The food was so-so. Chicken meat frozen goods. I had the impression that they don't cook fresh here and rely on convenience products. Ambiance OK. Service ok, no special service but friendly.

Sauce was forgotten. Far too little meat, but three kilos of chilies. Please do not offer the pick-up service if you cannot manage it.

Everyone is eating, and the mapo tofu is amazing. It is delicious and delicious. I will come again next time!

We had to ask for service ourselves for the order, for chopsticks and bowls. The dumplings were too thick and tasted watery. We should have avoided the bedside table (too sweet ice cream, sprayed cream and unripe fruit). When the restaurant is full it is very noisy.

As a native of Shanghai, I was brought here to dine here by my German family. The environment decoration is very good. In the "Female Workers Square", the restaurant was named after Chairman Mao's "women hold up half the sky". The dishes we ordered are basically authentic. The eggplant was pretty good. But the lemon fish in golden soup is no good. I really don’t recommend it. The fish doesn’t taste good and the soup is getting spicier. I don’t like the curry chicken either. The waiters are all kind. At that time, there were two children sitting next to me. They were running around and making noise, which was very annoying. Indeed, you can only see children like this in Chinese restaurants (Chinese mothers only say, NO NO, but never do it or use actions to stop their children's behavior). I will never go to a Chinese restaurant. If you want to feel the exact atmosphere, you can go. In addition, the restaurant prices are indeed expensive.

Das Restaurantdesign ist modern-neutral, wenig chinesisch. Wir hatten das Pekingenten-Menü. Variante mit Orangensoße (ab 4 Personen). Die knusprige Entenhaut mit Pfannkuchen war gut, nur das beigefügte Gemüse etwas hart. Suppe gut. Die geröstete Ente lecker. Portionen reichlich. Zum Abschluss Sesam-Eis mit Lychees. Ganz ok. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Da drei Punkte die Note befriedigend ergeben, kann ich leider nur zwei vergeben, denn unser Besuch war nicht befriedigend. Vor zwei Wochen las ich einen begeisterten Bericht in der Zeitung über das bereits lange bestehende Hauptrestaurant, die von den Brüdern eröffneten Ableger sollten mit identischer Philosophie geführt werden, also wählten wir das näher Gelegene. Wir fanden ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente vor. Obwohl das Lokal schwach besetzt war, teilte man uns einen Tisch neben einem mit 10 Personen besetzten Tisch zu, entsprechend laut war es. Wir haben uns umsetzen lassen. Wir hatten vorher übersehen, dass das eigentlich vorgesehene Pekingentenmenü für zwei Personen keine Geröstete Ente im Hauptgang enthielt, die gibt es nur für drei oder vier Personen. Also haben wir uns für sehr leckere Riesengarnelen in Tempura als Vorspeise entschieden und uns ein Gericht mit gerösteter Ente empfehlen lassen. Sie sollte kross sein. Das war sie dann nicht. Die im Chinalokal übliche Zwergentenbrusthälfte kam in einem Liter Glutamatfertigsauce schwimmend mit einigen darin gar gezogenen Shiitakepilzen auf den Tisch, wäre die Haut vor dem Servieren kross gewesen, wäre das in der Flüssigkeitsmenge wahrscheinlich schnell untergegangen, sie war aber auch vorher erkennbar nicht kross. Wir hatten authentische Küche erhofft, unser Essen war hoffentlich weit davon entfernt. Was von vier verschiedenen Servicekräften serviert wurde war dafür sehr teuer. Für diese Art Essen zu teuer! Sehr schade!

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Germany (we live far away in Stuttgart). One of the best dishes is the Shui Zhu Niu Rou, which is combined with qualitativ beef. Amazing are also the possible wine pairings and the interior design.

Had fried noodles and a salad with Chinese pickled mushrooms, slightly spicy, never eaten before. Both absolutely delicious. Service super fast and polite. You can sit comfortably outside. Clear recommendation!

