I was there recently and was served by a small employee with glasses and brown hair – super friendly and attentive! I felt truly welcome. My burger arrived quickly and was exactly as ordered. To be honest, I remembered the burger being larger. I ordered the churros for dessert, which tasted good but could have been bigger. Overall, a very pleasant experience; I'll be back!

The concept is a bit dated, but the burgers are always delicious. They now have bowls, too. The noise level was very loud. The waitress was friendly and quick (dark-haired, short, with glasses); she even stopped by to check everything was okay. You'll gladly come back if you're greeted with a smile.

I live nearby and found out about this place about 2 months ago. I’ve only had 1 negative experience here which was 1 of the female waitresses. I’ve started coming here for dinner and bringing friends and my foreigner friends. The food is amazing. My husband is a big fan of their double smash burger, the assortment of loaded fries (salty but satisfyingly garlicky). I personally enjoy their fruity alcohol drinks. Peach or mango flavors are my favorites so far. Their iced-tea mango-ginger and peach-lime are especially refreshing. They have menu sets where you select a burger and then add the combo price to it to include a standard drink and appetizer which is nice. Highly recommend for the food. Below is an experience that I am sharing that put my review of this place 1 star lower and this was due to the waitress: Today I brought a friend who was visiting and my husband and I had been raving about Hans I’m Glück and wanted to bring her here before she returned to her home country. The waitress (petite blonde with a short ponytail) started off very nice and friendly but after a group of 4 men sat down next to us, she seemed very agitated. She made a comment to one about this being a restaurant and he could not sit since he brought McDonald’s which is understandable, however the other 3 men ordered meals here. Didn’t have anything to do with us, so we didn’t think too much of it but while my husband was paying for our meal, he had €1 change and said she could keep it while I was digging through my wallet for some more change. Her attitude towards us seemed to turned sour all of a sudden and she told my husband that only €1 Euro was an insult and handed it back to him, needless to say I closed my wallet right up after hearing that. My husband asked for the receipt but the waitress stormed off. My husband spoke to the manager which said he would take note of it. I truly hope he did as I don’t quite understand where this waitress attitude comes from, as a tip is usually for extra service, which the waitress did not perform any outstanding friendly service. She did as expected which was take our order. She wasn’t even the one that brought us our food. In America, we tip our waiting staff because they give us more attention and cater to us and literally become personable with their customers, I’d say it’s a skill set (also their employers pay them peanuts, literally $2-3 an hour & normally take a portion of their tips for themselves. 10+ years experience working as a waitress here). So we tip them a percentage of our meal. However, I’ve noticed this tip expectation seems to have moved to Germany and that a large tip is simply expected in most places. This has not made Hans I’m Glück lose our service, but I probably won’t be thrilled to have this waitress again. The manager seemed really nice and I feel bad if this waitress is giving him a hard time. The food and atmosphere is great otherwise, but I truly hope you will speak to your staff about this as it did put Hans Im Glück off of our regular eatery places for the time being. I hope that after returning here a few more times, I can confidently leave 5 stars for this place.

I was here in 2023. The hamburger was good, but I drank hot tea next to the hamburger. She said they didn't have iced tea. Why? What restaurant would make these mistakes? The waitress was also very rude. She was chewing gum and was very loud. She also has long fingernails, which is why she made so much noise when she wrote her emails. But the atmosphere was good, and it was in the center of Marienplatz.

Anyone looking for a really good burger in Munich should definitely pay this place a visit. The original concept catches your eye as soon as you enter: stylish, creatively decorated, with great attention to detail – this is definitely a feast for the eyes. The burger selection is impressive: from classic versions to unusual creations with regional or international influences – there's something for everyone here. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, the meat is grilled to perfection, the buns are fresh and fluffy, and the vegetarian/vegan options are also full of flavor. The value for money is particularly noteworthy. By Munich standards, you really get a lot of flavor here for a very fair price – no comparison to some overpriced trendy restaurants.

Me and a friend went yesterday for dinner. The food was great but the waitress ruined the whole experience in the end. She was aggressively asking for service tip. When we didn't, she said "In Germany if you like the service than you have to tip" as if it was compulsory. She was very rude and disrespectful. I heard in US culture its like this but not atleast in Germany. Correct me if i am wrong?

The staff are super nice and the place has a great vibe, but the burgers are more appealing to look at than they are to eat.

The service is terrible. The waitress with glasses will keep you waiting for a long time and will be rude if you don't tip. If we don't want the tipping culture to be as crazy as in the United States, everyone should cancel this. The price of eating out in Munich is more expensive than in Paris, and that's just for food like burgers

Very friendly staff despite the restaurant being full We were a bit overwhelmed with putting together the lunch menu. Our waiter was extremely helpful and helped with any extra requests.

