Completely overrated Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Dim sum served at a distance so that one person had already eaten when the second starter arrived. A dim sum still ice cold inside. Main courses not very ambitious. Food as simple as the furnishings and unfortunately no revelation. Service ok, but no host qualities whatsoever. I wouldn't visit again. Tourist restaurant.

Staffing: we’re we’re welcomed and servers che led in and we’re helpful. Food choice was significant, we opted for dim sum followed by the meat plate and a curry rice dish, portion size huge, meat plate was excellent, curry average. Bill reasonable

Exceptionally extensive Cantonese cuisine.

Authentic Chinese cuisine, which you usually look for in vain in Germany. We've been coming here for fifteen years and we especially like the dim sum and noodle soups. What should be highlighted is the always very friendly service.

Used to eat here for years. Unfortunately, quality has significantly declined on more than one occasion. Sauce has more starch in it and far too salty, spring roll was very dark although deep fried. And price for one not good. And I did pick up my food and was asked whether I want to tip. Tip for what?

Für uns leider eine schwere Enttäuschung! Die Teller inkl. die Platten waren total kalt. Wir fragten nach für den Hauptgang nach neuen Tellern. Antwort: Wir sollten die Teller behalten. Beide Gänge kamen um mehrere Minuten versetzt. Das Essen selber war OK, jedenfalls solange es noch halbwegs warm war. Es wurde die fordernde Frage gestellt, wieviel der Kellner bei der Kartenzahlung ins Gerät eintippen soll... Wir teilten mit, dass wir kein Trinkgeld zahlen wollen. Keine Reaktion. Da fragten wir mehrmals, ob ihn interessiere, warum das so sei. Keine Reaktion. Wir erklärten dann, dass Obige. Keine Reaktion ausser mehrmals, wir sollten endlich den PIN-Code eingeben! Auch mehrmalige Bitte um eine Stellungnahme meinte der Kellner nur herablassend und demonstrativem Verweigern des Augenkontakts, er kommentiere dies nicht.

The food was good but the restaurant needs a thorough cleaning.

Unfortunately very sobering. We ordered duck twice (44.45). We had to wait a very long time. When the food came it was only lukewarm. Edible but clearly too cold. Whatever the reason, it stood in the kitchen for a long time until it was served. The taste was good, but as I said, the dish wasn't warm. Likewise the rice. After we told the service when paying that the food was good, but unfortunately it was cold, they smiled away and didn't comment further. There are definitely good days when you can have a good meal here. But we won't be coming back again.

The food is very good for a tourist hotspot and recommended. The restaurant is always very busy and unfortunately you don't always get a table straight away. Service is attentive and friendly.

Operation correct. Hall very sober. Very full. The fried noodles were plentiful but a bit smoky in taste. The chicken was extremely soft. The vegetables in the vegetable soup were simply raw. Wasn't really our thing.

Not pricy and not the greatest meal, but all right. Very nice waiters. There is a lot on the menu. We were 2 people an had starters and main course and paid 67 euros (plus tips which the waiter asked for)

Were there shortly before the musical started. It was already quite full but they still found a place for us. Friendly and with the excuse that it was quite full, we received our food quickly and unhurriedly. The service even had time for a nice little chat. I thought that was really cool. The food was very good and digestible, so we were able to enjoy our later visit to the musical. Praise and thank you!

Unfortunately, the food and the price are equally disappointing. I had a "noodle soup with chicken" This consisted solely of a not very tasty broth, cabbage, chicken strips and instant noodles. A cheeky €15.90 was charged for this. In China, something like this would be returned to guests, apart from the fact that soups there cost around €0.80 - €1.50. At the end the waiter begged for a tip, just ridiculous... The atmosphere is quite nice, the service is ok.

Unfortunately, I have to rate this shop very negatively. The staff was anything but friendly, the older lady who barely understood German literally slapped us with both the menu and the food. Unfortunately, the taste of the food wasn't anything special either. The meat had virtually no salt, let alone seasoning, the wonton soup was just hot water with a lot of salt and wonton in it. Furthermore, the restaurant was unfortunately not exactly clean, cobwebs everywhere, dead insects, stains on the window sill and table and a lot of dust on the furnishings. All in all, I only give the store 1/5 stars. There were 3 of us eating there today and unfortunately all 3 of us were very disappointed with the store... once and never again!

I actually have to say that this was the worst food I've had in this store in a long time. Almost unseasoned and dry. For three starters and two drinks €30. We don't even need to talk about service. It couldn't be any more unfriendly. NEVER AGAIN! I can absolutely recommend it to no one.

We ordered food to take away and we're not happy at all! The food didn't taste good at all and was way too expensive! I have never eaten so badly for so much money…..never again…..!!!!

We cannot understand the jubilant reviews. 3 out of 5 dishes were visually unappetizing and not tasty. The facility is poor.

