A wonderful beer garden with mature trees and a pleasant selection of food and drinks. The value for money is excellent. Between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., there's hardly a seat available, so make a reservation. The staff is humorously friendly.

My wife and I recently went to Frida Kahlo, a Mexican restaurant in Nuremberg. We reserved a table and received a warm welcome. The atmosphere was very cozy, with colorful pictures and candles on the tables. The menu offered a wide selection of specialties, from burritos to enchiladas to tapas. We opted for a mixed tapas platter to share, consisting of various small snacks. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. We accompanied it with a red wine recommended by the charming waitress. It paired well with the spicy food and had a fruity aroma. The service was quick and attentive. To finish off, we treated ourselves to dessert: a creamy chocolate soufflé with a liquid chocolate center. It was the perfect end to a successful evening. I highly recommend Frida Kahlo if you're craving Mexican food.

Hello dear FRIDA team, A slightly different beer garden with a surprisingly fantastic atmosphere. The 5* rating says it all. Service, food & cocktails were absolutely delicious. We were there with good friends in perfect weather. The atmosphere was like being on vacation... The restaurant inside was also simply fantastic. Pros: good food, nice ambience Cons: Long waiting time (40 minutes until the drink order was taken). Guests who arrived later were served earlier. No cutlery at the table, you had to ask again. The tables for two in the middle of the room are far too narrow - you can hear absolutely every word from the people sitting next to you and feel a bit disturbed as a result. The tapas were tasty, but the portion is quite small for the high price.

Unannounced, they were charged 5 euros for a credit card payment and then refused to provide a receipt. Violate 3 laws at once. Luckily there is no law against rudeness otherwise it would be 4 violations. It's a shame, the shawarma tasted really good...

Unfortunately, AFTER payment, we were unannounced and charged €5 in fees for a credit card payment. In two places in the restaurant there are small, inconspicuous boards indicating that credit card payments are NOT possible. We unfortunately overlooked these. Unfortunately, this was not pointed out during the payment process and the payment went through - contrary to what one would expect with such statements. A €5 fee was then charged. A fee that is NOT shown ANYWHERE and is not discussed anywhere - possibly because it is unfair... Neither on the map, nor in the non-existent terms and conditions, nor anywhere else in this restaurant. We then wanted proof of payment. This was not given to us for strange reasons. After a lot of back and forth we were refunded the €5. Incidentally, the €5 was almost 30% of sales. Depending on the provider, the costs for a credit card payment are a maximum of 2-3%. Since 2023, EC cards will no longer be issued and everyone will receive a (debit) credit card. Thank God we won't notice how many discussions this will cause. Unfortunately, the reactions of the waitress and the attempted rip-off left us going home with a very stressed and unpleasant feeling. Charging a fee for credit card payments also violates applicable EU law, which states that payment processes must be free of charge. Don't get ripped off. The restaurant will no longer see us.

Eigentlich kannte ich das Frida Kahlo als sehr gemütliche Bar mit schönem Ambiente, freundlichem Service und sehr gutem Essen. Deshalb wählten eine Freundin und ich es gestern Abend aus, um zu essen und gemütlich zu quatschen. Den Tisch hatte ich eine knappe Woche vorher reserviert. Erste Enttäuschung: Wir hatten eine winzigen Tisch am Gang gleich nach dem Eingang, direkt neben dem Thresen, dessen Oberkante in Kopfhöhe dem Gast kaum Raum lässt. Auf Nachfrage, ob nicht ein anderer Tisch möglich sei, wurde das abgelehnt, mit dem Hinweis darauf, dass alles voll sei. Scheinbar bekommt man zu zweit auch mit Reservierung nur einen Notplatz. Wir hätten uns gewünscht, dass zumindest nach einiger Zeit, als offensichtlich mindestens 3 größere, schönere Tische frei wurden, man uns von sich aus einen anderen Tisch anbietet. Das nächste war die Bestellung: Meine Freundin fragte nach einem vegetarischen Curry, da nur Currys mit Hähnchen in der Karte stehen. Die Antwort des jungen Mannes war, dass es viele vegetarische Gerichte gebe, er aber die Gerichte leider noch nicht so gut kenne. Damit war scheinbar die Sache für ihn erledigt. Erst nachdem meine Freundin sagte, dass sie dann die Kollegin frage, kam er selbst auf die Idee, das zu tun, und war scheinbar ein bisschen beleidigt. Dann wurde mir das falsche Getränk gebracht (spritziges statt stilles Wasser), nach meinem Hinweis kam keine Entschuldigung, sondern lediglich die Information, dass es kein großes stilles Wasser gebe, höchstens eine große Flasche. Genau die hatte ich gewollt. Das Essen war sehr gut, dafür gibt es die Punkte, ansonsten waren beide Bedienungen wirklich sehr unfreundich. Kein Hallo beim Kommen, kein Tschüß als wir gingen, keine Entschuldigung für Fehler, kein Bemühen, unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen. Bei diesen Preisen wünsche ich mir einen besseren Service. Zu zweit werden wir auf jeden Fall nicht mehr ins Frida Kahlo gehen - schade.

