Tolle Lage, aber völlig überteuert.

Super schöne Lage, gerade abends bei Sonnenuntergang. Getränke sind preislich okay, Essen etwas zu teuer.

Die Location an sich ist toll gelegen, leider macht man daraus nicht besonders viel. Die Ausstattung draußen (z.B. die Aufsteller auf den Tischen) ist schon etwas heruntergekommen, auf Nachfrage konnte der Schirm nicht aufgespannt werden - kaputt. Die Kellnerin war sehr bemüht und freundlich, konnte aber so gut wie kein Deutsch und auch im Englischen gab es Missverständnisse. Die Toilette war leider nicht sauber, alles war besorgniserregend eingestaubt und unaufgeräumt. Panino und Bruschetta waren okay, die Tomaten waren nicht wie auf der Karte beschrieben karamellisiert, das Brot eher trocken getoastet. Verglichen mit den anderen Cafés war hier eher weniger los.

Recht teuer für das was man bekommt, leider auch nur Barzahlung oder mit "EC-Karte"

Wirklich tolle Location bei schönem Wetter! Der Service ist allerdings schnell überfordert sobald ein paar Gäste da sind, zudem nicht besonders freundlich.

Haben sehr gemütlich bei Sonnenschein die Aussicht bei einer Weinschorle genossen. Sehr freundliches Personal und guter Preis für die leckeren Weinschorlen. Bestellung und Bezahlung kein Problem. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Für einen Kaffee und Matcha musste man über 30 Minuten warten, die Waffel kam 20 Minuten später. Gläser wurden auch kleiner, da man wahrscheinlich an Kosten sparen will. 1/5.

Ich habe dieses Restaurant eher zufällig entdeckt und war total begeistert. Es hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen und war genau das, wonach ich gesucht hatte. Die Caprese war unglaublich lecker, und die Getränke auch. Ein absolut perfekter Start in den Tag!

Wir kamen u. fanden das gemütlich abseits wunder bar. Wir bestellten ein Getränk kam in 10 min u.zwei Focaccia in 30 min. Einfach zu viel warte Zeit. Es waren drei Gästen die Kaffee getrunken haben und Vier die auch schon vor uns bedient wurden. Das was wir Bestellt haben war auf jeden fall lecker. Trotz allem würden wir das Lokal weiter empfehlen.

Wir haben bei schönem Ausblick draußen gesessen während wir draußen erfolglos auf Bedienung gewartet haben. Halb so schlimm, das überraschend frühlingshafte Wetter hat viele Leute raus gelockt und der Laden war mit den vielen Gästen offensichtlich überfordert, weshalb wir dann eben drinnen an Tresen bestellt haben. Unsere Bestellung wurde 2x vergessen obwohl sie mindestens beim 2. Mal schriftlich notiert wurde. Wir sind nach einer dreiviertel Stunde dann ohne Bewirtung wieder gegangen.

Es war ok, etwas ungemütlich zum sitzen drinnen und die Auswahl an Getränken ist nicht besonders.

Ausgezeichneter Service und außergewöhnlich freundliches Personal. Ich war gerade mit meinen zwei Söhnen hier und wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt. Ein Café zum Wohlfühlen 100 % empfehlenswert! ☕✨

Lage und Getränke top. Ein kleiner Hinweis mit der besten Absicht: die Atmosphäre wurde leider getrübt durch den Umgangston des Serviceleiters mit seinen Mitarbeitern – dieser wirkte auf uns als Gäste recht schroff und unfreundlich. Schade, denn ein respektvoller und wertschätzender Umgang im Team trägt nicht nur zu einem angenehmen Arbeitsklima bei, sondern kommt auch bei den Gästen spürbar positiv an. Wir drücken die Daumen, dass man sich hier noch etwas weiterentwickelt.

Der Kaffee schmeckte wie Wasser – einfach nur furchtbar. Wir bestellten die Tiramisu-Waffel, die mit einem Wurm darauf serviert wurde. Das Personal wirkte völlig überfordert – zwei oder drei Angestellte für nur wenige Tische, und trotzdem fand keinerlei Kommunikation statt. Sie standen einfach nur da, blinzelten und starrten uns an. Nach etwa 15 Minuten boten sie uns endlich Kuchen als Ersatz an und berechneten uns die Waffeln nicht, aber da war das ganze Erlebnis schon ruiniert. Die Waffel meiner Freundin (zum Glück ohne Wurm) war trocken und geschmacklos. Mehrere Gerichte von der Speisekarte waren gar nicht verfügbar. Eine absolute Katastrophe, vor allem angesichts der fantastischen Lage. So schade – ein Ort mit echtem Potenzial, ruiniert durch völlige Vernachlässigung und mangelnde Sorgfalt. Wirklich traurig.

