Salad completely without dressing. The young man who served us was unfortunately overwhelmed, very unfriendly and unprofessional. Overall overpriced. We were in your house on November 2nd, 2024, in the evening. The group “Bavarian Edelbrandsommeliers e.V.”

Great food, really great home-brewed beer. It's a shame that it's only available locally! Prices are OK in my opinion. The service wasn't always up to par when it was really busy, but it was always friendly and in a good mood.

Tasty beer! The waiters can be nicer though. Be prepared for too many customers, and the smell of sweat that comes with it :(

Embarrassing experience with our guests who we wanted to show Nuremberg culinary to. Simple snacks took 1 hour to prepare, the beers were far too warm, stood in queues and perhaps that's why they were completely out of balance. The food nothing special. 2 points because at least the operation was evident.

The food is nothing special and rather nothing special. Only 3 points because it is more tailored to tourists The beer is all the better for that. The original red beer is very drinkable and worth a stop. The other types of beer are also good to drink. The atmosphere is very cozy - whether in the beer garden or inside. The staff always friendly.

We stopped by after the tour, tested the red beer and tried some tasty whiskeys. Is highly recommended!

The first thing I’d like to point out is that this is A BAR. The restaurant is located in the inner yard. You need to go through the arch. As being a bar I liked the place. Not much space, but for having a drink - quite ok with me. The cozy warm lighting, wooden tables and chairs… that’s the way I imagined a local bar. You can order food here (the same menu as for the restaurant), but we went to the restaurant to eat once we knew that it exists. The food is tasty, portions are big enough to feel full and happy. I liked the lighter red beer but of course it depends on your taste and preferences. I’m not a whiskey fan, but it was good. Oh yeah, and it is not the only place, but sometimes waitresses do not speak English. You can pay by card :)

Unfortunately our expectations were not met. We are locals who wanted to go out for a good meal in Nuremberg, but the Altstadthof is no longer an option, actually it's nicely decorated here, but: 1. It was drafty and therefore not very comfortable, 2. In addition, the children were warned immediately after entering the restaurant that they had to be careful when walking so that they did not bump into the waitress. I think that's more a matter for the waitress, not the children. 3. The Schäufele is rather expensive at 21.50, but it was no longer really hot, the red cabbage was cool, and the meat would have needed another hour in the oven (a bit tough), the sauce was heavily set and not very tasty The roast base lacks power (bag?) In short, there are better Schäufele in Franconia - and it is a prestige meal, we were disappointed, 4. The beer is ok, but just 0.4l

Were here to drink Rotbier and the Rote Weisse (white beer). Is very tasty. The guest room is relatively small but rustic.

Service was fine. Food was laughable and frankly worse than I would have received at a fast food restaurant in the depths of Canada. Cannot believe I paid what I did here for the equivalent of a few terrible breakfast dishes and a lukewarm soup. Tourist trap would be a kind description of this place.

Had the driest bread in all of Franconia with my sausages. But was given a sachet of mustard to make up for it…server was very nice and the sausages were tasty but massively overpriced and the accompaniments were terrible. This place is a tourist trap and makes little effort

The soup, goulash, and cucumber salad were excellent.

We were given a tour of the cellar vaults and a brief tour of the whiskey barrels and brewing equipment. What was missing was the reason for visiting the brewery, a tasting to come home with gifts.

A good place to taste beer and German whiskey. Not really a food destination

We came for the beer and it was worth it. We were there twice in total. We all thought the beers were very good. There is the option to order 0.2l. This is useful if you want to try different beers. The service was very good and very nice and friendly. Even when it gets crowded, everything is well under control here. Since the restaurant is right on the way to the castle, the places outside the door are particularly well attended when the weather is nice. Especially when you see the tasting glasses on the tables as you walk past, it invites you to stop. During our meal we were very satisfied with the Nuremberg bratwursts and the cheese spaetzle. Only the fried potatoes still have room for improvement. When served we were informed that they were not seasoned. We were given pepper and salt. No other ingredients seemed to have been used other than potatoes and oil. We found that rather unusual. In terms of taste, I find potatoes fried and seasoned with a little onions and bacon much better. My dessert recommendation: Red Bockbier. Why eat dessert when you can drink it.

