The food was unfortunately not very good; I ordered duck and it was unfortunately not recommended, burnt and dry. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant.

Walked from the Munich Sofitel after advice from concierge, was tucked away from the main city centre, but still very busy on a Wednesday evening which is always a good sign. Food was excellent, they accommodated my vegan diet and the black sesame sorbet to finish off the meal was exceptional.

The value for money is unfortunately very poor. I ordered the giant prawns with rice and vegetables, but they weren't giant prawns at all, just regular ones, and there were only three in my entire dish. That's not justified at a price of €28.50.

Had the deep fried tofu and the veggie dumplings for firsts, for mains we had the curry duck and some veggie stir fry All of dishes taste were precise and they were cooked perfectly. We just walked around and walked in without a reservation, luckily they had a place for us. Very friendly staff, prompt and pleasantly reserved, yet friendly and cheerful. The food is truly incredibly delicious and plentiful, made with fresh ingredients. The price/performance ratio is fully justified. The interior is also high-quality and beautifully decorated, but the seating is a bit dark and crowded.

One of my all time favorite restaurants in Munich. I have been coming here for over 10 years with and without the family. Every and any dish is delicious and authentic. I’ve never been disappointed. The drinks (esp the cocktails and mocktails) are delicious as well. The owners and staff are attentive and lovely. The restaurant and garden have a wonderful aesthetic. Perfect for any occasion but make sure to make a reservation if you want to be sure to get a table. (Esp in the colder months or if you want to sit outside in the summer.) My advice on the deserts: the Vietnamese banana pudding and the mango sticky rice are the best. ;)

The three of us spent a wonderful evening on Friday on the beautiful terrace. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The service was excellent – attentive, warm, and pleasantly unobtrusive. As we left, I was able to take a quick look into the kitchen and was impressed: they were diligently cleaning there, and everything seemed very clean and hygienic. One small downside: The rosé wine unfortunately wasn't to my taste, and the price seemed rather high at €9 per glass. Overall, however, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening – thank you very much!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Even though it was pretty full, service was quick and efficient, and all staff spoke English so I had no issues. Generous portions and delicious Pho you must try if you happen to have the opportunity.

The food is always very good, although portion sizes sometimes fluctuate. Service is usually quite unemotional, but we still enjoy coming back. The garden is also a lovely place to sit.

We've eaten at the Banyan several times over the past few years, and we've always been very satisfied. Yesterday, I had bad luck with my choice of aperitif; it just wasn't to my taste. The way the staff dealt with my dissatisfaction was absolutely commendable and very accommodating – they swapped my drink, and the waiter did so with a friendly smile. Simply outstanding service. Thank you so much! We'll be back!

A nice change from the normal German restaurant. Great location below street level in what looks like a residence. Staff was able to find us a table without a reservation on a Friday night at 8:30. Polite and patient staff coupled with great food, numerous options and great prices. Worth a visit.

I recently went there with a friend for lunch. We are both vegetarians and found the dishes to be very good. The rice dish with peanut base sauce was a delight. Although the place was quite busy, we were able to order nicely and quickly. The food was very good and we would gladly return.

Really absolutely fantastic food at relatively reasonable prices. However, asking for money for extra rice is extremely inappropriate. Politeness isn't really a priority either. The music was a bit inappropriate for the very nice interior and you shouldn't shout through the kitchen with such a target group. That could change so quickly (+ the map on Google Maps is not up to date).

A fantastic tasty restaurant. If Munich is a hotspot for quality Vietnamese cuisine, Banyan is one of the jewels in the crown. The menu is a collection of classic dishes prepared with care and taste. Definitely recommended for those who enjoy excellent Vietnamese dishes. The restaurant is also in a beautiful building, with serene decor.

Super tasty dishes with friendly staff

I was with my children today and we had a great time. Top ambience, top service and the food was simply recommended for every taste. Parking spaces aren't a problem either. It is also very easy to reach by public transport, about 3 minutes from the train station.

