Hanoi October in Bochum

Heads up, everyone! This is supposed to be a "bowl" for over €15. It was 90% rice, the fish was okay, and the other ingredients you'd expect at that price were missing. Plus, it didn't come with the promised teriyaki sauce, but some other mixture.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and cozy. I really liked the service from the staff.

No words after 95 minutes without any information, the most disgusting noodles with Etde I have ever had... I don't want to advertise here, but I confused Hanoi with Hatoky - there is a world of difference between them - but now I have gained another experience - I can only advise everyone not to order from here!!! 🤮🤮

At first, we were skeptical, as the restaurant was relatively empty on a Saturday night. But we were surprised: The service was very friendly. The food was good. The music selection was outstanding and added to the ambiance. I would definitely recommend it.

I had a red curry with duck. The duck was crispy. The vegetables were crunchy. The curry was slightly spicy and wonderfully seasoned. The service was very friendly. The portion was almost too large. Very good value for money. I'd be happy to come back.

We order regularly (every 7-10 days) from Hanoi and ALWAYS over €100. Today, something was forgotten again. Instead of delivering it, we were accused of not checking properly, claiming that the store employees had checked three times. Never again. That was the last time. Zero customer focus! I'm truly at a loss for words.

Fried udon noodles with vegan duck or vegan chicken are highly recommended!

A cozy Asian restaurant in Bochum Mitte with very friendly service – the waitress was particularly polite and attentive, making you feel immediately at home. Individual requests are readily accommodated, which is especially helpful with the vegan selection. Vegan options are available and can be customized upon request, and there are plenty of vegetarian dishes. The gyoza and the large spring rolls unfortunately didn't seem very fresh, which was a bit disappointing. However, the main courses with vegan chicken and vegan duck were really delicious – see photos! It's important to note: The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible, and parking in the area is very difficult to find. Overall, though, it's a nice place for a relaxed meal, especially if you're vegan or vegetarian.

A very bad experience. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for our order. Chopsticks weren't included. Furthermore, there was far too little wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce. Unfortunately, disappointing – 1 star.

Last night I ordered baked chicken with red curry. I told the receptionist at the B&B Hotel that I was waiting for a delivery. She said she'd send the courier up. Shortly after, the courier called me and said I should come down because he "had to go home." Oh well, no problem. A bit rude, but I understand. Everyone works late. I took the food to my room and opened it. The chicken was half raw. Still pink inside, slimy connective tissue, and the breadcrumbs were burnt with black spots. Really greasy. I called the restaurant, and the woman there seriously tried to tell me that they used thigh meat and that's why it looked like that. Lol. I'm from India. We also use thigh meat. I know exactly what raw chicken looks and smells like. She then said she could send me new food, but with cooked chicken. I say, "Sure, fine." She asks if I can return the old chicken so they can take a look. Of course. Then the courier (this time the woman's husband) calls me. He's at the wrong hotel to begin with. Eventually, he arrives, and from there, things really go downhill. He just had five pieces of cooked chicken in a box. He told me to just put them in the curry sauce. What?? I was still okay with it because I was super hungry and was just done. But wait a minute. I ask him where the rice is. He says I already have it. I tell him his wife wants the food back. He says just the chicken, I should eat the rest. I tell him, "Dude, this is a salmonella risk." The rice has been sitting with the raw chicken for 30 minutes. He says there's nothing he can do, the restaurant is closed. I ask him what I should do now. And he simply repeats: "We double-bread, it's normal." I tell him I'm fed up. Then he completely freaks out, yells at me to give him everything back. So I go upstairs and get the spring rolls down too. Then he tells me to get my money back through Lieferando. I tell him, no way. This is your fault. You give me my money back and sort it out with Lieferando yourselves. He calls his wife, who yells the same thing into the phone. I say, either I get my money now or I'll get it through the consumer protection agency. Not a second later, he silently pulls out the cash. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand instead of trusting the average rating. This is exactly what seems to happen with them on a regular basis. I'll be honest: anyone who intentionally serves raw chicken, with such a risk of Salmonella enterica, is playing with the law. The place is simply unprofessional, disgusting, and dangerous. The authorities should really take a look at this.