We ate there again yesterday and it somehow becomes a ritual every time we stay in Hamburg. But you should really reserve a table in advance because it is very popular to eat there. We never noticed the staff negatively, quite the opposite. So: always happy! Since I just discovered the review here in which it was said that Man Wah has "cheesy cuisine" that you immediately forget, I wanted to add that we always look forward to the evening at Man Wah! Because unfortunately we mostly have Chinese buffets in the Ruhr area, which creatively "spoil" their customers with over-spiced taste buds. Tastes are so different, others like them.

Unfortunately, authentic does not automatically mean good. Uninspired Chinese out-of-the-box cuisine that you immediately forget about...

Simple furnishings. Well attended and very nice service. I had fried noodles with vegetables. It tasted very good but was a bit too fatty for my taste. I didn't like the coffee. Overall, I think this restaurant is recommendable, especially since the price-performance ratio is very balanced.

Actually, it's always been good there so far. It was good yesterday too, but I did have a hint: the dish grilled squid with vegetables is more like vegetables with grilled squid. Unfortunately the relationship is not correct here. A little squid meets a lot of vegetables. Maybe you should know...

The “Man Wah” in Hamburg far exceeded my gastronomic expectations! – The food was simply delicious and more than sufficient. The original duck (unlike the cheated nonsense in the “well-known” restaurants) pampered my taste buds and was a real poem. What is striking is that, in contrast to the other restaurants in question, which advertise lavish buffets, etc., no flavor enhancers appear to be used here. – This peculiarity is also reflected in the fact that I didn’t feel HUGE thirst after tasting it. The staff also deserve praise. – They were extremely friendly, courteous and always attentive. The quick delivery of the orders also contributed to an overall pleasant stay. The ambiance of the restaurant may be unassuming from the outside, but the charm and authenticity inside is unmatched. It was a completely successful experience. The option to pay with an EC card is also commendable. – This strongly suggests that there is little or no tax evasion. The option of contactless and convenient payment is a “clean” affair for customers, especially at this time of year. → A reservation is advisable, especially in the evening, as the restaurant is open, among other things, because of the customers, e.g. B. “on the Reeperbahn at half past twelve at night” is always well attended! 🍺 😇 Overall, I can fully recommend “Man Wah”. I'm already looking forward to dining there again soon.

The starters were very tasty. We had dumplings and fried wontons. I specifically liked the dumplings more. In the main dish, we took fried rice with meat and egg along with a chicken side dish.

Best Chinese restaurant ever, food excellent, service attentive and friendly, unfortunately one of the shops that exaggerated the price increase. Offering a spring roll, even if I think it's excellent, for €5.90 is incredibly overpriced. €4.50 was already at the limit. But that's how it is, unfortunately these restaurateurs don't understand that they are digging into their own water. The hoped-for profit maximization will not occur.

Essen war sehr lecker und sehr ausreichend. Die dimsum und die nachbestellte hausgemachte Sojasoße waren ein Gedicht. Als Hauptgang gab es halbe Ente mit gerösteten Schweinefleisch und schweinebauch und gebratenem Rindfleisch mit Zwiebeln. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren mehr als begeistert und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Essen gut. Kellner sehr ruppig und unfreundlich. So wie immer eigentlich. Komme seit 10 Jahren immer mal wieder in das Lokal. Mehrere Bier bestellt und auf die Frage, ob ich ein Glas Leitungswasser bekommen könnte, hieß es NEIN auf wirklich unfreundliche Art und Weise. Gut, dann spiegelt sich das im Trinkgeld wider. Dem Inhaber kann das zwar egal sein, dem Servicepersonal vielleicht nicht. Bis zum nächsten Mal :)

The restaurant is supposed to be a legend in Hamburg....sorry to tell this is not a legend....this is the worst service i had in Germany. Waiters are rude...they don't consider your question. Avoid this place. First sign of a good restaurant is how you are welcome when you enter....waiters are not polite...their uniforms are full of stains...not a clean place.. You're been warned.

Ich besuche den Laden seit nun seit 24 Jahren. Etwas besonderes, mit besonderem Essen. Die Secuan (?) Suppe ist Göttlich ! Love you !

Reichhaltige Karte, leckeres Essen, angemessene Preise - allerdings ist der Service etwas grummelig und die Atmosphäre etwas zu kühl.

Essen war nur mäßig 4/10 Ambiente auch sehr voll mit viel Laufkundschaft 5/10 Jedoch für 2 Leute 50€ bezahlt, preis 4/10 Nachdem man das geforderte Trinkgeld verweigert hat wurde man nicht mal verabschiedet. Service 4/10

Völlig ungenügend. Die schlechteste Qualität die ich je erlebt habe. Und beim Bezahlen würde mehrmals "nachgefragt" ob ich tatsächlich nur den Betrag, "ohne Trinkgeld" bezahlen wollte. Dabei hatte ich gesagt, dass das Essen nicht geschmeckt hat und die Qualität minderwertig war. Nie wieder.

Das Essen war super lecker, die Portionen groß und der Service sehr nett. Leider gibt es keinen Tellerwärmer, dadurch waren die Teller kalt. Trotzdem würde ich jederzeit wieder kommen
