Service was nice and attentive. The food was unfortunately standard and really nothing special. I don't want to say that the sauces come from buckets because I don't know, but that's how it tastes. Unfortunately we won't come back again due to the unconvincing quality.

We haven't eaten here in 10 years, but today we discovered that the schnitzels are still the best, even if they're twice as expensive as before.

This restaurant is truly world class!! You can't tell from the outside of the house, but the food is super tasty and a lot, almost comparable to an XXL restaurant but for a lot less money. You really have to be here. I have never eaten such a delicious schnitzel. Highly recommended.

When I look at the photo of the schnitzels, I have to admit that the time when breadcrumbs are used for breading is not yet over. How something like that can still be described as good is a highlight. Take off the breading and what's left. Parade! The owner of 300g of pure meat writes reconsiders my review, thank you. I've had to experience different impressions many times, which is why Panada is out for me.

Four of us ate here and the dishes were really good! I ordered the bi-schnitzel with pepper cream and mushroom sauce, A1!!! My wife had the large salad and it was very good too! Good service staff, the guys had everything in view, so we were never left high and dry! Salad with the schnitzel was also great. Conclusion: we'll be back!

...unfortunately the steaks are much smaller than they used to be, as are the portions of fries...but like everywhere else...the prices have risen sharply!!!

Best schnitzel in the region. Loving, funny owner with friendly staff. Big portion. Reservation recommended. Parking is limited, the street is sometimes blocked, but there are enough parking spaces within 300m. Come here regularly and enjoy.

Best schnitzel in the Republic. It's clear that if you go to the Schnitzelburg, the owner can try to sell his other dishes to the "man", only schnitzel is ordered ;-)

Restaurant in an old villa. The staff is consistently very friendly and incredibly capable. Had savoy cabbage with boiled potatoes and meatballs. Was super tasty. The waiting time was a little longer (on a Sunday evening) at just under an hour. But it was definitely worth it.

Simply very good. If you're looking for very generously sized meals, this is the place for you. And the quality is perfect! Only recommended!

We had dinner there with friends yesterday. Service very friendly and accommodating. Food was good too. Only the cleanliness leaves something to be desired. A lot of dust and dirt. Radiator full of food residue and stains. Our table was right next to a heater. It wasn't nice to see. Toilet's absolutely dirty. A lot of staff and there was hardly anything going on. Maybe you should hire a cleaner. You also sit very tightly there. Outdoor facilities very unkempt and simply run down.

This was our absolute favorite restaurant when we lived in Germany. The Schnitzel is out of this world. Praying for the day when we can get back to experience it again.

Our family has been coming together here on various occasions for decades. We simply love the Tannenburg. The quality is always great, the best salads, schnitzels (the cream sauce is simply a dream!) and minced steaks are far away. Even if it is sometimes very crowded and can take a long time, it is always worth it for the food. The staff is consistently nice - although their level of service varies.

The onion schnitzel at Haus Tannenburg is simply excellent! Juicy schnitzel and perfectly caramelized onions make this dish a real treat. But that's not all: the price-performance ratio here is really unbeatable. Generous portions at fair prices ensure that you get your money's worth not only culinary but also financially. An absolutely recommended schnitzel house!

Very good food and very friendly service. Good portions. We were all really full and some of us were even able to take something home with us. The atmosphere is very nice and rustic. However, when it's warm and crowded, it's a bit stuffy. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing to complain about. We'll definitely be back.

Went there last night with a reservation with 3 people. Drinks came to the table quickly and we didn't wait long for our food either. Two schnitzels, one rump steak. The schnitzels are really big and super tasty. The steak was really great. Always my pleasure.

We have been living in Taunusstein for a long time and have never managed to eat at Tannenburg because we never made reservations early enough. This year we finally did it and it was a great experience. The food was super tasty and fresh. The service was very attentive. All in all it was a great evening with a fair price-performance ratio. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant but you really have to make a reservation early.

