HAO in Aachen

The more guests, the worse the service. Waiting time for three Cokes Zero: 21 minutes! 😉 The food from the refrigerated counter ended up being burnt meat and raw seafood. We had to send the last plate back because we had already paid and waited over 40 minutes. It's worth going as soon as they open; everything was great then.

I enjoy eating here. There's a wide selection and everything is delicious. Many guests come from far and wide to experience Mongolian hospitality. They offer pre-prepared ingredients, and you can choose your own main courses.

The fact that HAO has been at this location for many years speaks for itself. We enjoy coming here for the buffet and have always been satisfied and (more than) full. The (vegetarian) sweet and sour soup at the buffet is particularly recommended; I've missed it at other buffets for years. The service is always cheerful and efficient, and the prices are perfectly reasonable.

I really, really regret choosing this restaurant. First of all, you have to drink, which is not included in the price listed online, you have to pay extra, which is not listed online. The waiter was terribly arrogant and a not understanding at all, she said she doesn't care, it's my money (7€ for water). I find it disgustingly disgusting to say this in a restaurant!!! The pasta was dry, because at 13:35 when I took it out, they said it was over, because they close at 14:30... They didn't even listen to my opinion, please, there is a restaurant in Herzogenrath, there is a much bigger selection, it's fresher. I would never, ever come here again, where my money is worthless. You had to pay in advance, which I don't understand, because I took the first bite of pasta back. The sushi was a disaster, the dessert was two-fold. No one came to our table to take the plates away or ask if everything was okay. Unfortunately, I really can't say anything positive about it, I completely regretted it, never again.

Hao has become a truly awful place. Everything tastes the same, is dry or chewy, even the sushi is terrible. I'm happy to pay for good food, but the quality it once had is a distant memory.

It's not worth it anymore. The staff can't do math. I paid €31.80 for one buffet item and a non-alcoholic wheat beer. I accepted it. That was the last time I'll be there anyway. The Mongolian buffet was severely lacking in variety, and the meat was very tough.

Very good food, the buffet dishes are quickly refilled, and the staff is very friendly. Update: Until a year ago, I regularly dined at HAO with various groups – family, colleagues, and friends. Unfortunately, the first negative changes became noticeable about a year ago. Yesterday, my husband and I wanted to give the restaurant another chance, but: the quality of the food has declined, the staff has been completely replaced – there seems to have been at least one change of ownership. We felt more welcome at the old HAO when the owner still walked through the restaurant to greet guests and check on things, for example, that the food containers were always refilled promptly and the food didn't get so cold that the sauces became sticky and stringy (I was disgusted by some of the dishes yesterday). Sadly, this is also reflected in the fact that the restaurant is no longer as busy. We were there on a Friday evening between 6:30 and shortly after 8:00 p.m. Without a reservation, it would have been impossible to get a table at HAO beforehand. The former charm is gone; it's nothing special anymore. What a shame! We won't be coming back anytime soon.

For those with a hearty appetite or a big appetite, a visit to the buffet is worthwhile. Of course, you can also order à la carte! Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about. The staff is friendly and attentive, taking excellent care of the guests. We've been regular visitors to HAO for quite some time now and have the impression that the owners put in a lot of effort and have improved, especially regarding desserts. Keep it up! We'll be back! Update after 4 years: After the change of ownership, it's only average now. Quality has declined in all areas. Reservations are no longer necessary; there are always plenty of free tables. This was our last visit for now.

A very attentive and friendly server! Very satisfied with my stay despite the slightly higher noise level on Saturday. I can recommend it to everyone, however, my favorite remains Kaisergarten in Kohlscheid, which is also a bit cheaper with its new all-you-can-eat option.

I went to HAO with a friend and it was a very good experience overall. The restaurant offers a large all-you-can-eat buffet with a truly wide selection – from classic Chinese dishes to Mongolian barbecue. The quality of the food was excellent; everything was fresh and the flavors were very well balanced. I was particularly impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the clean, inviting atmosphere. You really feel comfortable there and can enjoy your meal in peace. One minor point that could be improved: some of the dishes at the buffet weren't quite hot anymore. However, this is a small detail that hardly detracts from the overall very positive impression. In conclusion: A great all-you-can-eat restaurant with delicious food, fair prices, and a pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely come back!

