Quite tasty and inexpensive. However, there was a hair in one of the dishes.

It was incredibly delicious! We had the summer rolls as an appetizer, which came with a peanut sauce. This peanut sauce is amazing! I even had it with my main course. Absolutely recommended! We'll definitely be back!

This restaurant is located at number 36 on the famous Ehrenfeld street, Venlostr. A very charming place with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful decor. A delicious menu, with a variety of appetizers (with or without meat), hot and cold dishes depending on the season, and a spacious terrace! Authentic Vietnamese cuisine—definitely one of the best in the neighborhood! My favorites are the hot soups and the Vietnamese-style noodles! They also have a variety of teas and drinks, and a good coffee to finish your meal! The customer service is another highlight of this place!

Friendly, fast service, a great selection of food, and incredibly authentic cuisine ✨ Everything tastes super fresh, no unnecessary additives are used, and you simply feel good and pleasantly full after eating. It was pure chance that we entered this restaurant. Everything else around was packed. But here, we received help. We arrived with five people, and yet, thanks to the excellent staff, we were able to get a table. The server was quick to take our order, and the drinks arrived very promptly. The food took a little longer, as the restaurant was completely full. But the quality of the food more than made up for it. I had comfrey with crispy duck. Simply fantastic and highly recommended. And as the icing on the cake, I also had a Vietnamese coffee. The evening was lovely, and the restaurant is truly recommendable. We will definitely be back.

The food was decent, but not truly authentic Vietnamese in taste. What really bothered me, though, was that the chicken was low-quality processed meat. So, this will definitely be my last visit. A shame.

We always enjoy coming here, especially because of the many vegan options. My boyfriend eats meat, though, and he's always impressed, too. The food comes quickly, and the appetizers are also delicious. Reservations are recommended on weekends, as it's usually very busy. We highly recommend this restaurant! ☺️

The two of us spontaneously dropped in on a Friday evening without a reservation and still managed to get a table – even though it was busy. The food came quickly, was fresh, and absolutely delicious! Friendly service; we'll be back.

The food was incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired: At one point, we were forced to pay and clear the table. There was no bill for us, and we were charged for a soup that wasn't brought to us.

I made a reservation here for 16 people for my friend's bachelorette party. I was more than happy to have found a restaurant that could accommodate so many people! Since there aren't enough tables for that many, I was seated at two tables for eight, which was perfectly fine! The service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating, and the prices were more than fair! The food arrived quickly and was incredibly delicious! Every single one of us thought our dish was fantastic. I had the udon noodles in soy sesame sauce with sesame tofu, and it was incredibly flavorful and a generous portion. Highly recommended 🙏♥️

I highly recommend Hanoi 36! The moment you enter, you sense a welcoming atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive—we felt completely welcome. Even vegetarians and vegans can enjoy a wide range of dishes here—the seitan chicken is a truly great alternative!

I love Vietnamese food. I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything we had was delicious, except for the crispy duck, which was too crispy and dry inside. The crispy chicken, on the other hand, was cooked to perfection. Everything else tasted great.

Very delicious food, and I enjoy going there very often, usually with company. Unfortunately, the prices seem to have been drastically increased recently. Starters went up from 5.90 to 7.90, and some main courses went up from 12.90 to 14.90. Certainly normal by now, but I find the jump of 15-30% quite significant. It's a shame, as alternatives are becoming more attractive...

I personally really enjoyed the food – both the starters and main courses were delicious and of a very high quality. The staff was super friendly and attentive, which further contributed to the overall experience. The price/performance ratio is generally good: The main courses are very reasonably priced for the quality and portions offered; you really can't complain. The starters are a small disappointment. While they are also very tasty and high-quality, they are a bit expensive for what you get. The portions are typically small, which is normal, but I would have expected a bit more in terms of price. Nevertheless: If you're looking for authentic, high-quality Vietnamese food, this is the place for you. I will definitely come back.

My conclusion: I have to deduct one star because the noodle portion was a bit small (I wasn't full and had to order a second one 😅) But, as I said, it was veeery tasty, and especially the peanut sauce – a dream! Lovely food, plenty of options and nice place to sit inside with a breeze and the windows open - atmosphere could be improved slightly as its next to a road and you can hear the kitchen. Please note; they don’t take card only cash.

Since living 1 year in Germany, finally I can find my favorite taste of nasi goreng (fried rice) in this restaurant. Very recommended for those who miss nasi goreng. ;)

There is a large menu and my tip is the udon noodles with sesame tofu 🤩 The in-house lemonade didn't convince me. The atmosphere is modern, but not cozy.

Pretty tasty and currently my favorite in Cologne when it comes to Asian cuisine. I can especially recommend the red curry sauce – really well seasoned and aromatic! The spring rolls, however, didn't impress me as much. Nevertheless, overall a clear recommendation!

