We were there some time ago. But we didn't forget the restaurant. We remember it very positively and want to visit it again. The food is of very good quality and the waitresses are very friendly. My girlfriend and I felt comfortable😃Thanks for that

Top food, very good service and very good prices

I went to eat at the Hamburger Stadtkrug with my family on Sunday. The restaurant is a wonderful place to enjoy traditional, down-to-earth German cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The menu offers a good selection of classic and hearty dishes. The service was consistently friendly and attentive. Our waitress took the time to offer recommendations and ensured we didn't lack anything. The wait times were pleasantly short, even though the restaurant was busy.

We spontaneously asked for a table on Saturday afternoon. A friendly lady offered us a table in the next room. From ordering to payment everything was ok. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy! We would come back if we didn't live so far away!

Super great restaurant, great menu, nice staff, no time frame from when to when you can stay there like in other restaurants, TOP would eat there again and again. Labskaus eat as much as possible for about 20 euros

A quaint restaurant. Very tasty food and nice service. The sour meat tasted excellent and was really interestingly seasoned - we've never eaten it like that before. Absolutely worth it. The fried potatoes could have been a little crispier, but they still tasted great. The red jelly for dessert was a highlight. The portions were very large and filling. We'd love to come back

Yesterday the four of us spontaneously went to the Hamburger Stadtkrug. We ate the best potato pancakes there 😋😋😋 we felt super comfortable, everyone was very, very nice and very attentive. The rustic atmosphere is exactly what we imagined 😁 We would love to come back and can only recommend the Hamburger Stadtkrug to everyone 👋😋😋👍😊

very good German food, nice traditional restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Both the schnitzel (although cranberry jam was missing) and the housewife-style matjes fillet were great. The service was friendly, helpful and quick. Definitely recommended if you fancy German cuisine. Prices are also absolutely fair.

Went here on Dec 7 with my 6year old daughter. Server told us it would be a few minutes to be seated. We were okay with that. Then she returned and told told she hoped we were not too hungry because it could take a while.. I continued to say we were willing to wait. Then another party of 2 showed up and were seated before us. Hostess/waitress extremely rude.

Super beautiful and authentic German chrome. We ate here on our last night in Hamburg and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything, from the service, the atmosphere and not least the food, was perfect. We ate Schnitzel with braised potatoes, yum we just say.

Unfortunately disappointing. The drinks were good, chilled and served in matching glasses. However, the food was very mediocre and felt like it only consisted of sauces. I also doubt that these were homemade. The baked potato portion was very large so it could be shared. However, the amount of sauce was absolutely disproportionate. The side salad also floated… Not recommended.

Nice, small, quaint pub with a good selection of drinks. Prices okay and staff very nice. It's the kind of pub that people like to make their regular pub.

Home-style rustic cuisine, delicious lunch

Even though the restaurant was "full" due to many reservations, we were able to get a seat at the counter. Luckily, because we got excellent food and were served in an extremely friendly and courteous manner. The Scandinavian-style matjes (with mustard-honey-dill sauce) is highly recommended and the farmer's pan was also very good.

First of all: do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Worst meal/restaurant in a long time. Food: Labskaus and pumpkin ginger chili soup was okay, probably homemade. All other dishes were schnitzel (which was delicious and a large portion) with vegetables and fries as well as baked potatoes with salad and turkey, unfortunately everything came from a bag/deep fryer/prepared sauces and was far too greasy/oily. So the trip to the toilet was inevitable. The knocker was probably the potato pancakes in a potato house, unfortunately not homemade. The familiar rounds from the supermarket. But so thoroughly fried in the deep fryer and dripping with fat, hard as a rock and inedible! Unbelievable! Went back again! We didn't expect that given the location of the restaurant and the rating. Maybe we were unlucky - still not recommended. It's sad that tourists might think that this food represents our German cuisine. Service: unfriendly/annoyed. We had reserved (4 people) because the reviews (from wherever) were quite good. Restaurant half empty. Nevertheless, we got the cat place at the entrance/door. When we asked whether we could get a free seat at the window in the restaurant, the answer was no, someone else had made a reservation before us, even though she hadn't asked/looked about our reservation. It turned out that no other tables were reserved. Later we were able to sit at the window. What's the point of that... there was probably great hope for larger groups. Prices: actually okay, but considering the quality of the food, the money is probably too bad. Conclusion: don't do it and go somewhere else. Unless you have no demands, but even then there are plenty of other restaurants. We still took it with humor.

Service unfriendly, hectic service, totally overwhelmed as there were only 2 service staff in the overcrowded restaurant. Toilet terribly dirty. Food was delicious. The whole restaurant is not recommended at the moment! Unfortunately! It used to be better.

We come from Munich and are in Hamburg once a year. The first dinner is always in the Stadtkrug. Always a treat and hot, I love hot food. Keep it up, we'll be back.

We were there with a group that had booked in advance. Unfortunately, because there weren't enough staff, everything took longer. But everyone really enjoyed the food and the portions were large. Overall recommended.

Nice restaurant located at cellar height with a beer garden in front of the restaurant. We walked there from the Binnenalster! By Googling we found out that there was good Labskaus there and the taste was really the best in recent years and unbelievable but true you get a second helping for free!!! Although I was actually full, I had to try it out and the nice waitress immediately asked if I could have some more, even though I didn't want much more, it was a good portion again, my friend had to help, I couldn't have managed more, side dishes (beetroot, cucumber), eggs, everything was fine Unfortunately there was only a small, very sour roll mop that was nothing! But still gladly 5 stars for it !!! also a nice lady in service! Mandatory again the next time you visit Hamburg. Until then, I hope the Labskaus stays as it is!!!greetings from Moers!

