Benji's Burrito Bistro in Kaiserslautern

Having lived here for the last 5 years you really can’t get any better than the Benjis crew. This review is for Benjis Burrito but damn does it apply to Birria, Bird House and Smash and Dash. Often imitated Benjis stands apart as a LOCALLY OWNED and operated establishment. Open all week (yeah including Sunday). Food is amazing and the staff is always welcoming. It stands alone as the place to grab some damn good food and be around some awesome people. Highly recommended. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Large burritos that are delicious. Price is high.

Best Mexican food I've ever had in Germany! There is parking in front of the store and in the back. The burrito is gigantic! If I've known how big it would be, I would have ordered a burrito bowl. The burrito can easily feed two people. Nachos and guacamole was perfect!

The food is delicious. The guys offered all the sauces since I was new and had no idea what I'd like. I have to admit the cheese sauce and the green avocado was my favorite. I did the mix of chicken and barbacoa. The place has a bathroom and a dinning area. Super helpful if you have families. Definitely will be back!

The individual components were very tasty, but together, mine was pretty much a mess. That means next time I'll change the ingredients and re-evaluate.

The best burritos I've ever eaten. It's definitely worth every minute of the wait, as it's always so busy. But it's well deserved. The guacamole is also fantastic. Thank you, keep up the good work! We'll be back again and again.

Ahhmazing! When we arrived there was a line out the door which moved pretty quickly and after the first bite it all made sense why! Super good! Super friendly! Will Definitely return! Parking is a little tricky but just turned down the road right before the turn for the entrance and surely you’ll find a spot! My kids loved their burritos too! The rice bowl was delicious !!

We were there for the first time today. We felt like we were back on our 🇺🇸 USA vacation 🧳 . The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. However, the parking situation is a bit tight.

Tried Benji’s Burritos for the first time and went with the surf & turf bowl, plus chips and a side of elote. The bowl itself was super flavorful and huge — I ended up eating off it for like two or three days, so definitely worth it if you’re looking for a filling meal. The chips were solid too. As for the elote… I’d probably skip it next time. It was made with canned corn, which gives it a totally different taste than fresh off the cob. I even had to season it myself when I got home, so that tells you something. That said, I’m not mad at the overall experience. I think I’ll try the quesadilla next round. Anyone have a favorite order here I should try?

With a line of about 30 people wrapping the restaurant it only took maybe 15-20 minutes to get our food. The food was delicious for the most part, the steak was a tiny bit chewy. It is very clean and family friendly. There is even a play area for the kids. Parking is difficult to find, but it is a short walk from the parking lot over.

A trip to the USA and back. Menu in English, ordering in English, food in the best street style: burritos, chips, salsa, everything just like the Southwest. Only the euro sign indicates that you're not there.

It's always worth a detour off the highway if you're in the area. A welcome and absolutely delicious change of pace for the whole family.

Delicious! Big portions too. It’s a little pricey so consider making 2 meals of it?? It was pretty warm downstairs with the sun in the window, would be nice if they shaded it to stop us from sweating so much while having a hearty lunch.

One of the best Mexican burritos in the surrounding area. Since most American-owned snack bars and restaurants are located in military areas, non-Americans aren't allowed in. That's not the case at Benji's, as it's located outside of this area. The food is delicious; you can choose your toppings, similar to Subway, and they're freshly added. The selection is plentiful, with something for everyone. There's a second floor with a terrace and balcony. Unfortunately, it's usually very busy. Most people order takeaway food, but the waiting area can be very crowded on some days. It's worth it, though.

Benji’s is the greatest, I don’t know what else to say. When I have to return to the States and settle for Chipotle and Qdoba (two places I love) I’ll be sad.

Always a pretty long line, however the line moves pretty quickly. Good food. Wasn’t the biggest fan of their salsa, however the burritos are really nice.