Quaint, rustic restaurant, in summer there is also a beer garden. Parking spaces in front of and next to the restaurant, a bit rustic but certainly sufficient. The menu is “home-style”, relatively many dishes with pork. During our visit there was a daily menu with, among other things, asparagus dishes. The portions were generous and all 4 eaters were very happy with the food. The service was friendly and efficient, and the wait for our food was absolutely fine, even though it was very busy.

Went there on Friday evening and as always it was delicious. The atmosphere and service are always quick and friendly.

I've known about Haus Tannenburg from stories told by others for at least 30 years, and yesterday we finally made it here too. What a great experience. A simply rustic house with a lot of charm in the guest rooms, a young, motivated and super friendly team, a wonderfully down-to-earth boss and that's exactly how the kitchen is. Not only that the portions are large. So really big. But most of all it's just super delicious! Rump steak, 500 gr. (!), great quality, perfect cooking point (medium was desired), herb butter and onions mega. Schnitzel: great, pork steak too, garlic spaghetti was also great and I was particularly happy about the shrimp cocktail with butter toast, which is rarely available anymore. Needless to say how good it was. Absolutely fair price-performance ratio, affordable in terms of portion size, quality and taste. The next time is already planned. As I was walking out I saw a great portion of asparagus. I have to have it too...😊 Thank you for the great evening with you!

The place was quite cozy, but the tables were a bit cramped... when the guests at the neighboring table had left, a young employee sprayed the table with a cleaning bottle and the spray mist wafted over our delicious food and into our noses. A short time later it happened again two tables away, even though people were still eating at the next table... that shouldn't actually happen; You can also wipe tables with a damp cloth...

We had dinner with 8 people on April 5th, 2024. We came to Taunusstein especially from the Kassel district. Solid service, friendly staff, delicious food and drinks prices good. Good selection of dishes, typical South Hesse dishes are also available. The restaurant is located in the middle of the forest in an old villa. We'd love to come back. Thanks

Very tasty schnitzel. Good portion. Coleslaw was appropriate. Fries were nice and crispy. Staff was friendly and there quickly. A nice atmosphere. Reservation not necessary. Space is available. There aren't that many parking spaces available.

I was completely satisfied. Schnitzel was delicious and the price was right for the size. Staff was very quick and friendly. Ambience is also made pleasant. We got a table easily even without a reservation.

Obwohl wir Samstag Abend da waren und der Laden ganz voll, hat der Service tadellos geklappt. Ich hatte ein Eisbein als Tagesspecial das riesig und lecker war und perfekt mit knusperiger Außenseite. Die Portionen sind auch für sehr Hungrige mehr als groß genug. In der Tannenburg ist man in guten Händen, man spürt die Passion für dieses Restaurant! Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend!

Food is very very tasty. There are one or two additional daily offers every day! Service is great, the atmosphere in the old house is special, and everything can be done without a reservation.

We enjoyed our dinner here very much. The architecture and atmosphere are remarkable. and the food overall was very good. Service was a bit slow, but who would not want to spend some leisurely time in such a unique place?

Value for money for one portion is completely ok and it tasted good too. Staff is very professional. However, it took a while until we had our food. It was probably more due to the high number of visitors. Luckily we had reserved, without it it would have been hopeless. Unfortunately, the rustic flair of the villa (which has seen much better days) is completely lost due to mass traffic. It's a shame actually. Nevertheless, we would come back just for the food.

The food was delicious, the waitresses were friendly but unfortunately you had to wait a long time for your food. To pay, I had to get up after a while and pay at the counter because no one asked me if I wanted to drink anything else or if I wanted to pay. I thought that was a shame

So price performance is absolutely top. 2 large schnitzels are one portion. Great fries and the sauce... great. The service is very friendly and funny too. Highly Recommended. Ambiance is rustic. When it's full, it gets tight.

A really wonderful restaurant that has been around for over 30 years. A beautiful villa, very tasty food, very friendly service. The menu offers many delicious dishes, the wonderfully tender schnitzels are legendary and a must.