Apart from the fact that we received a coke over the best before date, there is nothing to complain about! Very tasty German cuisine.

We came to the restaurant by chance when we were looking for somewhere to eat. The idea with the potato room is great. We enjoyed the dishes and there are pictures of the dishes included. For me, the beef in particular was very well fried and the fried potatoes were very tasty, which is not always the case. Scrambled eggs are a little different than what you're used to, I'd say it's a matter of taste. The ambience is very harmonious inside, but not quite as nice outside. But they can't do anything about the road. The service was always nice and we got the right dishes and drinks, nothing to complain about. In terms of price, we paid just over or under 30 euros each. At least worth a look

Home-style cooking. Freshly cooked. Like from mom ;-) Fried potatoes crispy and not too salty. Puree still slightly chunky. Perfect.

Total disappointment. (Rustic German cuisine) We saw a very attractive breaded schnitzel in a photo. With great expectations, we ordered the Jäger-style schnitzel with fried potatoes. First disappointment, the schnitzel was unbreaded. Secondly on the meat, oregano and parsley. The rest was pretty much nothing either.

First comment of my life but it was a very bad experience. -We waited 1 hour for the dishes -One waitress was not pleasant -There was bacon in one of the dishes but was not mentionned on the menu -The egg white was not completely cooked -The bill was wrong

The stuff was rude, I guess because we are not local. At last we ordered Schnitzel and potato soup. Guys, next time, please, add more salt and pepper, as we could still taste the food beyond the layer of spices 🥴

The food is good, but more standard than anything exceptional. The service could be a little quicker, but the food still comes to the table hot. And you can watch the strolling tourists and business people hurrying past before, during and after your meal because the outdoor resti is located in the middle of the street that has become a pedestrian zone and passers-by stream past on the left and right.

A true and authentic restaurant, with its traditional menu and interior. We always try to visit when we're in Hamburg.

Unfortunately the Camenbert wasn't homemade, but otherwise very good. A very nice waitress served us at the table outside in a friendly and timely manner and the gentleman at the counter was also very friendly. Ambiance very very good! Nice and cozy inside!

We waited over 30 minutes. Unfortunately we didn't get anything except drinks. The waiters were very rude and unhelpful. Despite asking when you can order, there was no reaction from the waiter. The neighboring bars were much more attentive. A pity. No recommendation.

Were ignored as guests. After the fourth waitress walked past us without saying good evening, without giving us a card or asking if we were already being served, we got up again and left. It's a shame... the neighboring restaurants were much more attentive.

The food was amazing as was everything. There was plenty of food, you certainly leave feeling satisfied. I recommend the herring dish housewife's style for sure. Also the Apple strudel was absolute heaven. All of the staff were friendly the lady behind the bar who works Saturday was a credit to the place.

We ate there twice this week, one evening it was very full and the service was simply fantastic, super friendly and kept an eye on everything, despite the many full tables. The food was delicious and if I could give 10 points, all categories would get them too. If you can and want to eat well, you've come to the right place... TOP!!!!

Hatte die Bauernpfanne. Sehr lecker und grosse Portion. Die hätte auch für 2 Pers. gereicht. Es war sehr viel los und die arme Servicedame war alleine. Darum musste ich Geduld habe, was nicht so schlimm war, hatte Zeit. Das Essen war sehr gut. Habe sogar einen Kaffe bekommen für die lange Wartezeit. Gerne wieder.

For my taste, a little too much potato in the menu, almost all dishes are based on it. But the dishes are tasty, and the waiter is very friendly.

I love coming to Hamburg and at least one visit to the Stadtkrug is a must. If you love potato dishes like me, you are guaranteed to find the right one. Portions are plenty, next time I should order a smaller one.

The service is friendly and generally attentive: you are asked what you want to drink before you get the menu; but after that often unfortunately never asked again. Even if you put the empty plate next to the empty beer mug, often only the plate is cleared away and the empty mug is left behind. So you have to take action yourself. The obligatory question “does it taste good” is never missing, even if you only have half a potato on your plate. So the “new school”. - But the good food and the very friendly treatment prevail. Clearly

Good food, great fried potatoes and the Kaiserschmarn was really delicious. The service was a little hamburger-like, but not unfriendly.

The food is 100% worth the price! I had roast suckling pig with bread dumplings. Everything was great from the quality of the meat to the delicious bread dumplings to the tasty sauce. If you're looking for a rustic location with delicious food, you'll get your money's worth here!

We went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday and were thrilled. The dishes offered here are really delicious and are absolutely freshly prepared. The atmosphere here makes you feel completely at home. My greatest respect goes to the waitress, she was alone and the place was full. She organized everything professionally and perfectly, and always had a smile. The boss can be really proud of this woman.

Waren nach langer Zeit wieder mal mit 4 Personen dort Essen und Trinken. Das Essen war okay,Labskaus viel aber geschmacklich nicht mehr so richtig. Ganz Schlimm die Getränkepreise, Flasche Bier 6euro. Viel zu teuer,und der Labskaus auch über 20euro. Schade aber gehen dort nicht mehr hin.