Unfortunately, I expected a lot more from the food - it was nothing special. The service was disappointing: some of the dishes we ordered weren't delivered at all, and when we asked, no one could tell us when the rest would arrive. When I paid, my card payment was canceled by the waiter because I didn't enter a tip on the device - even though I actually wanted to give a cash tip. Overall the service was very disorganized. It would certainly make sense if the team management had a clarifying discussion with the staff.

Disappointment across the board. We were actually looking forward to a nice visit - but unfortunately that was it. The food came lukewarm to cold, the fries looked like they had just left the fridge. The taste of the whole thing was also pretty pale. Particularly strange: While our food was already on the table, the drinks still weren't there. Why? Good question. The shift manager apparently had other things to do - namely standing at the bar and chatting animatedly while the orders were ignored. Conclusion: The evening left more questions than joy. We would have liked to come more often, but it's no fun. It's a shame actually.

Very tasty potatoes, very tasty sauce in a smash burger

They had a menu where you can choose your burger fries drink and a coffee. Deciding on it was really fun. All of the food was absolutely delicious and i would recommend getting the lemon peach ice tea it was so refreshing.

Horrible service. Extremely slow waitresses, waited 20 minutes to get my order then another 20 to get the bill after asked, and the lady had the audicy to ask for a tip! The food was good and that's why I'm not giving 1 star as I had a previous experience with this chain of restaurants in nuremberg and it was amazing.

I was there quite spontaneously; I used to go to Hans im Glück more often. The citizen and sweet potato fries were good. Not special, but good. I was shocked by the price. I also had a small non-alcoholic cocktail. I paid 26 euros. So the burger and fries alone cost 20 euros? I don't do that anymore... and I didn't even have the most expensive burger. I find the prices outrageous. Service was super nice

At first I thought they only had vegetarian options, but later I found out they also had beef, bacon and other burgers. I think his burgers are delicious. The decoration inside is very special, and the service staff are also very friendly and eager to help me order food.

Unfortunatelly bad experience, we were siting outside for half hour, there were 2 young servis girls, who ignored us and other guests also. Nice place and restaurant, but servis is happy to not welcome guests.

I ordered two vegan burgers late last night. They tasted okay, but unfortunately, I got food poisoning afterward. Very disappointing.

We arrived around 18:00 on Sunday. Had a warm welcome, great tasty burgers and nice beer. The environment is also very authentic. We were pleased with everything. The waiter with Los Angeles written on his t-shirt was a real angel😇 Thank you.

I've been here twice, and the service was terrible both times. They forgot my food/drink both times, and after repeated requests, they ended up bringing it back. The first time, I ate my burger before my drink, and the second time, I started eating after everyone else had finished. Afterward, the waiter got impatient with my payment, which was embarrassing. Not at all recommended.

I really enjoy eating there, love the selection of vegan burgers, even if they're not exactly cheap. On top of that, the service is unfortunately only partially able to fulfill (extra) requests and then just does whatever it takes without asking, and you only realize at the end of the bill that you have to pay more. For example, we simply wanted a different mayo on our burger, and instead of exchanging it, they brought the sauce on top, and we were charged €2 per person/burger. It would have been great to just ask if the extra charge was okay. I would have skipped the exchange.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. I ordered a beer with a burger and received a radler instead. I politely asked to have it changed, to then find out that I was also charged 5.5€ for that radler on top (which I asked to change immediately without drinking). Even after asking for the correction of the mistake, they would not return the money. Avoid going here.

Were lucky with Hans today. Unfortunately a bit disappointed. The vegetarian Farbenspiel burger had no seasoning and simply tasted bland. Sweet potato fries were ok. The brownie for dessert was really bad for us personally. Very chewy consistency. The thirst quenchers were delicious. The Kraftprotz burger was also good.

Last night we had the most horrible service experience ever in this restaurant. Burgers we ordered were mixed up between plates and my friend got a burger which included avocado. He is allergic to avocado and immediately when he took the first bite he realized that it was a wrong burger. He told this to waitress to get a new burger but the waitress was hesitant to do this. Her explanation was that we should have listened more carefully when the food was brought to the table. The restaurant was quite noisy at the moment and we had no reason to suspect a mistake since my friend was only one ordering sweat potatoe fries which were on his plate. We asked to talk to the manager. At this point the situation became even more ridiculous as the manager accused us of changing the burgers ourselves. We told him that we are not going to pay for the food. After that he very reluctantly took the two burgers that were mixed up and we got new ones.

