Ich esse seit fast meinem ganzen Leben, 40 Jahre schon, mindestens 1X im Jahr hier. Auch meine Kinder. Für mich gibt es kein besseres Restaurant was Schnitzel und Steaks betrifft. Vor allem die Championrahmsauce. Und nur hier werde ich auch satt. Wir sind immer glücklich wenn wir wieder dorthin gehen. Kann mir gar nicht vorstellen wie es wäre, ohne dieses Highlight Tannenburg.

Das Beste Jägerschnitzel Deutschlands !!! Ich habe in meinem Leben, viele Jägersoßen gegessen , aber keine kann die von der Tannenburg übertreffen.

Wir waren lange gern im Haus Tannenburg, weil man dort früher gut essen und sich auf einen professionellen Service verlassen konnte. Genau das hat bei unseren letzten Besuchen aber deutlich nachgelassen. Der Service wirkt inzwischen eher unmotiviert als aufmerksam, Getränke kamen teilweise erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen, und auch die Speisen konnten nicht überzeugen. Die Soßen schmeckten nach Fertiggericht, das Schnitzel war trocken. Mit einem weinenden Auge blicken wir zurück, aber für uns endet diese Ära hier.

Zunächst war ich schockiert, als ich mehrere mittelmäßige Bewertungen gelesen habe. Wir waren über die letzten Jahre sehr zufrieden und sind gerne sowohl Vorort gewesen, haben uns aber auch gelegentlich etwas zum abholen bestellt. Ich habe die Speisen immer als sehr hochwertig empfunden und war umso mehr verwundert, als sich die besagten Rezensionen bewahrheitet haben. Uns hat es Überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Die Schnitzel waren so trocken, dass man sie ausschließlich mit der jeweiligen Soße essen konnte. Die Pommes waren hart und sind nur im Mund zerbrochen. Kein angenehmes Gefühl oder angenehmer Geschmack. Es hat lieblos geschmeckt. Service war begrenzt und sehr pampig. Der Chef hat sich mit einem kurzen „Servus“ gemeldet und wurde dann auch nicht mehr gesehen. Bei dieser Erfahrung konnte das ganz nette Ambiente auch nichts mehr retten. Wir waren schockiert und gehen dort nicht mehr essen. Eine Erfahrung die man sich hätte sparen können. Vor dem Einfang stand ein Schild „keine Kartenzahlung mehr“. Da muss man sich wirklich fragen, warum? Man konnte immer ohne Probleme mit Karte zahlen und neuerdings nicht mehr? Für mich ein weiterer Punkt der das Lokal umso unseriöser erscheinen lässt.

perfektes Essen, extrem netter Service, das Lokal in einer alten Villa ausgesprochen stylisch, nur die Toiletten dürften gerne mal renoviert werden.

Essen war früher etwas besser. Steaks wurden medium rare bestellt und waren leider rare. Das zum wiederholten Mal. Wir wollten nicht immer reklamieten. Deshalb leichter Abzug von 1 Stern. Trotzdem lecker. Restaurant war früher voller. Lange Wartezeit bis Bestellung. Bei Ankunft des Essens noch keine Bestecke vorhanden. Gut, kamn passieren. Personal so weit freundlich. Chef sehr freundlich. Nudeln mit Lachs waren sehr lecker. Trotzdem Geheimtipp.

Ich liebe die Tannenburg! Ich glaube, sie hat fast 40 Jahren gehe ich hier regelmäßig hin! Hans und sein Team machen wirklich einen tollen Job! Ich liebe diese wunderbaren Schnitzel. Aber es gibt auch fantastische Sachen auf der Tageskarte. Die Tannenburg ist einer meiner top Empfehlungen!!

Service, Essen - wie immer reibungslos und lecker. Seit Jahrzehnten ist die Tannenburg eine verlässliche Bank, wenn man gut bürgerlich Essen gehen möchte. Top - immer wieder gerne.

Seit langem nicht mehr so gut gespeist. Der Service war herausragend und zuvorkommend, alles war auf den Punkt. Die dazu gelieferten Saucen waren selbergemacht und selbst der Chef kommt noch an den Tisch und hat immer einen flotten Spruch parat. Rund herum gerne wieder.