False expectations raised. After reading a very good review in the Hamburger Abendblatt, we were very curious and reserved a table to try some of the many interesting dishes that were announced on the website. When we arrived at the restaurant, a waiter, more or less friendly and completely disinterested, assigned us a table and brought us a drinks menu and a flyer with food to go. We were immediately very surprised because we were expecting a menu, because the to-go flyer only offered a fraction of what was offered to us on the restaurant's website the same day before our visit. The main highlights were missing from this flyer and when I asked the waiter, who had to search in the huge, empty shop, I was told that the other items would no longer be available. When I pointed out that the menu on the website was different, no regret was expressed or any explanation was given. The complete disinterest and indifference of the non-existent service then made us leave the restaurant and go to the neighboring Tibet restaurant, where we were served in a friendly and competent manner and ate very well. We are still amazed at so much ignorance and ask ourselves why you can't update a website so that false expectations are not raised and then no one even cares. Unfortunately you can't give less than one star. Luckily there are so many great alternatives in our beautiful city and next time I will go to Man Wah on the Reeperbahn again if I want to eat authentic Chinese.

This place was a super solid experience. The service was helpful and fast. The food was tasty and very filling. We were recommended the Peking duck which we did the 4 course option. It was lovely. Would definitely recommend and do it again ourselves. As we speak I’m still extremely full so if you’re doing the 4 courses maybe don’t order too much more than that.

Prices high but the portion size makes up for it. The two of us paid €50 and had so many leftovers that we had a full meal at home! It was incredibly delicious. It was very worth it.

Half the Sky is a true gem among Chinese restaurants in Hamburg. The food is authentically Chinese, fine and perfectly balanced. Even demanding gourmets will get their money's worth here. The staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating, making the visit a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Particularly noteworthy is the restaurant's beautiful and dignified interior. It creates a perfect atmosphere for business meals and other special occasions. I always enjoy coming here and am completely satisfied every time. For me, Half the Sky is definitely in the top 5 of the best restaurants in Hamburg. Highly Recommended!

The taste is good but the price is too expensive. The boiled fish feels like half a fish. The ones sold by foreigners for lunch are more than 10 euros. A cup of beer costs 7.50, which is really expensive. After all, a bottle of ordinary beer in the supermarket only costs 1 euro.

I have been to dozens of Chinese restaurants in Europe, large and small, and Half the Sky is relatively new and high-end. It even has its own Lolo design, and it is not as old, dark and greasy as traditional Chinese restaurants. This store is built next to a new residential area, giving it a relaxing feeling of tranquility amidst the bustle. The food tastes pretty good, but overall it's on the salty side. I highly recommend the dry pot pig's trotters.

Food is good, one of the most tasty Chinese restaurant in Hamburg. I just feel sorry for waitress there, it is surprisingly that such a fancy restaurant does not have a calculator, and the waitress does not know how to do calculations for separating a bill… she said we have to calculate by ourselves how much each of us need to pay, and we just wanted to separate equally. The owner must be very nice to hire so uneducated employees! Just a comment to the kind owner, maybe spend 2 euro to buy a calculator and teach waitress how to use it, it can improve customers’ experience a lot!

I ordered three dishes. The spiciness of pig's feet is abnormal. I had diarrhea that night and my stomach was still growling the next morning. It is not recommended to order spicy pork trotters. Pork intestines and chicken are not bad. Service is OK. When we went out to eat, there were very few people in the restaurant.

The young staff are enthusiastic and provide considerate service. ‼ ️ I originally wanted to give it 5🌟, but an older aunt had a very poor service attitude and treated Chinese and Germans differently, so I reduced it by 2🌟. It is strongly recommended that this aunt work in the kitchen or be responsible only for the German dishes. Don't let her young colleagues who work hard to lower the hotel's rating because of her alone take the blame for her.

