Haus Vergissmeinnicht in Oberhof

We were there as a family with a large group. The room, ambiance, and staff were extremely nice. However, we were extremely disappointed with the food. The price-performance ratio is not justified. I haven't had such a bad meal in a long time.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing for the exorbitant price. The rooms have no air conditioning and are very small. The whole concept is designed for poshness. Unfortunately, the owners can't pull that off. They should focus on the basics.

A spontaneous overnight stay at the "Vergiss mein nicht" turned into two. With Martin's help, we had a fantastic bike tour with lots of insider tips. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the good food, and the warmth. Everything is lovingly designed and so detailed, simply beautiful. We'll definitely be back. Second time at "Vergissmeinnicht"... welcome, warmth, quality... still absolutely top-notch. All we can say is - go, experience, and enjoy... Strongly recommended.

The rooms aren't the newest, but they're immaculate. Everything is clean, the breakfast is great, and the staff are very friendly.

We were a couple (49 and 47) on a hiking holiday. Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The service was top-notch. The waitresses were very friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. My wife and I give this place a 10 out of 10. It couldn't be better. You should be prepared to wait a bit, but that didn't bother us. The prices are a bit high given the quality, but they're justified. We'd love to come back. Thank you very much.

We were passing through and were hungry. Our goal was actually to see the panorama. We changed our minds at the last minute. The staff were extremely friendly, and the restaurant has a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. The price is on the higher side. We enjoyed it and enjoyed it. It was great! We were so impressed that we ate here two days in a row and ordered from the attached stall on the third day. 😍 We've rarely experienced such good service. The owner is very welcoming and simply created a wonderful dining experience for us. You feel welcome and seen... I sometimes experience something completely different in Berlin. I was completely thrilled with my visit to this restaurant. As soon as I entered, I was struck by the cozy atmosphere – the restaurant had a unique flair that invited you to linger. The decor was tasteful and exuded a warm, relaxed vibe. A real highlight was the waiter. Although he was only working there as a temporary employee, he was extremely attentive, friendly, and his sense of humor brought a pleasant lightness to the evening. His service played a key role in making us feel welcome and well looked after. The menu itself was an experience: creatively and unusually written, making it fun to simply read it and discover what lay behind the dishes. The cuisine was impressive across the board. All dishes were prepared to a high standard, using fresh ingredients and presented with great attention to detail. Each dish was a delight, perfectly balanced and with sophisticated touches. I particularly liked the concept of combining all the dishes on the menu as a set meal—this made it possible to combine different flavors and styles into a truly unique culinary experience. We were there for both dinner and breakfast. We didn't stay overnight, so no review of the rooms is possible. But the food: fantastic. Creative, surprising, delicious, beautifully presented. The service was also very friendly—both in the evening and in the morning at the delicious breakfast buffet. We'll definitely be back.

This was my fifth stay at the Vergissmeinnicht (during our Rennsteig hike). As in the past, we received a very friendly welcome from the staff member Antje. Not only were we greeted with a drink, but we also received a room upgrade. The dinner was also absolutely sufficient, and the quality and presentation (by head chef Paul) more than impressed us. Not only hikers but also gourmets will find a very good selection of food and drinks here. Our room (comfort room) was truly very modern and perfectly equipped. We've been coming back to this fantastic restaurant for years. Beautiful ambiance, creative cuisine with unusual creations, top quality.

Very nice, great service. We were just surprised that the portions of the set meal were smaller than if you ordered the food separately. We had the same dish four times. Two of them were the set meal, and both had less asparagus on the plate, for example. So the price advantage doesn't make much sense. Otherwise, the taste was excellent.

We went to Forget-Me-Not for the second time today and it was really, really good! Food and service are great, overall a perfect place to go for anyone who knows what good food is.

The ambience and the sunny terrace in the evening theoretically invite you to linger. We visited the restaurant with our 8 year old son. When we ordered our drinks and asked about the children's menu, this was refused because it is only valid for children up to the age of seven. I asked for a compromise solution because it was out of the question for us that an 8-year-old child would pay an adult meal for €30+. Especially since the creations didn't appeal to him at all. The waitress offered us a children's meal with a slightly larger portion for twice (!) the price. That would have been €32 for the children's schnitzel. Younger guests are apparently not welcome here. Demanding €5 for the robber plate + cutlery is a bit cheeky. We paid and went to the O'Gretel opposite.

