I had a very frustrating experience at your restaurant. I waited for 20 minutes before anyone took my order. Meanwhile, during next half an hour, everyone who arrived after me received their meals and left. Next to me was a family whose order was also messed up, and they had to complain to the staff. The waitress was dark-haired. When I finally placed my order, I waited again, only to receive the wrong meal. If it had been Rindfleisch (beef), I might have eaten it, but I do not eat chicken or whatever that was. I clearly indicated "Rindfleisch, Feuriger, sourdough" by pointing with my finger, yet I received something completely different. I also waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to ask if I would finally get my burger. Unfortunately, I never received it and had to pay and leave because I needed to return to the office. Bad things happen, and I wouldn't even write this if she didn't avoid giving me the receipt after I asked for it while I was obviously in a hurry. She said okay and then went to other tables to serve them or do whatever instead of giving me the receipt. Too bad, your Burgers are my favourite. :)

Cozy, attractive ambiance, young clientele, and exceptionally friendly service. A large, delicious selection of burgers, salads, and side dishes. A variety of sauces are also available at the table. The restaurant is very busy on weekend evenings, so reservations are recommended. We tried the Schlemmernlock 2 for 1 offer. We were very satisfied with the taste of our selection. We would be happy to come back.

Famous food, really great service and great cocktails

Horrid service. I'll never go back. The place was half empty, and we ordered two regular burgers with fries and a soda. We waited a whole hour, and in that time, they couldn't even make two regular burgers with fries?! We were told three times that our order would be ready in 5 minutes, then 2 minutes, then 1 minute. In the end, we didn't eat anything and went to McDonald's across the street. A disgusting place. I will never go back and recommend everyone go elsewhere.

Visit on October 10, 2025: Everything was perfect, top-notch service, a water bowl for the dog, the new waitress was being trained on the spot and more than earned her tip. I found the praise from the regular staff, which reassured her colleague, very motivating. The service was excellent, no hidden costs, and special requests were handled perfectly. I'm happy to spend more for "just a burger"... We'll be back, keep it up!

Delicious burgers and sweet potatoes 🍟

The staff was overwhelmed. Unfortunately, everything took a while. The food and location were delicious.

I ordered a raw salad to take away with an extra walnut patty. When I got home, I noticed that unfortunately, there were no tomatoes, carrots, seeds, let alone the walnut patty. Just green salad. I wouldn't have paid €15 for that. I was told by phone that I would get my money back. Nothing has happened to this day. Mistakes can happen, but if you promise to refund the money, you could at least keep your word.

Exceptional ambiance and delicious food. The burgers are the right size and well-filled. There's a wide variety of burgers to choose from. The salad is also delicious, especially the goat cheese, which is very creamy. Recommendation

Very nice food and drinks, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices. The waitress was so sweet and switched to English when she realized I can't speak a lot of German. Nice atmosphere as well! Me and my partner loved it so much, we will go back.

We went during the week, and it was quite busy. The waitresses were very nice, but very busy and stressed. The food came very quickly, but we had to wait longer for the drinks. The fries were very tasty, fresh, and didn't seem like run-of-the-mill fries. 👍 The meat on the burger was also good. We'll definitely be back.

The waitress was on her cell phone the whole time and didn't seem particularly enthusiastic. You didn't feel welcome.

The decor is cozy, in the classic Hans im Glück style. The food is okay, but the value for money could be improved. The lunch menu, for example, is only slightly cheaper than the regular menu; you'll pay between €18 and €22 for a burger with a side and a drink, and there's a corresponding surcharge for sweet potatoes. Overall, a decent meal, but nothing special.

The food was good. Some of the ingredients were delivered to the table incorrectly (burger ingredients). The side dish came separately from the burger and not together. Unfortunately, the drink was also delivered incorrectly. The waiter's attention was lacking at the beginning of the visit, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Things improved afterward. Unfortunately, the table was dirty.

Sorry, but I won't be going there for a burger again. The price/performance ratio is extremely poor. The meat is dry, the buns are dry, the salad isn't the freshest, and the cocktails could have been improved. Everything was poorly presented (see pictures). The service could also use a bit more motivation. The seats are rather uncomfortable. There were three of us, and we all had a similar opinion. If you want a proper burger, then go to Burgerheart Erlangen (it was simply amazing). I'd be happy to try both; I think you'll come to a similar conclusion.

