Haus Galland in Herne

Anlässlich eines Geburtstags waren wir nach 4 Jahren mal wieder in dieses Lokal eingeladen. Vorweg: es war unser letzter Besuch dort. Vorspeise: Rinderkraftbrühe, 2 Klößchen für jeden und etwas Streuwürze, sehr "geschmacksneutral". Am Buffet durfte man sich nicht selbst bedienen, es war alles abgezählt, 2 Stangen Spargel ?, bei Bedarf einer 3. Stange hatte man schon ein schlechtes Gewissen. nachgereicht wurde nicht. Der Lachs auch sehr "übersichtlich",nicht für jeden vorhanden. Pellkartöffelchen und Kroketten, pampige Soße , Tüte? Wer gerne die kurz vorhanden Klöße gehabt hätte : Fehlanzeige, wären nur für die Gastgeber. Den Salat, ohne Schalen dazu, fand man mit etwas Glück an einem anderen Tisch ,Biertisch. Eine 2. Runde um noch etwas nachzuholen war nicht möglich, wenn man nicht schnell genug war, da schon abgeräumt. Alles sehr abgezählt. Der Nachmittagskaffee wurde lauwarm serviert. Aufgrund dieses schlechten Ergebnisses fragte ich ausnahmsweise die Gastgeber nach dem Preis den sie bezahlt haben. Fazit: Preis sehr hoch für das sehr abgespeckte Angebot, Kantinenniveau . Lichtblick: das engagierte und freundliche Servicepersonal.

Wir haben ein 95 Geburtstag gefeiert,und waren bitter enttäuscht! Viel zu teuer mit 48 € pro Person!!! Das Essen ging, wenn man nicht allzuviel Hunger hatte. Ich war kurz eine rauchen,wollidann noch mal Spargel essen....was soll ich sagen.Das Buffet war schnell verschwunden eine 2te runde gab es nicht. Da habe ich habe nicht schlecht gestaunt! Zum Salat,der ganz versteckt in der Ecke stand mußte man sich seine Schale selbst mit bringen. So nun hab es Kuchen und Kaffee....wer Kaffee gern heiß trinkt,war hier auch falsch. Alles in allem.....werde ich dort nicht mehr Speisen

Ein traumhaft schöner Aufenthalt.

Wie immer versuche ich,den von mir gewonnenen Eindruck zu bewerten. Es ist ein sehr schöner Ort mit einem gepflegten Ambiente. Er ist gut geeignet, für einen Abend zu zweit oder einer größeren Gruppe. Der Eindruck, gewährleistet von innen und außen eine gehobenen Gastronomie. Leider war unser Kellner an diesem Abend wohl sehr beschäftigt, so daß er auch kleinere Bestellungen nicht ohne Nachfrage erledigen konnte. Die Preise sind dem Ambiente angepasst aber für Menschen, die den ganzen Tag gearbeitet haben, sind die Portionen nicht gerade üppig. Für ein Mini Schnitzel mit 5 Stangen Spargel und drei halben Kartoffeln fast 30 EU zu bezahlen, sind überlegenswert. Deshalb haben wir noch nach dem Besuch in der Innenstadt einen Snack zu uns genommen. Wer aber mehr Wert aufs Ambiente legt, dürfte hier richtig sein.

Wir waren mit 11 Personen zum Abendessen. Mein Rumpsteak medium war very well done... kurz vor ungenießbar. Der Lachs ging zurück und der Sauerbraten war trocken. Die Gerichte kamen nach 1,5 Stunden Wartezeit über 20 Minuten verteilt... da waren die ersten fertig als die letzten ihr Essen bekamen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett, wusste aber leider über Essen und Getränke nicht so recht bescheid. Insgesamt hatte ich den Eindruck, hier wird noch Gastronomie geübt zu stark überhöhten Preisen bei der gebotenen Qualität... NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN!

Sehr schön gelegen, Wir waren zum Beerdigungscafe dort, es war sehr schön eingedeckt, es wurde eine Suppe serviert belegte Brötchen und kleine Kuchenstücke, dazu gab es Kaffee Wasser und getränke nach Wahl.Das Personal war hilfsbereit und freundlich. Schön und ruhig gelegen für Spaziergänge mit im Anschluß im Haus Gaĺland ein zukehren sehr zu empfehlen. Es ist ein behinderten gerechter Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Rollstuhlgerechter Eingang und Toilette vorhanden.