Good chicken burger but normal cocktail juice, halal burger according to them but i preferred to order chicken, good service and friendly staff, nice atmosphere, very high prices. I don’t recommend because of the high prices.

Bad service, bread too old and falling apart.

This was my second time in this branch - it's something different. On my first visit years ago, the food was OK - not good. I didn't understand the hype back then. I was there with my girls on Saturday and once again it was disappointing. The burger (classic) was very dry and the patty tasted old and rancid. After we had finished eating, we were literally pressured to order something again. After we said we would like to wait and finish our first drink, we just said we shouldn't take too long. After 20 minutes the waiter came back… we were forced to order dessert and the second round of drinks. We would have been better off getting the desserts somewhere else. The chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and cream, which was supposed to be warm, was like old shoe sole - inedible. Same game as before, as soon as we had finished eating the waiter was back and we either ordered again or left (our drinks weren't even empty yet). When we were criticized that the dessert really wasn't good and that it was unfriendly to harass guests like that, we got a dirty look. When I came from the toilet, the girls were getting dressed. When I asked why we were leaving, the boss himself said that we had already been sitting too long and didn't order enough, there were still a lot of people waiting - very charming! In the end, 2 couples were waiting at the entrance... This kind of treatment is really shameful and it wasn't a comfortable evening there! If they had let us, we would have spent the entire evening there and repeatedly ordered drinks and possibly food. If you don't want to, you already have it. Definitely not recommended!

'Hans im Glück' - used to be our place to eat burgers, but unfortunately a bit disappointing on our last visit: the service was rather slow, the mixed drinks - we had cocktails with and without alcohol - were rather bland and thin and the burgers were still okay, but somehow very dry and boring. We covered everything with a lot of sauces and ketchup, and then it was fine, even if the price was too high. Request to the restaurant: do a little better to ensure cleanliness: some surfaces were sticky and the lamps hung very low above the tables were full of splatters of sauce, hope it was sauce, looked really unappetizing. We were there with visitors in Munich and were a bit embarrassed about our selection of 'Hans im Glück' that evening, especially because of the lack of cleanliness.

Very well attended Hans im Glück branch in the valley, which is not one of the worst in Munich, but just delivers the same quality of burgers as the chain elsewhere. And it's mediocre. There are so many very good burger joints in the city that you don't have to go here. Recommendations instead: CA-BA-LU, King Loui, Little Flo.

Good sandwiches at a reasonable price.

They have burger and salad menus. I can say that the salad is as satisfying as the hamburger. The sauces they use are different and proportional, not the style we are used to. The taste lingered on my palate. They give an English menu. One of the employees, a man, was harsh. After the field, the female waitress became the assistant.

I ordered a Bueger with just cheese and meat. First a bueger with salad came. He apologized and then said something different again. I didn't get any compensation, which I think is a shame

I ate here for the first time. It was very crowded that day and it's understandable that you have to wait a little longer for the food, but our food arrived slightly warm, limp and with the wrong meat. I'm not one to directly complain or give a bad review about something like this, but certain staff there were really not nice. When paying there were options with percentages of how much tip you would like to give. I didn't want to give a 10% tip that evening and pressed the appropriate button. That look I got and an annoyed “Pff don’t you want to tip” shocked me! I understand the forces that work hard on a day like this, but the decision was still in my hands whether I wanted to pay more or not, and then the percentage was still added to me.

Unfortunately, my visit to Hans in Glück Munich was a big disappointment. The food was served to us far too cold, which significantly diminished our enjoyment. Even worse was the unfriendly service - we were largely ignored and had to wait forever until someone even took our order. Unfortunately, the drink was also a failure: it was so oversweet that it was barely drinkable. Overall, I had the impression that no attention was paid to the quality of the food or the service. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Special atmosphere, very beautiful, well-kept and tasteful space!! The tasty burgers and the salad with high protein that we tried were very filling and tasty, it could be a main course because its ingredients matched well!!! The place is very nice and from the reviews we expected the food to be good too. We waited a really long time at the entrance to be able to sit down and then, after sitting down and ordering, the drinks were never brought to us even though they were credited to the bill. High prices and mediocre products. Furthermore, there were undeclared ingredients in the sandwiches. We asked about it but they behaved rudely.

Price-performance isn't really right. Condition we had rather unmotivated and bored. Burgers loveless and rather sparsely topped. There are definitely better Hans im Glück restaurants. Overall, it was tasty, the drinking was good and the service was okay, but I can't really recommend a visit.

