Potencialmente el mejor pastel de la Selva Negra de la ciudad. Excelente equilibrio entre agridulce, no demasiado alcohol en las cerezas, crema súper fresca (una capa gruesa y densa) y una delicada base crujiente. El único defecto: demasiado delgado para mi gusto (me encanta crujiente! ). Buena crema de café, un poco más fría de lo esperado. Bonito ambiente antiguo - de moda (no en la zona renovada) y un servicio acogedor y eficiente. Los precios tienen sentido para mí (cuatro euros uno "Stück) .

Esta es la primera vez que siento la necesidad de dejar un comentario. Fui al café con mi marido y pedimos tres pasteles. Cuando nos preguntaron si queríamos tenerlo para ir o sentarnos pensamos que nos sentaríamos porque pensamos que sería rápido ya que literalmente señalamos los pasteles que pedimos. Nos equivocamos. Fuimos a sentarnos (sin nuestra bollería) y esperamos 30 minutos a que la camarera viniera a mirar nuestro ticket de nuestra comida pedida. Luego esperamos unos 5 minutos para que volviera con algunos de los pasteles más promedio que hemos tenido con agua a temperatura ambiente. Luego esperamos 15 minutos para pagar. Si vas a conseguir que la comida se vaya entonces tal vez no sea tan mala y tal vez sus postres sean geniales. Pero honestamente 50 minutos para tres pasteles que ya estaban horneados es una locura.

Endlich habe ich DAS Früchtebrot/ Schnitzbrot/Hutzelbrot gefunden, welches annähernd an das meiner Oma heran kommt 🙏🏻 Ich danke Ihnen vielmals dafür und wünsche eine wundervolle Weihnachtszeit 🎄

Tolles Café mit einer sehr guten Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte und einer ausgezeichneten Bedienung. Große Empfehlung!

In sei giorni passati a Friburgo, ci siamo stati tre volte, due merende e uno snack di metà mattina. La pasticceria ottima, specialmente la classica torta Foresta Nera. Anche il gelato è molto buono. Ci ha fatto piacere essere serviti da una signora italiana (veneta) molto simpatica, che ha reso le nostre visite a Schmidt ancora più gradevoli.

Seit vielen Jahren kaufe ich im Cafe Schmidt meine kleinen Sünden ein. Niemand in der Sadt macht besseres Plundergebäck oder auch der Butter- oder Streußelkuchen, die petit fours oder die Kongresschnitten sind einfach unerreicht. Traurig macht mich, daß im Windschatten der Inflation die Preise nachgerade explosionsartig angestiegen sind. Für eine einfache Zwetschgenschnitte auf Hefeteig muss man mittlerweile 5 € berappen, das nahezu Doppelte von dem, was sie noch vor 3 Jahren gekostet hat. Klar, die Löhne sind gestiegen, die Inflationsrate ist aber wieder niedrig und insofern erschließt sich mir diese exorbitante Preissteigerung nicht. Schade, das Schmidt ist mein Lieblingscafe, die Qualität der Backwaren ist super aber die aktuellen Preise sind für mich nicht mehr erschwinglich.

Das Essen war lecker, die Portionen für unseren Geschmack eher kleiner. Es gab die Möglichkeit eine Zartbitterschokolade mit Hafermilch zu bestellen. Die Bedinung war freundlich.

Der handwerklich hergestellte Christstollen ist zwar nicht billig, aber einfach qualitativ unerreichbar! Schon immer! Ich stamme aus Freiburg und habe die Stadt vor 50 Jahren verlassen. Muss beim jährlichen Weihnachtsbesuch immer einige mitnehmen.

Searched high and low for a piece of Black Forrest cake, this cafe did not disappoint and the coffee was great too, highly recommend a visit.

One of the highlights during our Black Forest tours is definitely to taste the authentic Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black forest cake). we tried a few and the one from this cafe is one of the best - cream is soft and light, also the portion of cherry wine is appropriate. Also the staff there is friendly, helpful and pleasant, speak good English is a plus. Worth to stop by the cafe and try their dessert.

Actually I give this cafe 3.5 out of 5 stars. It is an old-fashioned cafe of long standing. However, that doesn't make it great. The service is indifferent and if you're in the new area built beside the original cafe, you're very close to your neighbours - too close! The cakes are many and varied and very good quality, and the coffee fine. But you pay for this, of course. Too much. The cafe is generally frequented by older pensioners with money who block the tables endlessly, or young and affluent university students. In my opinion, one can find the equal of cake and coffee elsewhere and pay less.