Die Location ist wunderschön und sehr stilvoll, das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich. Mein Panini war super lecker. Leider musste ich rund 40 Minuten darauf warten, obwohl das Lokal leer war. Insgesamt aber ein schöner Ort mit toller Qualität, den ich trotzdem gerne weiterempfehle.

Die Lage ist natürlich wunderschön. Aber die Preise sind deutlich zu hoch. Ich habe für ein Spritz und eine Foccacia 32€ bezahlt. Aus diesem Grund werden wir nicht wieder kommen. Die Foccacia war lecker, der Salat leider fad.

Ich bin seit einer Woche in Deutschland und das ist der beste Kaffee, den ich hier getrunken habe! Ich hatte einen Flat White 🤩

Update: Actually our favorite place, but unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly recently. We ordered several times and still waited 30 minutes for a piece of cake (and the place was definitely not full). I find that really unreasonable, especially after we've had to wait forever for everything else... One of the most beautiful places in Mainz! We always enjoy coming back - whether inside or outside - for a waffle or a cold drink! Super friendly staff and cozy decor.

A lovely restaurant on the Rhine River. Friendly service, delicious food, and delicious coffee. They serve a variety of menus.

The positive: The location was great, especially in summer. The food was good-okay. Service didn't arrive for a while, so I got the menu myself. Why not stick a QR code on the table? The service was super friendly, albeit uncoordinated. They walked past me three times without taking my order. What's unbelievable, though, in 2025, is this debit card and cash-only policy. I can't understand it. The few fees saved can never compensate for the customers' frustration. Then there's the friendly guy behind the bar. Probably the boss. The contrast with the staff is so unbelievable. I don't understand how you can run a restaurant with such a mood when it's all about making guests feel good.

We had super delicious food (focaccia and waffles) and the service was really attentive and friendly! We'll be back soon!

The lemonade tasted like AHOI soda, the spritzer was so-so (it only came in Silvaner, and I admit, I'm not a fan of Silvaner). The antipasti were at Lidl level, which is a shame considering the price. However, you'll have to have cash or a debit card on hand for the rather high bill. The bruschetta was delicious, though!

There were some problems paying with the card, which sounded easy to fix. The cashier was generally not friendly.

The prices are a bit higher, certainly due to the location at the customs harbor. The waffles were delicious and were especially worth it since we had a 2-for-1 voucher.

We waited an hour for two paninis, and the place wasn't even full. Only after I asked the waitress did she pass it on to the kitchen and then it took another half hour. And the paninis weren't even that good, way too thick and dry. Oh and the order was only taken after we waited 15 minutes and finally went to the waitress.

The drinks were wonderful and were complemented by the smaller meals. The service was also extremely pleasant, and the manager in particular left a very good impression.

Great location and everyone is always so nice, I can especially recommend the Flat White for coffee lovers! 😊 We are really looking forward to our next visit!

No credit card payment and absolutely exorbitant prices. Waffle 15x15 with a little mascarpone and cocoa powder for €6.90 borders on a rip-off. Another waffle for €8 with just 1 scoop of ice cream and some sauce. The service was nice, but noticeably disorganized in the background.

As always, the terrace was well attended, which is why we went inside: Jackpot - apart from a few paying guests, no one was there. After asking whether we (4 adults, a stroller) could sit at the window, it wasn't a problem... 20 minutes (!) later we were asked what we wanted. There wasn't a map, but luckily it's online. Not that bad, there was a lot going on. Coffee was delicious, cake ok. But when I looked into the men's toilet, both things almost came up again. It could be checked more often, but of course it's up to the users beforehand. When I subsequently asked at the counter whether I could pay, I got the following very annoyed reaction: “Next time you ask if you can take another chair - there is usually room for 12 people back there - we would then have seated you somewhere else” 1. We asked if we could sit there. 2. It was more than obvious from the service that we were 4 people + baby. 3. Our colleagues could have simply pointed out to us when we ordered that it was uncool and taken us to a more suitable place. 4. We were almost the only people inside and there was no sign of a group of 12. “next time”? No thanks!

The Food was okay, but the bread of the Focaccia was really hard sadly… also I would recommend to take the panini with Salmon instead of the focaccia because it’s the same thing basically but costs 5€ less. Another sad point was that we waited for a really long time before someone noticed us. Then we had to wait for at least an 1h to get our food, and sadly had also to express our dissatisfaction. On the other hand the location is amazing and the staff, despite taking hours to serve is very friendly! If you plan on going there, definitely take your time because it’s not gonna be quick, but enjoy the views!