The beef pho was very tasty and flavorful. Not too greasy. I might have liked a little more herbs and scallions. The lime with it was good. I was there in the afternoon, it wasn't that busy, so it seemed a bit dreary, but the food came super quickly and was enjoyable. Beautiful flowers. When it's full, the atmosphere is definitely better.

Wow, I have rarely been as enthusiastic about the dishes in Cologne as I was at Hanoi 36. Ehrenfeld has a culinary highlight here. Price/performance top! We'll definitely be back. P.S. My personal recommendation is to order the papaya salad as a starter.

Nice restaurant with initially quite inattentive, then friendly service. Unfortunately, only one of the 5 dishes was able to convince us halfway; the udon noodles, the papaya salad and the curry generally lacked salt and a more intense taste. The udon noodles in a thin sweet and sour sauce seemed completely unseasoned and bland. Overall rather disappointing. The lemonades were good.

The service was absolutely great! We have rarely received such competent and friendly service. The food for our son was prepared extra quickly (toddler with a lot of hunger🙈) without us asking. This made the waiting time more pleasant for us, even though it was really short. Our food was also very tasty. All in all, we had a really great lunch and are super satisfied. 😊 We would be happy to recommend you!

RASISMUS!!! Even though we had a reservation for 4 people, there were empty tables before they let us in, but they were for others, we had a reservation, what kind of irresponsibility is this? I showed the reservation on the phone, but they shouted at us and were very rude. We were subjected to racism because we were not German. I did not have to speak good German. This place would never be my choice.

Ambience good, rest unfortunately poor. Among other things, we had a dish with baked chicken breasts. Quite unusual in taste. It wasn't tender but "al dente", like chewing on a slice of carrot. The sauce was also unusually watery. In addition, the food was served after about 20 minutes. The food looks good visually, but taste should play a larger role here.

Where do a vegan + a flexitarian go if they want to eat delicious food? They are going to HANOI!!! It is advisable to reserve a table in advance as it is usually very busy. The menu offers plenty of choice, including... unusual dishes with duck or chicken flavor. We had the spring rolls and the beetroot salad as starters. Both prepared very tasty. I would have liked fresh beetroot better in the salad, but here it was from a jar. The two main courses were visually very appealing and tasted delicious. Absolute recommendation - also for flexitarians!!!

When it comes to food, I can't decide clearly between 3 and 4 stars. I would definitely give the service and staff as well as hygiene a 3.8 because there were small mistakes made like the food was mixed up, friendliness, etc. but the ambience and the furnishings clearly turned out better than the other two. Nice and simple furnishings, the sound of others is well absorbed by the furnishings and it seems quieter than it is when eating (+.) I've spent hundreds of euros here with friends since the restaurant followed the Chinese restaurant Hua Lin, because the food is really good and I live in the neighborhood. Compared to the neighboring Vietnamese restaurant, this one is smaller, simply and simply furnished, with close seating and no frills. What is convincing here is the food. Today, after a while, I wanted to quickly eat something alone on the way home. But all tables were occupied, except for a table for 4 without a reserved sign. I've often sat here alone at tables of four during the day, even when smaller ones were free. I sat down and the waiter asked me rather bluntly, what would you like? What do you want in the restaurant, the menu please! I found this stupid question about what I wanted there to be completely inappropriate. Then they said that if they were alone, they couldn't sit there and had to wait until a smaller table became available. I need the table. So it wasn't a question of having a reservation for this table, as I could apparently have stayed seated if other people had come. I should probably wait in front of the door for a free small table, as everything was packed and you couldn't even stand anywhere while waiting and there was no waiting area in the narrow restaurant. This could certainly have been communicated in a more polite and friendly manner, e.g. I can move them straight away if a smaller table becomes available, but I'll bring you the card in advance and I would have e.g. B. I wouldn't have minded if someone had been seated next to me. I just wanted to eat something quickly and then I would have left immediately. How about a sign, please wait, we'll be happy to put it up straight away. Unfortunately, that was it for me with this restaurant, where individual guests are not welcome in order to maximize profits in the evening, despite mostly good and tasty cuisine. There are two Asian alternatives next door, where I was always served courteously, even as a single guest, and what counts for me in addition to the food is simply the politeness of the staff. I would like to emphasize that the food is good (that's why I visit Hanoi more often) but unfortunately there has always been a bit of a problem with the young service here, things were forgotten, brought incorrectly, people were overlooked... My experience today, which doesn't relate to that Food - which I didn't receive - but can only relate to today's service, so unfortunately I can only rate it with one star. .

I immersed myself in delicious Vietnamese cuisine while sharing stories and laughter with locals and other travelers. Hanoi 36 became much more than a place to enjoy good food; It was a meeting point where hospitality and tradition merged to create unforgettable memories.

I'm really not a fan of Asian food. But this place has everything you're looking for in a restaurant. Great friendly waiters. Clean restaurant. Food with quality as well as effort.
