The table that was ordered and confirmed was canceled 3 hours in advance because there was only a buffet for 40 euros. This amount is unrealistic, especially since he wanted to think about a child allowance. Not possible with two families. No response from the operator. But we also found another delicious restaurant on New Year's Eve.

We were there for lunch on Boxing Day and were unfortunately disappointed. We specifically chose the restaurant because they also have vegan dishes on the menu. Unfortunately at Christmas there was a special menu with only about 8 main dishes, none of which were vegetarian and lactose-free. Unfortunately, there was no option to simply eat the side dishes, as the dishes could only be ordered exactly as they were on the menu. When I asked the waiter what I should eat, he said he didn't know either. At the end I got a very small salad and a portion of fries. Disappointing. In my opinion, the restaurant hasn't thought it through to the end if they offer vegan dishes on the normal menu, so you have to expect that guests with intolerances, for example, will come even on public holidays. The staff also seemed fundamentally overwhelmed. A drink spilled by a waitress wasn't wiped up properly until we left, leaving a puddle under our table. Otherwise we were always happy at the potato house, but this time we were really disappointed.

Yesterday the four of us wanted to spend a nice evening with good food. But unfortunately that was nothing. We had to wait a long time for the drinks and the food was a disaster. The schnitzel only consisted of breading, the meat in it was 1mm, the vegetables were not yet cooked and burnt, inedible and for over 20 euros. We definitely won't come here again

Had dinner with the whole family at the potato house on Christmas Day. It was supposed to be a nice and, above all, relaxing day, especially because it was my mother and I's birthday. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. The ambience was zero and you felt like you were in a crowded hall. Hardly any room to sit and everything was super cramped. Food selection very poor and absolutely overpriced. We had duck leg with red cabbage and dumplings. Simply inedible and cold. Dumplings like rubber and dry. Duck leg limp and barely seasoned for €24.90. My mother was looking forward to roulade and was more than disappointed. Totally tough and hard to cut. The other dishes were also a real disaster. The staff was also more than overwhelmed. Once and never again. We thank the potato house for nothing.

The potato house was always very full and cozy and the food was always delicious, but unfortunately many were very disappointed at the Christmas party... Drinks came slowly, we had to wait for 20 minutes, and the buffet wasn't appealing either and the taste wasn't what it used to be was😌, a shame!

We made a reservation today for Christmas Day for 8 adults and 4 children and were placed in a room that was too small. Our waiter's service was poor. We only received the first drink order after 25 minutes. The food was served after 70 minutes. In the meantime no service, requests for more drinks. Most of the food was served cooled down and was limited in size. The fries for the children were hot but partly raw. The taught plates were cleared very late. It's a shame it was supposed to be a nice family meal, I've had much better experiences there.

Eating on Christmas Day makes you happy and then you are quickly brought down to earth. Had a beef roulade with dumplings and red cabbage for €24.90. Roulade is actually a braised dish. The roulade was tough and dry and the sauce wasn't enough to compensate for it. The dumplings were close to rubber tires and the red cabbage unfortunately avoided the spice route. I'll put it this way: mass processing and a lack of service staff. The prices are hefty and the quality is simply subterranean. The best is the Argentinian rump steak, I wonder where the chef learned his craft. Not recommended.

We used to enjoy eating at the.Kartoffelhaus, but will probably avoid it in the future. The restaurant no longer has anything to do with a “potato house”. Although there is a pretty good and extensive menu outside, in reality there are only a few of these dishes. You can't even order a baked potato. The dishes on offer are also very expensive - as are the drinks, especially the wine, which is of questionable quality. The atmosphere no longer seems inviting either. Too bad!

The food was once so good Schnitzel Au Four. Now that was canteen level! Haven't been here for 2 years now! I'm already sad! You should hire a new chef! Waiter super nice. There is no longer a salad plate either, I won't be coming back. It won't work like that.

