Best margaritas in town!! Happy Hour starts at 4p.m. Deserves a 5-Star review all by itself. Great food in this place. American sized entrees. Everything tastes awesome. I've had the chimichanga and burrito platters ... both are winners. One lunch visit (quite affordable and very fast service). One dinner visit (Happy Hour made the margaritas a really good deal). Can't wait to go back again!! Wife is _always_ the designated driver post-meal. HaHa

Very delicious food and great service. Definitely worth a visit. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Prices are very reasonable; for just under €20, you get great Mexican food with a drink. The portions are generous, so everyone should be able to eat their fill.

The chimichanga was amazing. The birria taco was dry so I will stick with burritos and chimichangas next time. The service was excellent and the food came out quick.

Food is a matter of taste :) I thought my chili con carne was okay. The taco appetizer plate was great. (We had two for 4.5 people) The portions are great. The ambiance in parts of the restaurant is nice; it would be great if it were like that everywhere (we had two wobbly tables).

We go to Cantina Mexicana again and again. Even as a large family with lots of children, we are warmly welcomed. The playground for children is also great. All the staff are very friendly! The service is generally very well organized, you're served quickly, and there's always someone nearby to approach – truly top-notch! And of course, the food. A great selection, incredibly tasty, and filling. For years, eating here has been a great experience. It's always been first-class!

He passionately explained the differences and recommended a high-quality tequila that was so smooth and round, I would have loved to drink the whole bottle—what an experience! The food was also an absolute delight: fresh, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned—from the tacos to the salsa, everything was spot on. You can taste the love for Mexican cuisine here. I love this place. Service is phenomenal. Food is great. Food options are also great! Drink options are also great. I would give it 4.5 stara if I could. Also, dont be fooled - those wings are whole wings, so they are MUCH bigger than you think (and super tasty!).

We've been going there for years and are always very satisfied! The service is wonderful, very friendly, and they're also very knowledgeable about celiac disease! ✨️🫶🏻 The food is always delicious! My favorite dish is the combo with rice, beans, and a taco with fajita. 🩷✨️

Amazingly delicious food, fresh, clean, and above all, tasty. The waitresses are all nice, especially Greg. We drove here especially from Mannheim.

My wife and I visited Cantina Mexicana for the first time today...and we were thrilled! A warm welcome at the entrance...the very professional staff and the super cozy atmosphere were a great start. Our server truly deserves 6 stars. Always on time, friendly, polite...not pushy. PERFECT! The menu is so extensive, it's hard to decide. The food was excellent, and the homemade lemonade is amazing. The prices are reasonable...all around...an experience. We will definitely eat there again. Warning: It's addictive!!! 😬

Unfortunately, the food was not tasty at all. The iced tea tasted stale and not good at all. Everyone at our table was overcharged. The bill only included the total amount and nothing else. It's a 10/10 for understanding the prices. Also, I think the staff themselves have no idea what's on the menu. At least the service was friendly.

Addendum after another visit on November 9, 2024: The service and the food are still "very good"; I can't add anything to my review from two years ago. The restaurant offers a variety of very tasty and well-known dishes. Mexican cuisine, with its pre-Columbian elements, has many local specialties and is incredibly diverse. Anyone who has ever eaten a mole poblano at various locations in Puebla will confirm that it tasted a little different each time, but always incomparably good. At Cantina Mexikana, you'll find the typical Mexican flavor, although there is a noticeable TEX-MEX influence. The dishes are beautifully presented, the staff very attentive, everything tastes fresh and is hot. The spiciness is well below the Mexican average, which won't make even a guest unfamiliar with chili break out in a sweat. Spicy requests are happily accommodated. You can tell that they use good chili here because you can taste it in your mouth and not in your throat. The tamales are very tasty, but I can actually recommend anything. Conclusion: If you're ever in the area, you should definitely let yourself be transported here for a taste of Central America.

We spontaneously dropped by Cantina Mexicana on a Saturday evening without a reservation and immediately got a nice spot on the terrace – exactly what we wanted. The service was super friendly and attentive. Our waitress was prompt, always nearby, and easily accommodated all our special requests. The food was plentiful, fresh, and deliciously seasoned – you can tell the food is homemade. The drinks were also great: cocktails, lemonade, beer, and iced tea for self-sweetening – all top-notch. What was especially nice was that the nachos and iced tea were regularly refilled for free! To finish off the evening, there was a real highlight: fried ice cream with a crispy corn crust – hot and crunchy on the outside, ice-cold and creamy on the inside. Absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was relaxed and lively, with many American guests – which added even more authenticity to the evening. And if you like: There are over 300 different tequilas to choose from – we tried a homemade strawberry tequila shot. The perfect ending! Conclusion: Great food, super service, relaxed atmosphere – we will definitely be back!

Food portions are so small for the price on the menu. My taco salad was 70% lettuce 15% meat 5% cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The ground beef also already came out cold. My partmers chimichanga needed sauce but all together wad a way better deal and more flavorful. The waiter though, he was incredible I hope he gets paid his value as his English and German are both like a native tongue.

Great Mexican inspired food! Tamales are available year round 🫶🏽 Never had a bad margarita from here either! The banana margs are my favorite— very refreshing and tasty!!! 🍌🍹 Great place for family dining or dinner with friends. They are usually very busy but we’ve never had to wait long for a table. Recommend to get a reservation if you have a big party. The only annoying thing is that their credit card machine is ‘down’ 99% of the time so you have to bring euro cash with you.

Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen schmeckt einfach gut. Wollte auch eine Hauptgericht mal ausprobieren...aber konnte leider nicht. Das portion nachos supreme war riesig groß! (Wurde für 2 verkauft, dieses Mal war ich leider allein). Schade nur das bisschen guacamole extra bezahlen musste. Bis bald...!

I had a fantastic experience at Cantina Mexicana! The tacos were flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and the queso, chips, and salsa were all fresh and delicious. We were at the restaurant with five people. Reservations were required, and the service was good. We couldn't really imagine what Mexican food looked like. Our meal selection wasn't ideal. Given the selection, you probably have to visit the restaurant three or four times to make a satisfactory choice. I'd only recommend it to insiders.

This is like a good American style Mexican restaurant. If you are feeling homesick for a good enchilada, margherita or other Mexican food and drinks, THIS IS YOUR SPOT! The food was very flavorful, the drinks where amazing and the staff speaks German, English and Spanish. Sorry I didn't take fotos. The food arrives and instead of letting the phone eat first, I pounced on my beef enchiladas with jalapenos. My plate was spotless when I was done. DEFINITELY MAKE RESERVATIONS!

The ambience itself is nicely designed, however It was excessively warm that evening due to the heating air and the number of guests. 3 out of 8 of our group had to interrupt their visit because the heat and lack of fresh air made them feel unwell.

feels just like an American Mexican reason. Tastes better than any Mexican food ive had in America . And had wonderful prices. Only reason i did not destroy the plate was due to the 3 bowels of chips prior!

April 2025, Clean restaurant, clean restroom, sweet tea was alright, enchiladas was surprisingly good, best part was the tres leches piece. -Side Note- Myself and my wife both were born in San Antonio and have been to Mexico, I’ve seen and tried it all. As far as I’m concerned this place is alright, especially in Germany!

The food is always fresh, authentic and of high quality - whether tacos, burritos or fajitas, every dish is a delight. The selection of drinks, from Mexican lemonades to delicious cocktails, is also perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is always friendly and attentive. What's particularly nice is that the restaurant regularly offers new dishes that are just as good as the classics. It's always a pleasure to eat here and we highly recommend it!

The Cantina Mexicana in Kaiserslautern is simply fantastic! The food is impressively authentic Mexican cuisine and tastes absolutely delicious! The selection is also huge. The tacos caseros, carne asada, nachos mixtos, and churros are particularly recommended. I also really like the fact that they serve horchata, michelada, special beers, and cocktails – drinks that are often missing from many other Mexican restaurants. Added to that is the very friendly service and a nice, clean atmosphere, which makes the visit even more pleasant and makes you feel immediately at home. Since the restaurant is very popular, you should definitely make a reservation, especially on weekends, to ensure a table. Highly recommended!

I love Cantina Mexicana. I have been eating there since 2007 and have never been disappointed. The only drawbacks parking is crazy tight and it's mostly busy, and sometimes it takes a while to get your food. But once you have it, the taste and quality will blow you away.

Tacos, enchiladas, rice, and beans were very good. Decor was fun, restrooms were very clean. I don't recommend the queso dip, as it was very thick, like they just heated up a block of mild cheddar cheese, so I won't order that again, but I will likely go back for the main dishes.

Really good Mexican spot, best sit down restaurant for Mexican food I've seen between k town and landstuhl.

So I've never been disappointed with your ribs, but yesterday that was nothing! Guess it wasn't a fresh part and wasn't made really hot. Was able to pick it up without any problems, firm dry flesh. I've eaten a lot and yesterday I was so hungry and wanted to eat something and not wait for a complaint. Sorry guys, but warmed up wouldn't be so bad if you did it right. Everything else was very good!

We came on a Friday evening without a table reservation and were kindly given a free table. The service staff was very nice and friendly. The food was served quickly and was very tasty. We will definitely come back, but then with a table reservation.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the region! I think it’s authentic, but hell sure it’s tasty! The personal is really friendly and fast, but be aware, it’s really often full house! Better reserve a table! And one more thing, don’t order the Appetizer sampling! It’s way too good and you will be full with tortilla and stuff before the main course comes🤣

Best Mexican food i have had in Germany so far. Atmosphere had a real authentic Texmex vibe and the real candles provided a nice ambieance. The Drinks were not very strong but the salsa was really good. I suggest a combination plate.

For me/us the best Mexican restaurant in the southwest. Authentic, fresh food for little money. Quality and price are convincing, whether for starters, main courses or desserts. Large selection of tequilas. We drive about 60 km to the cantina every time and we enjoy doing it. The service staff are very attentive and friendly. Advance reservations are advisable as the cantina is always busy.

This is an honest critique not a BAD ONE. Having cooked Hispanic food for many years the room for improvement would be the rice and condiments. The rice tastes like packaged rice unfortunately. Authentic rice has less ingredients and sauce. Maybe it's a regional rice. Too thick of rice. I did not have frijoles. Onions for the tacos while red are pretty, some pickled in limes juice seem like they might be better and white, less sharp onions would be better on top of tacos. Chicken was pretty good but tossed in sauce? a tiny bit dry. Cilantro was spot on! Tortillas were SUPER! Salsa- perhaps offer verde and red. Mindful that most Hispanic is not really chunky, that would make it Pico de Gallo. This is where pickled red onions would really enhance the flavor of Pico. Jicama is also a bonus in some salsas that are a little chunkier. One thing I think might be a super bonus would be Goat meat! What a huge treat it would be for tacos! I can see lines out the door!! Crema, Feta like cheeses yummy! Got a good thing going but room for improvement. We WILL BE BACK!