Schlechter Service, lange Wartezeiten auf das Essen. Das Essen war mittelmäßig, weil kaum richtig gewürzt und dafür extrem teuer. Man kann in manchen Asia Imbiss für die Hälfte deutlich besser essen als dort - dass muss ich einfach ganz ehrlich sagen. Ich hatte Ente mit Ananas, und es war mehr Show als alles andere. Eine halbe Ananas wurde ausgehöhlt geliefert und geschnittene Entenvrust obendrauf serviert. Die Sauce in der ausgehöhlten Ananas Hälfte war leider eine glibbrige, klare Sauce, die nur nach Ananas und Süßstoff schmeckte. Ich habe unter authentischer chinesischer Küche etwas anderes für den Preis erwartet. Noch dazu mussten wir extrem lange auf unser Essen warten, obwohl viel Personal da war und um 17:00 nur wenige Gäste.

We could have easily pan-fried the salmon at home on our own. The menu promises much more than what ends up on the plate. I expected something different for authentic Chinese cuisine for the price. In addition, we had to wait an extremely long time (around 25-30 minutes) for our food, even though there were a lot of staff there and only a few guests at 5 p.m. The great interior design promises more than it ultimately contains. I invited my friends over for dinner and was therefore very disappointed that none of us really enjoyed the dishes... the visit cost €90

Great Chinese, with lots of authentic dishes. The four of us ate this today, Easter Monday, and it was very tasty and great Chinese food. We had the introductory menu for €37 with various salads, dimsum (starters) and 3 main courses, and a desert at the end. First there was a wonton soup to start. Then pickled cucumbers, a spicy salad and pickled morels, and spicy beef slices! Then half a duck with bones, very tender and crispy skin. A chicken baked in spicy sauce with vegetables and cashew nuts, and sweet and sour pork. Everything prepared very tasty. Finally, a crème brulee, with fruits such as physialis and apple and grapes. Price performance is fair, there is also upscale Chinese cuisine! In addition to Half the Sky, the 3 Chen brothers also run NI HAO, Copperhaus and Yu Garden in Hamburg, so they are professionals! Im Verlauf eines Spazierganges durch Altona waren wir im Restaurant Half the Sky. Wir haben uns durch die schlechten Bewertungen nicht abschrecken lassen, und das war gut so. Denn preislich waren die Gerichte der Mittagskarte im normalen Rahmen, im SChnitt 12€ incl. Vorgericht. Die Qualität der Speisen hervorragend und reichlich bemessen. Die Bewirtung sehr herzlich, freundlich und schnell. Das Restaurant modern, gemütlich , viel Platz. Bei wärmerem Wetter kann man in Altonas Neuer Mitte auch wunderbar draußen sitzen. Wir kommen wieder und sprechen eine Empfehlung aus.

Wundervoller Abend! Wir haben hier einen wirklich sehr schönen Abend verbracht. Alle haben das Essen, welches wirklich sehr gute, authentische chinesische Küche war, genossen. Da wir ein wenig Befürchtungen bezüglich des Services hatten. Haben wir das Essen für unsere 8 Personengrselkschaft am Tag vorher bestellt, dadurch lief der Service an unserem Tisch gut und reibungslos. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen. Vielen Dank.

Ich gehe hier ab und zu mit chinesischen Geschäftspartnern essen, weil das Essen wirklich authentische chinesische Küche ist, es eine chinesische Speisekarte gibt und die Bedienung auch Mandarin spricht. Das macht mein Leben dann einfacher. Die Leser, die öfters mit chinesischen Geschäftspartnern zu tun haben, werden sicherlich verstehen was ich meine. Wie gesagt ist das Essen authentisch und sehr gut. Aber es ist teuer. gestern für 3 Personen waren wir bei 160€ (5 Gerichte zum teilen, 4 Bier). Aber für das Essen würde ich 4 bis 5 Sterne geben. Aber der Service verdient NULL Sterne. Und das ist ein Dauerzustand, jedesmal wenn ich da bin ärgere ich mich über die komplette Ignoranz. das ist schlimmer als in jedem Baumarkt, die sind einfach nicht präsent. Gestern musste 10min (gestoppte, keine Übertreibung) warten, bis überhaupt ein Mitarbeiter in unsere Restauranthälfte kam und dann muss man Glück haben, das die Bedienung überhaupt reagiert. Spoiler: ich hatte kein Glück. Der extrem schlechte Service ist natürlich auch meinen chinesischen Geschäftspartnern aufgefallen. Ist also auch kein Kulturding. Schade, das könnte vielmehr.

