Hacienda Mexican Restaurant in Kaiserslautern

In my opinion, the best Mexican restaurant in the entire region. The food is incredibly delicious, plentiful, and arrives quickly. The service is very professional and fast.

Very themed and a large menu with a good selection

The food was very tasty and there were free nachos as an appetizer.

Not like an authentic Mexican restaurant, but good enough considering it's in Germany and getting the real ingredients would make it way expensive.

If you love Mexican food, keep walking. The staff were confused I had a reservation when I had called the night prior, but still seated us after several minutes. The carbonated drinks were flat, the guacamole was liquid, and my wife's tamales were so dry we spat our bite out. When we asked them to remove the tamales from the bill the waitress tried to argue with us that it was too late, the manager was able to assist us with removing the charge. But hey, the butt-hurting benches were spacious.

In my opinion, the reviews reflect the actual quality of the place. The restaurant is dated and, upon closer inspection, not clean. It's loud, making conversation nearly impossible. The service is friendly, but during peak hours, it's difficult to get a table. The food was poor and presented without any care. I won't comment further on the drinks (cocktails).

We've been regulars at the Hacienda for over 30 years, and back then we were very happy with the restaurant for a long time. We used to come almost every week for dinner, often late, sometimes even after 10 pm. The service at that time was very warm and welcoming; you could have a (brief, of course) chat after paying (Renate and Paul were very empathetic and lovely employees back then!) and felt completely at ease. The reason I mention this is that unfortunately, very little of that remains today. The opening hours are getting shorter and shorter; on Sundays, they now close at 9 pm! And the real kicker was this spring when we arrived at 8:15 pm to sit outside—it was still quite warm outside—and were immediately and very emphatically told, as soon as they handed us the menu, that they were closing soon. As I said, we still had three-quarters of an hour, and we've been to this restaurant very, very often over the last 30 years! I found that outrageous. At least we got our food within 10 minutes, which unfortunately doesn't really happen there anymore these days; we've either been forgotten or had to wait a very long time. That would never have happened in the old days! The portions have not only gotten more expensive year after year, but also smaller, but that's unfortunately the general trend in restaurants these days. What we still like is the ambiance; at least in the main room, it's very cozy. Unfortunately, the Hacienda no longer has much in common with the wonderful restaurant where you regularly had to queue if you didn't have a reservation. As a result, we only come here maybe three or four times a year now and have otherwise been looking for alternatives. It's a real shame!

A very dated restaurant. The staff unfortunately speaks very little German or English. The food was all very tasteless and carelessly slapped onto the plates. Everything except the ribs was lukewarm. We had three people paying at the table. It was logged in right away, but in the end, the three bills were incorrect. The waiter didn't even thank us for a tip...

Everything is good, almost like in Mexico

We were disappointed by this restaurant years ago, but wanted to try it again. At first, we had to wait quite a long time for service, even though only three tables were occupied. The chili con queso for €8 was a small pot of warmed-up nacho sauce, like you'd find at the movies. The clam chowder was a mediocre potato and herb soup. One plate was crusted with dried-up sour cream. The burritos came without any side dishes, were very poorly presented, and tasted rather mediocre. The tacos and flautas were okay, but the combo plate was a mess of sloppy sauce. All in all, very disappointing. I'm surprised this restaurant has lasted so long, given the competition in the area.

Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied with the service. We felt like we were being rushed, even though the restaurant was still open. This made the visit a bit unpleasant. It's a shame, because I was actually looking forward to a relaxing evening.

Three of us came here for dinner. It took about an hour for the food to arrive! But the appetizers were okay! The restaurant was a nightmare, and I thought we weren't going to have any luck today! The staff was very friendly and we were extremely satisfied! We'd love to come back!!!

Simply cult and in the flight path of the military, simply cool

Unfortunately, we were totally disappointed with our visit. The restaurant and the restrooms were filthy (the place was still empty when we arrived, having only recently opened). The service was very unfriendly and disinterested. Some of the food tasted old and inedible. When we pointed out the inedible meat to the waiter, there was no response. We definitely won't be back!

