Citana Restaurant in Bochum

This is a truly fantastic restaurant in Bochum!! I absolutely love going there. The food is always, and I mean always, incredibly good. From sushi to soups, everything is always hot, delicious, and perfectly seasoned. The food arrives super fast, the staff is always helpful, and they're incredibly friendly. I think the pictures speak for themselves!!

The food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly; the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy on a Sunday evening. We'll definitely be back!

The food is good. Unfortunately, the place is very hyped at the moment, so it's very crowded and loud. You have to shout to have a conversation. Reservations are essential.

The food was leker but not impresive, and the prices were maybe a little bit too high for the quality. But maybe I just did a bad choice. The sesamo balls for example were delicious I would come back to repit and give it another try because the waitreses and the ambience were really pleasant and gently👌👏

I was really disappointed with this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious – the chicken in particular had a very strange flavor and was clearly fried in old oil. You could really taste the old oil, which completely ruined my appetite. I sent the plate back almost untouched, it was still full, and I still had to pay for the food! Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. If you're looking for good Asian food, go to the restaurant "Wok and Roll" across the street – the food tastes much better and is fresher.

Asian cuisine at its finest is served here. I recently visited for the first time and enjoyed a meal consisting of a hearty soup (as a starter) and delicious sushi. Definitely a repeat visit.

The food is consistently good, portions are average, and there's a very large selection. Unfortunately, the restaurant is a bit small and therefore a bit noisy. I was particularly bothered by my last visit: I was given warm sushi (maki). They're not supposed to be warm. When I pointed this out to a waiter, he simply said that the rice had just been freshly made and I had to accept it. I'm aware that you can't cook cold rice. Part of the preparation process also includes letting the rice cool down. The fact that I wasn't offered new sushi, even after pointing this out, was anything but customer-friendly in my opinion.

I visited Citana in Bochum and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, portions were good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

The service was helpful and very friendly. The food was simply awful; it tasted like it had been heated up in a microwave from a can. We had seaweed salad, spring rolls, chicken skewers, and for the main course, Ga Sot Ot (chicken with lemongrass and chili sauce). The spring rolls fell apart when we touched them, the three chicken skewers were tiny with leftover pieces of inferior chicken and an indefinable, tasteless glaze, and the main course, with its brown, indefinable sauce, had nothing to do with lemongrass or chili. Apart from the seaweed salad, the food was very bad overall. The really friendly waitress promised to pass on our criticism, which was also evident from the fact that we didn't finish our plates, to the kitchen. We won't try it again to see if it has any effect.

A great restaurant in the heart of Bochum. It might look a bit inconspicuous from the outside, but the menu is packed with flavor! A fantastic selection of various Pan-Asian dishes, from sushi to fried noodles and pho. There's something for everyone here!

An all-around successful experience at Citana The food was delicious and very fresh. You can taste the quality in every bite. The homemade lemonade was also really good and refreshing. The staff was friendly, attentive, and courteous. Although the restaurant was busy, the food arrived very quickly. Overall, the visit was very pleasant from start to finish. We would be happy to return and wholeheartedly recommend Citana.

The food selection is excellent, but the interior is rather functional. Sitting under the air conditioning is unpleasant.

A quick tip for anyone who often eats out in large groups: Please always check the bill carefully at the end! We were recently overcharged €15, even though we clearly stated that part of the bill had already been paid by friends who left early. Nevertheless, they claimed it was still outstanding – and we had to pay extra. That's unacceptable! That's not €1-2, but €15 too much. 👉🏼 So: Be careful, don't get charged twice – especially in larger groups!

🚨 Warning – Double Charged! Almost €10 Too Much! 🚨 We ate at Citana Bochum today with 10 people. I've always enjoyed going there – but never again after this experience. My husband and I had to leave early because of our baby and paid separately: 2 dishes (€14.90 each), a small passion fruit spritzer, and a bottle of water – a total of €45 including tip. The shock came at home: My friend asked me if we had paid for the spritzer – yes, we had. When I checked the math, it turned out: The group had been charged twice for the spritzer! And we even paid almost €10 too much. And honestly: That's no accident. Double-charging a large group – and hoping no one notices? That's just plain cheeky. We definitely won't be back – and we advise anyone going with several people: 👉 Pay close attention to your bill!

This was our third visit – unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. In the past, the quality was much better. This time, however, the rice was mushy and poorly formed, and the sushi rolls fell apart when lifted. It was simply not convincing in terms of appearance and taste. It's a shame, because we actually had fond memories of the restaurant. For this price, we expect more care and freshness. Unfortunately, we don't recommend it at this time.

Highly recommended. We spontaneously dropped in on a weekday evening and were lucky to get a table for two. Very attentive and friendly service. Delicious food was brought to our table promptly...we'll be back.

The food at Citana is always super tasty, the price for the portions is reasonable and the staff are very nice, there is a huge selection of really tasty alternatives for vegetarians and vegans, especially the mango-coconut curry with tofu :) It's a bit tight in the shop, so when the weather is better it's a good idea to sit outside

The waitresses were very friendly and, more importantly, the food was simply wonderful. Even the vegetables etc. were earlier and crunchier than I would have expected. The coffee was a little highlight for me because I had never had coffee like that before. I will definitely come back here!