We reserved a table on Saturday evening at short notice and snagged one of the last available. The ambiance was immediately very pleasant, with pleasant colors and subdued lighting. In addition to Vietnamese classics, the menu also offers delicious and unusual cocktails. The food itself (glass noodle salad/Vietnamese spare ribs/Pho soup) was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. All in all, a relaxed dining experience and great value for money!

Das in einem Souterrain gelegene Lokal bietet dem Gast ein etwas umfangreicheres Speisenangebot als die üblichen Vietnamesen in München. Service und Qualität/Frische der Speisen sind sehr gut, wenn auch der Genuss der Speisen keine unauslöschliche Gourmeterfahrung auslöst. Das Preis-/leistungsverhältnis würde ich als angemessen bezeichnen (Stand: März 2025).

Wichtig für mich sind bei einem Restaurant die angebotenen Speisen und Getränke. Und hier stimmt die Qualität und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis! Auch der Service ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Die Räume sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm. An einem Dienstagabend sehr gut besucht. Ich habe den letzten freien Platz bekommen, ohne Reservierung, die ich allerdings dringend empfehle. Auf meine Wünsche wurde unverzüglich reagiert und frisch geschnittene Chilischoten nachgereicht. Große Auswahl an diversen Getränken, gute Weinauswahl. Insgesamt eine angenehme Erfahrung. Ganz klare Weiterempfehlung.

What is important to me in a restaurant is the food and drinks offered. And here the quality and the price-performance ratio are right! The service is also very friendly, attentive and fast. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Very busy on a Tuesday evening. I got the last available place, without a reservation, which I strongly recommend. My requests were responded to immediately and freshly cut chili peppers were added. Large selection of various drinks, good wine selection. Overall a pleasant experience. Very clear recommendation.

I had dinner here yesterday. The food itself was very tasty, unfortunately I had a large piece of plastic in my food. The waitress apologized and that was it 😅 For this price and the risk of almost choking, I would have expected a little more. The whole table was shocked!

Excellent Vietnamese eatery. The main course specialties are delicious. Very good white wines, also from Austria. I only found the crispy squid in the starters to be less imaginatively prepared compared to the other dishes. Everything else is top class!

Banyan is a fantastic restaurant in terms of food quality, atmosphere and service. I‘ve been there many times, tried many dishes and always enjoyed it. Tip for coffee livers: have the „Vietnamese coffee“ (and be patient, it takes a few minutes until it has dripped through the filter).

Gleichbleibend gute Qualität im Restaurant BANYAN seit Jahren. Immer wieder gut sind die Summer Rolls zum selber rollen aber auch die Ente mit Pok choi Gemüse, Knoblauch und Soja Sauce ist sehr gut. Dazu besonders leckere Cocktails. Immer wieder ein gelungener Abend.

Asians are placed in the corners, and Westerners who arrive later than Asians are guided to the center seats. The bean sprouts that came with the rice noodles looked very wilted and old.

Das Lokal hat eine nette Patina bekommen, heute Abend stimmte das Wetter und der nette Hof war aufgesperrt. Die Küche wie gehabt : super gschmackiges Viet Namesisches Essen. Daß die Auswahl an Deutschen Weinen hier attraktiver ist als in gewissen Lokalen in Koblenz, wo die Mosel in den Rhein fließt, ehrt das Banyan. Total charmante und professionelle Bedienung, sehr bald wieder !

Top food and friendly service, sometimes longer waiting times but these are compensated for with impeccable products. Cozy atmosphere, also suitable for a special occasion. What is also special is the exceptionally large and diverse selection of dishes. All in all, nothing to complain about.

an authentic VN restaurant - i knew i was in the right place for pho bo when the waitress brought out fresh herbs traditionally served along pho bo like basil and cilantro (rau que and ngo gai). the broth had the right flavor and well balanced (hard to achieve with pho). the chicken noodle (pho ga) however was lacking the ginger undertone so was sub-par. the grilled beef wrapped in heart leave (bo nuong la lot) was flavorful but a bit lean and dry - need to use more fatty ground beef. the dipping sauce (nuoc mam ot)was spot on