Nothing authentic Mexican about this place you’re better off going to Taco Bell

The food is really delicious, the wings are great, as are the Mexican dishes. It's always busy, so you should definitely make a reservation.

It was our first and last time there and we were unfortunately extremely disappointed. The service was not great and they had no idea what they were actually serving. They tried to sell us chorizo ​​sausage as "vegetarian." The main course arrived incomplete. We had to wait over 10 minutes for side dishes and still didn't have our plates. Despite pointing this out, they unfortunately ignored it, and in the end, our fajitas, which were initially hot, were cold. We left the restaurant with empty stomachs. What a pity...

There's a really great Karate school under it. Get your meal upstairs and go downstairs to learn Goju Ryu from the Shinjo Masanobu lineage.

Our repeat visit to the Hacienda Mexican Restaurant was a huge disappointment. This leads me to completely revise my previous positive 4* review. We found the atmosphere on the roof terrace uncomfortable and unappealing. Aside from the loud aircraft noise from Ramstein, which you have to put up with, the area felt unloving and uninviting. The service was a disaster: Even though we called to announce our delay, our reserved table wasn't ready. We then had to wait almost 25 minutes to be served before we even placed our drink orders. This was followed by another wait of more than 20 minutes before our drinks were finally served in a completely unloving manner. The servers seemed disoriented and walked past us empty-handed several times, ignoring our obvious request for an order. A key problem was the lack of communication. The server assigned to us spoke neither German nor English, meaning simple requests like an extra glass with ice couldn't be accommodated – even gestures and gestures were of no use. This lack of basic customer service continued throughout the entire evening. Our questions about the menu remained unanswered, and one of the three dishes we ordered arrived completely wrong. The iced tea we ordered was unbearably sweet, and the white wine was served warm. The quality of the food we remembered so fondly also declined significantly. The dishes tasted okay at best, but far from what we expected. Worse still, we all experienced health problems due to intolerances after the meal, which suggests the use of additives and flavorings. Our dessert order was simply forgotten. As we left the restaurant, a sad scene unfolded. The tables inside were still littered with dirty dishes and glasses, while the waiters sat serenely at their tables, occupied with their phones. Only a diligent man behind the counter bid us a friendly farewell. It's shocking to see how much the quality has declined in the last 1.5 years. Under these circumstances, I will no longer recommend it.

I was unfortunately disappointed. The chicken wings were lukewarm and not well prepared. The buffalo and teriyaki were unfortunately way too seasoned. The BBQ was okay. The waitresses were very nice, especially the young blonde lady who was very friendly and gave a very warm welcome. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it!

I've been coming to the Hacienda in KL-Einsiedlerhof for almost 30 years now – and there's a good reason for that: the chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. Simply unbeatable! In my opinion, the best chicken wings in all of Germany – hands down. Plus, the prices are fair, and even though the place is almost always full, you can still get a seat quickly. The ambiance might not be the most beautiful or modern – but honestly, you'll gladly overlook that for the food. Highly recommended!

The Hacienda Mexican Restaurant is a beautifully decorated restaurant with two large dining rooms and a terrace. The food is always delicious and, in my opinion, beautifully presented. The menu is extensive, so there's something for everyone, whether vegetarian or meat-based. The price-performance ratio is also perfectly acceptable, and the service is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant, hence the 5 out of 5 stars.

We went to dinner at Hacienda yesterday with our grandson. The food was, as we've always expected, very good. We've known the restaurant for a long time and enjoy coming back from time to time. We were impressed by the food and service from the very beginning, as it's very close to Mexican cuisine. Having lived in El Paso ourselves, we can certainly judge that. We're already looking forward to the next time :)

We were there yesterday!! We had to wait a bit long for our order. But the food was okay.