Recently dined here with a larger group. Ambience was nice. The service was very friendly. All the food came at the same time. But unfortunately that's about it for the positive. Several dishes only came lukewarm. The chicken tasted "weird" not to say old. The next day, several people in our group (who had eaten chicken) had diarrhea. An absolute no-go! I stopped eating after just a few pieces because of the strange taste and left the rest. No request from the service. But even that amount was enough to upset your stomach. That is not how it works!

Das Essen und der Service sind top. Ich verstehe, dass Energie gespart werden muss, aber ein wenig wärmer sollte es schon sein. Ich möchte nicht mit Strumpfhose unter der Jeans im Restaurant sitzen müssen. Ich werde erst im Sommer wieder kommen, wenn der Biergarten geöffnet ist.

Das Frida Kahlo hat mich mit seinem einzigartigen Ambiente und köstlichen Tapas sowie exquisiten Cocktails beeindruckt. Die kreative Fusion von Geschmacksrichtungen und die kunstvolle Präsentation machen jeden Besuch zu einem kulinarischen Erlebnis.

Frida Kahlo.... Ich war zum ersten Mal dort. Sehr gemütlich und die tollen Bilder von Frida Kahlo war sehr schön, auch die Cocktails sehr waren lecker,leider hat mir das essen,was ich bestellt habe nicht geschmeckt :-( ... Nichts desto trotz würde ich wieder kommen. Die Bedienungen waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend,kamen auch oft und haben gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist oder ob wir noch was bestellen wollen.

Sehr schönes Ambiente mit tollen Bildern von Frida Kahlo die man während dem Essen bewundern kann. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich bin sehr begeistert von dieser Lokalität. Bedienung sehr freundlich, das Essen kam schnell und war unglaublich lecker. Die Einrichtung ist altmodisch, shabby, alternativ und erzeugt eine wunderbare Atmosphäre. Auch der Bereich draußen ist toll gestaltet. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr gutes Essen mit großartigem und aufmerksamen Service

Eine echte kleine Perle im nördlichen Teil des Stadtviertel St.Johannis präsentiert sich hier dem Besucher, wobei man das Wort „kleine“ in diesem Fall nicht wortwörtlich nehmen darf, denn Sitzplätze sind außen wie innen ausreichend vorhanden. Dennoch empfehle ich, sich telefonisch dort einen Platz zu reservieren. Das Frida Kahlo an sich hat sehr viel zu bieten. Neben einer exzellenten Küche, äußerst leckeren hausgemachten Limonaden, bis hin zu (käuflich zu erwerbender) Kunst, die innen an den Wänden zu finden ist. Man spürt überall, dass hier in dem Laden viel Herzblut darin steckt. Also auf zu Frida Kahlo, „sie“ wartet nur darauf, entdeckt- oder wieder besucht zu werden !

Das war der schlechteste Service, den ich in 40 Jahren je erlebt habe. (Hab 10 Jahre selber in der Gastro gearbeitet) Nachdem ich nach 12 min uns selber eine Speisekarte holte wurde ich schroff darauf hingewiesen, das es ja meine Aufgabe sei mich bemerkbar zu machen. Ich hab angemerkt, das ich mit diesem Konzept nicht vertraut sei. Die Dame, vermutlich die Besitzerin, kam mir zum Tisch hinterhergelaufen und wies uns barsch darauf hin, das wir ja auch woanders hingehen könnten. (Wir waren müde und hatten keinen Nerv zu wechseln) Nach weitern 13 min hatten wir dann 1 Radler und 1 Glas Wein. Das Essen war durchwachsen, der Service kam von ungeschulten Studenten, die sich alle angestellt haben, als wäre es ihr erster Tag. Kein Besteck oder Servietten als das Essen nach 30 min kam, etc. Wir haben diesen Ort fassungslos wieder verlassen. Das war eines der negativen GastroErfahrungen, die man nie wieder vergisst. Ungeschlagen Platz 1 von vielleicht 6 Vorfällen in 4 Jahrzehnten.

Dieser Ort ähnelt eher einem Café als einem Restaurant. Aber die Essen hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen
