying. My cousin got bulgogi and had to puke on the spot!!!!! Update: My cousin has food poisoning and can't eat anymore! We want our money back! First an hour through traffic jams then 120€ for something like that….

The food is far too expensive for the taste, it is far too fatty or far too sweet, the meat marinade tastes exactly like a ready-made marinade from the Korean supermarket!!! They place far too much value on the grill!!!

Excellent Korean restaurant very authentic Korean food. The best in Germany totally recommend if you are looking for authentic Korean food.

The service at this restaurant was unbearable, almost like a nightmare. The waitstaff's cold attitude made the entire dining experience feel heavy and awkward. When ordering, they showed obvious impatience, as if every request we made was a burden to them, leaving us feeling completely unappreciated as customers. I wish I could forget this experience immediately and have no desire to ever return.

At least an ㅇㅇㅇ level Korean restaurant has opened in the mountains of Germany. The harmony of rolled king ribs and crab hangover soup is exquisite!!

Open run was held on Saturday 10/26. I thought there would be a seat since it was an open run. All seats are full. The manager asked for the understanding of a person who came alone, so we ate. thank you

We took a group to dinner here after finishing a tradeshow week in downtown Frankfurt. It was a beautiful scenic drive up the hills to Heidekrug. The staff all spoke German, English, Korean, and even Japanese. They took care of our group extremely well (Thanks Mr.Kim). The food is superb. Every dish we had was unique and paired well with the bbq meats, which are cooked with quality long burning coals. I will be sure to visit HEIDEKRUG again next time I visit Frankfurt or any city that Heidekrug might expand to...(Munich 😉) ! EAT AT HEIDEKRUG !!!

Can't say too much about location except that it was about a 35 minute drive from Frankfurt Messe in a park like area. Settings were a 4, distance made it a "2" in terms of distance from city. Food was very good, as good as the best NYC Korean BBQs, different pancakes were crispy, LA galbi was good quality, beefy with enough fat to be rich, but not greasy. Kimchi was well spiced, not too hot. Japchae was simply prepared, not too many ingredients, noodles with green and yellow peppers. The spicy raw crab (Yangnyeom-gejang?) was fresh with good heat, also not too hot. One of our best meals in Frankfurt, Germany was an authentic Korean BBQ. Who woulda' thunk it!?!

Reservation required Everything is good except the price

At first I was very happy after looking at the menu. It finally seemed to be Korean BBQ at a high level. When the food came, however, I was disappointed. The beef tartare came to the table almost frozen. The Secreto was claimed to be Bellota quality, but had zero acorn aroma. In general, the preparation of the meat leaves a lot to be desired, everything is laced with tendons. The silver skin wasn't removed either and I often bit on bones. The service manages to smile at most occasionally but nothing more. That would all be acceptable if the bill wasn't so high. Too expensive for the quality and service you get. It's a shame, the basic concept has tons of potential. We won't be coming back.

The restaurant staff is friendly and there are many people. The taste of ‘galbitang’ is very good and the meat is tender. However, there are too many flies inside the restaurant. It feels very dirty and I lost my appetite every time I sat down to eat my food. Improvement is urgent.

The BBQ is delicious, the meat is nice, pricey; I had wished for my various side dishes The vacuuming system is a bit horrible,,, the whole environment is a bit smoky The servers are nice, one Korean guy with a bit long curl hairs is a bit funny; I really like him My husband got his left knee’s skin a bit burned from the grill system under the table accidentally. We got curing cream after dinner. But be cautious! Anyway, Asian food is coming to Germany like America, which is great!!!

Long story short, I regret having my birthday dinner here. 1. The price is horrendous for what you get. You are literally paying 30+ euros for 180g of bad quality, unseasoned meat. Sure, some side dishes are included, but they were all forced on us without prior communication. I’m allergic to crab, but it was served as part of the side dishes without any prior communication. 2. The service is horrible. One waitress threw the rice bowl on the table. A waiter set the stove wrong and burned the already small amount of meat we received. He did not apologize. Later, we asked another Korean waiter for help as the smoke got out of control, but he was reluctant. Even though we spent around 90 euros for two people, and made it clear that it was a birthday dinner, no waiter smiled or showed a nice attitude throughout. 3. The hygiene is very questionable. There were a lot of flies and small bugs on the wall and in the air, even though we were sitting indoors. The bathroom was also very dirty.