Based on the information on Google, I was looking forward to vegetarian and vegan options. Unfortunately, the freshly prepared food is cooked on the same grill as fish and meat, which means it can no longer be considered vegetarian or vegan. When I asked, separate preparation wasn't possible. I also couldn't find any alternative options or clear labeling. I have no problem with a restaurant not offering vegan dishes. I simply wish the Google labeling would be updated so that guests with specific dietary requirements don't arrive with false expectations. The service was quite hectic and only moderately friendly – ​​presumably due to the restaurant being very busy. However, this could simply have been due to the situation or my personal impression. Overall, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Based on the information on Google, I assumed there would be vegan and vegetarian options. However, in reality, nothing on the premises was truly vegan or vegetarian: • There was no vegetarian sushi, • The few "options," such as spring rolls, were cooked in the same oil as the fish, • And all the hot dishes were served on the same grill as the meat and fish. Therefore, the menu was effectively neither vegetarian nor vegan. Despite asking, the empty grill plate was not used separately. There were no alternatives or clearly marked vegan/vegetarian dishes. Overall, the visit was disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant for vegetarians or vegans. For me personally: unfortunately, never again.

We were absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious, fresh, and prepared with love. The buffet was varied, and everything tasted simply perfect. The quality and taste of the dishes were truly of the highest standard. The staff was also super friendly, attentive, and welcoming – we immediately felt at home. We had a birthday party there, and the team even surprised us with a small gift – such a thoughtful gesture is rare! The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, everything very clean and beautifully decorated. A good restaurant. It used to be a five-star for the food, but unfortunately, the first one has changed a bit, but it's still four stars. The service is extremely friendly and the ambiance is very nice. There's a wide selection of food and it's very child-friendly. The chocolate fountain is great for small children. There's cake, strawberries, watermelons, bananas, and marshmallows that you can dip into the chocolate. Absolutely delicious. I recommend this place to everyone.

A very good experience. I invited my parents there for their wedding anniversary. I asked in advance if we could bring a dog, and it was welcome. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was very good. My only minor criticism was that the chairs could use some updating. But then you start looking for something to complain about.

I don't like this restaurant because they don't serve shrimp or seafood. Three shrimp in a salad. It's a greedy restaurant. I pay 18 euros at Würsel and eat a wide selection.

We were there on Saturday, September 20th. Their raw seafood dishes are delicious, and you can choose what's on the communal table. The shrimp, scallops, and so on are fantastic. The desserts and fruit are delicious. Everything! The only downside is the furniture is a bit dated. But the chefs really make up for it with the quality of their dishes! We highly recommend them! (We celebrated a birthday there, and everyone was happy.)

Recently I had visited this place with my office friends, and the place is really well maintained quite specious. I am pure vegetarian person, and honestly this resturent has amazed me with its yummy food, they have plenty of option for buffet lunch menu. Staff is so kind and humble. We ate here on Monday evening, and today, Thursday evening, we're still bedridden with severe stomach cramps and extreme diarrhea. It's definitely food poisoning (salmonella or E. coli), and I've informed the health department. There are already a few reviews here mentioning food poisoning... Three of us, including a child, visited and ate various dishes from the buffet and the Mongolian BBQ. Since we were the very first guests at the Mongolian BBQ, I suspect there were hygiene issues. But ultimately, I don't know which foods were contaminated.

The food was old, dry, and seemed like it had been prepared or reheated for a long time. The quality has declined significantly, which is a real shame. We hope this was just a slip-up, but we won't be coming back like this for a while.

We love eating here. Everything is so neat! Beautiful tables with fresh flowers. The staff is quiet and friendly. We had the lunch menu...so many delicious and fresh dishes with chicken, beef, fish, and vegetables...and not to forget a delicious dessert of fruit, cake, or ice cream afterward. The staff is very friendly. The tables are very invitingly decorated. I participated in the buffet. The fresh buffet is very good; everything is very tasty and fresh. The cold buffet is very good and varied. The desserts are also very tasty, with tiramisu, vanilla pudding, lychee, pineapple, etc. The ice cream bar has a wide variety of delicious ice cream flavors to choose from. The only drawback is the price: at €15.90, it's too expensive; €12.99 would be more appropriate. I also find the mandatory drink requirement at the buffet, with a 0.30L glass of Coke costing €3.20, excessive; €2.70 would be perfectly adequate. Therefore, I'm only giving it 3 stars.

Fu Hao offers an amazing Sino-Mongolian and Pan-Asian buffet with an impressive variety of dishes to choose from. Our favourites were definitely the seafood selection and chicken dishes, flavourful and well-prepared. The dessert spread looked great too, though we were too full to fully enjoy it. I personally loved the chocolate fountain! The staff were friendly and attentive, always smiling and quick to clear tables. The ambience is warm and inviting, perfect for a dinner date, family outing, or business gathering.

