The roulade was delicious, but why is there only two spoonfuls of red cabbage? It's the least expensive ingredient in this dish. Even for a senior citizen's portion, that amount would be far too little. You absolutely need to improve that, please!

Very cool restaurant. I came here on a friend's recommendation and I'm absolutely thrilled. Very nice ambiance (the original Bob above the bar is also cool), good music, and really delicious and fresh food (I had the roulade). I absolutely recommend this fantastic restaurant. Four of us were there on a Saturday evening, and we enjoyed it so much and it tasted simply amazing that we went back for dinner on Sunday. The staff is really friendly and there were always some funny remarks, even though it was particularly busy on Saturday evening. The atmosphere is simply wonderful and makes you feel at home; the food is beautifully presented and tastes simply fantastic. Next time we're in Oberhof, we'll definitely be back. The Bärenschnitzel (bear schnitzel) was definitely worth it! Tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The team was super friendly, attentive, and yet pleasantly down-to-earth. You can tell that hospitality isn't just a priority here, it's lived and breathed. My dog ​​was also warmly welcomed – including a water bowl. Conclusion: Beim Waldschrat is a real highlight for me in Oberhof. I'll definitely be back – and the next Bärenschnitzel is almost ready to be ordered. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) – from the heart and with a full stomach!

We were there without a reservation, but the visit was manageable. The waiter took a bit longer, apparently busy with his computer cash register. My Thuringian sausages with Schlachtekraut weren't very good, my wife's baked schnitzel lacked flavor, and a wheat beer was practically uncooled. The waiters were friendly, though.

I found the dumpling fries a bit too greasy, but if you like them, the others had regular fries, which I prefer. The service was very friendly and cheerful, and the food arrived quickly. The Beim Waldschrat inn in Oberhof has a cozy ambiance with great attention to detail – you immediately feel at home. For starters, I had the homemade solyanka, which was truly delicious. After that, I had beef roulades with Thuringian dumplings and red cabbage – also excellent, although I would like to particularly highlight the red cabbage, which was truly outstanding. The service was also top-notch: fast, very friendly, and personable – which further enhanced the cozy atmosphere. For me, the Waldschrat is an absolute must when in Oberhof – a definite recommendation! 🥘

...didn't make a reservation, but got a seat....service was nice....everything went relatively quickly....the fries tasted different when seasoned differently....took some getting used to....the salad was very tasty....roulade was good....the dumpling was served in sauce....I would have personally expected proper gravy...but it was tasty...I like food really hot...it wasn't....the dark beer and currant spritzer were very tasty...it was a nice evening

The venison goulash with Thuringian dumplings and red cabbage, as well as the chicken fricassee, were sublime, almost too much to handle. The ambiance was top-notch, and so was the service. Yesterday there were only two of them, so we had to wait a bit, but everything was fine. With friendliness, everything goes smoothly, and our little dog felt at home, too. We've been here several times and are happy to come back. 😀

I couldn't decide between ox cheeks and knuckle. When I was assured they were handmade dumplings, it had to be the ox cheeks. Both were absolutely delicious!! The meat melted in your mouth. The dumpling... amazing (like my great-grandmother's!) First, a GDR spiced meat - just like it used to be. So what can I say? Very tasty food, super friendly service, delicious cocktails. Everything is just right here! The house beer is super drinkable, the staff is friendly, and despite being busy, they keep everything under control. The kitchen is staffed by experts who know their craft. We were there two evenings and can highly recommend the venison steak and a spot at the bar 😀

We went to eat at the Waldschrat with a large group. The food was okay, but unfortunately only lukewarm. The service was very hectic and not very friendly. It's just a tourist spot.

The food was very good, especially considering the dynamic nature of our group. All the meals for 13 people arrived at the same time, including appetizers and desserts. Unfortunately, the heated, irritable atmosphere contagiously affected the staff, who perhaps could have acted more calmly.

Bester Service, beste Laune, lecker Essen, immer ein fröhliches Wort, tolle Speisekarte...und Getränke und auch, daß muss mal gesagt werden - alkoholfreie Cocktails - nicht überall üblich tolles Ambiente nur zu empfehlen und auch zu empfehlen: reserviert am besten man bekommt ggf. auch so einen Platz, alles wird möglich gemacht, aber mit Reservierung ist es sicher 🙂