It's still my favorite Mexican restaurant, and I'll occasionally travel a long way to get there. The strawberry margarita is a must. Of course, you shouldn't expect haute cuisine from Mexican finger food, but the dishes offered here are all very solid.

I can't understand all the negative comments here... We were at the Hacienda again today and were thrilled, as always. Service was fast and friendly. The food came quickly and was hot. The beer was ice cold. What more could you want? We'd love to come back. 5 stars from us!

We've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. The waiters have been here for a long time, and we know each other. The food isn't anything special, but we enjoy it, and the prices are reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

Typical Mexican restaurant. Many specials throughout the week. Wings or ribs. Large outdoor terrace. Unfortunately, completely unsuitable for people with disabilities.

As a worker, you're practically ignored! I was there with a friend who was celebrating his birthday and ordered a large beer, and was given condescending looks. That's never happened to me in my life! I will never visit this scum again. The staff are the worst!

We tried 2 margaritas that tasted like just unripe fruit. Didn’t taste anything else. The tortilla chips weren’t crispy. My wife and I ordered the California burrito. The beef was flavorful. It was ok. They brought out 3 of 4 of our meals. Asked me what I ordered and I told them that I the same as my wife. He went back and brought a thrown together burrito. The cheese on top of mine was still cold while my wife’s cheese was melted on top

The food was so bad that we just left everything. I don't understand how the kitchen staff can serve such food. Inedible. It's either so dry you can barely swallow it, or it's just mushy beans. The meat filling was minimal. Otherwise, it's just beans. The only good thing is that the waiters are nice, but you should be able to speak English so you can understand everything. So, to sum it up: we won't be going there again.

Definitely the most disgusting food I've ever tasted. Whether it was the appetizer or the main course, it was simply disgusting. The service was very friendly, but the food was inedible! We were there on July 5, 2025, and we certainly won't be going back.

Nice Mexican restaurant with good food

Delicious Mexican food awaits guests at this restaurant. We were surprised by some complimentary nacho chips with mild salsa before receiving our already ordered nacho chips topped with cheese. All our dishes were good in terms of taste and quantity. I opted for the all-you-can-eat spare ribs buffet and particularly liked the ones with BBQ sauce. We also enjoyed the homemade lemonades and the unsweetened iced tea, which is also available with refills for an additional charge. Conclusion: While the view isn't particularly great in this commercial area, close to the highway, the food and service are excellent. We'll be happy to return when the opportunity arises.

It's supposed to be Mexican, but it really doesn't taste like Mexican food. Sad. The salsa tastes like water, and the cheese sauce for the nachos is like it came from a can... very disappointing. I don't understand all the good reviews. Either she's never had Mexican food, or she has no taste for it.

I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant. I've been there several times myself, and the food was good. The prices are reasonable, too. The service was fast and friendly. There are different specials daily. For example, pork ribs "all you can eat" or a margarita for 2 for 1. If you want to reorder something, you have to raise the flag that's at every table; a great invention.

Tonight was once again disappointing. After today I can't help but give feedback here. The burito, which was supposed to be fried, wasn't crispy at all, but consisted of a slimy, moist, soft, square mass. Rice and beans have no taste, although that has always been the case, but other things used to be good. The only thing that was good on the last few visits was the home lemonade. The service staff wasn't at all interested in my feedback when clearing up that the food was not edible and that there were carrots in it, even though I had previously clearly stated that there shouldn't be any in it. He just said I would have gotten a new one if I had contacted you straight away, but to be honest I'm uncomfortable with having to return something completely straight away and I've really lost my appetite even after the slimy cover. Besides, I didn't want to wait and then eat when the others were almost finished. We used to love coming, it's a real shame that it got worse and worse and it doesn't even interest you if you give polite feedback that you could clearly understand on the plate. I would have liked an apology or some understanding or some reaction to the feedback after the many visits in the past and also for new guests. So that was it for now.

It's okay, I think there are better things out there, but if you're hungry and have some free time you can go there.

