Delicious aspic. Very friendly waiter. Reasonable prices.

An absolute MUST-DO when in Halle. A traditional inn with 45 years of history. If there were 10 points to give for the service, food, and ambiance, we would. We always enjoy coming back.

In short, it's very, very tasty. Generous portions, delicious home-brewed beer, excellent service, and all at a very reasonable price.

In any case, you can have a great meal there. There's so much on the plate that a senior citizen's portion would have been enough for me. The atmosphere is lovely, with chairs labeled with names that celebrities have supposedly sat on. For me, it was Gunter Gabriel. The service leaves nothing to be desired. There's also a lovely beer garden. We felt completely at home.

So, first of all, I celebrated my birthday on April 5th and it was awesome. I even got a table for tomorrow at short notice. The staff was super friendly, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend it... Greetings to the chef, see you tomorrow.

We first tried the restaurant with enthusiasm and then visited it again with our group. It was no one-night stand: We can only rate the quality of the food, service, and ambiance as very good. However, I would set the price for a 3L beer at around €25 to create an incentive for groups. We'd be happy to come back!

It was nice to finally find a good restaurant serving German cuisine. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The menu had a good selection. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful, huge. The Königsberger Klopse (meatballs), schnitzel, and aspic were very tasty, especially the aspic with fried potatoes, which I added with vinegar and oil! So many famous guests have been to the restaurant that we were happy to join them 😀. We can happily recommend the restaurant. We felt very comfortable. There are no photos, just go and enjoy. Back here after a year. We received excellent service, ate very well, and felt at home again.

Yes, Schad's restaurant has always been good

Operation and service was great, there was nothing to complain about. On the contrary, we were looked after in a friendly and timely manner: the team at the counter and in the galley was well organized. The food looked good and tasted just as good, which makes you happy. The house beer also tasted good on the tongue, so our visit will be remembered fondly. I deducted one star from the ambience, as I think there is still room for improvement. Otherwise a place to feel good, thanks to the Schad team!

Service OK. Waiting 45 minutes for the main course is simply too long. You will also be informed that you have only waited 40 minutes. That is also too long. I can also spend my money elsewhere. Schnitzel OK, served with fries and strange tasting mayonnaise, the 2nd beer was forgotten and brought after I asked twice. Tafelspitz is delicious. Conclusion: you can but I don't have to.

Discovered during the visit not far on foot from the market square. The restaurant is an institution in Halle, has great service and a nice ambience. It's best to stop by the quiet little place there. Some prominent personalities have immortalized themselves along the way. When it came to eating, I decided on the homemade Königsberger meatballs. I went with a group of 15 people. The service was extremely slow. They put my plate for another person in the group and after 5 minutes they took it away from that person and put it on me!!! Also the food was overcooked. There are much better alternatives in Halle

This time I was personally very disappointed. Veggie burger made from vegetables cold and not really tasty. Service not really pleasant this time. Pass across the table and over other guests instead of walking around. Too bad. However, if you like schnitzel and fried food, this is the place for you.

I cannot understand the “rubber duck” rating. My duck was excellent: wonderfully juicy, flavorful and easy to remove from the bone. The red cabbage was also perfectly seasoned - not bland and pale, as is often the case elsewhere, but in a wonderfully shiny red color. We'd love to come back and wish the entire Schad team a merry Christmas!

We (4 dads and 4 children) were guests at Schad yesterday. We had reserved a table and were very pleased when we saw that preparations had already been made for our children (pencils and sheets to paint). Now to the essentials. My friends each ordered duck with kale and dumplings, and everyone was thrilled. My humble self treated myself to the very tasty “Steak au Four” (which I always eat there) and as always, I wasn’t disappointed ☺️ There is also a very good selection for the little ones and we were also impressed by the quantity. (€9.90 for a meal + drink + ice cream). The service was also very friendly and attentive 😎 We had a wonderful evening at Schad and are already looking forward to the next “daddy and child meal” together at Schad. So if you're looking for very good German cuisine, with a nice ambience and great service... Schad is the right place for you.

The duck was a “rubber eagle”. Only the outer parts, i.e. the leg, were good to eat. The duck could have cooked for another half hour. It can happen sometimes. It's just a shame that the complaint was handled unprofessionally: "We checked it and found it to be good." So if the meat doesn't come off the bone, but has to be cut into slices with great effort, then it's not a finished duck in a German restaurant... 5 euros discount. Ok but crossed off the list...
