Basically everything is great, but the prices are getting way too high and soon hardly anyone will be able to pay. A drink almost 6 euros is a rip off

A great restaurant with a nice beer garden. We were greeted very friendly and served quickly. The food was very good, we had zander. We'll be back!!

As a family of 12 people we registered for lunch at “Schad”. We were served very nicely and quickly and the food was plentiful and very tasteful. We can only recommend the restaurant: great service with very nice and attentive waiters, very well prepared, and delicious food and a nice ambience.

Good bourgeois and plentiful dishes, including horse meat, something for everyone. 600 km is always worth it if you want to end your visit to Halle on a proper note. Returned to the “new” location after 22 years. Reserved by email without any problems. Ambience typical of a brewery. Unfortunately no more beer of our own. Good, clear menu of dishes, very good selection of drinks. Home cooking is recommended. Friendly staff. If we're in the area, it's worth considering going back there.

We are excited. We were there today and were not disappointed. Super nice staff and the guest room is rustic. The food was more than plentiful and delicious. A little tip... don't eat anything before visiting the "Zum Schad" inn. ;-). We will definitely be back and would be happy to recommend them to others. A 1***** in everything!!!!!!!

I can only highly recommend it. 1a service, delicious food and drink. You should reserve a table for the evening. We were here at 5 p.m. and the tavern wasn't that busy yet. Became more crowded every hour. So if you happen to be at Hallmarkt for whatever reason, you shouldn't miss this place.

Not a restaurant for people with stomach problems, famished people or anything else. But the quality does justice to both, good home cooking. So: great.

We were there with a party of 14 people. Unfortunately we were not offered a place inside. It is very loud and dusty outside on the street at lunchtime. The food was very tasty but hard to eat because there was too much and the prices were high. Maybe you should reduce the portions with the price, because 2 schnitzels are probably not necessary with asparagus or as schnitzel Hawai.

The overall concept is just right.

Wir würden sehr freundlich empfangen und es war kein Problem, dass wir für vier Personen nicht reserviert hatten. Der Service war sehr freundlich, jedoch nicht aufdringlich - hatte jedoch alles im Blick. Das Essen war sehr lecker, von der Vorspeise über den Hauptgang bis zum Nachtisch.

Service top, food delicious, mainly good home-style German cuisine. Location very nice. We like going to Schad for family celebrations, there are enough large tables, the menu has something for everyone and I like how child-friendly it is. From high chairs to seat cushions to painting materials, everything is there. In summer you can sit outside nicely.

So that's true about the chairs and all I can say about the food is that it's really tasty and the portions are enough for a heavy eater... So we can only recommend company celebrations like we had there, there's nothing more to add🤗🤗

We weren't disappointed in the slightest, the food was great and very tasty. "I've eaten a lot of stuffed meat, but never anything this good," my friend said and ate everything on the plate. The pork loin was tender and juicy, I would happily eat it again. Big compliment to the kitchen! After toasting with the staff, we were each given a pest to try for free, very tasty. It was my friend's birthday, everyone congratulated him and there was a small fireworks display. Happy Birthday was also played. We will come again, we are very enthusiastic, don't forget to reserve a table the weekend before.

We were here on Holy Saturday. We were very excited. The staff is very friendly and simply confident. The food is so tasty and the portions are very sufficient. I think it's always a measure of the kitchen when seemingly simple things like brawn and fried potatoes are super tasty. That was the case here. I also recommend the potato soup and the lamb fillet. They're a dream. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. And the prices are more than fair. And for the children there is a menu to color in and crayons so they don't get bored while waiting for their food. This was certainly not our last visit.

The food was really good...however I have to say we had a reservation for 7.30 we were there 5 minutes early and they gave us the table at 7.50 and that is unexpected for such a level restaurant!

First of all, I would like to praise the great and friendly service staff. The food is okay - but too expensive for the quality and type of food. I know everything will be more expensive, but nothing, regardless. Unfortunately I didn't get the fried potatoes I ordered with the schnitzel, but instead something burnt and fried to death, which doesn't even resemble fries. Admittedly, when I told the waiter this, he took a beer off my bill afterwards, which I really liked and tolerated. Now let's assume that the food would have been absolutely great and I would have gotten what I ordered. However, I find the atmosphere much too loud, comparable to a train station lobby. As an individual you don't feel comfortable there, but as a group you can have a nice evening, I'm sure.