Price-performance is really absolutely great. The food was good and sufficient in quantity. We didn't have to wait long either. The staff is friendly and always quick. The price at the end was great. I can only recommend it.

Absolute catastrophe! There were 6 of us there, two people got the wrong starters, one person didn't get an entire main course (which was later charged anyway, but of course not paid for). The waiter was annoyed when you mentioned something that wasn't true. But the worst: In the dishes with chicken, the chicken tasted like tuna. We didn't think anything of it and ate it anyway. Bad mistake! Unless you want to spend the whole night in the bathroom with a terrible stomach ache! Never again!

I've eaten at myriad mexican restaurants all over the U.S. and would compare this to any middle of the road restaurant. It won't blow you out of the water but it is definitely someplace I would go to again.

Was there on different days and tried all you can eat ribs once and wings once - both absolutely satisfactory. Good seasoning, well prepared. The à la carte menu is varied and offers many other options. Overall, solid Mexican cuisine with a wide selection. The service is just that.

The waitress doesn't speak German properly and forgets part of the order twice in a row. Eating also takes far too long and only tastes mediocre - the only good thing was the extensive offerings on the menu.

It was the first and last time we went there to eat. Very old, outdated atmosphere at the start, the greeting from the kitchen was, in my opinion, ready-made salsa that was then stretched so that it hardly had any taste. My steak and also the fries, completely unseasoned, were slapped onto the plate with iceberg lettuce and tomatoes and a dollop of the ready-made dressing on top. My wife had fajita meat that was dry and tough and the remaining mush looked like it had been eaten before and was just thrown carelessly onto the plate

It was our first time at this Mexican restaurant and it was definitely our last time! My husband thought about turning back in the stairwell and it probably would have been best. The menus were very unkempt and smeared and the atmosphere wasn't very nice. We had a bad night: all of us, except our smallest son, who (luckily) only ate a nugget, had stomach cramps, vomiting, etc. So it was definitely the food. If we had read other reviews beforehand, we would have known we weren't the first. We suspect the vegetables (tomatoes, lettuce) and the minced meat because these were the things my son and husband had the same and both had it the worst. We will never go there again!!!

Been here again for a long time - even just because of the mistaken assumption that the favorite Mexican restaurant is closed. If only I had checked earlier. But today's visit to the hacienda. Service: fast but as emotional as three meters of dirt road. Feeling like a guest and welcome is something different. E.g. there was no question as to whether everything was OK. is or whether it tasted good. Chips and salsa delicious... just the amount of chips was very manageable. Drinks: Also quick, you can't really go wrong - I think. The strawberry margaritha was a strawberry smoothie in a water glass. No sugar rim but at least a straw for decoration. Starter: Chili con Queso an absolute joke - a tiny stainless steel bowl filled with ready-made, warmed cheese salsa (it tastes more exciting even in the cinema). The chips had to be sorted separately. Even my 9 year old daughter realized without trying that "it was bought and not homemade". The taste experience was accordingly. Main course: a burrito with chili con carne topping and a quesadilla with beef. The filling in the buritto is indefinable, the taste “goes like that”. Lielos prepared. The beef in the quesadilla was bone dry. Half remained lying there. All in all, not a nice experience and therefore the last time for many years.

I hadn't been to the Hacienda in ages until a friend asked if I wanted to come along. Went there without a reservation on a Sunday evening and managed to get a seat, but it was busy. Accordingly, the background noise is a little higher. Service came quickly with a menu and drink requests. Likewise the tortillas with the salsa. What was chosen and the starter was received relatively quickly, the main course came at the right time afterwards. Unfortunately, for two out of four dishes, the food was brought to the table more lukewarm than hot. I don't need it to be so hot that you burn your tongue, but in that case I would have liked it to be a little warmer. It was a bit annoying then. The taste was okay. However, it's not so outstanding that I 'absolutely' have to visit the Hacienda again in the near future. There are alternatives in and around Kaiserslautern that were more convincing. Priced within the local range. Service friendly and attentive.

Good ambience, friendly service and delicious food!