Top presentation, very nice staff, fun for everyone. Top food, better than the well-known “Man Wha” restaurant in Hamburg. Large portions, the duck with bone top, dim sungs top, pork belly top, small ribs top. Only recommended! For 5 men only 150€ and there is still a lot left over.

Wir hatten einen köstlichen Abend im noch recht neuem chinesischen Restaurant. Das traditionelle Essen, darunter Ente, Hühnchen, Frühlingsrollen und gebackene Banane, war einfach köstlich. Die Bedienung war äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen wurde zügig serviert, und das moderne Ambiente trug zu einem rundum gelungenen Erlebnis bei. Die anderen negativen Bewertungen können wir so nicht nachvollziehen. Wir freuen uns bereits auf den nächsten Besuch 👍

Man sollte etwas Zeit mitbringen, aber das Warten lohnt sich, uns hat es wunderbar geschmeckt.

Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker. Leider war der Service sehr überlastet und brachte uns statt veganer Vorspeise die Fleischvariante. Es wurde zwar getauscht, doch erhielten wir nun nur 1 Portion anstatt 2. Wir hatten keine Lust zum Meckern, denn es war sehr voll, was in dieser großen Restauration mehr Personal erforderlich gemacht hätte. Wie gesagt, Essen sehr sehr lecker.

Ich habe noch nie so gerne kein Trinkgeld gegeben wie Heute! Wir hatten einen Tisch für zwei Personen. Der Service war absolut unterbesetzt. Unter diesen Unständen wäre eine Vorwarnung zur Begrüßung angebracht! Wir haben 25 Minuten Zeit bis unsere Bestellung überhaupt aufgenommen wurde. Weiter 50 Minuten bis die Vorspeise kam und erneut 35 Minuten danach endlich die Hauptspeise. So schön der Laden auch ist, so gut auch die Speisen sind, aber insgesamt sollten Kunden nicht ohne Hinweis einfach so sitzen gelassen werden. Ein Entgegenkommen wäre angebracht gewesen, oder zumindest auf eine Frage zu reagieren wenn der Gast sie stellt. Ist mir ein Rätsel wie soviel schöner Laden kaum Wert auf eine ordentliche Besetzung legt.und im Besten Fall wie Heute spricht sie auch kein Deutsch, oder schafft es komplett überfordert meiner Frage auszuweichen….irritierend! Also zum mitnehmen zum Mittagstisch weiterhin gerne! Tolles Essen, nette Atmosphäre, mangelhafter Service und extreme Wartezeiten.

Ich gebe 5 von 5 Sterne für das Essen und für das Ambiente. Für den Rest gibt es keine weitere Sterne da wir zunächst 30 min. auf die Bestellung warten mussten, obwohl die Reservierungen sehr überschaubar war. Es vergingen 25 Min. bis wir unsere Bestellung abgeben durften. Nachdem wir über 50 min. auf die Vorspeise gewartet hatten vergingen weitere 30 Min. bis dann unser Hautgang kam. Wir hatten freundlich gefragt, wann wir ungefähr mit unserem Essen rechnen können aber es kam leider keine Antwort zurück. Als Gast hätte ich erwartet, dass man eine Kleinigkeit zur Wartezeit evtl. ein Wasser zur Entschädigung bekommt, gerade dann, wenn man unterbesetzt ist. Gerade wenn man weiß, dass man unterbesetzt ist, wäre eine kleine Info an den Gast im Vorwege sehr hilfreich gewesen. Fazit: Gutes und leckeres Essen. Allerdings sollte an der Servicequalität gearbeitet werden. Wir waren zu zweit und hatten eine Rechnung in Höhe von 65€. Trinkgeld = 0,00€

Service war sehr nett, aber leider auch etwas überfordert: - wir waren eine Gruppe von 15 Leuten, Bestellungen wurden auch in Reihenfolge aufgenommen, aber als das Essen dann kam musste man trotzdem 4mal "HIER" schreien bis das richtige Essen auch bei einem ankam. - es wurde nach Sojasoße zur Vorspeise gefragt, kam dann leider erst nach 15 Minuten als alles aufgegessen war. - Getränke dauerten teils auch sehr lange. Wir hatten trotzdem einen sehr netten Abend bei leckerem Essen!