An einem trüben, beinahe kalten Nachmittag verschlug es mich in dieses Cafè. Draußen hatte es geregnet und ich wollte einen leckeren Tee trinken und Kuchen essen. Deko und Erscheinungsbild: Von außen ein bisschen lieblos, im inneren aber wunderschön aufgebaut und angenehm entspannt dekoriert. Essen und Trinken: Sehr lecker und selbstgemachter Kuchen. Vielfältiges Sortiment, von Kuchen bis Eis oder Brot ist hier alles mit dabei. Getränke sind sehr lecker. Service: Nette Kellner*innen, sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Total gut. Wartezeiten: Sind angemessen und gehören halt dazu. Kann nichts schlechtes darüber Sagen. Fazit: Alles in allem ein netter Besuch. Ich komme gerne wieder, wenn ich in Freiburg mal einen Café trinken möchte.

Definitely the right place to try the famous black Forrest cake, the true specialty of this region! Even the raspberry cake is delicious, the espresso is true Italian as it should be. Worth a visit!

Mein Partner und ich waren hier zweimal frühstücken.Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und vielfältig.Geschmacklich ist es einwandfrei und sehr lecker. Die Bedienung ist wirklich nett und zuvorkommend. Auch auf vegetarische Wünsche wird Rücksicht genommen. Bei der Lage ist zu beachten, dass die Straßenbahn an dem Café vorbeifährt. Dies könnte etwas unangenehm sein, wenn man draußen sitzen möchte. Trotzdem ist Café sehr zu empfehlen!

Après avoir bien fait ressentir que vous gênez, on ai obligé quand même de vous faire assoir.et la on prend pas la peine de savoir ce que vous voulez. Résultat mes enfants voulaient une super glace et ils ont fini avec une pauvre boule de vanille certe très bonne. Et ma femme et moi 1 café sans rien alors qu'on voulais avec chocolat. Ma femme a du allée acheter dans leur boutique du chocolat pour pouvoir avoir 1 café accompagné d'un chocolat. Vraiment pas aimable avec la clientèle française.

Eigentlich dachten wir, dass ein Besuch in diesem traditionsreichen Café ein Muss sei. Also haben wir hier gefrühstückt anstatt im Hotel. Wir waren nicht begeistert. Die relativ hochpreisigen Rühreier mit Brötchen wurden ohne Butter serviert, 1,00 € extra je Minibutter, der Kaffee war lauwarm, der Service war unfreundlich. Beim zweiten Versuch am nächsten Tag wollten wir nachmittags Kaffee und Kuchen probieren. Die Kuchentheke ist optisch und quantitativ traumhaft. Der Ober war ncoh unfreundlicher als die Dame am Vortag. Der Obstkuchen war gut, der Kaffee ok. An den Preisen konnten wir keine an den Verbraucher weitergegebene Mehrwertsteuerreduzierung erkennen. Schade eigentlich um dieses Café.

We went to taste the typical cake, the Black forest one, since the place is known to be one of the best of Freiburg, and it is true!! The cake was amazing!! It was a pity that the staff was not very nice with us when asking for food and at the table.

Hamburg cappuccino has a distinct natural sweet taste, even without adding any sugar or sweetener. Since I drink mine without any sugar, the cappuccino here truly hits all the right notes. It was a perfect way to start the day. They sell all sorts of pastries and cakes too

I read that thie place served one of the best Black Forest Cakes in the Black Forest. I was dissapointed, there was hardly any cake as it was mostly whipped cream - that had no sugar or vanilla in it! Unfortunately the cream was necessary because the cake was very dry. The cherries themselves were the best part of the cake, but there weren't many in there anyway.

Gotta say that there are better black forest cake around and at lower price. Some staffs seemed to be friendly but some were a bit odd. Don't think it is a must stop but can visit if passing by.

I really liked going to this place. Before I left Germany, I wanted to try the black forest cherry pie and my friend knew this place had it. We went here for a small snack. I ordered the black forest cherry pie and we ordered some drinks too. The staff seemed to had forgotten about us, until we inquired again with the waitress and she retook our order apologizing for the inconvenience. It was okay since we had time, but if you are in a hurry that would not have been as practical. Then after a while we got our order and it was very very good! The staff was very friendly and apologetic and then after we wanted to order another drink they were quicker about it, I guess as to make up for the previous wait. Definitely recommend going here, they had so many good looking snacks!