The food is very good!! No long waiting times and always nice staff! The atmosphere is exceptional and everything is very clean! The prices are affordable too! I've been eating there for 25 years! Always a pleasure

Overall an average restaurant experience. Some of the waiters only speak English. Unfortunately we had the misfortune of sitting near the kitchen. Whenever the door opens you can hear noise from the kitchen. Unfortunately there is no national music (or no music at all). Unfortunately the food is pretty bland, you should definitely try the hot sauces. The moderate prices are positive.

Great atmosphere with delicious food and good service.

The food is really good and big portions. What was great was that I and my colleague only arrived half an hour before closing time and we were still able to order and eat in peace.

Went to this restaurant for the first time with friends on Sunday. The service was friendly at first, but after 8:30 p.m. the friendliness stopped. Because they close at 9 p.m. The salsa sauce was very watery. My wife was given rancid salad oil with her salad. After our complaint, the salad was replaced immediately, but we didn't get any other oil. My burrito was wobbly and soggy. Taste ok. Here came the awakening in the night. I was very nauseous and you can imagine the rest... The cocktails at the end consisted only of ice and water. Hardly any taste or content. Definitely the first and last time there. Not recommended.

Quite large rooms, so you have to expect medium waiting times. Conditions are then really fixed and they do their job well. In my opinion, the food was pretty average. We were satisfied and would come again if we were nearby.

Almost all of the food was frozen food. Nothing was homemade here at all! Each of us had cold food. Some of it was so salty that it wasn't edible. Orders for changes ended up being wrong. Friends ordered the beans and I had them on a dish without beans, beans on top. Brownie was also just frozen food and still rock hard, with spray cream from a can. Service was absolutely not professional, sometimes we had to wait forever. Toilets were reasonably clean, but so freezing cold that you hardly dare to take off your clothes. There was no parking nearby either. The floor shakes as if there was a bowling alley above it.

The food is absolutely terrible , after speaking on my food being nasty and sending it back I was told “no the food is good” by the manager then charged for the food I had taken a singular bite of.

The cocktails are great and the service goes to great lengths. However, the food is not particularly good. The salsa is completely flavorless and the tortillas taste like baked cardboard. As for the guacamole, I'm not even sure if it's ever seen an avocado. I was more disappointed than thrilled.

Rice is over cooked, please don’t come here and waste your money. Mango margarita didn’t taste good tasted like was and alcohol no flavor. Steak fajita big chunks no flavor.

I found the stay quite pleasant. We were served quickly and the food came to the bill quite quickly. However, I had to wait a long time and had to go to Go to reception to pay. For me the price/performance ratio isn't quite right here... it's a bit too expensive for what you get. You can get much better and fresher burritos in the area for the same price…

If i could give this place a negative 5 stars, I would. This place is horrible. Went on a Wednesday, drink specials is two for one margaritas. Sounds good, right? NOPE! They were small and nasty. I had the original lime and a mango. Both were nasty. Lime tastes like salt water, mango taste like they forgot to put tequila in it. Food was room temp and dry like they microwaved it. Nasty, everything was nasty. And we got the sampler platter. They are not authentic at all(as they claimed they were)! Flower tortillas, cold meat, iceberg lettuce and cheese on their tacos. The meat inside the tamales were not only cold but taste nasty AND was hard. And the waiter never came to check on us after we got our nasty food. We had to walk up and ask how to pay (which they were supposed come give us the check like they did engine else). Please, PLEASE don’t waste your money here. Or if you do, please don’t give them fake good reviews that’ll trick others.

Too crowded and the tables are quite close together. If you have to go to the toilet you can hardly get through without disturbing others (strangers) while you eat, the service staff doesn't work hand in hand. Not handicapped accessible. The food was rather unseasoned, the steak was briefly fried at too little heat and came to the table cold. Piña Colada tasted like nothing. It's a shame, we're used to better things from Tex-Mex cuisine. But I can do it better at home. Will not visit our site again.