Schlecht Organisierter Service. Fast zwei Stunden auf das Essen gewartet... Das dann auch noch nach Kantine geschmeckt hat. Preis Leistung passt null. Früher was das ein echt gutes Restaurant das wir gerne besucht haben. Die Sanitären Anlagen sind ekelhaft

Wir waren spontan an Valentinstag dort. Obwohl es sehr gut besucht war, haben wir direkt einen Platz bekommen und mussten auch nicht lange aufs Essen warten. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam. Nachdem der bestellte Espresso 2x „untergegangen“ war, ging dieser aufs Haus. Essen war super! Sehr zu empfehlen.

Mit allem Respekt, aber dieser Laden hat null Respekt gegenüber seiner Kundschaft. Wir waren zu siebt essen und haben alle Schnitzel bestellt – das war ein Betonklotz. Das Fleisch war überhaupt nicht zart. Und die Cola? Das war echt der Hammer! Sie haben einfach frech Freeway-Cola von Lidl, Aldi oder ähnlichen Discountern ausgeschenkt. Ich vermeide grundsätzlich Restaurants, die Getränke aus PET-Flaschen ausschenken. Aber dieses Restaurant schenkt sogar billige PET-Freeway-Getränke aus – ehrlich, wie frech! Ich habe höflich gefragt, ob man die Getränke bitte austauschen könne. Der ältere Herr meinte nur, die Cola habe eben keine Kohlensäure mehr – da könne man nichts machen, da sie aus PET-Flaschen sei. Einfach unverschämt! Doch, man kann sehr wohl etwas machen – zum Beispiel Getränke in Glasflaschen ausschenken. Und ja, 33 cl Coca-Cola oder Afri-Cola wären für diesen Preis wohl angemessen. Ihr seid einfach unverschämt. Die Gastronomie-Mehrwertsteuer wurde von 19 % auf 7 % gesenkt – und der Gast hat nichts davon. Warum? Echt frech! Dieser Laden ist für mich ein Abzocker ohne Qualität. Keine Chance – ich werde nie wieder hierherkommen. Ach ja, das Tisch ist auch noch kaputt, es kippt! 😅 totale Katastrophe

Ein Ort, an den ich seit 25 Jahren immer gerne wiederkomme! Tolle Atmosphäre, leckeres Essen, nette Leute. Top: Beste Pommes Frites! Wer hier keine 5 Sterne vergibt, dem kann man nicht helfen...

Besere koordination zwischen Kelner muß noch verbessert werden, mein schnitzel zu dün trocken und zu stark gebraten meiner Empfindung nach.

Seid Jahren ein Fest hierher zu kommen

Die Tannenburg ist im Großraum Wiesbaden recht populär. Dafür wird es Gründe geben. Unsere Erfahrungen indes sind relativ ernüchternd: Trotz Reservierung mussten wir hier länger auf Einlass warten als im Hamburger Miniatur-Wunderland. Man steht in einem zugigen, vollgestellten Vor-Raum, der zusätzlich von Gästen frequentiert wird, die die Toilette aufsuchen müssen. Hat man nach dieser Wartezeit Platz genommen und bestellt, wartet man (durchschnittlich) eine Stunde auf das Essen. Man bekommt unappetitlich große Portionen in ordentlicher Kantinenqualität. Die schiere Masse mag einer der Gründe für die Popularität des Hauses sein. Mit gepflegter Gastronomie hat das so gar nichts zu tun, auch wenn das rustikale Ambiente ganz charmant sein kann. Auf meinen Bezahlwunsch hin wurde mir eröffnet, dass Kartenzahlung nicht möglich sei. Erst als der Servicekraft klar wurde, dass ich kein Bargeld dabei hatte, ging es doch - ohne jede Störung. Was soll man davon halten? Wer auf Masse statt Klasse setzt, bekommt hier ein ganz ordentliches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wer halbwegs kultiviert Essen gehen möchte ohne unzumutbare Wartezeiten, der muss Wiesbaden für die Tannenburg nicht verlassen!

