HANS IM GLÜCK - MÜNCHEN Giesing in München

I ordered from there for the first time today via Uber Eats. The order arrived early and quickly, but it was shocking what they brought me: the sweet potatoes were very old and mushy, and the beef burger was cold and unfortunately not fresh either. The lettuce leaf was already black. Unfortunately, I had to throw both away (see photos). Now I feel sick too!

Last night, my group went to this restaurant. Unfortunately, about an hour after eating, I developed diarrhea, and other guests also complained of stomach problems. A few months ago, I had the same symptoms after eating at the same place, but at the time I thought it was a coincidence. After last night, however, I can rule that out. Apparently, hygiene standards in the kitchen are not being adequately observed. I will avoid this restaurant in the future and will not spend any more money there.

Great selection, food could be hotter

The food was average, the menu barely understandable, and the options became even more complicated because some items were unavailable. Too expensive and cumbersome for what was offered. The service was very friendly, but also overwhelmed by the strange menu.

"Disappointing" is putting it mildly. 70 euros for two burgers with fries and a kids' meal... Everything was frozen, the fries were cold, and a portion of fries with extra toppings cost 8 euros, and for that price, you get half a full bowl? It used to be different and better; it's a shame the quality has declined so much. The service was friendly, but they're rarely around. The atmosphere was okay, a bit dark.

The waitress was so kind to me and gave me extensive advice about my allergies. I have lactose intolerance. The bartender was very friendly, and I enjoyed the drinks (I had the 0.5l Mango Mint Thirst Quencher). Big compliments to the team. I'll be back.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. It's quiet there. Since it's a chain, the food is always somewhat similar. Of course, you have the advantage of knowing your preferences. If you don't like ground beef, for example, you can get the chicken burger, which gives you a whole steak!! The lettuce on the breadless burger was a bit brown on one side, but otherwise OK. The side dishes have become quite expensive, for example, coleslaw for €4.90.

I waited for half an hour without ordering anything. The waiters walked around me and didn't acknowledge or greet me. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience.

The food was truly delicious, and there was a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Our waiter, Lukas, served us very well throughout the evening and was extremely personable :) We'd love to come back!

We returned to Hans im Glück after a long time and discovered that its former charm and quality had unfortunately declined considerably. The place, which used to be bustling, was now only about a third full. After being assigned a seat, the service was a bit shaky, so we ordered via the in-house app, which worked well. The staff was friendly, though. The drinks came quickly. The cocktails were typically filled with what felt like 90% ice. The drink advertised as a thirst quencher was, unfortunately, only a very thin spritzer. The food followed shortly after: a bowl and a burger with fries. Unfortunately, the short walk from the kitchen to the table (about 3 meters) was too long: My burger was only lukewarm, and the chicken on the bowl was even cold. The absolute lowest point was the condition of the restrooms. Chaos and poor hygiene reigned supreme. Broken toilet seats, heavily soiled stalls, cobwebs on the brushes, and so much dust on the doors you could write messages in them. It seems as if only the bare minimum has been done since opening – that's unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. ​ The switch to app ordering and payment isn't bad per se, but the quality of the food (temperature) and the hygienic condition of the restrooms are disappointing. If the quality is similar to the local fast-food chain but significantly more expensive, I'd rather go there. The intrusive tipping option in the app (0%, 7%, 14%, etc.) is also unnecessary. ​All in all, a disappointing experience.

Our service was simply top-notch, top-notch, and perfect!! 😍 We haven't received such good and professional advice in sooooo long. You can immediately tell that Lisa H. enjoys her work and is very welcoming. She even gave our children something to color and puzzle with. 🖍️✨ Thank you for your patience, Lisa H.! From now on, this will be our favorite Hans. 😇

The lunch menu during lunch break is highly recommended! However, it can get very busy on weekdays, so reservations are recommended.

Basically everything was great, but the benches were the most uncomfortable I've seen in a long time. No backrest and absolutely hard. A bit of music in the background wouldn't have hurt either; it was completely silent, a bit odd for a Saturday night. Otherwise, the food, etc., was great.

We ate at Hans im Glück in Giesing and had a really nice evening. I tried the Triple Smash Burger with fries, and my girlfriend tried the Eitle Rockel with a fresh salad. Both were well prepared, the ingredients were fresh, and the portions were generous. We also had a thirst quencher and a Coke Zero – everything was perfect. It tasted really good, but I wouldn't call it an absolute "top-notch burger" like you might find at specialized burger joints. Nevertheless, the quality was solid, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly. All in all, a very good burger restaurant in Munich – hence our 4 stars. Recommended if you're looking for good burgers in a relaxed atmosphere.

The service was terrible. We always had to wait forever to get our drinks, order food, etc. Then our order was taken incorrectly and dismissed with a simple "That's okay, right?"... The food itself was good, but the portion sizes have shrunk considerably! We won't be going back to this Hans im Glück restaurant. There are restaurants in Munich that are doing just fine.

We wanted to give the place a second chance. But this time, too, it took a very, very long time for the drinks and food to arrive. There was no explanation or apology. Paying also took forever. You can't be in a hurry if you want to eat here... everything seems a bit chaotic.

The food was, as you'd expect from Hans im Glück, excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. I particularly appreciate the super friendly staff, who were accommodating to personal requests and, for example, checked to see if the juices were truly pure fruit juice (important for type 2 diabetics). I would definitely share the cookie dough for dessert next time, because it's super sweet and you can't eat much of it.

How great service can still be these days? You can experience it here. Every single employee was so nice to us! We were very surprised and felt even more at home. The food was great, of course, and the atmosphere was truly lovely. We'll be back.

Great food, a huge selection, even for vegetarians. Very attentive and super-friendly service. Dogs are also very welcome. Fresh water was immediately brought for our dog, without asking, in the company-issued bowl with the words "Happy Dog." We'd go back anytime!