Waren Mitte Januar vor Ort und gegenüber früher enttäuscht. Es war innen sehr kalt, Kartenzahlung nicht möglich und die Portionen, freundlich ausgedrückt, sehr übersichtlich.

High Expectations - Great Disappointment I remember the restaurant from my childhood, which is why I was happy to be there again, but I was sorely disappointed. The location by the forest, near Gysenberg Park and the Lagos, is and remains unbeatable. However, our children were immediately scolded when they walked through the tall, unfenced meadow. If entering an area is prohibited, this should be made clear. We had reserved a table and were able to sit down right away. The waitress came relatively quickly, but didn't ask all guests what they wanted. We had to ask them directly to make sure everyone got something. Overall, very few tables were occupied on the holiday (including our three), which is why it's inexplicable that two waitresses needed about 25 minutes to even take our food orders. We waited over an hour for our food, which quickly becomes a real ordeal with small children. The food wasn't outstanding either. The asparagus dish with potatoes, for example, consisted of six small asparagus spears and six to eight small triplets, making it seem rather meager. The children's dishes also seemed rather stingy, considering they cost around €16 each. The entire menu was intended to create the impression of fine dining, but in reality, it was rather mediocre and one-sided. The overall ambiance also disappointed me. The inn used to be buzzing, and you had to be lucky to even get a table on a holiday and in good weather. This time, both the beer garden and the terrace were completely empty, giving the impression of neglect. The interior of the inn is also quite dated. It's a shame that such a great inn isn't run with more care.

I recently went there for a birthday party. The service was friendly and attentive. However, I was very disappointed with the food. The dish I ordered consisted of three different meats with croquettes and salad. Since there was no sauce, the dish was very dry. The meat was dry, and the beef steak tasted sour. The piece of turkey was a breaded, pre-made product. For the price of around €25, it simply wasn't acceptable. The portion was also quite small (which wouldn't have been so bad if the quality had been better). The dessert, at least, was quite good.

The training was conducted on-site by Kreitz-Ostermann. Highly recommended; the catering and lunch were absolutely top-notch and left nothing to be desired! The staff was friendly and the venue clean.

We were here for a funeral service. Sandwiches, frozen cake, and soup. The rolls were appetizingly presented, but the cake looked a bit lost. The soup, there were two varieties: a vegetarian tomato soup and a broth with marrow dumplings. The broth was great, and there was plenty of garnish. The tomato soup, unfortunately, wasn't my cup of tea; it just tasted like tomato paste to me. The ambiance there is very nice, from the fireplace to the individual rooms. Here, modern meets half-timbered. One important point that I pay close attention to is the toilets—they should be cleaned more, especially dusting and cleaning underneath the toilets, but otherwise, they were clean.

We've never eaten so badly. The beef fillet had tendon running through it twice. The chicken was dry and tough. The meat and fried potatoes were without salt. When I asked for pepper twice, I was given salt only after I complained again, and it came from a shaker instead of a grinder. The atmosphere was also dated, very uncomfortable, and all four of us froze.

Had lunch on Christmas Day. Excellent selection, including starter and dessert, at a fair price. Thanks to the service staff at the buffet, there was no queue or crowding. Excellent! Highly recommended. The entire team was incredibly helpful and friendly. Even though the place was packed. Bottom line: we'll definitely be back!!!

There aren't that many German restaurants anymore, so Haus Galland stands out! Pleasant atmosphere, energetic and friendly service. There was a game buffet that evening: venison, wild boar, goose, and game goulash. This was accompanied by very tasty side dishes and five different sauces. The Calvados sauce, in particular, was more than delicious. An excellent soup was served first, followed by various desserts. This restaurant is highly recommended! We'd gladly return.

Good gastronomy in a great atmosphere. Visitors can expect a small menu, but that's what it says, it tastes good. The selection for vegetarians is a bit limited with two dishes, but if you like roast, schnitzel or roulades, you will get your money's worth here.