We ended the evening here with beer and wine. Cozy atmosphere, but above all the great lady from the service made the evening complete.

My rating refers solely to the food. We ordered ratatouille and spaetzle with sauce. My ratatouille had a consistency, taste and appearance, as if it were leftover food for the pigs. Soggy vegetables in the "tomato water", tasteless and terrible. The spaetzle tasted like it came from a ready-made package in a thick, salty sauce, terrible. Well, I ask myself: are there responsible authorities that check the food and its quality??? I find it outrageous to offer something like this in a tourist city where thousands of people visit us and want to leave their money with us. Very unfortunate, very irresponsible and disrespectful.

I enjoyed it. However, the female server who works on weekday afternoons (after 4 p.m.) was waiting for us (2 people) to leave after we had finished eating. They asked us to pay with a 15% tip that was not agreed upon in advance. When I checked the amount because it was different, I proudly showed the receipt with the tip. You decide the amount, and I wonder what this is. I received 40 minutes of service from the employee, I would have happily decided on a tip if I had asked in advance, but it's really disappointing. An interim settlement was made to a former employee, Two people spent 48 euros.

So the red beer is really really good a 5 out of 5 The Baumeister steak with fried potatoes was unfortunately a disappointment. The fried potatoes were soggy, completely soggy and not at all crispy or golden brown as you would expect. In addition, they were floating in oil and were almost unseasoned, which greatly affected the taste. The steak was cooked to death and looked like it had come from a discount store - although you could probably have gotten a better piece of meat there. Overall, an unenjoyable dining experience that wasn't worth the price.

A great location. Various beers on tap. All home-brewed. Except non-alcoholic beers. The red beer is the tastiest for me. The beer brandies and whiskeys are absolutely the tastiest in Nuremberg and beyond. They can compete with anyone in the world. Especially the whiskeys. I ate Obazda today. Quite terrific. When I'm in Nuremberg, I have to go there.

We were there a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the recommendations of the freetour guide. They have many types of craft beers and the price-quality ratio is good. We ordered a tasting of three jugs with three types of craft beers, which are brewed in a war bunker located in a nearby square. You can make a visit but we didn't have time. Next door is the store where you can take souvenir beers. The attention was very good.

The salad with feta cheese is fresh and good. Black beer is delicious, red beer is special. You can order mix beer (with golden black and red beer in smaller size.) Restaurant is busy but the service is nice. Overall the quality and price is fair. Will want to visit again.

Whenever we are in the general vicinity (we come from Leipzig and regularly travel to the Alps), we try to take Nuremberg with us. Yes, Nuremberg is essentially a very, very beautiful city, but often the real reason is to visit the brewery. We love the rustic nature of your gastronomy, my mom loves apple fritters more than anything and red beer is my passion. Thanks for making us have a great time every time. Very quaint little restaurant with its own brewery. I only tried beer and not the whiskey. Service was very nice and especially the sample beers were great. You can also buy to take away. Attention: you should reserve.

Really delicious, cool home-brewed beer and this wonderful backdrop, that was really wonderful. The MaiBockBrand is my recommendation for all beer brandy fans, the best I have drunk so far. We took a bottle with us (small shop is right next door). There is also a large beer garden inside and the brewery itself is also well worth seeing. I can recommend everyone who visits Nuremberg to stop there, the beer is so delicious.

The best beers in Nuremberg! They have many types of craft beers and the value for money is great. If you come, come with time to try at least one of each type of beer and if you like it there is the store next door so you can take souvenir beers. The waitress's attention is incredible, she is super friendly and speaks German, English and some words in Spanish, she is charming and very pleasant.

