Halong Bay in München

Unfortunately, Halong Bay is no longer there, and I haven't tried the successor yet. Just looking at the menu was enough for me; the dishes are so exorbitantly expensive that they no longer suit the restaurant. So, I won't try the successor either; I'm just sorry that Halong Bay is no longer there.

Food was great. Price performance was really impressive for Munich standards. Service was very nice. Would love to come back.

We usually have the problem with Asian restaurants that the food is too spicy or exotic for the children. That's not an issue here. The soups tasted of nothing, lacking the herbs that are essential in rice noodle soup, nor any flavor at all. The summer rolls also had lamb's lettuce instead of herbs, which tasted of nothing. The Pad Thai wasn't Pad Thai at all, but rice noodles with some kind of sauce. The ginger tea came as rooibos tea with ginger strips. Very interesting. We're full, but we certainly won't be coming back.

I had Pad Thai #30. It was very tasteless, edible after seasoning with soy and chili sauce. If you want to go to an Asian restaurant with children who don't want spicy or spicy food, then you might be in the right place...

The food was quite greasy and tasteless. There was tofu in my meal, unexpectedly – ​​no idea why... Based on previous reviews, we were looking forward to some delicious Asian food – there are certainly better options elsewhere in Munich, even if the price was right.

Instead of the tom yam gung soup (lemongrass-lime soup with shrimps), we got a vegetable broth with broccoli and other vegetables, as well as 2 shrimps. Also, the tofu dumplings we ordered were unfortunately chicken dumplings (not so cool if you're vegetarian). It's a shame, I was hoping to order take-away there more often, but unfortunately I have to think about that more carefully now.

Very welcoming place, friendly staff, and very good traditional food. Recommended!

October 2023: Operator has changed. February 2024: Tried on site for the first time. The menu hasn't changed much compared to before, but the prices have been raised massively. The guest room is still extremely spartan; apart from some paint, not much has changed. The radiant heater in the winter months is well-intentioned, but it creates far too much heat in the seats directly next to it. Food is okay, but way too expensive for the atmosphere here. Payment is only possible in cash or with PayPal. My recommendation: Go to Lu Bu Soul Food, 1 minute away.

The service is just OK in terms of of timing and friendliness, however, our questions and request to have not spicy, not hot food was somehow ignored. In my vegetarian dish I found pieces of chicken (they seem to use the same pan for everything). Bisides, the dishes did not look attractive in contrast to other Vietnamese restaurants.

We're not going there anymore. Unfortunately, since the change of ownership, it can no longer be recommended. Absolutely difficult communication on the phone, can hardly speak German. I ordered soup, noodles and sushi. I only received noodles. He forgot soup and there was no sushi that evening. But he didn't mention that on the phone. We then had to order food somewhere else at half past ten in the evening. We really liked the shop before, but now we prefer to order from Sushi Premium Lehel around the corner.

Best Vietnamese food I‘ve had in Lehel and all of Munich! Very impressed by this hole in the wall place. Food is fresh, perfectly prepared, and just tastes. Highly highly recommend!

Die vegetarischen Optionen schmeckten gut, man konnte draussen sitzen. Die Wartezeit war angemessen. Man konnte nur mit PayPal oder per Barzahlung zahlen.

Me gustó mucho. Personal muy amable y cómoda bastante sabrosa y muy bien de precio. El local y la terraza son muy agradables, está en una calle muy tranquila.

The food was really nice, we had a pad Thai, the place doesn't look very friendly but meals are really worth it !

Tried chicken wings as the starters. Pad Thai and Reis mit Hänchen knusprig as main course. Both were good, especially the Reis. The staff was friendly. Accepts only cash though.

This restaurant is about 15 mins waking distance from Marienplatz. The owners are nice especially the older daughter, she helped us with translating the menu, my bad forgot to download the google lens. The foods are good especially the pho. I hope we have a chance to come back here again.

I tried the Vietnamese roll and the pho ga, and their taste was very original. Highly recommended.

Vietnamita bastante normal, con precios elevados para la calidad de los platos, por no hablar de las bebidas...un robo a mano armada... El pato estaba bueno, el arroz normal y pedimos también un Pho Bo, no lo recomiendo, me pareció una sopa bastante insulsa...