Hello, I had dinner there yesterday and was served a delicious goulash soup For the main course I was served spare ribs with fries I expected something different. The quantity was sufficient Only they weren't grilled the way you know it. The ribs were completely over-seasoned and very salty. Unfortunately, after I told the waitress this, there was no response or feedback. I then paid for the food but there was no response despite the fact that I gave the usual tip. For me this is a reason not to visit this restaurant anymore

I went there for the first time today and was in a very positive mood. Cozy, beautiful interior, very attentive and friendly staff, and the food was delicious and very filling!✨ The pork schnitzel was tasty, crispy on the outside, and not chewy either. The dessert was also very good!😋 I would recommend the restaurant!✨

Great place and cozy atmosphere. We wondered why there were no other guests here at 7 p.m. on a Sunday in the middle of summer?! The answer is simple: The food is bad and the prices outrageous. You order a gluttonous soup and yay... the good Unox from a can. Disgusting! The rest was overpriced and the meat was tough. Absolutely a disgrace. The service was nice, though. If I were a chef, I'd be ashamed! Or rather, I hope there's even a chef working here. Never again!!

The occasion was extremely sad, but we and the mourners found a very nice place to eat together in Haus Galland. The service was very good, as was the food including the service at the buffet, including from the boss himself. The extremely atmospheric design of the guest rooms underlines the cuisine, flair and location of the inn and is a harmonious overall concept that I could only wish for. Many thanks to Mr. Galland and his great team.

We had reserved a table for 5 people today, unfortunately the service was difficult due to the beautiful weather and Mother's Day. We were immediately told that it would take longer, but that wasn't a problem was for us. The drinks arrived after about 30 minutes, one drink was missing but was delivered quickly. Unfortunately the drinks were very, very little / almost no carbon dioxide. When I asked if everything was OK, I said so and there were new drinks free of charge, this time carbonated. The food came after about 60 more minutes, first there was the salad. The portion was clear, the main ingredient of the salad was white cabbage / coleslaw, with a few diced cucumbers, a halved cocktail tomato and a few leaves of lettuce, a sauce that was too sweet for my taste and drowned the salad, so unfortunately the taste was just ok. 15 minutes later the warm dishes were served, rump steak and schnitzel with fries were ordered as well as the Transylvanian platter. The rump steak was a decent size, cooked medium rare as requested, but unfortunately barely lukewarm. Here I would have liked a hot plate with a hot rump steak. The schnitzel was relatively small, so another schnitzel was delivered without being asked. The surprise: instead of fries, there were potato wedges in a small metal basket on the plate. Unfortunately the fries were out. Here I would have wished that people had asked beforehand what side dish they would like to have instead. When they noticed that I wasn't so happy with the side dish, they immediately offered to bring me another side dish of my choice. I didn't take advantage of the offer and ate the potato wedges, which admittedly tasted pretty good and were hot too. Unfortunately, the portion was also quite manageable here. With the Transylvania platter, the salad was on the - this time hot - plate. So unfortunately it was already lost and warm with the herb butter. Conclusion: the service tried incredibly hard to serve us in the best possible way despite the busy times. The second drinks were perfectly chilled and carbonated. The salad is much better, unfortunately, the herb butter didn't taste like it was homemade either. I've eaten the meat much better, more tender and hotter elsewhere. The best thing was the potato wedges, which I didn't actually order. The location of the half-timbered house at the Gysenberg Revierpark is rurally romantic with the adjacent farm. The atmosphere is rustic, a bit old, but has been renovated. The toilet facilities are clean and the washbasins are modern and made of stone. The individual toilet cubicles are quite narrow. If you're slim like me, it just fits. Conclusion: the location and the service are very good, unfortunately the food was just ok, because you also have to evaluate the price-performance ratio here. Given the price (just under €30) for a rump steak with fries and salad, you can certainly expect more. At El Cadoro a few weeks ago I had the same dish much better, hotter, better seasoned and with more side dishes (large mixed salad and vegetables) at a lower price and very fast service.

We were at Haus Galland for a confirmation ceremony. The ambience is great, the service is also very attentive and the food is a dream. There was a buffet including service.