I was here for the first time a few days ago and I was thrilled. We had a total of two starters and two main courses, all dishes were freshly prepared and tasty. I personally had sushi. The sushi had a very high proportion of fish, tasted great, was absolutely fresh and the price-performance ratio was more than okay. The team is super friendly and attentive.

Very nice Vietnamese restaurant with a lot of style! The food is served in large bowls and is always beautifully presented. There are also many vegan options. Everything is always very fresh and delicious. When the restaurant was new, ordering and receiving food took a long time, but things have gotten much better. The only criticism is the price of the drinks. They are really very expensive. The interior is very, very nice and the employees are friendly.

The food is incredibly delicious. I can only recommend the Citana as an insider tip and would go there again at any time :) You just have to get used to the fact that untypical music is playing, but you'll forget about it at some point :)

The mango salad – for my Southeast Asian palate, the salty and savory flavor of the fish sauce was just missing. This could hardly be tasted. The main course with curry sauce was tasty, but lacked spiciness, even though the menu stated that it should be spicy. Overall still good.

Visit for five. Two meals were forgotten. When this was pointed out, only one came. After further advice, the last dish was brought over 30 minutes later (compared to the first dishes), which was partly not what was ordered (sushi). Service didn't dare to go in our direction anymore, but still wanted a good tip. Definitely not a recommendation!

This used to be my favorite restaurant and the fried tofu with mango curry was simply my favorite meal. Unfortunately, the prices have recently been increased several times (from 12.95 at the beginning of 2024 to 14.95 now) and the last few times the rice was so soft that chewing was unnecessary. The curry also had less flavor. Maybe we can work on that...

We used to be in love with Citana but unfortunately recently food got way worse. We decided to give it one more chance today and we left disappointed ☹️. My dish was very plain, almost without taste and it was supposed to be spicy curry which I remember was full of flavor before. My husband got beef with veges which contained almost only of onion. Cannot say anything wrong about the waiter. Very friendly. Wish the restaurant would come back to its glory when they opened.

Unfortunately disappointing. The quality of the chicken breast fillet (curry) was strikingly strange, like hard and chewy rubber. I don't know anything like that and I could hardly eat it. I don't actually write reviews, but unfortunately the experience was really not recommended. Sauce for a curry very, very mild, but good, the point is a matter of taste. For me please not again.

A really nice and incredibly tasty little restaurant. With a reservation in the evening area there are no problems getting a table. The dishes are lovingly prepared and taste really great! An extensive menu and yet every dish is simply delicious!

It is very nicely decorated. Today's summer rolls were simply boring without the characteristic herbs and spices (cilantro, Thai basil, mint, ginger) and were filled entirely with noodles and iceberg lettuce (is that even allowed in there?). The special sushi roll with mango and avocado and sesame was so skimpy on exactly these 3 ingredients that it seemed a little cheeky to me. Therefore only 2 stars today for the food.

The restaurant is a clear recommendation. It's not really cheap, but it's definitely worth the price. Although I actually eat meat, I particularly recommend the fried tofu.

Very tasty food. The lunch menu was also very reasonably priced. We had sushi and rice noodles and they were really good portions. Card payment is only possible from 25€! We didn't know that beforehand, but luckily we were able to pay together.

Nice place to eat and value for money was very good. Menu and prices can be viewed online in advance. The food also came within about 15 minutes, so relatively quickly. We didn't have to wait long. Recommended restaurant!

The selection of Vietnamese restaurants in Bochum is very large. But you can't go wrong with a visit to the Citana. The staff was super friendly and accommodating during our visit, the food was served quickly and was really tasty. The menu has vegan dishes in a separate category, but there is also the option to prepare other dishes vegan.

Great restaurant! I have tried many Asian restaurants in Bochum and this Vietnamese restaurant is by far my favorite! Super fresh every time, great taste, really nice service! It is a bit loud and you are quite close to the people sitting next to you, but if that doesn't bother you, you should definitely stop by!

If you like Vietnamese food, this is the place for you. The dishes are very tasty and the staff is courteous and very friendly. Always my pleasure.

JUST NO!!! I ordered sushi and they put a lettuce leaf next to the sushi. There were at least 4 beetles, 2 small mosquitoes and 2 very small red migratory insects on the leaf. I told the waitress and she didn't even apologize!!! Would have expected compensation or at least an apology. Super unhygienic, super rude!!! NO MORE!!!

It was not bad at all, but way under the quality of other vietnamese restaurants around. Especially, the chicken was very disappointing, as it was mostly just crust and very little meat hiding inside each piece.

Small but nice - and delicious!

Large portions and small prices. That's why compromises are made when it comes to quality. The meat is of poor quality. You won't find coriander in Vietnamese dishes. No herbs, chili or limes are served with the Pho - unfortunately not authentic.

I think this is one of the best shops, if not THE best shop for delicious sushi. This was truly an unsurpassed experience in terms of taste, I could have cried with joy, it was so delicious! You also just have to look at the beautiful decoration of how the sushi was served! So appetizing and aesthetically prepared. The service was very nice and the atmosphere is very cozy and nicely decorated. I will definitely come here again, this is my favorite restaurant from now on 🍣 ❤️