This is a restaurant. It is not good, the price is outrageous: pay 30-50 Euro for 180g of unseasoned, low quality meat you could buy for 2 Euro at any supermarket; the service personnel is unfriendly and there are no explanations or guides to cook the meat; the huge amount of side dishes comes unannounced but it’s all a rather similar and basic; the ambience was horrific, flies and bugs were on our seat from the beginning, very uncomfortable. Overall I cannot recommend the food, the price is way too bad.

A week ago I had dinner in Heidekrug with my wife for our wedding anniversary. In order to try something new, as it was unfortunately my first time, we had to be told how it worked. We were very lucky that a young employee could speak German. The atmosphere and the staff were very courteous and attentive, we felt very taken care of. The food was sensational!! We chose the meat platter for 2 and there were also side dishes that we could order again free of charge if we wished. The waiting time for our food to be brought to the table was 10 minutes We'll definitely be back :)!

When I visited last spring I found that the side dishes and meals were not as good as before, but when I visited last week I was very satisfied. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best restaurant recommended for eating in Frankfurt.

When you want to eat Korean food there is no equal in this area. Incredibly friendly waitress and outstanding food with a huge selection of meals. They speak at least Korean and English with many waiters whom speak German and other languages as well.

Wonderful! was my first visit to a Korean restaurant! I was overwhelmed by the offer, the preparation and the explosion of taste! When your vacation goes back to the Taunus, We will definitely visit this restaurant again! Small addendum! In South Korea it is not customary to tip! The Heidekrug has adapted to German conditions! The basket is near the counter!

Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired, so it can't even make the food good. After we ordered 3 large beers, the waiter came before closing time with the bill of €500 and the request to pay. We were just eating and weren't even allowed to finish our drinks. We were given plastic cups to drink our drinks outside and were thrown out. The icing on the cake is that drinks were overcharged, but we hadn't had time to talk about it anymore. With such a high bill, we would have wished we could have finished drinking. A pity!

Delicious Korean grill restaurant. It's always full, so make sure you make a reservation!

We had dinner there this evening and had a bill of 500 euros. The store closes at 10 p.m. and we placed another drink order at 9:45 p.m. Meanwhile we were still eating. The drinks order came shortly afterwards. At 9:50 p.m. the waiter came to our table with the bill and said: we close in 10 minutes. Here is the bill, it must be paid in advance. At 9:58 p.m. we paid the bill and then asked if we could finish our drinks. Plastic cups were then placed on the table for us to refill and we were asked to leave, even though our drinks were only 1/4 full. This has never happened to us before. We were literally thrown out of the store.

It was great to be the best Korean meat restaurant in Germany!! The staff were so friendly, the food was delicious, and the coffee was super refreshing. Thank you! I'll go again next time to eat the cold noodles I couldn't order👍

Tolles koreanisches Barbecue im Heidelrug.Super Fleischauswahl mit leckere Beilagen und delikaten Saucen. Auffallend viele asiatische Gäste…war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis. Vielleicht etwas laut und ungemütlich aber das Essen macht es wieder wett.

This is a Korean restaurant that I have been frequenting for the past 2 years. It was originally a popular restaurant, but it is difficult to make a reservation these days, perhaps because it is especially popular. Today, I was lucky enough to go and eat without a reservation. The salted fish soup, kimchi stew, and pork bulgogi were still delicious.

Authentic Korean food. 1 dish for 2 can cost up to more than €80 but it is worth it. Their meats are very well chosen, they are pure quality. You may have to make a reservation. The place is very clean. It has parking and does not have much access for people in wheelchairs.

I was here with my family and was greeted with perhaps the best service I’ve had all year as well as the best Korean BBQ of all time. They changed the grill multiple time for us and even helped us with grilling. Absolutely a great time and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s in the area!

The perfect place to get my Korean fix! Love their Galbi Tang, Seokswe Bulgogi and Pork charcoal set! My kids enjoyed the noodle side dish too and I like that they serve tea for free. Will definitely come back with our visitors soon.

Friends spontaneously suggested the Heidekrug and reserved a table, which is recommended even in the middle of the week in the evening. I didn't expect Korean BBQ under the name. But we were very positively surprised and had a lovely evening. The grill is directly in the table and is powered by charcoal. You get the meat selection you ordered and can grill it to the desired cooking point. Even though it was a very meat-heavy meal, it was very tasty and the service was good. The prices are a bit high. The Heidekrug can be reached quickly by car from the Taunus or Frankfurt. There is plenty of free parking space.