After 15 years, I wanted to give the potato house another chance. Then, as now, it was a disaster because the food was served on dirty plates. Back in the potato house today, I discovered that NOTHING had changed!!! changed and was completely disappointed again. Overall the food was a disaster. My potato casserole arrived cold, and when I returned it to be reheated, it was served to me a second time - again cold and soggy. Absolutely inedible! The potato rösti was also a disappointment: probably frozen, and this for a restaurant that specializes in potato dishes. A solution to the problems or at least an apology from the staff? None! There was no accommodation whatsoever, neither from the service nor from the kitchen. After this visit, I unfortunately cannot recommend the potato house to anyone!!!!

Food was cold not a good condition

Despite bad reviews, we tried the restaurant and found it very cozy and satisfying. We reserved the table for 5 p.m. on a Sunday. The food was delicious, the music was pleasant and the staff was friendly. We'd love to come back.

After years we went back to eat at the Halle Potato House. I have to say I and my companions are unfortunately very disappointed compared to back then. If nothing changes in terms of the long wait for drinks and food then we will cancel this restaurant from our list.

We had our Christmas party in this restaurant on Saturday. We were 14 people. It was very crowded. We sometimes waited 30 minutes for our drinks every time we ordered! Even after asking several times, we were always put off. Of course, that's anything but nice for a Christmas party. Food was okay, although the potato soup had nothing to do with potato soup (even the waitress said "the soup looks darker than usual" 🙈). Since the drinks were still bad even after 2 hours, we stopped and changed the restaurant. Too bad. Perhaps one should assume that there are a few fewer reservations here so that the quality and service do not suffer.

Got a group ticket with little choice. When we asked what was wrong with the correct card, we were told that it was their new card. Food waited for well over an hour then the main course came and they completely forgot about our starter. 4. Now to eat Schnitzel ou four with peas and cold fried potatoes (potatoes were not fried properly, peas had no taste and a mix of peas from lunch and fresh ones) Chicken breast too dry 120g for 20€ Price performance missed. We wanted to speak to the operator but unfortunately he didn't come. We were here for the last time. And a little advice: I would rather have 50 satisfied guests than 100 dissatisfied ones

I would give 0 points! If all the guests squeeze in, they are completely overwhelmed and cannot perform! Point. We waited over 2 hours for our food and only half of it came. They really shouldn't take so many guests if they can't manage it! I won't go there again!

We registered for dinner on Sunday afternoon with 13 people and arrived. The waitress told us at the beginning which dishes from the reduced group menu were no longer available. These were 10 of the 19 dishes offered. How a restaurant can no longer have dumplings, red cabbage, fish, poultry, bread, etc. is a mystery to us. Most of it isn't made a la minute. It was an imposition and the evening business hadn't even started yet! The friendly waitress tried to explain and limit the damage and was not to be envied in this position! Unfortunately we won't be coming back! P.S. the food we received was fine.

As an excuse, a cook and a service person were said not to have come. Then I have to block a few tables or at least say so because it's taking longer to eat today. Then in one dish the fried potatoes were only lukewarm. Was taken back and brought back a short time later. Fried potatoes just as lukewarm. Filet was tough as a shoe sole and was definitely not fillet. We had farmer's breakfast twice. One looked good and the second one was just fine after I picked up the burnt onions and bacon bits. Pork medallions were also too salty. All in all, unfortunately a bad evening with bad service and bad food.