Ich habe ein Schnitzel für 18,00€ bestellt und die Portion war sehr klein. Das Schnitzel war klein und die Portion Pommes war wirklich sehr wenig und eine Kinderportion. Der Beilagensalad war fad und die Sauce nicht selbst gemacht! Zum Nachtisch gab es einen Kaiserschmarn für überteuerte 9,90€. Leider war der Kaiserschmarn ein Fertigprodukt und hat überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Das Fertigprodukt wurde auch nicht „frisch“ zubereitet, sondern bestenfalls aufgewärmt. Leider hatte ich auch nach dem Essen leichte Bauchschmerzen! Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmte überhaupt nicht! Da die Speisekarte relativ klein war, ist nicht zu verstehen, dass nicht frisch gekocht wird. Auch die Nachtischkarte mit nur zwei Kuchen und Kaiserschmarn gibt nicht viel her und ist völlig überteuert. Kein Wunder das das Restaurant und die Terrasse an einem Sonntag nur wenige Kunden hatte. Dabei liegt das Restaurant am Waldrand in schönster Natur! Doch wer will schon überteuertes Fertigessen essen? Niemand!

Nice restaurant, great location. Everyone was very friendly and great for me, dogs allowed. We celebrated a birthday. Unfortunately it took a very long time for the food to arrive. Then the first dishes came, others still had to wait a long time. And in the end two dishes were missing. If you put steak on the menu for larger groups, you have to be able to handle it. The staff apologized nicely, but someone else could have come up short. Therefore only 4 stars. Otherwise, as before, it was a great stay.

Every year there is a really good goose and game buffet! The selection, taste and quality of the food are really good, especially considering the price-performance ratio. The service and ambience are also good. I've had better goose now and then, but not as a buffet. The bottom line is that it's already top class. All in all, five stars are almost too high, but four stars would be too few. And where else can you find good restaurants with German cuisine where the operator himself is at the buffet? We should support such restaurants more and contribute to their preservation!

Update November 2023: Again everything was great. Super nice service, very tasty! September 2023: It's all ok. Would be too easy. We were there on a warm summer evening and sat comfortably outside. Everything was really very good, food, drinks and service.

Always happy, good food in a cozy atmosphere - at lunchtime with the family, or in the evening for a beer with friends, even as a break from a walk in Gysenberg - or for a celebration... :-) And I'm looking forward to curling...

Sehr nette Bedienung. Das vegetarische Gericht war nicht besonders hochwertige, kein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, wenig Geschmack. Etwas mehr vegetarische Auswahl wäre zeitgemäß.

Gute Küche mit hoher Qualität, Preis-Leistung Menge als gerechtfertigt. Wer ein Schnitzel für 7,80 € von schlechter Qualität möchte, soll sich bitte in die pommes Bude gehen, hier gibt es das NICHT. Der Lachs war sehr gut, die Hummersauce der Knaller. Der Service total nett, schnell, und man kann auch mal ein Späßchen machen, ebenso wie mit dem Chef. Der Kaiserschmarrn ist übrigens auch super, fast wie in Österreich, mit der beste jenseits der Alpen, und wir wissen wovon wir reden😎 Wir kommen bestimmt wieder

Ich möchte keine Sterne vergeben. Ich habe das Restaurant eigentlich in guter Erinnerung. Wir wollten heute für einen Geburtstag reservieren, aber die aktuelle Speisekarte konnte nicht überzeugen. Schade.

Gemütliches Lokal, freundliche Bedienung und gutem Essen. Schön gelegen, sehr zu empfehlen.

Irgendwie hat sich am Ambiente in den letzten 40 Jahren nicht viel geändert. Von außen schon ein wenig Patina angesetzt. Die Umgebung am Eingang macht nicht gerade einen schönen Eindruck. Bemerkenswert ist schon, dass im unteren Schaukasten noch die Spargelkarte am 19.07. aushängt. Die Räumlichkeiten wurden renoviert. Die Tische für die Beerdigung waren sehr schön eingedeckt. Die Suppe schmeckte auch gut. ABER warum wurden die Suppentassen nicht erst abgeräumt, bevor der Kaffee eingeschänkt wurde? So war es nicht möglich den darunter stehenden Teller für den Kuchen oder die Brötchen zu nutzen. Auch musste erst nachgefragt werden, ob noch Kaffee nachgeschenkt werden kann. Bei Personalmangel hätte man die Kaffeekannen auch auf die einzelnen Tische stellen können. Ob die Brötchen, die nach einer Stunde alle waren oder es so gewünscht war, dass nur noch belegte Brote gereicht wurden, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Zu meiner Konfirmation 1978 hatten wir eine ähnliche Erfahrung gemacht. Kartoffeln und die diversen Beilagen standen auf den Tischen, nur das Fleisch wurde erst auf ausdrückliche Nachfrage in kleinen Mengen am Platz serviert. Hier ist noch sehr viel Luft nach oben.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Die Mittagsmenüs waren durchweg kalt. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ungenügend. Die Klöse Miniatur aus der Tüte und aufgewärmt. Das Rotkohl aus dem Glas und der Sauerbraten hatte wenig mit Sauerbraten zu tun. Leider sehr enttäuschend. Da wir zum zweiten Mal hereingefallen sind, wird uns dieses Lokal nicht wiedersehen.