Absolutely recommended - 5 stars! We had a wonderful evening and were thrilled from start to finish. The reception was extremely warm and we immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere is very tasteful and cozy, so you immediately feel at home. No wish was left unfulfilled and everything was done with a smile. You can tell that hospitality is lived here. All in all, a thoroughly successful evening that left nothing to be desired. A culinary highlight with heart and charm! Our visit to Forget-Me-Not was an absolute hit – both in terms of taste and atmosphere! It was clear from the first glance at the menu: people cook with passion here. The cheese dumplings with mushroom cream and cranberries were a harmonious combination of hearty and fresh – simply delicious. We were particularly impressed by the loving presentation and the depth of the flavors. Another highlight was the classic Cordon Bleu with tender asparagus, a creamy Hollandaise sauce, perfectly seasoned potatoes and a hint of lemon. Everything was prepared to perfection - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, plus the delicious side dishes: a dream! The experience was rounded off with a dessert that was not only a visual eye-catcher, but also a delight in terms of taste - airy chocolate cream, fruit components and lovingly prepared details. The friendly and humorous service further enriched our evening - we have rarely been served so warmly! Conclusion: An all-round successful experience with great food, great ambience and wonderful service. Absolutely recommended – we’ll be back!

An absolutely wonderful visit to Forget-Me-Not in Oberndorf! As soon as you enter, you feel warmly welcome - a lovingly designed ambience with lots of charm and attention to detail. A very special compliment goes to our waitress Anne-Marie: Not only was she extremely polite and attentive, but she practically read our wishes from our lips. We have rarely experienced such attentive and friendly service! Your kindness made our visit a real feel-good moment. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and prepared with a lot of love. Yesterday I had dinner with very good friends at the Vergissmeinnicht restaurant. The dishes were very tasty - we're happy to pay more for good food. However, we found the behavior of a male employee who obviously has a problem with homosexual customers to be more than unacceptable and very disappointing. We expected more professionalism from the service staff of a restaurant like Forget-Me-Not.

Authentically friendly service, great food, surprise wine...a perfect all-round experience...as a spoiled Munich resident;o) one of the best restaurants!!!!...and in Oberhof...next time with an overnight stay...

We ate at the restaurant. It had a very cozy, modern ambiance. Friendly service and delicious food and drinks.

We reserved relatively late and still got a table. (2 people) The service was super nice and friendly and no one asked if “everything was OK”. The noise in the restaurant was very pleasant, but that could also be due to the time (March 29, 2025). The food was super delicious! (I don't know what some people here imagine is not a " kebab shop ", but a restaurant where fresh food is cooked), that costs money and takes time.

Golden wedding anniversary, what a blessing, it's not something you get to celebrate every day. We chose the "Vergissmeinnicht" restaurant in Oberhof to celebrate with everyone. A wonderful atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food—we won't forget this day. THANK YOU!

Dinner at Vergissmeinnicht is always an experience. The selection and quality of the dishes and drinks, with their Thuringian interpretation, is outstanding. The breakfast was excellent, as always. Good food and very friendly and competent service. I'd go back anytime.

Unfortunately, the food was very poor and the description of the dishes was very vague. We've been here twice now. It was only on our visit in December that I noticed after the meal that I was getting severe stomach pains, which then developed into severe vomiting. As compensation, we were given a voucher for a three-course meal. The service on our second visit was good, but unfortunately, the food on offer was simply not convincing in terms of taste. You have to read the menu several times to even understand what's on offer. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with this restaurant.

We were warmly welcomed and served today by Antje. She was very attentive and super sweet. Our dog was welcome, given water and able to lie with us in a relaxed manner. The ambience is really great, the food was excellent.

The duck leg was to die for – crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside, with a delicious, aromatic sauce. The red cabbage is wonderfully seasoned, slightly sweet and perfectly cooked. Plus warm and attentive service - our waiter was friendly, competent and always had a smile on his face. An all-round successful meal that I can warmly recommend!