Had reservations for Saturday evening. It was our first visit to the restaurant and probably our last. Ambiance takes some getting used to, from modern to rustic, but that's a matter of taste and not that important. Since there is nothing positive to report, I can only say what makes us refrain from another visit. Let's start with the starter, the solyanka. In terms of taste, this was the best dish today, even if lemon and a dollop of cream were missing. But after an hour of waiting, it's no longer exciting. Of the 7 different main courses, 4 were too salty. I was surprised that you get the same ready-made sauce for dishes with beef and pork and two other dishes. The red cabbage is al dente in a slimy sauce with hints of burnt. However, the dumpling was delicious. Bacon beans can only be identified by their green color, otherwise you could easily think you are biting into pretzel sticks. The farmer's breakfast, also richly flavored with the mineral salt, was more porridge than anything else. The hottest thing, however, was the baked potato! Unlike wine, a potato doesn't get better with age! The mushy, musty-smelling thing called a potato was garnished with a herb quark from the discount store. One can argue about the taste of the ambience. Everyone has a different feeling. However, the scent on the way to the toilet is peppered with a note of human organic matter. Sealed packages of meat and ready-made products in the shopping cart strongly suggest that the food here is really fresh from the supermarket. I'm sorry, but at least today it was nothing!

My friends arrived a few minutes later. Your drink requests were taken and then forgotten. After we had the food later, no one bothered to look after us anymore. It took over 10 minutes until a service person looked up and noticed our next wishes. We ordered dessert and something to drink. Dessert came after another 10 minutes. Not the drinks. After another 10 minutes we paid and were told that the drinks were now (!) ready. I was not satisfied with the service. Food was okay. Price/performance not quite the same.

We had long pre-ordered for 10 people. It took the first 35 minutes to place a drink order. Then it was time to wait. After another 30 minutes the drinks came. The restaurant was full of guests at the time and a waiter was bustling from table to table. After 1.5 hours the young man came to take our food order. Again it was time to wait. After 1 hour 10 minutes the food came. Of the 10 meals, 2 were completely returned because they were not edible. The rest went like this...meat lukewarm, fried potatoes not fried, vegetables burnt. We really have to praise the young man who took the orders. He was really stressed and still stayed cool and had kind words for everyone. I have no idea whether the sickness rate is too high or there is simply a lack of staff, that's not how restaurants work.

With the change of ownership in 2023, the restaurant has definitely won. The menu is varied and creative, the service was super friendly and accommodating, the food was very tasty and the wine on offer was also great. We'll definitely be back! Many many thanks. :-)

The food here is highly recommended, not a long wait and very friendly service (here the boss also serves himself). When it comes to starters, the breaded champions with garlic dip are absolutely great. The ambience is also appropriate. We would love to come back here.

We had previously ordered a table for 12 people for a class reunion. Unfortunately only 6 people came, the rest canceled at short notice due to illness. There were no questions from the staff or that we should have let them know in advance. Food was great. Just a little mishap. Staff friendly, always had a kind word. Asked if everything was okay - without it being too intrusive. To our credit, we were able to stay seated until 12:00 a.m. and still order, even though it would have finished at 10:30 p.m. Thank you very much for the evening and good luck and fun.

The service took a long time, the food was lukewarm, the portions were okay, the ambience was okay and nothing special. There was no attempt to respond to the customer and the waitress only cleared half of it and after 20 minutes we went to the front ourselves because no waitress came to finish clearing away.

Were there with 7 people. Reservation worked, but we sat at a very shaky table. The staff was extremely overwhelmed, apparently all of them were temporary workers. Every course makes you slim seems to be the motto. Everything is brought individually, the quality of the food was not worthy of a restaurant. Zero seasoning, the rump steak was fried to death even though it was ordered medium, the deep fryer urgently needs new oil because the fried mushrooms had the corresponding aftertaste. The Radler apparently used 90% beer and 10% Sprite, tasted zero. After we had finished eating, we sat in front of the plates for ages, even when I paid the bill, the plates weren't cleared away but my empty glass was... no question from the staff as to whether everything was OK or anything like that. Unfortunately very disappointing!