I've been there many times and the food is always so good. There are also plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians. The service is also very good. You can get a seat quickly even if you don't have a reservation.

Stumbled upon this location was a great choice the food was really good and the staff was really welcoming and attentive to our table! Didn’t have to wait long for the food, we was really hungry and the food was satisfying! The atmosphere was cool! And the decor of the restaurant was really nice! Evening was enjoyed!

Unfortunately an absolute flop. The burger was only lukewarm, the brioche bun had been in the oven for way too long, the bacon was missing and the meat was extremely dry and completely cooked through. The sweet potato fries were good. The toilets were just as disappointing as the burger. Unfortunately, the penetrating smell of urine and a few small fruit flies do not indicate hygiene. In addition, we announced right at the beginning that we would like to redeem the NeoTaste voucher. When we paid, we discovered that there was only a quota of 5 vouchers per day and that they had already been used up. The info would have been good at the beginning. As compensation we were then given a waiver of at least one drink. All in all, unfortunately not recommended, especially considering the comparatively high prices. You can eat much better with the money.

The waitress was unhappy with her tip and made sarcastic comments about it. As she was leaving the restaurant, she intentionally bumped into my sister with her shoulder. Such behavior is completely unacceptable - rude and disrespectful.

Like every two weeks, my friend and I went to Hans im Glück again today to treat ourselves to a little break with good food. There is absolutely nothing to complain about the quality of the food - as always, everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. However, the service this time bitterly disappointed us and ruined the entire evening. Before we even got around to placing our order, the employee Lucila pointed out to us in an extremely rude manner that we *had* to tip. They actually insisted on a full 10% - a demand that left us completely speechless. (And we always tip) This pushy manner completely ruined the mood at the table and resulted in us spending the entire evening feeling irritable and uncomfortable. Such behavior is completely unacceptable in a restaurant known for its high standards. We sincerely hope that such experiences remain the exception, otherwise we will have to look for an alternative.

I called at 10:40 p.m. to ask what time the kitchen was open until. A gentleman answered the phone until 11 p.m. Then I asked if we (a group) would definitely get something to eat if we got there in 10 minutes. I was told, yes. We paid a taxi and were at the restaurant at 10:50 p.m. Unfortunately, the same person then informed me that a spontaneous decision had been made to close the kitchen. Unfortunately, that was very annoying because we relied on the promise. Otherwise we would have gone somewhere else and not spent money on a taxi.

Hans im Glück – A pleasure for all the senses! I had the pleasure of dining at Hans im Glück recently and I can say with full conviction: it was a real experience! As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are captivated by the inviting, modern atmosphere and the cozy interior decorated with birch trunks. It almost feels like a little getaway. The burgers are the highlight! The selection is diverse and offers something for every taste – whether meat lover, vegetarian or vegan. I chose the “Geissbock”, a burger with spicy goat cheese and cranberries. Simply delicious! The ingredients were fresh and the combination of flavors was perfectly balanced. The quality of the meat and the homemade sauces are particularly commendable. The side dishes also deserve recognition: the sweet potato fries are crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside, and there are also delicious dips. The range of drinks, especially the homemade lemonades, rounds off the experience. The service was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The employees always have a smile on their faces and make you feel completely comfortable. Conclusion: Hans im Glück is definitely more than just a burger restaurant. It is a place where you enjoy spending time and every meal becomes a special moment. If you're looking for delicious burgers in a great atmosphere, you shouldn't miss a visit. Best Hamburger I ever ate !!! I had a cheeseburger and added mushrooms and hash brown with a side of fries and rum and coke I was a bit upset that we had to wait a while as the guy who seated us placed us in a corner and then left so waitress never saw us but once we called her over and changed places amazing service....so go there enjoy the quality and tasty food but make sure they don't sit you in the corner..

The location of the restaurant is very excellent and the place is beautiful in the atmosphere. We ordered the meat burger once, it was delicious and the potatoes were normal, but the chicken burger was bad for me, it had an unpleasant taste, and the shame of the place is that the service is bad, no one is around you and they are late in ordering.

Wonderful ambience, like pretty much every Hans im Glück and very friendly service. There were five of us and we had special requests (some of us are vegetarian and a friend is pregnant) and it was all unproblematic. Our waiter took the time to please everyone when it came to the food. And although the shop was very busy, we received our drinks shortly after ordering and the food straight after. And it was really tasty and warm!

Worst Hans in luck I've visited. The orders either didn't come at all or came way too late (when we asked for the bill). The dessert was inedible. I also feel like my buddy from abroad paid way too much too. He had a citizen in the menu and a dessert and paid over €35. So a no go.
