We ate here and it was simply a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, it's right in the middle of Oberhof, but they make the most of it. Beautiful glass facades and a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you for the lovely evening.

We (one adult, two children) ate at the Forget-Me-Not restaurant in the evening. We can't comment on the hotel; this review only pertains to the restaurant. The dining room is pleasantly furnished. To be honest, the food is quite expensive. The worst offender was the Würzfleisch (a type of seasoned meat), which cost a hefty €15. When we mentioned this to the waitstaff, the response was essentially that it was so expensive because it was such a select dish. Despite the price, the Würzfleisch wasn't any larger than usual; it was exactly the size you'd expect. The Würzfleisch was okay, but nothing more. The price was absolutely unreasonable. Otherwise, we had duck with Thuringian dumplings, which was very good and reasonably priced. In conclusion: the ambiance was nice, but the service wasn't great, and the prices were mostly exorbitant and, at least in our opinion, unjustified. This is probably why the restaurant was mostly empty when we walked past it the next two evenings. A shame, given the restaurant's ambiance. We wouldn't go there again.

Although we weren't staying at the Forget-Me-Not restaurant in the hotel, we did eat there, and it was absolutely outstanding! The dishes were fresh, lovingly prepared, and simply delicious. You can immediately tell that the food is cooked with quality and passion. The service is run by a friendly husband and wife team, and that's precisely what makes a visit so special. From the very first moment, you feel incredibly welcome, especially as a guest, not just a "customer." This warm, personal atmosphere is rare these days. A place you'll definitely want to return to. Highly recommended!

My wife and I went to the restaurant for my 70th birthday dinner. The evening was truly magnificent, honest, and delicious. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the property; he was just like "you and me." That alone, and what he showed on his face, deserves extra praise from my wife and me.

We ate at "Vergissmeinnicht" on Friday and were unfortunately a bit disappointed with the whole experience. We ordered two appetizers and two main courses. I had chosen the pickled pumpkin as an appetizer and even pointed to it on the menu when ordering. However, I was served pumpkin soup with fish – a dish I couldn't find on the menu. When I asked, the server explained that it was a daily special. Since I don't eat fish, I asked for the pickled pumpkin I had ordered instead. The soup remained on the table, "for tasting." After the plate was cleared, the server asked if we were ready for the main courses – but my companion's appetizer hadn't even arrived yet. Only then was the appetizer brought – and finally, my pickled pumpkin as well. The rest of the meal went smoothly, but the taste didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was also a bit annoying that the bill included three appetizers, even though we had only ordered two. Overall, it was unfortunately a disappointing experience – given the rather high prices, we would have expected more care and attention.

A small, well-organized menu with more than just classic Thuringian dishes. We had a delicious venison goulash, the bread dumplings briefly fried to give them a nice crunch, and a truly excellent red cabbage, perfectly seasoned and with just the right bite. The spaghetti with wild mushrooms was also perfectly al dente, the mushrooms delicately seasoned. Simply delicious. A very appealing menu that unfortunately doesn't live up to its promise. My pasta with mushrooms was anything but "creamy and flavorful," but simply bland, lacking salt, a watery sauce with a dash of cream. The venison goulash wasn't a filling portion; some of the pieces were gristly, the mini portion of red cabbage was overcooked mush, and the (only) bread dumpling (on the plate) was dried out. The waiter's reaction to my criticism: "I'll pass it on to the kitchen." The two of us ate and drank for just under €130 and were ultimately glad we still had a bag of chips at home. And be careful when ordering wine: The menu lists a 0.1-liter glass, but the bill shows double the price for a 0.2-liter glass. We did indeed have it on the table, but we didn't order it that way. We only noticed it when we got home and looked at the bill. So, in conclusion: If you value a high price that matches the quality of the food and a plate that matches the advertising text on the menu, you're better off diagonally across the street at O'Gretel. One star, however, for the pleasant ambiance.

We ate dinner at the restaurant twice, so due to the lack of occupancy, we can't provide any information about the hotel (location/room). The excellent food, the exceptional service, and the restaurant's decor (wood combined with an industrial style) are all very upscale. The food is of the highest quality, prepared with love and taste, and is also very attractively presented. A warm welcome, attentive service, and excellent service complete the picture.

A family-run hotel with a long tradition in Oberhof. The hotel staff was very accommodating. We were stuck in a highway closure and didn't reach the hotel until after midnight. We were provided with short videos to help us find the key box and our rooms. Despite the late hour, the staff member checked with us to see if we had found everything. Great service, thank you! Very good value for money for Oberhof.

This is my second time there (because we enjoyed it so much the first time). I spent my birthday there with my boyfriend, and it was such a lovely evening. The food is so delicious, there's a huge wine list, and the service is very attentive. I love this restaurant and am already looking forward to our next visit. We'll definitely be back when we're in Oberhof.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing for the exorbitant price. The rooms have no air conditioning and are very small. The whole concept is designed for poshness. Unfortunately, the owners can't pull that off. They should focus on the basics.