Food is amazing. Burritos are huge and they surprisingly can roll a lot into a burrito. The price is usually around €14 if you're only getting one thing. They have more than enough space, up stairs and downstairs. The only downside is the parking. Their parking lot is so small and is difficult to enter/exit. The workers are nice and efficient and the bathroom has been clean every time I was there. I will say the portions for the bowl are bigger, at least look bigger, if you're eating there vs taking it to go. Overall good, if you're going with multiple people, carpool.

We did not like it very much, an incredible amount of food stuffed into the burrito, not very appealing for the eye. Flavor is always a matter of individual taste, we thought it nothing more than okay. Wanted a virgin Margarita, they let me taste it. It was not good. So I ordered a bottled lemonade. Service at first station great, second one and register was not good. No plates for inside dining, just trays and in foil wrapped burritos, plastic take out containers for side dishes. For the two of us for 2 burritos and 2 sides and 2 drinks 54 Euro! Waste of money for us

Great food and impressive portions

Best fast-casual Mexican I've had in Germany. Really high quality with loads of flavor in their ingredients, regardless of the dish type. The employees are friendly and in sufficient numbers to keep things moving quick. I've been stuck behind larger "catering" orders and watched them bang 'em out in no time, which is great if you need to be in and out. The crunchwraps are really good. While they don't let you customize it as deeply as a burrito or bowl (it wouldn't fit or toast properly), the extra texture from the crispy outside and chips on the inside is amazing. Highly recommend.

I strongly encourage anyone visiting this place to double-check their receipt. I noticed I was being charged two separate MwSt (sales tax) rates—one at 19% and another at 7%—both listed under the total. This is especially confusing because I did not dine in, and I’m unclear why I’m being charged restaurant-level tax for takeaway. The breakdown of these taxes also didn’t seem to align with the prices of the items I ordered. Additionally, the service experience was disappointing. I requested steak, but the server initially claimed they were out. I pointed out that steak was still available, and he acknowledged it but told me I'd have to pay for a full portion from another section. In the end, I ordered shrimp instead, but the receipt included charges as if I’d gotten both, making my meal unnecessarily expensive due to a price difference between shrimp and steak. To make matters worse, I paid before 9 PM, but I was told I could not sit down to eat—everything had to be packed to-go. Still, the bill reflected charges that implied I was dining in. No utensils, napkins, or any basic takeaway items were provided with the meal, which added to the frustration. Lastly, while I respect any hardworking staff regardless of background, the overall service felt untrained and unprofessional, which detracted from the dining experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the billing irregularities and customer service standards moving forward.

Street sweeper is 10/10! So so good. My husband got it the first time we came, and after I tried it, I didn’t want anything else! The kids love the steak quesadillas, and we love that they also have a corner of toys for the kids to play.

Solid place. A little boujee but it's cool nonetheless. It's a bit on the pricey side, but you can't get anything like that around here.

Benji's is an amazing spot for lunch or dinner. If you go in hungry you will definitely leave full. Similar to Chipotle but in my opinion it is light-years better. The steak did not have any fat and wasn't as chewy and the chicken melts in your mouth. As we walked up we could tell this was a good choice since the line was wrapping around the lobby. Plenty of seating on ground level and upstairs. We will return for Benji's every time we're visiting Ramstein!

I love this store. Whether it's a burrito/quesadia or a bowl, everything is super fresh and basically great. My favorite is the Critical and since the Crispy Wrap a lot of love for the Benjis team stays that way. Even if I no longer live nearby, a detour here is always worthwhile.

Born and raised in California, this place is a clutch go-to for actual Mexican food that's quick and quality, for dine in, or take away. I've lived here for 4.5 years and there aren't any Mexican food restaurants who actually serve Mexican food because they have adapted the taste to the palate of the local people here. I am very thankful for a place like Benji's where they keep it authentic, and the people are also always kind, professional, and social - while dishing up healthy potions with a smile. All the thumbs all the way up 🔥

As a hispanic person this place hit the spot. The flavors were all there. I'd give it a 5th star but it is a bit pricey. 100% recommend if you have an itch for some great hispanic food.