Hanoi October was great! The food was super tasty and fresh... especially the pho and bun cha really hit the spot. The people there are super friendly and the shop is really cozy and beautifully designed. I'll definitely go there again!

The food was good. The staff was nice. It was not too busy. Only criticism: 3,5 euros for a glass of water (from the taps?) is a bit expensive, though. Apart from that, I tecommend the place.

I only discovered this restaurant by chance. I spontaneously ordered Japanese food. Maguro Temaki, No. 151 (sort of like a California roll) and 1 roll (8 pieces) Maguro Inside Out, No. 164 (upside down maki). Both are made with fresh tuna. I really liked the large amount of tuna (see photos) Others are very stingy! According to the menu, there are also many Vietnamese dishes. I was there quite late, just before the end. No other guests there. Maybe because it's only been in place for about a month and not enough is known yet. Tastefully decorated. Nice, friendly, attentive staff. Fair prices. Everything fresh and homemade.

Sushi is fine, noodles with fried chicken are a complete disaster...chicken is greasy and inedible, noodles are just boiled instead of fried and there isn't even any sauce. Never again.

We ordered food and were very disappointed. The chicken was fatty and undercooked and the noodles were just cooked. The vegetables were still raw. The hardest thing I found was the rice sticking to the chicken. For me that means that the chicken was already on another dish because we had ordered fried noodles. Never again.

The food was very tasty and the portion size was okay. The jasmine tea I ordered was too strong and ended up being bitter because the loose leaves remained in the pot. The service wasn't particularly good, at least that day. Large juice spritzer was brought instead of small, the wrong food was brought, cutlery was only brought when asked. It wasn't cleared away after dinner either, so we got up straight away and paid. This works much better in an almost empty restaurant!

Have ordered there again for a long time today. The summer rolls were very tasty had veggie and avocado. The red curry was also delicious, you get what it says in the description. The crispy chicken is not a breast but it is not in the description, the sauce is with milk. A little thin but not too spicy and to my taste. The vegetables were very crunchy and fresh! Good for this price performance. Will order there again. P.s. The food came quicker than expected on Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, when you open the door you are greeted by a musty smell. Unfortunately, this doesn't go away over time. Parts of the warehouse are located in the "dining room". The service is there at the wrong times (we were still choosing) and was not available when we wanted to pay. I thought the food was very good! It wasn't just "ready-made sauce" used: I tasted the individual herbs/spices. The portions could be a little larger. Biggest drawback: the lassi was really poor in taste! Neither the mango nor the sweetness came through in the slightly watery drink.

We used the delivery service and were thoroughly disappointed. The delivery time was almost 2 hours, the chicken was dry, the fried noodles looked like they hadn't been fried. The sushi wasn't really tasty either, especially the fried stuff. It was hard, dry and really didn't taste good.

We ordered from there via Lieferando. Should be very popular in Bochum. But that was the worst meal I have ever ordered. Rice tastes like nothing. The peanut sauce was way too salty and the chicken was undercooked and smelled bad. Unfortunately the food is thrown away. I don't recommend.

Super tasty Vietnamese. Ate summer rolls and udon noodles with breaded chicken breast and fresh vegetables and delicious sauce. We were overwhelmed by the fresh and, above all, intense taste. Really great, would be happy to come back any time.

Unfortunately I wasn't there but the food leaves a lot to be desired, the sushi is great but the fried noodles are inedible! No egg, no sprouts, hardly any vegetables, I'm so disappointed and you pay €30 for that with a tip. I won't recommend it to anyone

Always super delicious food and absolutely friendly staff. Even when I accidentally ordered for pickup instead of delivery and the mistake wasn't discovered until later, it wasn't a problem to deliver.

We ordered there for the first time today and had it delivered. Delivery arrived on time and was complete and as ordered (unfortunately not always the case everywhere these days). Summer rolls with shrimp excellent. Pho with chicken is enough for two people. The noodles and sprouts were packaged separately and therefore not yet overcooked. Top! Chicken with red curry sauce and duck with peanut sauce, both great too. Absolute stroke of luck. We will order again…

It was very delicious! I had, among other things, Bo Sa-Ot, it came quickly and hot! The vegetables were crunchy, the rice was fluffy and the beef was tender. The sauce was balanced, spicy, sweet and slightly spicy. The portion size was good! I order here regularly and am very satisfied.