We were there as a family with a large group. The room, ambiance, and staff were extremely nice. However, we were extremely disappointed with the food. The price-performance ratio is not justified. I haven't had such a bad meal in a long time.

A spontaneous overnight stay at the "Vergiss mein nicht" turned into two. With Martin's help, we had a fantastic bike tour with lots of insider tips. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the good food, and the warmth. Everything is lovingly designed and so detailed, simply beautiful. We'll definitely be back. Second time at "Vergissmeinnicht"... welcome, warmth, quality... still absolutely top-notch. All we can say is - go, experience, and enjoy... Strongly recommended.

The rooms aren't the newest, but they're immaculate. Everything is clean, the breakfast is great, and the staff are very friendly.

We were a couple (49 and 47) on a hiking holiday. Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The service was top-notch. The waitresses were very friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. My wife and I give this place a 10 out of 10. It couldn't be better. You should be prepared to wait a bit, but that didn't bother us. The prices are a bit high given the quality, but they're justified. We'd love to come back. Thank you very much.

We were passing through and were hungry. Our goal was actually to see the panorama. We changed our minds at the last minute. Although he was only working there as a temporary employee, he was extremely attentive, friendly, and his sense of humor brought a pleasant lightness to the evening. We were there for both dinner and breakfast. We didn't stay overnight, so no review of the rooms is possible. But the food: fantastic. Creative, surprising, delicious, beautifully presented. This was my fifth stay at the Vergissmeinnicht (during our Rennsteig hike). As in the past, we received a very friendly welcome from the staff member Antje. Not only were we greeted with a drink, but we also received a room upgrade. The dinner was also absolutely sufficient, and the quality and presentation (by head chef Paul) more than impressed us. Not only hikers but also gourmets will find a very good selection of food and drinks here. Our room (comfort room) was truly very modern and perfectly equipped. Very nice, great service. We were just surprised that the portions of the set meal were smaller than if you ordered the food separately. We had the same dish four times. Two of them were the set meal, and both had less asparagus on the plate, for example. So the price advantage doesn't make much sense. Otherwise, the taste was excellent.

We went to Forget-Me-Not for the second time today and it was really, really good! Food and service are great, overall a perfect place to go for anyone who knows what good food is.

The ambience and the sunny terrace in the evening theoretically invite you to linger. We visited the restaurant with our 8 year old son. When we ordered our drinks and asked about the children's menu, this was refused because it is only valid for children up to the age of seven. I asked for a compromise solution because it was out of the question for us that an 8-year-old child would pay an adult meal for €30+. Especially since the creations didn't appeal to him at all. The waitress offered us a children's meal with a slightly larger portion for twice (!) the price. That would have been €32 for the children's schnitzel. Younger guests are apparently not welcome here. Demanding €5 for the robber plate + cutlery is a bit cheeky. We paid and went to the O'Gretel opposite.

The atmosphere is very tasteful and cozy, so you immediately feel at home. A culinary highlight with heart and charm! Our visit to Forget-Me-Not was an absolute hit – both in terms of taste and atmosphere! It was clear from the first glance at the menu: people cook with passion here. The cheese dumplings with mushroom cream and cranberries were a harmonious combination of hearty and fresh – simply delicious. We were particularly impressed by the loving presentation and the depth of the flavors. Another highlight was the classic Cordon Bleu with tender asparagus, a creamy Hollandaise sauce, perfectly seasoned potatoes and a hint of lemon. Everything was prepared to perfection - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, plus the delicious side dishes: a dream! The experience was rounded off with a dessert that was not only a visual eye-catcher, but also a delight in terms of taste - airy chocolate cream, fruit components and lovingly prepared details. The friendly and humorous service further enriched our evening - we have rarely been served so warmly! Yesterday I had dinner with very good friends at the Vergissmeinnicht restaurant. The dishes were very tasty - we're happy to pay more for good food. However, we found the behavior of a male employee who obviously has a problem with homosexual customers to be more than unacceptable and very disappointing. We expected more professionalism from the service staff of a restaurant like Forget-Me-Not.

Authentically friendly service, great food, surprise wine...a perfect all-round experience...as a spoiled Munich resident;o) one of the best restaurants!!!!...and in Oberhof...next time with an overnight stay...

We reserved relatively late and still got a table. (2 people) The service was super nice and friendly and no one asked if “everything was OK”. The noise in the restaurant was very pleasant, but that could also be due to the time (March 29, 2025). The food was super delicious! (I don't know what some people here imagine is not a " kebab shop ", but a restaurant where fresh food is cooked), that costs money and takes time.