Absolute recommendation!! I was there on business as part of a larger group. The service was very friendly, humorous, attentive and fast! Stylish and comfortable atmosphere. We sat in a separate area that was very nicely decorated. And about the food: wow! The quality is top class. Always a vegetable side dish, really beautifully presented, and the portions are bigger than I've experienced in a very long time. However, the prices are equivalent 😬. Nonetheless, I definitely have to try the rest of the dishes. Extra bonus: Bayreuther Hell on tap! Thanks for that 🤤

Just managed to get 2 spots! Prompt and empathetic service. Our rosé wine and soon the food were immediately in front of us. Very good - hand peeled potatoes... Special request: conjured up affogato! We would love to come back.

If you love German cuisine, great service and a rustic atmosphere, this is the place for you. For me, here in Halle, my first port of call when I want to enjoy the things mentioned above. It's worth making a reservation because it's always busy. :)

Rustikaler Gasthof mit Ambiente und guter Küche.

Es war sehr schön da, Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen.

Das Haus in Halle können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist urig und echt. Der Service freundlich und flink. Wir hatten perfekt abgeschmecktes und gratiniertes Würzfleisch, eine halbe Ente, die sehr fleischig und knusprig war. Das Rindergulasch war köstlich und auf den Punkt gegart. Alles in allem ein sehr schönes Gasthaus. Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

Sehr leckereres Essen, urige Gaststätte, nette Bedienung und es war sehr gemütlich.

Absolute Empfehlung. Es gab von uns nichts auszusetzen. Der Service war super. Das Lokal urisch einladend. Die Speisen waren erste Klasse. Man zuckt erstmal kurz bei den Preisen die sich im oberen Mittelfeld befinden. Sobald man aber die Portionen sieht ist das aber schnell verflogen. Wenn wir mal wieder in Halle sind werden wir das Schad definitiv wieder besuchen.

Das erste Mal im Shad...: Na, ich hatte gestern Abend nur ein einfaches Essen. Lachs mit Meerrettich und Rösti. Trotzdem sehr gut arrangiert und lecker 👍🙂. Und wen man in diesem Restaurant alles antreffen kann... Es waren schon viele prominente Gäste da. Die sich am Tisch oder Stuhl verewigt haben. Meine Empfehlung 👍👍👍, auch für die netten Herren und Damen, die dich schnell und gut bewirten...

war das erste mal dort, wir waren als Gruppe dort, das Essen super lecker 6 Sterne.., danke an den Koch .. sehr nette Bedienung .... uns sind zwei Gläser zerbrochen ....der Kellner war total tiefen entspannt ...also ich werde dort wieder einkehren...

War hier zum ersten Mal und fand es super angenehm. Essen war Top und für Getränkenachschub wurde immer gesorgt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Alles Topp! Ein Muss während eines Besuchs in Halle!

Uriges, gemütliches Gasthaus wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Hier passt alles zusammen. Eigentlich reichen 5 Sterne nicht aus, da solche eine Gastfreundschaft, der damit verbundene Service und die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke heutzutage nicht mehr so selbstverständlich ist. Wir waren gestern mit 15 Personen hier, alle waren satt und glücklich. Danke lieber Hauke, an dich und dein Team👍👍👍

The worst place I were in my last years. Waiters were very arrogount. They did not approve my four different kind of international cards which all worked in next place. I have a proof. So, for me they were blackmailing my cash and I have to pay in cash even, if I had enough funds on my four different cards which all worked in next place. So, they just wanted my cash!!! I had cash, but. It was already a situation of principality. To avoid a police, I paid cash and wenf to the next place where all cards worked. Still, i did not like their attitude that I am stupid, if four of my international cards are not working and they are the best servants. Therefore, the least estimation for attitude to me. Even, if I had enough founds by cards and by cash, I was showed like I were without money trying to eat. They even did not apologised! Exactly my point. I got four internationally functional (Master and VISA) cards. They work properly in any other place in Halle and in any other place in the world, but somehow they did both work in your place. I made four purchases in the next bar to prove it (checks are still with me)! So cards work. I can understand misuseof one card, but four different cards. It means that error was in tour system and unability to handle it, only by demanding from me cash was not tolerated for me. Its about your system which did not work and about your attitude, how you handled it. It eas really insulting!!!!