I have been ordering regularly from Hanoi October for years. The food is always delicious and delivered fresh. The suppliers are always friendly, even when there are no tips. I can recommend all the dishes and have already tried everything on offer. The sushi in particular is very good and the fish is of very good quality. Pho, udon and curry are also very tasty. Unfortunately I can't rate the ambience because I've only used the delivery service so far.

Leider kann ich wegen einer anschließenden Lieferung keine volle Punktzahl geben, daher nur 3 Sterne. Aber zuerst das Positive: Ein Besuch mit Frau und Kind im Lokal verlief bestens. Es war noch recht früh, daher war das Restaurant auch nicht überlaufen. Das Essen wurde recht schnell zubereitet und sehr dekorativ und vor allem reichlich angerichtet. Man schmeckte, dass alles sehr frisch und knackig (Gemüse) zubereitet wurde und ein weiterer positiver Effekt, hier wurde auf Geschmacksverstärker (mononatriumglutamat) verzichtet und nicht löffelweise wie in den meisten Asiarestaurants verarbeitet. Alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt und die Preise waren angemessen. Außerdem noch eine sehr nette und aufmerksame Dame, die uns bediente. Hier gibt es volle 5 Sterne für den Besuch im Lokal. Ein paar Monate später habe ich dort eine Bestellung durch den Lieferservice aufgegeben und war damit nicht ganz zufrieden. Lieferung war schnell in der angegebenen Zeit von 40 Min, Essen noch warm. Das Hauptgericht war reichlich (Ente, Nudeln etc) aber leider ziemlich trocken und schmeckte daher wie vom Vortag aufgewärmt. Nudeln erinnerten an Spaghetti al dente, die eine Nacht im Kühlschrank lagen. Die Gyoza waren winzig (5 Stk) und etwas fad, mit ein wenig Sojasoße, die wie aus dem Discounter schmeckte viel zu teuer. Für 5 Winzige Teigtaschen, die zusammen in eine Handfläche passen und nichtmal besonders geschmackvoll waren, sind 5,50€ definitiv überteuert. 3€ wäre dafür die Grenze. Die gebackene Banane war dafür sehr schmackhaft aber auch für diese kleinen 3 Stückchen doch wieder zu teuer. Auch hier sollte man den Preis von 4,50€ nochmal überdenken. Ich gebe der Lieferung demnächst noch eine Chance und hoffe dass das zu trockene Hauptgericht dann besser ist. Denn die erste Lieferbestellung ging leider daneben.

We ended up in Hanoi by chance and it was the best thing that could have happened to us. The service was quick and very friendly, the food was delicious and arrived quickly, the presentation of the food was detailed and delicate and the price-performance ratio was unbeatable! Der Apfelshake und die Erdnusssoße waren ein ganz besonderes Geschmackserlebnis. Die fairen Preise und die freundliche Bedienung rundeten den Besuch im Hanoi October ab und wir freuen uns auf eine Wiederholung.

My girlfriend and I spontaneously went to eat there. Even though there were reserved signs on all tables, we were still offered a table straight away. Very accommodating and friendly staff. My girlfriend had the satay chicken curry dish and I had the mango duck. It was absolutely delicious. Food was prepared quickly after we ordered and presented to us. If we were to be in Bochum again, we would be happy. Simply recommended.👍🏼

Disrespectful delivery service Unfortunately I have to give one star for the service because last night the delivery service that was supposed to bring my order home was very rude. He wanted a bigger tip than I gave him and kept complaining until he walked out the door. I met him down a flight of stairs (I live on the second floor). As soon as I paid and gave the "small tip" (which I could afford at that point), I told him "that's right." He made a very disappointed face and kept repeating 'that's right', imitating my mispronounced voice and making faces at me as he walked down the stairs and back to the front door. I'm so sorry I disappointed him, but he doesn't know the economic status of customers and frankly, he shouldn't always expect a big tip and certainly shouldn't act in such a haughty and completely disrespectful manner. If this delivery service continues to work for you, it certainly won't make you look good.