Dinner at Vergissmeinnicht is always an experience. The selection and quality of the dishes and drinks, with their Thuringian interpretation, is outstanding. Unfortunately, the food was very poor and the description of the dishes was very vague. We've been here twice now. It was only on our visit in December that I noticed after the meal that I was getting severe stomach pains, which then developed into severe vomiting. As compensation, we were given a voucher for a three-course meal. The service on our second visit was good, but unfortunately, the food on offer was simply not convincing in terms of taste. You have to read the menu several times to even understand what's on offer. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with this restaurant.

We were warmly welcomed and served today by Antje. She was very attentive and super sweet. Our dog was welcome, given water and able to lie with us in a relaxed manner. The ambience is really great, the food was excellent.

The duck leg was to die for – crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside, with a delicious, aromatic sauce. The red cabbage is wonderfully seasoned, slightly sweet and perfectly cooked. Plus warm and attentive service - our waiter was friendly, competent and always had a smile on his face. An all-round successful meal that I can warmly recommend!

I just ate a dinner so cannot comment on the hotel per se. So let the category rooms reflect the actual product, food. The restaurant decor is new and nice. But it’s still a German countryside tavern, a Stüberl. With that in mind, the portions are surprisingly small, like really hobbit-sized tiny. Don’t expect to eat a salad with one main course and walk away satisfied. I’ve been through dozens of schweinhaxes in my life, but never even seen one this small. I honestly don’t believe there was much more than 100 grams of meat there. Nothing wrong with the kraut and mash, but sides were portioned equally small. For the price of €27, you could fairly expect three times more food. So in the end,I had to order a new round of starters, priced €29, adding up to a whopping total of €76 just for myself, just to call it a dinner. And I am not even a big eater. Just a regular guy, hungry from a few hours on the ski trail. I wish I had chosen another restaurant, but it was Sunday and there weren’t many to choose from.

We went to the breakfast buffet. The freshly squeezed orange juice and the honeycomb are positive. The service was mediocre, as was the offering (liquid jam, egg dishes = fried eggs in a warming container). We think that the price-performance ratio is not justified, especially since the drinks (coffee and tea, for example) were still exclusive.

Together with our friends we experienced an evening full of culinary highlights, with great hosts and in a wonderful ambience! We would be happy to come back and wish the Vergissmeinnicht team much success until then, continued creativity in developing and preparing the dishes, always a full house and enthusiastic guests!

Had dinner at this restaurant two evenings during the Biathlon World Cup weekend in Oberhof. The food was fantastic, as was the service. Wonderful atmosphere and here you notice again how nice the excellent staff are! They really pamper you and make the evening complete. For this restaurant and staff alone, I would go to Oberhof again!

We spontaneously looked for a way to have a nightcap at the Biathlon WC. Of course the restaurant was completely booked. Nevertheless, the staff, who were very friendly, tried to make it possible for us to have a drink and it was really good. The boss recommended his insider tip to us. Service top, staff top, unfortunately we can't say anything about the rooms and food. But a really cozy, modern and stylish location!!! Gladly again!

A very clear recommendation! We were immediately warmly welcomed, shown to the table and treated to food that was both very tasty and beautifully and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was a dream, as was the food, from the first to the third course and was absolutely excellent. A real treat, from the bread to the sauce and you can taste how much effort and love goes into everyone's dish. The entire menu literally invites you to try out any food, including fun and creative names for each dish. Of course, the waitress gave us top recommendations and of course they were all super tasty. An attentive and courteous service from "Roberto" and always focused on his guest and their well-being. Incredibly delicious food, beautifully prepared, all the staff really friendly and accommodating, I can't say anything about the rooms because I didn't sleep there.

We went here for dinner and felt very comfortable. Beautiful room with a large glass front. Modern furnishings (including wood). Open and friendly employees. Modern Thuringian cuisine (Hirsch Heinrich: the meat was delicious, the dumpling variations were great!)

I was only there for dinner, so no overnight stay. Excellent service from our dedicated waitress Antje. Indecisive wine selection was immediately resolved with two tasting glasses. The food was perfect and the portion size was tailored to the three courses chosen. Cloth napkins, very beautiful wine glasses, design and furnishings complete the visit. You can tell from the menu that thought has been given to the wine selection, the small brewery with a slightly different beer and the combination of the dishes. And last but not least, it tasted excellent too :-)

We were in the holiday home with a toddler and a baby and received our keys around 3 p.m. The house was completely cooled down and it took until the next morning to get a certain basic warmth into the house. However, this does not apply to the only toilet, which was still very cold a day later. That was enough for us to have to end our stay early because there was an immediate case of illness. Unfortunately, the house was very dirty, the bathrooms were clean (see photos). The location is central in Oberhof. We are very annoyed. The price is not justified.

We only went out to eat, the quality of the food doesn't match the price. The service and facilities of the restaurant are very good.