As with any buffet, there is a risk of having too much on your plate because it simply tastes too good. The selection at the buffet was very good. Classic dishes and also very special dishes. The only atypical thing was a barbecue, which unfortunately didn't turn out that well. Live Grill was again an experience, which made the visit special. We can only recommend it because it's good value for money.

The buffet at lunch today was wonderful. Everything is very tasty. We washed it down with various fruity Schorle. Not sweet, like juices or lemonades and there are a variety of flavors. In terms of atmosphere: it was really stuffy at lunchtime. I wanted to run out into the fresh air as soon as possible. Service: my son had a bottle of water with him, so when he sat down at the table, instead of a greeting, he immediately received a stern, brief reprimand to remove the table.

Unfortunately I have to say that I was very disappointed. I had the spring rolls [they were ok, unfortunately not enough filling], fried noodles with chicken and the crispy duck with rice, curry sauce and vegetables. The quantity was great but unfortunately both dishes were mediocre. Both dishes tasted way too strongly of lemongrass. The aroma was so intense and dominant that I couldn't continue eating halfway through. The vegetables [onions, peppers, mushrooms, carrot - very poor choice of vegetables!] were cut way too coarsely. I had half an onion in the sauce, see picture on the right. We won't be coming back for a while. It's a shame... for just under €45 I expected more. But: the service was great and I wish the restaurant only the best. I'll try again in six months :-)

A welcoming establishment. The atmosphere is Asian cuisine, the interior is not poor. The menu is varied. The fee for a place is fixed, an aperitif or drinks are obligatory. A very suitable place for banquets!

Normally 5 stars for the food. Last time, however, the preparation on the Mongolian grill was quite slow. Otherwise as you know it. Just mass. Nevertheless, it tastes good because you can put everything together yourself.

The good reviews are definitely bought. I don't think I've ever eaten so badly. The floor was as slippery as anything and was covered with some kind of film, the air was so bad and stuffy that you could hardly breathe. Food for 26.50 per person + drinks come on top - far too expensive for the quality! Many of the dishes at the buffet are already half dried or it takes forever for them to be refilled. Sushi is inferior, prawns are also much too small at the deli counter (generally not fried well). Ice cream very chemical and with ice crystals. Uncomfortable atmosphere, very bad light. We paid around €180 for 5 people, but we only filled one plate and didn't empty it. It just didn't taste good. We were now with the same group of people at a good Italian restaurant and for comparison we only paid €150. Unfortunately I can't recommend it, only the waiter was friendly enough to say something positive.

Too good to go scam. Went there specifically to get a small box for €10 (5 per person). When we asked if we could get something vegetarian, we were turned down. I would pay significantly less for a small pack half filled with rice on too good to go!

Very nice staff. The atmosphere is pleasant, the music is soothing. I liked the food, there is enough choice. The barbeque is good, worth trying. I did not give the maximum for the food because there were some shrimps in the shell that were not very well done for my taste. The price for this quality is perfect. I will come back to this place again.

Our waiter advised us on the choice of dishes and responded to all our requests as if we were regular guests. Drinks were brought quickly and care was always taken to ensure that we felt comfortable. You simply feel welcome here and you can tell that the entire team is passionate about their work. Conclusion: The Hao China Restaurant is an absolute insider tip in Aachen. Whether for a romantic dinner or a meal with friends – every visit here will be a highlight. We'll definitely be back!

It was our first time at HAO and we'll be back. Price performance is good, food is very tasty and varied. Staff very friendly. It is always replenished and everything is fresh. And I thought the gesture was really nice when the waiter came with a sparkler and gave my husband a little something for his birthday. Very very nice. The Mongolian barbecue is particularly impressive, where you can put together the ingredients yourself, which are then freshly and perfectly prepared. Despite the large selection, the quality is first class and everything tastes fresh and authentic. Whether it's crispy spring rolls, juicy meat dishes or crunchy vegetables - it's always a pleasure! The atmosphere is modern and cozy, the staff friendly and attentive. For me, HAO is the perfect place to enjoy Asian cuisine in all its facets. Absolutely recommended for everyone who loves good food and variety!

Large Ayce buffet, which is always freshly refilled. The fresh department is also highly recommended. The employees who use Walki Talki to send repeat orders to the kitchen or communicate with colleagues about available spaces take some getting used to.

The food is quite tasty, nothing special but perfectly fine for the price. Unfortunately, the smell of cooking in the restaurant is very strong and you can also smell this smell in your clothes afterwards.