I just ate a dinner so cannot comment on the hotel per se. So let the category rooms reflect the actual product, food. The restaurant decor is new and nice. But it’s still a German countryside tavern, a Stüberl. With that in mind, the portions are surprisingly small, like really hobbit-sized tiny. Don’t expect to eat a salad with one main course and walk away satisfied. I’ve been through dozens of schweinhaxes in my life, but never even seen one this small. I honestly don’t believe there was much more than 100 grams of meat there. Nothing wrong with the kraut and mash, but sides were portioned equally small. For the price of €27, you could fairly expect three times more food. So in the end,I had to order a new round of starters, priced €29, adding up to a whopping total of €76 just for myself, just to call it a dinner. And I am not even a big eater. Just a regular guy, hungry from a few hours on the ski trail. I wish I had chosen another restaurant, but it was Sunday and there weren’t many to choose from.

We went to the breakfast buffet. The freshly squeezed orange juice and the honeycomb are positive. The service was mediocre, as was the offering (liquid jam, egg dishes = fried eggs in a warming container). We think that the price-performance ratio is not justified, especially since the drinks (coffee and tea, for example) were still exclusive.

Together with our friends we experienced an evening full of culinary highlights, with great hosts and in a wonderful ambience! We would be happy to come back and wish the Vergissmeinnicht team much success until then, continued creativity in developing and preparing the dishes, always a full house and enthusiastic guests!

Had dinner at this restaurant two evenings during the Biathlon World Cup weekend in Oberhof. The food was fantastic, as was the service. Wonderful atmosphere and here you notice again how nice the excellent staff are! They really pamper you and make the evening complete. For this restaurant and staff alone, I would go to Oberhof again!

We spontaneously looked for a way to have a nightcap at the Biathlon WC. Of course the restaurant was completely booked. Nevertheless, the staff, who were very friendly, tried to make it possible for us to have a drink and it was really good. The boss recommended his insider tip to us. Service top, staff top, unfortunately we can't say anything about the rooms and food. But a really cozy, modern and stylish location!!! Gladly again!

A very clear recommendation! We were immediately warmly welcomed, shown to the table and treated to food that was both very tasty and beautifully and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was a dream, as was the food, from the first to the third course and was absolutely excellent. A real treat, from the bread to the sauce and you can taste how much effort and love goes into everyone's dish. The entire menu literally invites you to try out any food, including fun and creative names for each dish. Of course, the waitress gave us top recommendations and of course they were all super tasty. An attentive and courteous service from "Roberto" and always focused on his guest and their well-being. We went here for dinner and felt very comfortable. Beautiful room with a large glass front. Modern furnishings (including wood). Open and friendly employees. Modern Thuringian cuisine (Hirsch Heinrich: the meat was delicious, the dumpling variations were great!)

We lived in the very nice FW and felt very comfortable.

I was only there for dinner, so no overnight stay. Excellent service from our dedicated waitress Antje. Indecisive wine selection was immediately resolved with two tasting glasses. The food was perfect and the portion size was tailored to the three courses chosen. Cloth napkins, very beautiful wine glasses, design and furnishings complete the visit. You can tell from the menu that thought has been given to the wine selection, the small brewery with a slightly different beer and the combination of the dishes. And last but not least, it tasted excellent too :-)

Food was way too expensive and there was no real choice. We also waited a long time for our food even though the restaurant wasn't that full. I wouldn't recommend it

We were in the holiday home with a toddler and a baby and received our keys around 3 p.m. The house was completely cooled down and it took until the next morning to get a certain basic warmth into the house. However, this does not apply to the only toilet, which was still very cold a day later. That was enough for us to have to end our stay early because there was an immediate case of illness. Unfortunately, the house was very dirty, the bathrooms were clean (see photos). The location is central in Oberhof. We are very annoyed. The price is not justified.

We only went out to eat, the quality of the food doesn't match the price. The service and facilities of the restaurant are very good. But you should either lower the prices or increase the quality of the food and make sure that the food is served warm. And please ask for the children's menu. The food on the main menu isn't really for the kids

We were in the restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner, food and service perfect, super nice staff and great atmosphere.