Essen war wieder erstklassig. Schneller und freundlicher Service. Alles top macht weiter so, wir kommen immer wieder gerne vorbei.

Wir waren mit fünf Personen zwar schon vor etwas längerer Zeit hier, allerdings muss ich doch noch mal meine fünf – Sterne Rezension loswerden. Habe alles in sehr, sehr guter Erinnerung.

Wir sind heute von Hofheim am Taunus extra hierher gefahren da laut Google geöffnet ist, dem war leider nicht so weil der Inhaber es nicht nötig hat seine Öffnungszeiten online zu aktualisieren. Danke für Nichts, Ihr seht uns nie wieder in diesem Schuppen!

Dieses Lokal hat ein wunderbares Ambiente. Man wird am Eingang vom Chef begrüßt und zum Tisch geführt. Der Stihl des Lokales hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Die Schnitzel sind geschmacklich der Hammer und die Größe überwältigend.

Das Essen ist immer gleichwertig sehr gut. Die Portionen sind sehr üppig und kaum zu schaffen. Sie werden gerne eingepackt und mitgegeben. Service funktioniert super auch wenn oft viele Gäste da sind. Viel mehr Personal als in anderen Restaurants. Ich gehe dort seit Jahren zum Essen und wurde nie enttäuscht. 100 % Empfehlung.

We've been going there for 30 years and have always been satisfied.

We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table, where the evening's special recommendations were explained to us, which we gladly tried. We had mussels as a starter and various main courses, all of which were excellent. I would particularly like to emphasize the truly friendly and efficient service that evening. The only minor criticisms were the parking situation and the somewhat dated decor. However, we would love to return for another pleasant evening.

The food was very good and the prices are OK for the quality delivered.

We've been coming back to Tannenburg since 1990 and love it: the food is always excellent, the service is very pleasant, and the atmosphere is unforgettable ❤️ Even though we've lived over 300km away from Tannenburg for the past 18 years... ...it's a must-try in our autumn menu, especially for the mussels in creamy dill sauce: excellent and unique!

I've been going to Hans for about 20 years now and love it here! The food is always delicious and the ambiance is simply dreamy.

Normally, I'd give it 5 stars. The food is still very good, but unfortunately, the portions are half the size and the price has gone up. What a shame.

We drove here especially from Darmstadt because we really like the restaurant and have been there several times. The food was delicious again, only the sauces were a bit off. For the first time, we ordered a side salad, but at €6, it was really small, which we found a bit expensive. Considering the place was packed on a Saturday, the service was attentive and super friendly. The ambiance is also very nice and cozy; we sat in the winter garden this time. I took my parents to the Tannenburg for the first time, and they really enjoyed it too.

I've enjoyed coming here for 30 years. Friendly, always cheerful staff, attentive. They kept everything under control. The last few times we've noticed that things aren't as good anymore. The schnitzel is still good. Less sauce, the fries are of lower quality. The delicious bread with dip on the front – no longer available. You get a can of Freeway Coke Zero for full price. A no-go for me in a restaurant. There are plenty of quality Coke alternatives if you don't want to support the big soft drink manufacturers anymore. Sounds to me purely like profit maximization at the expense of the customer. The service was very inattentive. We would have drunk more or even ordered dessert if someone had visited our table. It's a shame, but I remember the Tannenburg from good times. Since it's always a 45-minute drive, we won't be back for now. The house and the dining room are still cozy. But the surroundings are missing.

Good schnitzels and minced steaks have been served for decades, reasonably priced considering the size. Bring a (very) hungry! Not really suitable for a lighter appetite (at least the schnitzels)! ;-)

Consistent high quality for 25 years

The schnitzel was okay, the sauces were more like ready-made powders, which brings us to the most shabby points in my opinion. Tortellini in cream sauce was rather runny. Salt and pepper shakers from the discount store on the table (at least they refilled it). What's absolutely unacceptable is putting a Freeway Coke out of a can on the table (with a glass). The dessert, the ice cream, was most likely from the same store as the Coke. Other reviews state that the boss is anti-Trump and therefore doesn't want to offer American products (Coca-Cola, etc.), a childish excuse to generate money. There are also excellent German alternatives. The bottom line: when I go out to eat, I don't want to be served discount store garbage, and I'm happy to pay more for that if everything is just right. By the way, we also brought it up there. The waiter just said he didn't like it either, but the boss wanted it that way.