Super delicious food. Centrally located, preparation was really quick and there are countless vegan options that are also really delicious. It is definitely one of the best restaurants in the Ruhr area. The No. 92 with vegan chicken is highly recommended. But all the other vegan dishes have always been delicious. I will always be happy to come by.

Sehr gutes Essen, mit knackigem Gemüse und optisch ansprechend zubereitet. Aber: Die Toiletten entsprechen überhaupt nicht dem Standard. Dreckig, renovierungsbedürftige Pissoirs, kein Papier, im Eingang Getränkeboxen gestapelt. Schade! Wir wissen nicht, ob wir aufgrund dessen noch mal dort einkehren, da wir nicht wissen, ob es in der Küche nicht ähnlich unhygienisch zugeht.

Das Essen war wirklich nicht lecker. Sehr trocken und das Fleisch hat schlecht gerochen, wir nach altem Fett. Nach dem ersten Biss habe ich mich geekelt und konnte nicht weiter essen. Mir ist immernoch schlecht. Ich habe Bauchschmerzen.

Essen war leider enttäuschend. Sweetmango Sauce mit krossem Hähnchen: Die Soße bestand nur aus Wasser und hat nach nicht viel geschmeckt. Das frittierte Hähnchen bestand quasi nur aus der frittierten Panade. Die vietnamesischen Frühlingsrollen waren viel zu lang frittiert und schon verbrannt. Werden dort nicht noch einmal bestellen

Am Straßenrand zu sitzen, guten Service zu schätzen und einfach mal die besten Sommerollen der Stadt zu essen, das ist Hanoi October für mich. Immer gerne während der Mittagspause.

Nie wieder! Ich hatte die "knusprige Ente in Erdnusssauce" - die Ente war gefühlt vor einer Woche bereits zu lange gebraten und dann bis zur Lieferung warmgehalten und eigentlich ungenießbar. Das Gemüse war zwar etwas besser (was wirklich nicht schwer war), aber auch eher weichgekocht und ungewürzt und der Reis trocken. Ich hab die Hälfte gegessen; und das auch nur weil ich wirklich sehr hungrig war! Die Gerichte meiner Kollegen waren etwas besser, aber wohl auch kein Genuss. Werden da nie wieder bestellen.

Asiatische Küche hat uns super geschmeckt, Sushi war ausgezeichnet. Lieferdienst war freundlich und schnell. Ihr seid wirklich Top in Bochum. Vielen Dank. Sehr zufrieden!

Unser Lieblingsrestaurant in Bochum, wenn es um vietnamesische Küche geht. Super Auswahl an veganen Gerichten zu fairen Preisen. Schmeckt immer gut! Wenn dann doch mal was schief geht, wird nicht gezögert nachzubessern. So lobe ich mir das :) Auch das Personal ist immer gut gelaunt und freundlich. Wir fühlen uns dort jedes Mal wohl und willkommen!

Leckeres Sushi und faire Preise!

Wir hatten zwei selbstgemachte Limos die wirklich sehr lecker waren. Die Thom Kha Gung Suppe war eine der besten die ich je gegessen habe! Sowas cremiges und intensives! 👌🏼♥️ die Wantans waren ebenfalls sehr köstlich! Alles sehr appetitlich angerichtet! Ich hatte zudem die 912 mit Reisnudeln! Das Rind war super zart und extrem köstlich! Die Sauce wurde separat serviert so das jeder die Menge drauf machen kann die ihm beliebt. Die Nr 63 war auf den Punkt! Knackiges Gemüse und sehr leckeres paniertes Huhn👌🏼 der Reis kam separat so das er nicht in der Sauce ertrank, mag ja auch nicht jeder 😃 die Portionen sind groß 🥰 das Ambiente sowie das Personal sind sehr angenehm 👏👌🏼

Der etwas andere Asiate: Authentisch leckeres Essen zu günstigen Preisen mit einer gut gelaunten Bedienung an einem Musik Mix, der seines gleichen sucht. Sicherlich nicht Jedermanns Sache, aber wer Lust auf etwas Verrücktheit hat, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Weiter so.

Mittlerweile nach Corona und Inflation sogar günstig finde ich! Top Qualität vom Essen, frische Champignons etc.. Sehr sehr netter Service!!