Food is okay, but I got a bowl to go and accidentally locked myself out of my apartment. I thought it’s fine cuz I have a food to sit and eat while I wait but they didn’t give me any fork or napkins for that matter. Now I’m stuck alone, cold and hungry.

Honestly, can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place in the 3 years I lived in Germany. Truly the best place for a healthier food option. My husband and I went so often that the usual workers knew our order 😭 they were truly the best. Benjis gives huge portions, they offer to give you a small sample to try something before putting it on your bowl/burrito. On top of that, they’re also coming up with limited items, such as the Crunchwrap or delicious dessert. They also offer kids sizes (bowls, burritos, quesadillas) if you don’t want the large size! Affordable, takes cash or card, with plenty of seating inside. We’re back in the States and miss Benji’s Burrito SOOOO much already!!

If you enjoy dining, this is the perfect place to visit. You can watch your meal being prepared and choose your ingredients....be prepared to want more when you're finished.

I absolutely love Benjis food. Its like chipotle and qdoba had a love child. Best of everything, flavor, quality and quantity. The only stupid part is they are so good the line is forever long and the parking kinda sucks. Other than that, this is definitely a stop I always make in K-Town

Unfortunately very salty and not authentic...we ordered a burrito to take away. The order was delivered to us lukewarm, almost cold, wrapped in aluminum foil and would therefore not have been suitable for immediate consumption. We then warmed up the burrito at home in the microwave...not my idea of ​​good Mexican. Eat. Never again.

¡Delicioso! BENJIS is by far our favorite plac3 to eat in the KMC area. The food is so flavourful and good and the staff are wonderful. The portions are huge, you will leave stuffed and probably with left overs ! They have a little corner for kids to play while the parents just hangout. Atmosphere is calm and too easy to just relax and enjoy wonderful food here ! Definitely stop by, big plus is they are open daily!!!!! Which means great place to stop by on Sundays.

We got burritos and nachos on Friday. There is a huge fresh selection of meat, sours and toppings. In terms of the ordering system, it is structured like a sub...w. The service is friendly and unfortunately mostly only speaks English but it works well with hands and feet :) The burritos/nachos were a dream in terms of taste and size. The steak in the burrito was particularly perfect and with the delicious grape salad inside it was awesome. It still tasted good the next day. I think it's also in the normal price range. We will definitely come more often! Another store is opening in the city center.

Absolutely best wings in town! I was looking for really good chicken wings - and this restaurant more than exceeded my expectations! The wings are simply perfect: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and with a selection of delicious sauces that leave nothing to be desired. The smack sauce especially blew me away! The service was also first class – super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger. If you're looking for the best wings in town, you should definitely stop by here. I'll definitely be back!

Great quality and fast service, best burrito I’ve had in Europe.

I've been wanting to come here and try it for a while, and now it finally worked. The possibilities for individually putting together a Burito are huge. There are also other dishes that you can put together. But I came here specifically for the buritos, so I had a big fat burito made for me. You can really choose a lot of ingredients, some of them cost extra, such as: Guacamole. In the end I ended up with €15.50 for a burito, without a drink, fries or anything else. It tasted really good and really big. However, I found €15.50 a bit much for a burito.

It was my first time having lunch here and what can I say, WOW and great food, it really tasted very good and I was able to have it prepared individually. Very nice staff and cool atmosphere. I was just a bit surprised that I had to pay an extra €3.50 for eating in the house because I had to pick up the food at the counter myself and then clear it away myself, but that was bearable because everything else was great.

Unfortunately, the menu is completely in English and the staff can't speak a bit of German (which is simply outrageous) just because you've occupied half the city doesn't give you the right not to have to adapt. Integrate yourself, like everyone else. The food is top at good prices. Everything fresh and super seasoned. Very interesting.

The service and ambience were great, the taste was completely overrated in my opinion, so it's definitely not for me, the burrito was way too full, you can hardly eat it, the taste was pretty average. Queso sauce consists almost entirely of fat. Unfortunately, the parking lot is far too small for the amount of customers, and the price is also significantly too high