Wunderschön gelegen mit toller Sonnenterasse! Nach einem Spaziergang im Gysenberg sind wir zum Abendessen dort geblieben. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Das Haus Galland ist sehr schön! Es befindet sich auch in einer schönen Umgebung!

Schönes Ambiente und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Die Lage ist genial. Erst spazierengehen, im nahen Gysenberg Park, und dann hier einkehren und gut Speisen. Jetzt im Herbst brennt im Kamin ein gemütliches Feuer. Das Personal ist höflich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und vor allem nett angerichtet. Findet man nicht immer. Vor allem Den Nachtisch kann ich empfehlen.

Eines der besten Restaurants in denen ich bisher gegessen habe. Das Personal ist super freundlich, das Essen ist erste Klasse und vor allem jeder Sonderwunsch beim Essen wird erfüllt, wie andere Beilagen oder gar anderes Fleisch . Und der Chef persönlich begrüßt die Gäste und bringt sogar manchmal das Essen noch selbst an den Tisch.Und das selbe kann man über das Catering bzw den Partyservice sagen auch das hab ich schon ausprobiert also in diesem Sinne gute hunger

Essen gut, faire Preise, Service top Wir sind nach einer Wanderung in den Biergarten eingekehrt. Nachdem uns die Speisen- und Getränkekarten gereicht wurde, hat man unserem Hund sofort einen Napf mit Wasser gebracht. Sehr aufmerksam! Abendessen und Getränke waren sehr lecker. Während der Coronazeit wurde das Restaurant innen renoviert und modernisiert.

Wir waren in einer größeren Gruppe dort und das ganz sicher zum letzten Mal. Die Bedienung war an schnodderigkeit kaum zu überbieten, ein dummer Spruch jagde den nächsten. Das Essen war lieblos angerichtet und durchweg kalt, Portionen klein, Preis Leistung eine Frechheit. Wir haben uns die gute Laune nicht verderben lassen und ziehen die Konsequenzen

Wir waren am Sonntag Mittag dort essen und mit der Qualität des Essens sehr zufrieden. Es gab eine Mittagskarte mit Vorsuppe (exzellente Spargelsuppe), verschiedene Hauptgerichte, wo für jeden etwas dabei war (verschiedene Fleisch- und Fischsorten sowie 2 vegetarische Gerichte) und einen kleinen Mascarpone Nachttisch mit Erdbeersoße. Der Service war sehr schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam. Schade ist, dass die Einrichtung sehr rustikal ist und dann mit modernen Elementen ergänzt wurde, was aber definitiv zu viel ist - alleine 5 verschiedene Blumen Dekos auf einem 4er Tisch, von künstlich bis frisch.

Seit Jahrzehnten ist die Qualität in Service und Speisen stets einwandfrei. Nette Bedienung in gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Das Essen schmeckt und hier ist für jeden etwas dabei. Die Preise sind ebenfalls ok.

Celebrating a birthday with 11 people (family and friends), having cake and coffee and a dinner. Very nice room, open fire-place, excellent kitchen and service. Good possibility to come with your own car (parking is no problem) or with bus (a bus-stop is very close at the LAGO swimming event). Sure that I will come again in the future !

Es hat weder mit der tischreservierung,noch mit dem essen funktioniert.die tischeindeckung hatte schon gebrauchsspuren.mein Getränk war mehr als schal.das Gemüse Lau warm Pommes dritten trocken,das File Steaks totgebraten,als wie bestelt Medium. Von kompetenter Bedingung keine Spur.

Das Restaurant Haus Galland ist stets zu empfehlen. Sei es ein kleiner Umtrunk nach einem Spaziergang oder eine große Festgesellschaft beispielsweise für eine Hochzeit. Die Speisen sind grandios und Getränke stehen dem nicht nach. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Wir kehren immer wieder gerne hier ein.