Atmosphere was great, sitting outside on a summer evening was very nice. Tried a cheese plate that was tasty and the beeramisu dessert was delicious. The shaufele was a little bland, but that might just be how shaufele is. The drinks are the real draw here though. The German flag beer flight, malzliqör, and Martinique rum cask aged whiskey were all excellent!

The selection of beer is very good, especially red beer and highly recommended. Unfortunately, the service is typically quite unfriendly for this city and the response to questions and orders is annoyed.

We went to the rock corridors for a guided tour and then ate there. I ordered two different menus with drinking accompaniments in advance. The service was super friendly and nice and everything tasted wonderful and the right alcohol always came straight away with the meal or right when we arrived. We had a wonderful evening. After a really great tour through the rock passageways, we spontaneously decided to have lunch in the cozy inner courtyard/summer garden and spent a cozy, relaxing lunch break here. Beer: great (Rotbier / RoteWeisse) Schäufele: large portion, super tender and juicy with a perfectly crispy crust, potato dumplings and sauerkraut also very fine, the red beer sauce could still be improved (a little pale), but overall absolutely okay Pan schnitzel: well, it was okay, but we wouldn't order it again, it was a bit carelessly fried, not really crispy, the potato salad could also have used more love Service: very nice, unfortunately a bit messy and uncoordinated, but it could also have been due to the extra-stressful bard meeting weekend 😉 We would definitely stop here again if we are in the area and get thirsty/hungry.

Franconian restaurant with great beer. It's worth reserving a table when booking the rock paths. We really enjoy eating there, but when we visit spontaneously it usually looks very bad.

Our rating refers solely to the food. Our adventure started when the hut was closed for renovation. So we took what was supposed to be the next best alternative and were very disappointed. Schäufele was ordered with sauerkraut. We got **cold** red cabbage. The taste and consistency of the dumplings came from the Pfanni ready-made package. The Schäufele wasn't the worst, but it was a third of what you get in the Hütt'n. The beer sauce was also completely unconvincing in terms of taste and consistency. More specifically: it tasted watery and had a strange film. Presumably also finished goods. Now we come to the price. €51.50 for 2x Schäufele and Cola. This is outrageous for what is offered to you. To everyone who likes to enjoy Franconian cuisine; goes to the hut. Afterwards you can come here for a beer.

We placed our order 40-50 minutes in advance, but no food came out at all and the group that arrived much later than us received their food first. The female employee who took our order came and asked if we wanted dessert, but she said we didn't even get any food. Then he said he would place the order and check with the kitchen.

Since I came to Nuremberg, I went to try rotbier. I tried many different beers during my trip to Germany, but this was the best for me. If it wasn't for R's, I would have liked to have tried the three types of sampler, but I was disappointed. I was only going to drink beer, so I ordered sausage from the starter menu, and it was delicious and not too salty. In fact, I enjoyed it more than at a restaurant famous for its sausages.

Overall offer is good but there is a lot going on at the weekend

I had a sampler of 3 beers and sausages. The sausage is so delicious!!!!! I had sauerkraut and French fries on the side and both were delicious. I recommend seating outside haha.

Great small brewery. They have a small, hole in the wall Taproom just slightly to the north of where the main restaurant and brewery is (just walk about 30 meters). Excellent beer and reasonable pricing for the area.

Delicious food - we had the Bauernsalat, Nürnberger sausages, and the pfannenschnitzel with kartoffelsalat and blaukraut. Each of these tasted even nicer than my mother’s recipes and she grew up in Nürnberg! The beer was irresistible. The staff were friendly and helpful, we felt so welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed and authentic. We tried other restaurants but came back here three times and each time ate so much we didn’t need breakfast or supper, just lunch! The BEST! Thank you Ana! <3

After a long walk through the old town in very warm weather, I was naturally thirsty. So we went to the brewery. My husband ordered a Schäufele, I a farmer's salad. The beer tastes excellent, highly recommended. You can only say good things about the food. Salad dressing was homemade and very, very good. Scoop plenty and juicy. And I didn't take a photo because I was so hungry and thirsty. The service was excellent and friendly. So: highly recommended!