I've ordered and eaten at this restaurant several times. The ambiance and service are excellent! The burgers, in particular, are among the best in Erlangen, in my opinion – highly recommended!

Nice ambiance, as you'd expect from Hans im Glück. The food was exactly what you'd expect, except the coleslaw was very bland; more seasoning and more sauce would have been appropriate. The fries were a bit too bland, which was surprising for a lunch order. Things like that happen in the evening, but it really wasn't that busy. Basti, our waiter, was incredibly attentive. We were looked after and felt very comfortable. The man knows how to anticipate his guests. (And I come from the restaurant industry myself.) Someone could definitely learn a thing or two from him. I hope he's a service manager or something similar, because he was a prime example of an excellent waiter.

We spontaneously stopped in at 3 p.m. for a burger. One vegetarian and one regular = GREAT. Top-notch taste and beautifully presented. Plus, friendly, fast service. Highly recommend everything! Keep it up!

Two of us were here this weekend (with a reservation) and were really looking forward to it. We were seated at a high table at the bar, which was unfortunately very uncomfortable. You couldn't really rest your feet (they just dangled in the air) and there was no backrest. The (sometimes somewhat heated and aggressive) conversations between the bartenders weren't exactly what you'd imagine for a relaxing evening. The service, on the other hand, was very friendly! The food was okay overall. However, we had a Schlemmerblock voucher (2 for 1 main courses) and felt that our portions of fries were quite smaller than those of our neighbors – which, according to the guidelines, is exactly what shouldn't be the case. Of course, that could have just been an unfortunate coincidence, but in that case, the portions were still too small. Despite the voucher and only one drink per person, the bill was still quite expensive for what you got.

The Double Smash Burger is absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and reliable. The music is also 10/10 :)

First of all, we had a very good meal. The server was initially friendly and, seemingly courteously, asked when ordering whether the meat could have some pepper on it or whether it could be peppered before searing. We confirmed this. On the bill, this was listed as a special request, "pepper crust," and charged one euro each, which annoyed us greatly. There was no mention beforehand of a pepper crust or a special type of pepper, which would incur an additional charge. We also brought this up, namely that it would have been nice if it had been pointed out that the pepper would incur an additional charge. The server didn't offer an apology in this regard. So, from now on, the next time I'm asked at a restaurant whether I'd like my fries salted or my salad with dressing, I'll have to ask exactly what this means and what additional costs are involved. Very annoying, dubious, and misleading to consumers!

Delicious food at a reasonable price in an air-conditioned restaurant with friendly service.

We were there for an early dinner, a family of four. It wasn't our first time, but this time we brought two coupon books with us to save a bit given the rather high prices at this chain. The two books were dutifully placed on the table, and when we ordered, we pointed out that we were using the coupons, which was verbally confirmed by the initially very friendly waitress. So, all four of us ate well, each ordered a cocktail after dinner, and pointed out the two coupon books again, because there was also a coupon for cocktails at HiG. After sharing dessert together, it was time to go and pay, as a family member still had a train ride ahead of her. Then the waitress came over and raised her voice. My boss told me that I'm only allowed to accept one coupon per table per bill, and normally, I'm not allowed to accept the additional coupon for the cocktail within one order either. Naturally, you wonder, and the young lady did too, why she hadn't mentioned this when ordering? ``` She had the brilliant excuse of not having noticed that it was two of the books. As already mentioned, we had waved both books around several times. My wife was quite spontaneous and said: 'Okay, then we'll just not come here again.' At that, the initially very friendly waitress became not friendly at all and quickly took our money, rushing to her colleagues at the counter to gossip about us, which caused all the employees there to stare in our direction. I think I'll accept my wife's spontaneous suggestion unconditionally. Addendum: HiG's response was quite nice, but I had written the recommended description on Praise & Tadel practically at the same time as the review here, and to date, I haven't received any response from them. Which I can only describe as bitter.

We were there today, also with a coupon booklet that said the second burger was free, so we ordered a lunch menu. The food was delicious, but the realization came with the bill...the coupon booklet wasn't accepted at lunch, and each bill was 7.90. We asked and were told that was a cover charge...sorry, it was so misleadingly written and therefore so expensive that we certainly won't be coming again.