Gutes chinesisches Restaurant mit gutem Essen im Westen von Hamburg. Das Ambiente ist ok und der Service ist freundlich. Allerdings handelt es sich bei den meisten Speisen des Mittagsmenüs eher um Gerichte, die auf den deutschen Geschmack zugeschnitten sind. Das lokal bietet typische asiatische Gerichte, das Ambiente ist sehr stylisch. Im Mittagsgeschäft wirkt der Lades etwas verloren, da kaum etwas los ist. Das ist abends sicher anders. Für ein schnelles Mittagessen sehr geeignet.

Das Restaurant ist recht schick eingerichtet, hat eine schöne Atmosphäre . Der Service war okay nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Vorallem derPreis des Essens und die Einrichtung hatten eine gewisse Erwartung geschürt Was das Essen absolut nicht halten konnte, das war okay, stand aber absolut nicht im Verhältnis zum Preis. Zumindestens die vegetarischen nicht ein Teller gebratene Bohnen mit ein bisschen Reis 16,80 € ist schon ganz schön happig.

Sehr schönes Restaurant, viel Platz, sogar der Hund darf mit rein. Das Essen ist vielseitig und liebevoll angerichtet. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Gerichten und das Personal ist aufmerksam und zuvorkommend.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Mittagstisch. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nicht teuer. Leider war der Fachkräftemangel deutlich zu spüren.

Authentisch, stylisch, guter Service

Wo soll ich anfangen :) Location: Die ist top, stylisch eingerichtet und es wurde im Hintergrund Musik gespielt (Klavier) welches den Eindruck eines „hochwertigen“ Restaurant vermittelt. Service: Der ließ zu wünschen übrig. Sie waren auch nicht gerade unterbesetzt. Die Teller der Vorspeise wurden stehen gelassen und viele Gänge der Kellner waren mit leeren Händen, anstatt dass sie Sachen mitnahmen. Essen: Die Kinderportionen waren reichhaltig und genau das richtig, für die „Kleinen“. Leider waren Teile des Essens nicht übermäßig warm, was die „Kleinen“ weniger störte. Zudem wurden die Kinderspeisen kurz nach den Vorspeisen serviert, was gut war. Das Essen für die Erwachsenen hat deutlich länger gedauert. Wir hatten dreimal dasselbe, weil es sich hier eher um ein traditionelles China Restaurant handelt. Das bedeutet, die Karte ist anders und wir waren nicht so experimentierfreudig. Das Essen selber war heiß und reichhaltig. Man merkte, dass es frisch zu bereitet wurde und hat auch lecker geschmeckt. Es rechtfertigt den 4. Stern. Wir (2 Kinder und 3 Erwachsene) haben 120 € für alles bezahlt und es gab nicht vom Haus zum Ende.

Die Frühlingsrollen ähnelten optisch und geschmacklich zwei kleinen Papperöllchen. Der Wolfsbarsch schwamm in einer undefinierbaren dicken Sauce. Auch der Rest war mittelmäßig und für die Qualität zu teuer. Steriles Ambiente; immerhin freundlicher Service.

Chinesisches Restaurant mit modernen und gehobenen Ambiente. Wir haben dort mit einer größeren Gruppe gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Speisekarte ist vielfältig und die Gerichte sehr frisch zubereitet. Klare Empfehlung.

Einfach nur enttäuschend … der Service, das Essen, das Ambiente. Wir waren zu dritt; hatten € 162,20 auf der Rechnung und - angesichts des Gesamteindrucks - das Trinkgeld dem begeisterten Taxifahrer zukommen lassen