Brett beer is definitely worth tasting. Unfortunately, the seats weren't very comfortable. Didn't eat anything, just drank ^^

We booked a tour for a group through the rock passages through the Altstadthof brewery, followed by a red beer tasting. The tour in Franconian dialect was very authentic and absolutely impressive. The content was informed about the rock cellars and their role in the Middle Ages, the Second World War and the role for beer brewing. Afterwards we went to the brewhouse and the distillery where the special features of red beer brewing and whiskey distilling were explained again. This tour is very interesting and definitely recommended and definitely worth the money. We didn't eat there, but we could see the dishes on other guests' plates, which all looked very appealing.

Delicious a piece of roast meat on a large bone so tender it just fell off with red cabbage and a German dough ball, my wife had sausages

Various “beer tasting boards” on offer. Here you can easily shorten the waiting time until the 'course tour' with Nuremberg specialties (red beer).

I was not in the brewery but I was in the bunker located in the underground, the entrance is 12e and lasts approximately an hour. The visit is in German but there is an audio guide in Spanish. Curious to see

Schäufele was good, but the sauce was probably not homemade, relatively pale and cloudy and thickened with starch. Likewise, the onion soup was thickened with starch. This works better, by boiling ingredients such as meat/bones/vegetables for a long time, the sauce becomes thicker on its own.

The best brewery in Nuremberg! There I advise you to take a meter of beer - a set of four types of beer (dark 3 pieces, light 3 pieces, red 3 pieces, light red 2 pieces; a glass of 0.25 each). There used to be another cool feature - fried oats. It stood on the table as an appetizer for beer. Now it has been removed... OWNERS, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, THEN BRING THE ROASTED BEANS BACK!!! 😭😭😭

Our little trip to Nuremberg took us to the great economy here. The very friendly and helpful service pampered us all around. Great recommendations and soooooo friendly service deserve special praise from us. It makes our great day in Nuremberg a lot more enjoyable. Right next to the rocky passages. Waitress very friendly. The weather was great, so there were a lot of tourists out and about. Locally right next to the narrow street, but separated by a fence.

Very close to the palace, but a little quieter than most places. Great food and perfect for beer if you want local styles that are a bit more flavoursome than the standard helles lager. And did I mention the quality whisky...?

Great beer, really good food and just a cool atmosphere. I actually just wanted to have a little drink while I walked through Nuremberg's old town. I liked it so much that I tried each of the home-brewed beers and had dinner. It was just great.

I had a whiskey tasting and a beer tasting, and it comes in 3 flavors! There are 3 beers: basic, red, and dark. The basic one is soft and light without any carbonation, so it's easy to drink. If you like Korean Casserole, you may feel that it doesn't have too much carbonation. I drank whiskey made by brewing beer. Since you are ordering 3 items, please look at the menu and select 3 items in advance. If you scan the QR code in front of the menu, an English menu will appear. I was satisfied with the service as the staff took care of ordering as soon as I made eye contact! Even though I didn't ask for the dish in front of me, they just gave it to me and were kind. For food, I ordered pork steak and schnitzel. You can choose between schnitzel and fries or potato salad, but be sure to eat it as a salad. The potato salad was refreshing and went well with the schnitzel. You might think of it as a Korean-style pork cutlet. And personally, I didn't like the schnitzel because it had hops on top. The pork steak had a common taste, and I also ordered the goulash and it was delicious. The overall taste of the food was not salty and the seasoning was just right, so I had beer 3 more times. I recommend it.

Guests in the gallery are occasionally attended to by the service. We were 13 people. You could have had a lot more drinking sales if the service had come by more often (04/26/24)?