The food was really delicious, and the staff was friendly and accommodating – especially with our children, which we found very positive. However, we were disappointed that they didn't offer a gluten-free burger bun, even though that's exactly what the website advertises. We had specifically chosen the restaurant because of this option, as it's not always possible for people with gluten intolerance to be able to eat a "real" burger. Instead, like many other chains, they only offered a lettuce leaf as a substitute, which doesn't match what's promised on the website. We were told that the kitchen was too small to safely rule out gluten contamination and that they had therefore decided not to provide gluten-free buns (they are working on this) – but that's exactly what should be communicated transparently on the website. As a small compensation, they gave the children an ice cream on the house, which we considered a nice gesture.

It's an attractive restaurant, but the seating isn't particularly comfortable. The burger's multigrain bun was dry and tough, and only edible with a lot of sauce. The rest of the food and the fries were good. The Aperol Spritz was delicious. The black restrooms are, well, okay! It would be nice to be able to see if they're clean.

I was absolutely thrilled with my visit to "Hans im Glück"! The food was not only incredibly delicious, but also beautifully presented—after all, you eat with your eyes. The restaurant was very clean and well-maintained, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Usually always satisfied, but the last few times I've had a ton of gristle or bone fragments in the patty, which made my tooth hurt. I also found the meat watery, rubbery, and crunchy. It's a shame. I'll probably order vegetarian next time.

A very stylish restaurant in a really good location. We parked in the large parking lot and were a 5-minute walk from HIG. Very friendly staff and a cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, we had a seat by the door because it was very busy. It got a bit chilly there due to the draft. The food, however, was a real treat, and the cocktails were delicious. If you're really hungry, you should order a side with your burger. We'll definitely be back :) Please leave me a ❤️ :)

The burgers here are actually really good. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey. But if you use the Neotaste app, you can get a free burger with each order, which makes it totally worth it.

The seating is already very tight, and the prices seem to increase significantly with every visit. Today I chose the lunch menu, but the hot drink was removed, and with the Classic Burger, the price is now €18.80.

My girlfriend and I were served by Tim this evening and were absolutely thrilled with the excellent service! We felt completely at home, and his burger advice was top-notch!

My wife, my two sons, and I spontaneously drove 30 kilometers today to try this restaurant. First of all: I don't usually write reviews. Since I work in sales myself, I expect good service these days. The food was, as requested/expected, very good. The interior is very well maintained. A place where you feel at home. Moreover, it felt like it only took five minutes for the food to arrive at our table. Why I'm taking the time to write this review: We were served by Luca, a very friendly server. The way our requests (especially the children's special requests) were addressed was unparalleled. Understanding, with a genuine smile on their faces. We eat out often and have rarely experienced such warm and friendly service. It's quite possible that the rest of the staff is just as dedicated. We are certain that, based on today's experience, we will no longer visit our local burger restaurant, but will go to yours instead. Thank you very much! Keep it up!

We've been there twice for lunch with the children and each time the staff was very friendly and, above all, child-friendly! You don't get that everywhere and that's why it's 5 stars! Unfortunately the service was really not good. Although the store wasn't full and we had made a reservation, we weren't served at all for about 25 minutes. The food was okay, as in every Hans im Glück, but cutlery and sauces only came upon request. After eating we were ignored again and then had to ask 3 times after 25 minutes to be able to pay. Overall, you felt ignored and not really wanted. We actually wanted to order something more to drink, but decided to leave it alone.

Food was tasty, but very expensive. 2 burgers, without side dish and without the drinks, 30 €. The service was almost rude. The ambience is quite nice, I have to say. All in all, after leaving so much money for the second time, I don't feel so happy. Positive - delicious burgers - delicious drinks Negative - the conditions were inattentive & you had to wait a relatively long time until you were served or could pay - we were there with the Schlemmer Block & said this before. When we wanted to pay it was said that you can only redeem 1 voucher at a time. So we were stuck with our overpriced non-alcoholic cocktails (€8.90 per cocktail)… It was also not possible to split the bill and thus the coupons. Too bad! Update: Two of my colleagues were there independently at different times, and it was no problem at all to redeem the coupons together...