Freundliche Bedienung. Pad Thai war ok, aber nicht wirklich authentisch oder geschmacklich umwerfend. Toiletten wirkten nicht wirklich sauber. Dennoch solides Essen und immer eine gute Idee wenn man Hunger hat.

Leider kann ich dieses Restaurant überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Das Personal ist wahnsinnig unfreundlich und aggressiv Kunden gegenüber. Zudem hat das Essen (Tofu- und Entengericht) sehr fad geschmeckt. Die Location scheint das einige Plus an diesem Restaurant zu sein.

Sehr gutes Schnellrestaurant mit liebevollem Service: für die Banane mit Honig wurde extra noch schnell eine Banane besorgt, die waren vor dem Feiertag ausgegangen. Und: alles frisch gekocht und äußerst lecker)

Gutes und günstiges Essen (sehr empfehlenswert Gemüse - mit oder ohne Tofu - in Mango-Sauce oder die Tom Kha Gai Suppe), große Auswahl. Aufgrund des Angebotes "Schülerbox" mittags oft leider sehr voll und laut 🔊 - für die Schüler sicherlich eine gute Option - für die "to stay"-Gäste recht belastend. Man kann Essen telefonisch vorbestellen und abholen. Sollte z.B. eine Sorte Sushi ausverkauft sein, wird sie auf Nachfrage frisch zubereitet, das ist Service! UPDATE Dezember 2021: Die Preise wurden kräftig erhöht. Essen bleibt zwar das gleiche, frisch und gut aber nun nicht mehr günstig. 🙁 Gäste, die im Lokal essen wollen, werden nach ihrem Impfnachweis gefragt. Wegen Corona wird jetzt im Dezember Sa.-So. geschlossen sein. Wohl auch als Sparmaßnahme wird der Gastraum nicht geheizt - ohne Jacke/Mantel kann man drinnen (!) nicht zum Essen bleiben ❄ Am späteren Nachmittag, wenn man auf etwas weniger Leute und auf Ruhe hofft, isst auch das Personal im Gastraum - an sich würde es mich nicht stören, aber bei Zubereitung des Essens gibt es massive Rauchentwicklung, mit der die Abluftanlage offenbar nicht fertig wird. Die Luft im Gastraum wird grau und stickig, die Gerüche ziehen schnell in die Kleidung... 😕 und wenn es dann noch eine laute Übertragung eines (Fussball?)Spiels auf dem Handy dazukommt, dann vergeht einem wirklich alles. Ich komme nicht so bald wieder 😤

Ich bestelle desöfteren mittags bei Halong Bay und bin total zufrieden. Sehr angemessene Preise und schnelle Küche. Gern wieder! Update 29.03.2021: Bestellung via Lieferando mit Nutzung des Stempelkarten-Gutscheins. Ich habe einen bösartigen Anruf erhalten, dass man "nun nichts mehr verdient" und "Lieferando zu viel verlange". Ja, ich kann das nachvollziehen, aber dann bitte nicht an solchen Aktionen (Stempelkarten) teilnehmen. Vor allem als Stammkunde habt Ihr mich verloren!

Bestellt dort kein Sushi! Ansonsten ganz okay.

Habe heute das Tagesmenue probiert, es war ausgezeichnet. Frisches knackiges Gemüse, wohlschmeckendes Hühnchen und reichlich Reis mit eines perfekten Sosse, nicht zu scharf mit Limettenblätter. Eine echte Empfehlung!

Spectacular flavors. Best Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese I’ve had in a couple of years (coming from a Peruvian, it’s really a compliment). Generously served. Fresh ingredients prepared at the moment by the owner and wife. Don’t underestimate the simple appearance of the place. Great location in a quite nice neighborhood, minutes from the city center.

Anrufen und bestellen, dann zum vereinbarten Zeitpunkt abholen: funktioniert perfekt, ist sehr schmackhaft und preislich sehr in Ordnung. Handfeste asiatisches Essen. Dort vor Ort zu essen ist ein wenig nüchtern und kühl.

Realmente disfrutamos de la barata y buena Pho (sopa de fideos), el servicio era amable y a mis hijos les encantó la comida.
