Very pleasant restaurant for brunch, lunch and dinner. A small downer, unfortunately no changing dishes at brunch. Nevertheless, the visit is worth it.

Were there around 3 p.m. Hardly any tables occupied. I wanted to charge my e-bike battery while we were there. The socket was directly under our bench. The waitress had asked the boss if all the outside sockets were out of order. Highly unbelievable. I was not offered an alternative. Food tasted ok. But saved on the side dish (spätzle). If you want to fill up, you should eat a little something beforehand.

Very cozy place, great decor. Great food and very friendly service. We had the Leberkäs, super delicious. We sat on the terrace, it was very comfortable!!!

The food is fantastic and so is the ambience. Unfortunately you sit very squashed at two tables and it is very loud. In addition, almost all guests are allowed to choose their seats freely, but we were not allowed to do this. There were even guests who were allowed to sit in pairs at a table of four. Maybe we should start treating all guests equally here.

Nice atmosphere and very tasty, but the potato omelette from the special menu could have been a lot larger. Okay, the price (€9.90) could have told me that it was a mini portion 🤷‍♀️ Definitely nothing to fill you up...

There is everything you need for a great breakfast.

A large restaurant that gives a very cozy feeling as soon as you enter. The Bavarian charm that is conveyed to you is reflected in the food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the food is really recommended. A good place for anyone who appreciates Bavarian cuisine.

Food tastes relatively average but good in terms of portion size. The restaurant shines with its drinks and atmosphere. The good-humoured employees definitely contribute to this. Update 2024: I now think the food is better, but some dishes are somehow priced way too high. The atmosphere and, above all, the employees are still great!

You won't get much more Bavarian anywhere this far west.

Behavior is a matter of luck. When we kindly asked for a table for 6 people, we met a rushed but friendly server who referred us to the boss. The boss responded to the request with "You'll have to wait" in what we thought was a derogatory tone... When spoken to, disinterested despite the rude behavior... It's a shame actually - it was nice next door...

Cozy atmosphere, which is certainly even better in winter. The service was really good, we never waited long and Eileen in particular was really great. Food was tasty and plentiful. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Very nice restaurant...were there for breakfast...so far everything was good....only the coffee for breakfast didn't work at all.....totally stale...I haven't had such bad coffee in a long time

We were there for brunch. Everything was lovingly and attractively prepared and tasted great. The rustic but modern ambience is unbeatable.

I have always gone there without a reservation and was immediately given a place for myself and my son. The food offering for children is just as good as for adults. Kind regards to Caro - very child-friendly ☺️

Beautiful restaurant both in summer with a beautiful terrace or in winter with a lovingly furnished interior with a fireplace. The food is good and tasty, but not a highlight. The service is very nice and friendly, but often seems overwhelmed when it's busy. However, there may also be a lack of staff. The breakfast buffet or brunch on Sunday is recommended.

Prices are far from good and bad, getting a handful of warmed cheese spaetzle for almost €15 is just cheeky. The selection of food was good but the quality of the food and the portion size were simply not justified for the price!

I've eaten better before. Really nothing special. Fried potatoes tasted like they had been made hours ago and kept warm. For me the schnitzel was just convenient The service was good. The ambience was, as the name Alm suggests, rustic. So 👌 ok Tried it once...that was it.

Nice here and the staff is friendly. We were extremely hungry and the food took a while to arrive. Otherwise all good. I was narrow here and ordered a lion steak. That was too dry for me.

I've been there several times now and it's always been very good. You just have to be a bit into the Bavarian ambience.

Good food, parking, what more could you want. Rouladen, goulash, where else can you get that?

We used to love going to the mountain pasture in Herne often. Unfortunately, our visits become fewer and fewer, especially in the warmer months. The reason for this is that the large sun terrace is often closed. Because despite the already quite high prices for drinks, the beautiful, large sun terrace was still the deciding factor in staying at the Alm. But again today (May 25, 2024) and on a Saturday with pleasant temperatures and sunshine, the large terrace was closed. And the few tables on the small terrace were of course completely occupied, which is understandable given the nice weather and the weekend. So, like many others, we sadly had to move on. A “no go” for me!

A Bavarian restaurant in Pott. Sounds strange, but it has worked well for years. Good cuisine, good service and acceptable prices.

Quite a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the "beautiful" waiter doesn't understand jokes at all, he couldn't even smile at a joke. My cheese spaetzle was almost cold and didn't taste particularly good either. I guess I had too high expectations because of all the good reviews. The meat of the lye burger tasted like frozen and the tuber wasn't really edible either. Too bad for the price. In general it seemed like a lot of finished products were being used

We were here for brunch with 6 people on May 9th, 2024. Arriving by car worked well, and I think there's plenty of parking space available. From the outside the Alm looks very good, the impression inside was also very good. The staff we came into contact with was also very nice. For a good €20 there was a good selection of breakfast and lunch. At breakfast there were the classics, rolls (different types and sizes, sausage, salmon, jam, muesli, etc. However, I didn't like the scrambled eggs at all. At lunch it will be something more Bavarian, white sausage, spaetzle, roast suckling pig and other things that I can't think of. We'll definitely come back :-)

Very nice place really typical of Bavaria. The dishes are really extremely well garnished as are the desserts.