The port of Eden is located in the Mainz customs port area, with a view of the water. Thanks to the large windows and the terrace you can enjoy the view. The food is delicious and the price is absolutely right, e.g. For example, we recommend the waffles and the focaccia, as well as the coffee or the tiramisu. But what makes the café special is the friendly staff! If there isn't too much going on, you can also have a quick chat. This way you feel welcome and can relax really well!

Disappointing experience despite great location We were looking forward to a lovely evening in this restaurant with a great location on the harbor - unfortunately we were very disappointed. After being put off again and again for over half an hour, we were finally able to order. But even simple drinks (sparkling water & Aperol) took almost an hour to arrive. The food (two panini)? Never came. After a long wait, we finally left the restaurant. We would like to positively highlight the young man in service, who was very friendly. But the way the man behind the counter treated the employees and also when we asked them was shockingly unfriendly. Overall, a disorganized and frustrating experience - unfortunately not recommended.

Went there today for bubbles and waffles. Very friendly waitresses and owners. Waffle with biscoff was very good. I'm really looking forward to summer with an Aperol Tower.

Cocktail wheel of fortune was very exciting and very tasty

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the overall package. The food is completely overpriced, even for the location, that has to be said clearly. Focaccia is simply a ready-made product on which, in our case, a few grilled vegetables have been placed. The bread itself was cold and extremely dry, and the vegetables were pretty tasteless. You could spice up the dish with a few fresh Mediterranean herbs and spices, but it lacked pepper and salt and overall wasn't worth the money. For me, it's clear that the highest profit was made from low product value and quality. Unfortunately, the calculation doesn't add up in this case. The antipasti consisted of 2 slices of bread, 2 dips, hummus and herb quark, a few olives and pepperoni. Offering this as an antipasti for over 15 euros is very daring. The drinks are also grossly overpriced, the rhubarb spritz had hardly any tanginess and less taste than the Rhine water, which is undoubtedly very nice to sit on. I don't want to go into detail about the staff, but anyone who charges such prices should provide their employees with decent clothing and give them a little training in service and attentiveness. Nevertheless, everyone was very friendly, but just trying hard. Personally, I'm happy to pay a certain price, but it has to be appropriate. And unfortunately this is not the case with the entire offer. It's a shame about the really beautiful location, but as a restaurateur you should have a certain passion for products, for presentation, for taste and for the eye and unfortunately we were missing that here. With a few changes and some commitment, I wish you continued success!

Very nice café, fair prices and friendly service

The food was delicious and the boss was incredibly kind and warm! The atmosphere is really nice, you immediately feel at home. The service was top – friendly and attentive. The waffles were a particular highlight, and the hot drinks were also really good. Absolutely recommended, we would love to come back!

We discovered the cafe by chance; we actually wanted to ask for tools after our bike broke down. Next time we'll stay longer. Very friendly and helpful owner and beautiful location.

Great café with a fantastic location at the customs port both in summer and winter, chic furnishings, delicious food and a really good cappuccino (also with coconut milk). ☺️ My absolute favorites are the tiramisu 🥰😋 and the latte brûlée!! 😍 I always enjoy coming here, whether alone with a book or chatting with friends. ☺️

Great location, delicious drinks and very nice service!

It was very nice and the paninis filled me up a lot. I can highlight the view and the coffee. Coffee is regional from our friend Müller. The view is unique because the sunset takes place directly from the front. It is the perfect place to enjoy the day in peace.

We were here on a Sunday and had delicious coffee and cake. Unfortunately, the service was very overwhelmed in the afternoon and sometimes quite unfriendly, which is why customers left.

Very unfriendly staff! We were sent off in a very rude and disrespectful manner as there were two of us sitting at a table of four to make way for a group of four that arrived after us. I didn't understand. I won't go here again!!

We had to wait a long time for a free table and in the end we had already sat down at one. But eventually we were evicted from our seat and the table was given over to a group that had arrived after us. When we tried to clarify this situation, the waiter reacted rudely and disrespectfully. That was really very aggressive. Also, I would like to mention one more point: the chairs in the cafe are placed on high steps and when we wanted to push one of the chairs back slightly to sit down, the chair fell down as they are very close to the edge! I think that's pretty unsafe, especially if someone were to sit on the chair and try to get up. You could actually hurt yourself badly. By the way, when the chair fell down, the waiter didn't even try to pick it up, just watched us distantly. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience.

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience in this cafe. When we arrived, we wanted to sit at a free table, but we were rudely told that we couldn't take that table. After that, we waited until another table became available, but when we finally wanted to sit down - a separate table for two people – we were once again sent away very unkindly. The reason: They wanted to keep the table free for larger groups, even though no one was in sight. The service was extremely rude and disrespectful. The staff shouted at us and offered no apology for the poor behavior. After this disappointing treatment we went to the Gold Marie cafe nearby where we were treated much better. The food there was delicious and the service was friendly – ​​in complete contrast to this café. Definitely not recommended!