Always a nice place to stop by, with delicious food (large portions!), friendly service, and a truly quaint atmosphere. Definitely worth a try!

A very nice restaurant with lots of charm, idyllically situated on the edge of the forest – a really cool location. We had the Cordon Bleu, paprika schnitzel with hunter's sauce, and tomato spaghetti. The food was delicious, especially the hunter's sauce, which is highly recommended! The staff is super friendly, and the food comes to the table quickly. Prices range from around €20–25 per person. Definitely worth a visit!

Very good, solid schnitzels. I always enjoy coming here, even if it's not exactly around the corner for us. I also love the location; it's simply a wonderful, charming place. Unfortunately, the garden was closed for renovations, but I'm looking forward to it reopening. The owner is incredibly friendly and always concerned about the well-being of his guests. I also found the service staff to be very good; the chef's polite manner is reflected in their service.

We've been coming back every now and then for many years. Today I had the impression that the Tannenburg is past its prime. The decor hasn't been updated in a long time, and the quality of the food has somehow declined. The terrace is currently closed due to construction. I don't have to make the long journey for that, which is a shame.

We visited the Tannenburg again after a long wait and, after a short wait, got a table for two. The food was – as always – excellent. Unfortunately, the service from the young staff currently leaves much to be desired. Although the employees seem to be trying hard, there is a noticeable lack of genuine passion for service. It took an unusually long time for us to place our food and drink orders. Some of my questions had to be repeated – which wasn't due to the ambient noise – and some answers were rather laconic. An example of what I didn't like: I ordered a dish with garlic mayonnaise, and my brother ordered a dish with fries. When he asked for mayonnaise for his fries, the waiter promised to bring some – but then he said my brother could simply use my mayonnaise, which was similar. I found that inappropriate. Such decisions should be left to the guest and not made or suggested over their heads. We hope that the young service team will make a slightly better impression on our next visit.

We've been here several times and have always been satisfied. The food was good, if not of the highest quality. Today, however, things were completely different. It started with all five Cokes and Spezis we ordered being non-carbonated and not tasting like Coca-Cola as usual. Upon inquiry, the manager personally came and explained that he no longer uses American products because of Donald Trump. No Coca-Cola, no Heinz ketchup, etc. You can certainly do that, but then you should also communicate this to your guests and not list the wrong prices on your website and offer "Fanta," which, as we all know, also comes from Coca-Cola. Of course, you can also use good German products. Afri-Cola, Fritz-Cola, or Paulaner Spezi, for example. But Freeway Cola from Lidl in the 1.5-liter PET bottle doesn't work in the restaurant. And certainly not in Coca-Cola or Afri-Cola glasses. I truly felt cheated. And if you're going to serve pepper and salt from Lidl or Rewe (yes!), at least refill it. Then it won't seem so cheap. The food is still of a good standard, even if they really need to work on the sauces. I'm no expert, but these seem to be convenience foods or pre-mixed products. For a schnitzel for €20.50 (why does the website list net prices?! That can confuse people / anyone who thinks otherwise is a scoundrel), you can expect fresh mushrooms and sauce. The dressing on the side salad is also too thick. Some of the tomatoes, in particular, were quite dark and tasteless. I drove home today with mixed feelings. More expensive and worse than usual. That's not right. We'd like to come back, but that will depend on whether anything changes. In my opinion, the direction they're taking is the wrong one.

Absolutely recommendable, the food is very good, fresh and plentiful, I don't even know when I've had such a hot meal other than at home, the staff is very friendly and quick, the prices are top, so in my opinion the price-performance ratio is exceeded, you feel comfortable here, the ambience is an experience for my taste, everything is comfortably designed in an old villa

This restaurant is an institution in Taunusstein. For as long as I can remember you can get schnitzels, steaks, salads and tons of delicious fries here. It's always great how friendly you are greeted here. And because it's divided into different rooms, you feel more like you're staying with friends than sitting in a restaurant.