Been there as a couple. Unfortunately the menu was too salty. The service took the dish off the bill even though some of it had already been eaten (hunger drove it in). I call that very, very fair. Thanks for that, I can only recommend it. Oh well, 2nd menu delicious 😋

We celebrated a birthday there last Saturday. The food was incredibly delicious, everyone was thrilled and felt totally at home. It was a great evening in this beautiful restaurant. We'll be back soon because it's another birthday coming up.

It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious schnitzel.

Unfortunately, the Alm has deteriorated quite a bit over the years. For example, there used to always be a seasonal menu with asparagus and strawberry dishes, which unfortunately have not been available for several years. The salad with chicken breast for 17 euros used to be served with a much larger selection of vegetables (radishes, peppers, etc.) and Alpine bread. Today you get a 95% green leaf salad in which 5 cherry tomatoes, 4 slices of cucumber and 3 grated carrots have been mixed in, as well as 3 slices of dried-out baguette. Unfortunately, the price is now totally disproportionate and the dish is on the back burner. As always, the service was super attentive and quick despite the large number of guests.

Ambience great, service impeccable. Unfortunately the food is too expensive for the quality. Without question, it's tasty but no wow effect and the chicken tastes better on any cart in front of any supermarket than it does here.

It's always worth a visit. Personally, the inside of the chicken was too dry for me, but that's a matter of taste.

I ordered the Leberkäs, which was delicious. Fried potatoes could have been less for me, but was ok. Everything was fresh and the apple strudel was super tasty, plus the dough was thin. Definitely recommended 👍🏼

A visit to the Bavaria Alm after shopping was a good choice. The menu has delicious delicacies. The portions are generous 😯 and lovingly prepared. After dinner I ordered a filter coffee, which was served hot and in an original cup (jug). I would have loved to take “THIS” one with me 😉. My route often leads from Recklinghausen to Herne. I will gladly come again .... then I would like to buy this coffee cup 👍😃😄.

Very nice and attentive staff. The decor is really rustic and takes you back to Bavaria. We were there around 2 p.m. and got a seat. If you're going to eat later, it's better to book a table in advance. Also keep in mind that the later you go, the busier and louder it gets.

Update April 12, 2024 Food was okay to good: dumplings for around 15 euros, goulash around 19 euros. Ski water at 6 euros x quite expensive. The patty on the burger seemed like pretty standard frozen food to me. It's just an accessory, but the beat music somehow doesn't fit as a background. Good service! --- Update November 18, 2021 Food still good (except for the burger bun, which was just hard and dry). What was very annoying was that the guests were placed close together (approx. 1/2m away) from each other. We didn't feel so comfortable. --- Very good food, courteous service. Can only be recommended.

Stopping off for a hearty meal and having a delicious meal worked well. For 5 points, there wasn't much missing from the food, but somehow just a little. We'll take a look again when we get a chance.

We used to always like to come, unfortunately most of the terrace was closed today, the service was OK, but the pretzel with the beer 🍺 was rock hard and from the day before yesterday! We are considering whether we will visit the Bavaria Alm again at these prices, what a shame!☹️

The Mampf (hock with cabbage) was quite good but I don't have to go to Herne specifically for it.

We wanted to have the rest of our food packed up. Instead we were given a box to pack ourselves... I've never experienced that before

The Bavarian brunch is always worth a visit. In a great atmosphere and very nice service. Only the noise level is immense when it's full.

There were four of us eating. Two out of four meals were cold. But it was changed after a complaint, but I'm not sure whether it was new or just warmed up. In terms of taste, none of the food was convincing.

Nice location, this is our second time here. Delicious food, nice conditions. However, in my opinion the prices are slightly higher. However, there is a bit of a lack of flexibility in good weather. We are at 12 degrees but the best Went there by bike in sunshine. The terrace faces the sun and, especially when the sun is shining, the terrace invites you to sit outside, but it was closed and there were only 3 tables available outside, which of course were filled quickly, the competition next door implemented this better. Nevertheless, we would like to come back and can recommend the restaurant.

Rather mixed experience today, even though it's not my first time there. 1. Service runs past the table 4 times without taking the order. 👎 Recognized and apologized the 5th time. 👌 2. Ordered Coca Cola Zero - received Sinalco Cola Zero - it doesn't work without notice. 👎 3. Alm schnitzel with a mini portion of fried potatoes and gooey fried eggs. 👎👎 The latter were then cooked again upon request - if the service staff asked 👍 - 👌 Salad was good .👍 Price level: At 100% Conviniance Food, €25 for a Sinalco Cola 0.3 and a Viennese style schnitzel (rather the worse kind) with a mini portion of fried potatoes is far too much. Every Bavarian beer garden would be ashamed of that. 👎👎👎 Overall, the prices have risen sharply, which means that I have reached a limit in principle - in the future without me and also the usual group. We get much more on offer elsewhere - quality, service and value for money.

Everything just fits here. The ambience, the friendly and attentive service and the extremely delicious food. Table reservation recommended!