WOOOOAAA!! What an experience!? I reserved a table for two people on a Thursday. That wasn't a problem, even if it was at short notice (1 hour before). We were offered both an indoor and outdoor table. We chose the Modum-gui (€87) plus 2 Cola-Zero (total €93.60) from the menu and wow! What an experience we had. This was our first visit to a Korean restaurant. The meat was fresh, noble and tender. The sauces tasted heavenly and the service was friendly. The menu left us thoroughly satisfied. My friend also really liked the soju. At the end I was also able to show the waitress the Korean words I had learned and we exchanged ideas about kDrama. Food has been tasting strange lately. The quality of the meat is bad, the liquor soup is salty, the stew is only salty, and the cold noodle soup is either filled with ingredients or just seasoning.. I used to go to this place because of the delicious food, but why has it become a perfect place except for the taste of the food?

6 waiters stand around you and none of them are working. Our bowls were empty and none of these people who are clearly eavesdropping and watching you refill them. The staff was so bored, they played rock, paper, scissors. However, they only did their job if they were specifically spoken to. The restaurant has nothing to offer in terms of atmosphere, no decoration or nice tables. Several clay vessels from which we ate/drank were already broken. And all this when you pay so much there. I won't come anymore. In addition, the banchans are made from 50 percent seafood, which I didn't know and I think is worth mentioning on the menu. We left a lot of it because we have allergies, so our Sams were only filled with simple kimchi and salad... what a shame

Since I work in a Korean company, i visits a lot of Korean restaurants.. i visited Heidekrug last on May 17th, unfortunately i must say the quality of the food is not what it's used to be, e.g. the pork of jeyuk is not grilled anymore and the sauce is what i'd say for "European" tounge. Shame since i really really like this place..

First of all, I want to correct that this is a restaurant, not a hotel. Secondly, this restaurant seems to require reservations, but we went there very early and were received directly. As for the barbecue, I think it's just average, similar to the 30-dollar meal I had in Las Vegas. Others can only be said to be quite satisfactory. I don’t know why it is rated as the ceiling of Korean food in Frankfurt. But the service is pretty good and very welcoming. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Frankfurt.

I rate the restaurant. After a short hike we were still hungry and then stopped at the Heidekrug. The review is for the restaurant. This is beautifully located and surrounded by nature. We weren't expecting a Korean restaurant. There were almost only Koreans in the restaurant, which in itself is a sign of quality in a Korean restaurant. The food was also very tasty. The prices are really cheap for the quality offered, especially for the lunch menu. The staff is unobtrusive and friendly. Despite the fact that we hadn't made a reservation, we were offered a place after a short wait. However, it is advisable to make a reservation.

It was our first time at a Korean BBQ and it was immediately impressive. The boss explained everything to us and helped us a bit with the barbecue. The food was great, very sufficient and the price was absolutely right for the quality.

Steamed Korean restaurant. to be seated Looking at the Korean customers who ignored the waiting line and proudly went ahead and took a seat without a reservation, and the manager who led those customers to their seats regardless of who waited first (he was the only one wearing a suit, so it must be the manager, right?), I felt like I was in Korea. I felt nostalgia. I had a hard time making a reservation, but it was disappointing that I was given a seat worse than a walk-in. The food was impeccably delicious. The waiters were quick to serve and the food came out quickly.

Reserved a table, drove there for 30 minutes, was shown to the seat and then: nothing. 10 minutes pass, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes. The staff is very attentive to the other tables with mostly Korean business guests, but completely ignores us. They don't even ask for drinks. So we left again - terrible service

Great Korean BBQ restaurant in this area. Authentic charcoal flavour and very high quality cuts of meat. 냉면 also top top quality. Go for the meat here and you can't go wrong. Recommended.

Very tasty Korean restaurant. Not directly in Frankfurt, but easy to reach by car and there is a large parking lot. I have visited many Korean restaurants in Frankfurt and the surrounding area, but this is the best. At lunchtime (including Saturday and Sunday) the prices are completely okay, but in the evening it is a little more expensive. I like to go there again and again with my Korean wife. We recommend.