Ein muss wenn man in Halle ist. Eine Reservierung im voraus ist zu empfehlen. Essen ist super lecker, sehr reichlich und ein 1A Service. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente sehr gemütlich. Ich vergebe 6 von 5 Sternen. Wir kommen wieder. :)

Wir sind am Samstag spontan, ohne Vorreservierung, eingekehrt. Es war echt viel los. Das nette Personal hat uns trotzdem sehr freundlich in Empfang genommen und uns einen Tisch zugewiesen, mit dem Hinweis das wie mehr Zeit einplanen sollten da es ja gut gefüllt war. Die Getränkewünsche waren schnell aufgenommen und auch für freundlichen Smalltalk war noch Zeit. Die Wartezeit aufs Essen empfanden wir gar nicht so lange. Zu den Speisen können wir nur sagen...Spitzenklasse..wir hatten verschiedene Schnitzelgerichte und einen Salat. Alle waren völlig begeistert. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder...Danke ans Serviceteam für ihre freundliche Art und den tollen Service!

So tolle Hausmannkost haben wir wirklich lange nicht gehabt. Es war einfach super hier. Und der Service war absolut klasse. Aufmerksam, mit viel Charme und Witz und nicht übertrieben aufdringlich. Danke für den tollen Abend bei euch!

War mit Kind dort und das wollte gern Nudeln mit Tomatensoße. Nudeln stehen auf der Kinderkarte, Tomatensoße nicht. Was aber für ein Restaurant mit Koch kein Problem sein dürfte. War nicht möglich. Ich bin noch etwas sprachlos. Die Karte für Erwachsene ist mittlerweile nur noch eine Papierunterlage, wirkt etwas "billig". Inhaltlich war die Karte OK. Ich hatte den letzten Besuch vor zwei Jahren besser in Erinnerung. Die Einrichtung des Restaurants ist sehr schön, das sollte ruhig noch erwähnt werden.

Ich habe meinem Mann und seinen Geschwistern Halle gezeigt und wir verbrachten als Abschluss des Tages einen super Abend hier. Wir waren so begeistert, dass wir gleich noch einen Tisch für den nächsten Abend bestellt haben. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und einfach souverän. Das Essen ist sowas von lecker und die Portionen sehr ausreichend. Ich finde es ist immer einen Gradmesser für die Küche, wenn vermeindlich einfache Sachen wie Schnitzel und Bratkartoffeln super lecker sind. Das war hier der Fall - bestätigt das Schnitzeltül der Familie. ;-) Das Ambiente ist urig und gemütlich. Dass am Ende auch der Chef ein liebes Wort und eine herzliche Verabschiedung übrig hat - Gästeherz was willst du mehr?

wer nicht im schad war, war nicht in halle! einfach grandios: überhaupt in einem solch einmaligen museum dinieren zu dürfen, ist schon eine gnade! dann aber auch noch so zuvorkommend bedient und mit kulinarischen genüssen verwöhnt zu werden, ... und dann auch noch so ein leckeres hausbier dazu! ein unvergesslicher abend, uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!!! ach ja: unbedingt reservieren (wir waren an einem donnerstag kurz nach sieben da und haben - zum glück! - noch so grad den letzten freien tisch bekommen; danach ging nichts mehr.)!

Wir kommen aus dem Norden und sind im Schad gelandet . Mittlerweile waren wir zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten vor Ort . Begeisterung erweckt das sehr schöne Ambiente der Location. Das schöne Fassadenbild und die Aussenanlage laden zum verweilen ein. Die Bedienung war immer zuvorkommend , höflich und sehr freundlich . Das Essen ist AAA*** . Wir kommen gern wieder .