We were there on Saturday at the best time. 8 adults and 2 children. Let's start with the fact that 1 meal was completely forgotten - pork medallions with croquettes and mushrooms: the meat inside was raw, a complaint was made, the same plate / portion came back, meat was still not cooked through. During this time the mushrooms on the plate have become cold. We continued with, vegetarian fish 🤦‍♂️ Redfish with mashed potatoes and broccoli was ordered. It has to be said, the FISH was forgotten. When asked “Where is the fish”, the plate was returned and the fish still had to be fried. How can you forget the main ingredient in a meal? What can we say, the same plate/portion came back, plate was hot, thank you for not letting us know, but broccoli had gotten cold. Luckily we ordered large drinks, otherwise we would have died of thirst here too. The waitress has to come and ask/look more often. Would have liked to drink more and order dessert. I would be very grateful for feedback from the owner on the subject of food, there was no feedback on this in the evening. No further visits are necessary.

Unfortunately not worth a second visit for us. The first thing we were told was that 2 main courses and 2 desserts were sold out. Normally not a problem. But it was Saturday 4:30 p.m. In addition, there were only 3 desserts on the menu. The men enjoyed the farmer's breakfast. Our baked potatoes were very small for the price and the quark that came with them was very economical. Very disappointing for just under 13 euros. The atmosphere wasn't comfortable either The staff was very nice. But all in all, no comparison to the potato house in Wittenberg.

Today for our birthday we went to the potato house. We ordered three schnitzels with fried potatoes and potato wedges. Unfortunately the potatoes in all dishes were raw. After complaining, the potatoes were fried, but were still not cooked. In addition, the schnitzels on the corresponding plates were not only not re-prepared, but also swapped. The food itself was delicious and the service was very friendly and accommodating. However, in my opinion it is not appropriate to serve two fried eggs as a replacement for the mushrooms and to charge extra for them. A better solution could certainly have been found here, or it could have been pointed out that the schnitzel without mushrooms but with a fried egg would be a thirty euro item. Despite the size, more than inappropriate. We weren't aware of the pricing policy, but unfortunately we ran quite aground.

We've really never experienced anything like that! In August, when it was 30 degrees, there was no sign of being “fully air-conditioned” (as stated on the shop door). There was no air here at all, let alone pleasant temperatures. The ambience seems inviting, but at second glance it is unfortunately not fully implemented in the store; the walls in particular seemed cool and did not match the rest of the furnishings. I'm reluctant - but justified - to give a bad rating here. It's a real shame, as the south of Halle in particular only offers limited options for going out and there is wasted potential here.

Ambience was great, but that was it. Food was damn cheap for the price. It says air-conditioned on the door, but that wasn't the case, the food was delicious - we had ordered several starters - the service was strange, even before we got the menu, various dishes were listed to us that weren't available for various reasons weren't even on the menu - otherwise the restaurant was completely empty except for two other tables, but we were seated at a mini table from which we had to take the decorations down so that there was room for the plates

We ordered via Lieferando and the food came quite promptly. However, it was absolutely not okay for the price. The steak was completely fried to death, the chicken was quite dry, the fried potatoes were a mixture of raw and burnt but the schnitzel was quite tasty. And charging 62 euros for two dishes is quite steep. We won't order here again.

Positive things first: The food was tasty and the staff was OK. The ambience needs improvement. It seems cold and unfinished. It needs to be renovated. We didn't really feel comfortable. The apple spritzer was watery and way too cold. There were a lot of ice cubes in there that were probably supposed to fill the glass. I also found the prices too expensive. We won't come back.

We were there for dinner. Friendly but inexperienced staff. For example, our bottle of wine was not opened, and the bottle of water we ordered was also left unopened. Dear team from the Halle Potato House, We have often eaten at the Halle Potato House, but today we were unfortunately disappointed. When ordering the drinks, we were told that several dishes were no longer available, such as dumplings, salmon, rump steak and others. We would have expected more from the food we ordered for the high price. The fried potatoes were swimming in fat and the fries were also very greasy. Unfortunately, the second beer was only brought after the second request. Unfortunately we had to wait over half an hour for dessert and then we were informed that the cream was out and that the microwave was no longer suitable for the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, today was very disappointing and on the 12th wedding anniversary.