We felt like we were at a train station, coming and going... The drinks came quickly and were served nicely. The meal had schnitzel Hawaii, it was overwhelmed by the cheese, the taste wasn't really great, the breading couldn't be separated from the meat, it was huge, it's a shame that so much of the food has to be thrown away. We ate here together for the first time yesterday on the advice of my friend from Wiesbaden. The many cars in front of the beautiful old house were a sign to us that there are many regular guests here. We were thrilled too. Really great ambience with lots of non-chic knick-knacks, pictures, advertising signs, coffee pots, samovars... Very nice staff, the boss comes personally and takes care of the guests' well-being, friendly and relaxed. Very tasty food, hearty and regional, large portions at very fair prices. Great recommendation for this welcoming restaurant.

As always, the food here was a pleasure. Despite inflation, the prices have remained absolutely fair in my opinion. We were served well again. There is a small (tiny) deduction for the small table we got - with three of us it was pretty sporty but everything was doable :) We always enjoy coming back (from Limburg).

The two of us came here on a Saturday evening and had no problem getting a place even though the inn was very busy. At first I thought €19.50 for a schnitzel was pretty steep, but when the schnitzel was served, you could clearly say that the price/performance ratio was right! You should definitely be hungry... ;-) The taste is also great! Where can you get homemade croquettes these days? The service was super friendly, quick and attentive. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again. :-)

Phew, I actually really enjoy going there. But the way you were treated...and in the current situation, respect! Unfortunately I didn't see Hans. The service team seems to have forgotten how the boss gets money to pay the salary. As a reminder, the guest leaves his money in the restaurant and the boss can pay his expenses and that is also your salary....... No guests = no money That's really a pity!!!

Weiterempfehlung! Ein Must-Have im Rhein-Main Gebiet! Highlight ist im Sommer die Terrasse.

Was Gastronomie angeht ist das Haus Tannenburg sicherlich eine der besten Adressen für gutbürgerliche Küche im Rhein Main Gebiet. Hier lohnt sich die Anfahrt auch aus der Ferne. Die Soßen, die zum Schnitzel gereicht werden, sind landesweit bekannt und von bester Qualität sowie unvergleichlichem Geschmack. Portionsgröße ist für mich allein kein Qualitätsmerkmal, aber ja, die Portionen sind üppig. Beim Schnitzelfleisch selbst sind aus meiner Sicht als staatlich geprüfter Schnitzelreferenztester leichte Abstriche zu machen, denn ein Schnitzel gehört in Butterschmalz ausgebacken. Da die Qualität der Soßen aber derart überragend ist, kann ich darüber hinwegsehen und vergebe das Qualitätsmerkmal "bestes deutsches Schnitzelrestaurant". Vom Pfefferrahmschnitzel aus der Tannenburg wird man auch in Jahrzehnten noch Lieder singen. Der Service ist für südhessische Verhältnisse charmant und freundlich.

Seit meinem ersten Besuch in 1987 bin ich ein treuer Gast der Tannenburg. Hans und sein Mann Peter führen dieses bezaubernde Restaurant bereits seit 1985 mit Hingabe und echtem Talent für Gastfreundschaft und Gaumenfreuden. Jeder Besuch hier ist ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Die Qualität der Speisen ist konstant hervorragend, und die Portionen sind großzügig bemessen, was in der heutigen Zeit selten geworden ist. Was mich besonders beeindruckt, ist die Wärme und Authentizität, die man bei jedem Besuch spürt. Es spielt keine Rolle, wann man kommt – die Tannenburg bietet stets eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und kulinarische Köstlichkeiten, die das Schlemmerherz höher schlagen lassen. Ich empfehle dieses Restaurant jedem, der Wert auf Qualität, Geschmack und echte Gastfreundschaft legt. Ein wahres Kleinod!