A regular guest for over 24 years now. Always, really always, perfect. Friendly, attentive, worth every penny. And if it takes 5 minutes longer? Doesn't matter. It was a lovely evening Hans, thank you very much.

How is it possible to gather all the good things together in one place? The taste of the food was incredible — each dish better than the last! The French fries weren’t precooked; they were handmade from real potatoes and freshly fried. The champignon sauce had an amazing buttery aroma that made it even more special. The lamb hex was the dish of the day — perfectly cooked and served with a delicious sauce. The portion sizes were really big, and considering the quality, the prices were very fair. The atmosphere was also fantastic — I loved the charm of the old house, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I truly enjoyed my time and my meal there. Thank you!

It may be that other rooms are better, we sat somewhere in the back where the carpet is held together with adhesive tape, there are cables and wires hanging from the walls, there is nothing more to say about my reservation with a nice table for the birthday child.

The bar at the entrance is impressive and promises cosiness. Our highlight is of course the boss! There is no adjective for it yet... he is an institution! 🫶 We were always served kindly and kindly at the table and they always tried to make sure everything was going well during our stay. The kitchen offers seasonal and regional dishes and no one goes home hungry. The portions are large and the price-performance ratio is good. Best food in the Rhine-Main area, waiters and restaurant very nicely decorated. Service was amazing, everyone was friendly, food was ready quickly, large portions and delicious, delicious schnitzel. Must eat!

After we were back in the Tannenburg after 30 years (we found out on the internet that it was still the same operators), we were satisfied with the food, the schnitzels were the same as they were 30 years ago, but the whole thing is getting quite old, and the intense smell of toilets in the entrance area isn't exactly inviting either. But no matter, we had our retro moment and wish you good years in the Tannenburg!

I had the beef tartare. I know beef tartare differently fillet through the meat grinder or chopped. Was very disappointed, it was just ground beef, but 100% not fillet. It was too bright, too solid for that. I know it very well because I eat it often. It's a shame, it's better to take a little more euros, but that's the right thing. I'm sorry for my opinion.

When we entered the restaurant there was a terrible smell of feces. When I went to the toilet I got a shock. It smelled so bad, there was obviously used toilet paper on the floor, it was dirty and there were cobwebs hanging all over the room. There was a “threatening letter” hanging over the sink that was supposed to curse all dirty people. Although the food was really good, this condition made me question the hygiene...

I can only recommend the Tannenburg. It has indeed changed over the course of this year for 40 years A lot has changed when I visit local, but I am and will remain a fan. The service would like to make more of an effort

We have been here many times and are thrilled every time! The schnitzels are simply to die for, and each of us was full and happy, as always. The desserts are great too. The service is always friendly and quick. You should definitely make a reservation on the weekend as it is very popular. Absolutely recommended!

For me it's been the best restaurant I've known for years. Never had anything to complain about here. The food is simply fantastic and the atmosphere, especially inside, is extremely quaint and cozy. We're happy to take a 45-minute drive there. Unfortunately you can't give 6 stars.

Beautiful 🤩 We had mussels with cream sauce for dinner. There was also warm crusty bread that we used to absorb the sauce. The food was delicious 🤤 The service was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our space in the winter garden. We'll definitely be back 🙋‍♂️

We came here because of the good reviews, but unfortunately the restaurant didn't live up to our expectations. The young staff tries hard, but unfortunately you can't speak of passion for service here. To eat: Both the salad dressing and the cream sauce on the tortellini were very peppery. The consistency of the sauce was more like a soup. My steak was served medium well instead of medium rare - shame about the meat. But here I would like to emphasize the size of the steak. The Champion cream sauce was inedible, so it stayed in the gravy boat. The toilets were dirty, partly broken and almost historic - I felt like I had been transported back in time by several decades.

The toilet doesn't work at all! For €35 steak you have to be able to go to the toilet.

Had a great meal with 6 people. There are many smaller rooms, so it is very cozy. The portions are very large. But it's no problem to take the leftovers with you.