The last time we were here was a year ago and we actually always really liked it. We were there yesterday - but that was the last time for us. The drinks and food were ok. The service was subpar. The waiters were sometimes totally listless, sometimes arrogant. A waitress dropped a tablet with glasses and there were shards everywhere. Only the large pieces were cleared away. Only when asked was there a bit of sweeping done again - there were still broken pieces lying around. People also hurt themselves on the shards... but apart from a plaster, there was no help here. We definitely don't come here anymore, and the shop is also quite child-unfriendly - for example, there is no possibility to change diapers. I'll save myself the answers to the question about where diaper changing is possible at this point.

Hafen Eden is a nice place, BUT the cellars are always incredibly listless and I mean something different by friendly. The drinks are okay, cocktails next door are worlds better. Customer is king, that should be the case here too. It's a shame, there's no need to visit again.

Nice restaurant, little interest in the guest. Hafen Eden is a beautifully located local café in the customs port of Mainz. Open until 10 p.m. Terrace almost full, I'm not allowed to order anything at 9:40 p.m. (even though I just want a drink - enough to last until 10 p.m. Rude rejection - that's not possible, sorry. If you don't need it - oh well. One less guest in the future.

A very nice and cozy atmosphere, especially during sunset. The food is very tasty and the staff is very friendly and quick. Definitely recommended.

Today was my first but unfortunately also my last time

The two of us were there for the first time and unfortunately we can't recommend it. Unfortunately, the waitress wasn't up to scratch at all. She didn't say hello or goodbye. She asked us three times about our drink order, only to finally bring the wrong one. We asked several times to be allowed to pay. After 20 minutes we decided to go in and pay directly at the bar. Unfortunately the panini and cake were not edible. All frozen goods from the metro. You can taste it straight away. Unfortunately, these dishes were not home-made and of high quality. For the location and the prices you would expect at least something higher quality. Then it's better to make a few compromises in the view and walk 300 meters into the Neustadt. There are many bars and cafés there that put a lot of effort into cooking and baking. We didn't use the toilets because they were completely filthy.

The view over the Mainz customs port and therefore the location cannot be beat. The service is tried hard, but unfortunately not really friendly. On our last visit we ate, among other things, cake, which we can really recommend. Unfortunately, the toilets were very dirty (including stains and toilet paper spread on the floor)... Nevertheless, we would like to come back.

Such an amazing place to have drinks! Being a tourist, I was welcomed by friendly staff that spoke English. The boss didn’t speak German but was still friendly. But note that they don’t acceptable international cards so do bring cash. But other than that, I would recommend to anyone who wants a drink with a nice environment.

The atmosphere around the Mainz customs port is magical, without a doubt, and an absolute enrichment for Mainz. Unfortunately, our stay at the Hafen Eden restaurant with our friends was anything but pleasant. Because of the unfriendly staff, none of our friends were able to enjoy the evening together. As soon as we entered the restaurant, despite having reserved a table, we received a very questionable welcome and were treated in a way that was anything but friendly throughout the entire evening. The Hafen Eden restaurant seems to be a nice place at first glance, but the magic is lost all too quickly due to extremely poor service. For me personally it was the last visit to the Port of Eden and I cannot recommend it at all.

The two of us were there to enjoy a drink in the sun. The view is A1 and most of the drinks were really well prepared. The food also tasted delicious. When we ordered the drinks, a waiter noticed us very negatively. Not only was he insulting and super derogatory towards his own employees, he also started what we thought was an unnecessary argument with a group at the next table. The waiter's tone was aggressive. Snippets we caught were: “You have to respect me” and “look me in the eye when I talk to you”. It was really unpleasant so we quickly finished our drinks and left. We will avoid this shop, despite the beautiful view. After reading some reviews, I suspect that the unfriendly waiter is the same person who apparently is the owner.

Super nice location right on the water, the food tasted very good especially the waffles and the paninis!! also a very friendly service!!!

Service moderately friendly and rarely within reach and inattentive. All 3 paninis (which took 50 minutes) with little toppings and very dry, forgot the avocado in a salmon and avocado panini. This was added to the remaining half upon request and apologized with a “Sorry”. All in all, not worth a second visit.

The salad was a bit bland for me. Espresso and lemonades very good. The boss reacts positively to feedback and has an open ear. That's the reason for the ultimately better rating, which I wouldn't have given before.

In the sunshine and good company, it's a wonderful place to linger

Today I was in the harbor of Eden for the first but unfortunately also the last time. I ordered a panini... but what I got was a simple baguette with a (!) small slice of mozzarella, a bit of tomato and a hint of pesto that was barely noticeable. I would either charge more for the panini and add toppings accordingly, or just serve half of the baguette... This was really disappointing.