It no longer had anything to do with the old potato house. The service leaves a lot to be desired, as does the ambience, as five people were allowed to squeeze into a table of four, even though over half of the restaurant was unoccupied. Unfortunately, the food had no special characteristics, and I found the famous fly in the ointment in my mushrooms. For people who like neutrality in their food, this is the first stop in Halle. If various meals are not available on a Saturday, it is more than annoying. Unfortunately, a “nightcap” doesn’t help either. Never again.

I remember it from before and have to say that I'm a bit disappointed. The menu (at least the one we had) doesn't allow for much choice and the prices are, let's say, a bit steep for what's served. I used to prefer being here.

I ordered the Hallunkenschnitzel (XXL) from UberEats. Since I took advantage of a 2 for 1 offer, the price was okay for me. Without this special offer I would have paid €51.90, which would not be justified in any way. In my opinion, €15 for a portion should be the maximum price for this dish. In my comments I pointed out that the mushrooms can be left out as I really don't like eating them (shame on my head). Unfortunately, they were still there and I'm a little annoyed about the food waste. But enough complaining now. The food came quickly, was the perfect temperature and was incredibly tasty. Since I assume that my comments were overlooked, that I just paid this price and can't rate things that are only hypothetical, I'm giving it a full 5 stars. But above all because the operator really seems to be making an effort by commenting on all the reviews and also taking on board the criticism. Keep it up! :)

Went to the restaurant for dinner with my daughter. Had a very nice evening with good food. The waiter was very attentive and accommodating. The portions were very large and tasted good. I had (as you can see in the picture) the schnitzel potato house with potato coating, beans and fried potatoes. Highly recommended!

We had a larger group of 25 people here. Apparently the service wasn't prepared for that. The drinks came way too fun and unsorted. The food was definitely not worth the price (potatoes were several days old, fish was burnt, sauces were very sachet-heavy). The toilets were dirty and there was no paper. Our table was no longer served after 9 p.m. because they apparently wanted to get off work on time. For us, the last time we were here

A great restaurant with very good food and very friendly service. We ordered a buffet for the youth consecration and were completely satisfied. In addition, we were able to easily take the remaining food home with us. Gladly again at any time!

One star is one too many here! You cannot offer the food to a guest. Half of it is frozen or canned. Calling up these prices for that is a bit cheeky. The waitress can't get it out of there! After a year, the owner has an epiphany and is of the opinion that this review violates his personal rights!? He has to get rid of this epiphany in a complaint to Google. Simply ridiculous and once again proof of how negative reviews are handled here No response to negative review! Zero understanding! And all negative reviews reflect the average! So nothing will change. And if the negative reviews increase, then I should work on my concept and fix the errors that were raised. But no, it's easier to remain below average and instead complain to Google and try to use your personal rights, which are supposedly violated, to get rid of the negative reviews. Just poor and just below average!

Two years ago we had the pleasure of eating at the potato house. Back then, the Halunkenschnitzel (XXL), as it says on the menu, was really XXL. Today it was rather medium, the Champion cream sauce back then was rather bland and straight out of a bucket. Fried potatoes are called fried potatoes because they are supposed to be fried. These were just near a frying pan and so soaked in oil that they were just greasy. Very very disappointing for the price. Never again.

We have been there again for 2 years, ordered the scoundrel schnitzel twice according to the XXL menu (yes it used to be) fried potato portion was very clear back then and they only saw the pan for a short oil bath, there was no service from clearing things up to refilling drinks !! It's a shame, it's much better!!

Leider kein Vergleich mehr zu früher. Unfreundliche Bedienung, und das Essen macht jede Imbissbude besser. Sehr sehr schade. Wir werden hier nicht mehr essen gehen.

Had dinner on Easter Monday and I have to say we all enjoyed it. Kudos to the kitchen and the staff, well the equipment can be improved.