More appearance than reality. You can't pretend to be a fine restaurant but not meet any of the criteria other than the prices. We ate in the restaurant and were warmly greeted when we arrived. The ambience is also very nice and inviting. Unfortunately there was a mixup and a couple whose reservation was canceled ended up sitting at the table with us. This wasn't a problem for us. The couple were served drinks on the house, but we were not... After waiting over an hour for my food because I didn't order a starter, the wrong food came and I had to wait even longer. The food was no more than average. On the menu, the trout I ordered is listed after the heading as “Rainbow Trout | potato | peas | “Wild garlic buds”. The “potato” is found as a thickened liquid in the peas, or perhaps just potato starch. Calling it a “potato” is a complete exaggeration. The descriptions of the other dishes also suggest something different. For dessert, the menu says “crispy fried quark balls with a filling of white Chocolate & blueberry.” Based on this description, you can definitely expect more than one ball! However, only one came. Definitely not worth ten euros either. The incorrect plural form should be corrected in the map... Ultimately we wanted two separate bills since there were four of us. Unfortunately the bill came incorrectly. Instead of correcting this briefly, we were just asked if we could clarify it among ourselves... Given the number of errors, I would have expected some accommodation. So overall we were disappointed with both the food and the service. You should think twice about whether you want to pay the price for this service.

Lots of wind and high prices for little performance! I rarely write reviews, but for this place it seems necessary. The employees seemed friendly and open-minded. It quickly became apparent that the aim was to create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere for the customer. At first glance the menu seemed very exquisite and special, but it didn't do the food justice. My main course for €22 (one of the cheapest dishes on the menu!!) was just 2 large carrots, split lengthways on mashed potatoes and nicely garnished. I think the greatest talent in this restaurant is in advertising the food with fluffy descriptions and selling it at completely overpriced prices. Some serious errors were made in the service. Although they apologized several times, they didn't even offer a free drink or anything similar. We were very disappointed and left the restaurant with a bad feeling and an empty stomach. As the name suggests, we won't soon forget the restaurant.

We were able to enjoy a super delicious, relaxed dinner on December 31st, 2024. The team is courteous, open-minded and very friendly. Unfortunately, the pickled vegetables were missing from my starter. So the salad we ordered was very simple and not worth the price. In addition, with this atmosphere I wouldn't use iceberg, but rather use herb salads. The rest of the 3 courses were all fine. Overall I was hoping for more. Service very friendly and always asking questions.

As in previous years, we spent our Christmas Day here with our family. Nobody had to spend hours in the kitchen preparing and following up. We even had snow and were able to go sledding with the small children. But the highlight was another great time at Forget-Me-Not! After a friendly welcome, we spent a great 2.5 hours in a cozy atmosphere and with very tasty food. This is exactly what our Christmas celebration is all about. Thanks to everyone who made this successful day in front of and behind the counter. We have booked a table again for next year. Anticipation is the most beautiful joy.

We booked the little break and were completely impressed. The external appearance, the parking spaces at the back of the house and the spacious room absolutely met our expectations. The menu with the wine accompaniment was coordinated with us and was great. Conclusion: Everything is very familiar and harmonious. We can absolutely recommend the house. Gladly again!

The service was very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the duck leg and the dumplings and red cabbage were very good. The duck leg didn't really have a lot of good meat on it. It's a shame that the price-performance ratio is simply exaggerated. The location is great.

We were there for lunch on Sunday. The staff was attentive, but unfortunately made the comment: please don't touch the windows, I cleaned them first (our children). The beer from a small brewery was very tasty. I ordered deer for €29 and got delicious dumplings with what felt like greasy slaughterhouse waste. Service good, the meat a disaster. Unfortunately, price-performance is not right.

I was in Oberhof for family reasons, so nothing new for me. The hotel is centrally located, although that's not difficult in the village😊. We would receive a very warm welcome at the hotel. The room is nice and clean and big enough. Very well maintained. For breakfast. Too expensive for what you get. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The service was very nice and accommodating. The food is a bit overpriced for the portion size. But the quality is absolutely fine. The only thing that actually bothered me was the proximity to the person sitting next to me, no trace of the lovely evening alone with my partner. Without wanting to, you had to listen to your neighbors' conversations and also smell the disgusting perfume. When I'm sitting in the beer garden, it doesn't matter to me, but not in a restaurant where you just want to enjoy the evening and don't want to hear what the student is doing at university or how divorced men reflect on their lives. My suggestion would be to place the tables differently so that you are a little more undisturbed.

The best Thuringian dumplings I've eaten in what feels like 50 years. I've never experienced a restaurant where the delicious, homemade sauce was generously served with the dumplings. The whole menu was a feast for the palate with explosions of flavor. I also have to give a very big compliment to the staff, who always had time for a quick break and still quickly brought supplies of food and drink to the table. As promised, we'll be back...