Mal wieder die weltbesten Muscheln der Welt gegessen. Es ist immer wieder ein Genuss. Das Personal wie immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend

Einfach fantastisch. Keine Ahnung, warum ich seit 25 Jahren nicht mehr dort war. Das Essen ist ein Traum, das Ambiente wunderschön. Wir hatten Rumpsteak mit Zwiebeln und Schnitzel mit Rahmsauce. Schnitzel und Steak zergingen auf der Zunge. Es ist jeden einzelnen Stern wert. Wir kommen wieder, nicht erst in 25 Jahren!

Es war wie immer lecker und das Ambiente gemütlich. Der Service ist prima und der Hausherr hat immer einen kessen Spruch drauf. Rundum Wohlfühlgefühl. Lieber Hans erfreue dich am Feedback von zufriedenen Gästen. Bis zum nächsten Mal!

Tipptopp, sehr lecker, gemütliche und ausgefallene Atmosphäre

Wenn man hier in der Nähe ist gibt es keine Diskussion wo man zum essen hin geht. Da gibt es nur die Tannenburg. Ein muss für jeden der gutes Essen in tollem Ambiente mit freundlichem Service mag. Wir kommen immer wieder wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

In den Herbstmonaten lohnt es sich zum Muscheln-Essen in die Tannenburg zu gehen. Die gibt es dort in 3 Varianten, im eigenen Sut, in Tomaten-oder Sahne-Dill-Soße. Was ich gut finde, ist das rustikalwarme Ambiente, das leckere Essen und vor allem die üppigen Portionen, die man sich zum Mitnehmen gleich einpacken lassen kann, falls man nicht alles schaffen kann, was bei mir immer der Fall ist. Die Tannenburg bietet auch vegetarische Gerichte und kindgerechte Portionen an. Man kann die Tannenburg wärmstens empfehlen.

Kommen schon seit vielen Jahren hin. Immer wieder gerne und lecker.😋 Preis-Leistung passt und der Chef hat immer einen Spruch auf den Lippen. Wer sein Essen nicht schafft, bekommt die Rest eingepackt. OK, man sollte Schnitzel, Steak , etc. mögen. 😉

Die Portionen sind gewaltig groß. Viel zu groß. Aus Angst, dies alles essen zu müssen, war ein Teil von unserem Appetit schlagartig weg. Wir haben nur die Hälfte geschafft. Der Rest wurde uns eingepackt. Zu Hause aufgewärmt schmeckt aber alles schlechter. Das Essen ist schon ok und hat uns auch geschmeckt. Der Service ist sehr nett und gut, das Ambiente mit den vielen Zimmern hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Seit langen sind wir in der Restaurant zu Besuch gewesen und muss ich sagen nach wie vor leckere Gerichte trotz etwas höhere Preisen, was zu heutigen Inflation Zeiten angemessen ist.

Von nettem Ehepaar geführt. Kommen immer wieder gerne. Leckere Küche, es gibt auch immer was leckeres was nicht auf der Karte steht. Gute Portionen, den Rest, falls vorhanden, wird einem eingepackt. Ich hatte Muscheln mit einem leckerem Brot, mein Mann Handkässchnitzel mit guten Pommes und kl Salat.

Wir waren Freitags im Haus Tannenburg zum Essen und waren rundum zufrieden. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren, auch für gute Esser, kaum zu schaffen. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist völlig in Ordnung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen war sehr gut und reichlich. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und kommunikativ. Man bekommt die Angebote mündlich vorgetragen.😉 Wie immer hat es mir gut gefallen. Den Außenbereich kenne ich nicht.

Ich habe an dem Tag meinen Geburtstag gefeiert und mit der Wahl "Haus Tannenburg" alles richtig gemacht. In gemütlicher Atmosphäre (wir hatten einen Raum für uns), gab es alles was das Herz begehrt. Ordentliche Portion, super Geschmack und einen schnellen und sehr netten Service. Gerade die persönliche "Betreuung" durch einen der beiden Inhaber hat für viel Spaß und zusätzliche Wohlfühlatmosphäre gesorgt. Hier kommen wir jederzeit wieder gerne hin. Weiter so !