Now very expensive, and not as good as it used to be. We ordered a burger without onions. On the half that was eaten at the end, there were onion rings in the shape of a "lump." If this had been noticed right at the beginning, I would definitely have returned the burger, but I didn't want to wait for it to be prepared again. Instead of apologizing and possibly offering compensation (a price reduction or free coffee, just a gesture), this fact was simply dismissed. It's a shame, especially since there was practically nothing going on that could have justified the mistake or the lack of customer service. But because of such "little things," this lucky guy won't be seeing me again for a long time.

Empty dishes weren't brought back for a long time, making the table even more crowded. You have to be patient for a drink refill—servers don't show up for a long time. Eventually, we lost the desire to wait and wanted to go somewhere else. After we couldn't pay for a while because the server wasn't there, we discovered that you can pay digitally without a tip using a QR code on the table. A tedious experience…

Went there for lunch today, it was super cozy! The burger and salad were fresh and delicious. The black-haired waitress was super friendly, explained the initially rather extensive menu to us, and was super helpful. Excellent service – we'll definitely be back!

I always enjoy going to Hans im Glück Giesing. The evening meal offer (burger, side dish, and cocktail of your choice) is simply fantastic. There's a large selection of burgers and a variety of rolls. There's plenty of space, so you can find a seat even without a reservation. In the summer, you can also sit outside. The price-performance ratio is good, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

New menu with delicious food and drinks. We had a lovely evening. The caramelized onions, which cost extra, are meager. The extra charge isn't worth it because you can't taste them anymore. Unfortunately, they don't add any value to the burger.

The perfect burger place in Munich!

We once had the burger “Full-bodied” and “Impostor”. Personally, I just missed cheese with the full-bodied one. You could order it separately, otherwise it was quite good. My companion had the impostor and found it too small for the price (€16.90), but tasted very good. The cheddar cream in particular went very well with it. I think it's good that you can see the nutritional values ​​of all dishes online.

We had dinner at HANS IM GLÜCK – MÜNCHEN Giesing to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday with six people. The food was tasty, and the service was impressively fast, friendly, and attentive. Only downside: the seating wasn’t very comfortable for a longer stay. Still, a great evening overall and definitely worth a visit!

Hans im Glück offers top burgers in a stylish atmosphere. Fresh ingredients, creative recipes and super friendly service. The sweet potato fries and truffle sauce are a particular highlight. Always happy!

Waiting times far too long. We waited 1.5 hours for our burgers. Of course, lunchtime is busy, but then you should hire more than one person in the kitchen so that more than 1 burger can be prepared at the same time

The ambience is cool, the burgers are sometimes good and sometimes bad. When we were there in the evening one of the waiters cursed loudly and made a scene, which was entertaining but also stressful. I find value for money borderline. As I said, it's a gamble whether you get good food or worse food. The service staff who served us were all very, very friendly.

A big disappointment! The four of us were at "Hans im Glück" on a Friday evening and were allowed to practice waiting all evening. Although the restaurant was only moderately busy, the service staff appeared to be severely understaffed and haphazard. There were times when no waitress saw or passed our table for over 30 minutes. Our drinks came after about 15 minutes, apparently quickly. We waited 40 to 60 minutes for the food. In this case, the "until" means that we couldn't eat at the same time because some of our main courses came after 40 minutes and some after 60 minutes. Afterwards we ordered desserts, which were apparently completely forgotten. Only after we spoke to the waiters did it take another seven minutes for the desserts to arrive. Unfortunately it was incomplete, which is why we had to go see the waiters ourselves again because the waiters didn't think it was necessary to come to us. I have never experienced such chaos and poor, coordinated service anywhere. Now one would expect the staff to apologize for all the things described. Nothing. Nothing at all. Otherwise the food was very good. But for us it was the last visit.

It's nice to sit outside in the summer and eat delicious food. Elderberry spritzer with mint, a Hippe Bowl with goat cheese and fried egg is fantastic. Burgers and fries, on the other hand, are not so good.

I was recently at “Hans im Glück” and have to say that the service and atmosphere were really pleasant. The staff was friendly and I liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately, I have to have a negative experience with the food. About 30 minutes after eating I had severe stomach upset and diarrhea. The next morning I woke up with food poisoning, which is definitely not acceptable. It seems like there isn't enough attention paid to personal hygiene or the quality of the ingredients. This definitely shouldn't happen in a restaurant that wants to be known for good food. Unfortunately, this experience overshadowed my visit.

This is something different! Great restaurant with an extraordinary look with a very cool separation or privacy screen from the people sitting next to you. And the food! Very very very tasty! A great selection and very excellent taste. The prices are also absolutely fair considering the performance. We'd love to come back!

It just didn't work, starting with the waiting time, which was impossible, and two tables next to us who came after us got their food before us. Food was only slightly warm, almost cold. And what was worst was that we came hungry and left hungry and that at a price of just under €30 per person. Once and never again!!

The very last! Order from Hans im Glück. Delivery came via Uber. Driver cannot find address and is bombarded with countless, incomprehensible text messages. Parallel automated calls from Uber and threats of cancellation. Restaurant shows no interest and offers cancellation. Driver finds address and insults and threatens me massively. Of course the food was cold, the burger patty wasn't cooked properly. Never again!

I recently ate at Hans im Glück and was looking forward to a fresh salad. Unfortunately my experience wasn't particularly good. I specifically ordered my salad without beetroot because I don't like them - but my plate was still full of them. When I politely asked, I was only told that the staff understood beetroot, but I was not offered a solution. The service wasn't exactly attentive either. It took a long time before we could even order, and the staff generally seemed rather unmotivated. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't a particularly pleasant visit. I expected more.
