We had the best Indian food in a long time in Hannover.. We tried Paneer Tikka Masala mit Rice and Butter Naan.. Gravy was so flavourful and finger licking tasty.. We were skeptical before we entered the place, but a great conversation also with the host Munazzar brightened the mood pleasantly.. A must try if you're in Hannover..

The food is super tasty and the portions are large. I was full after eating cardboard. Admittedly, the food is not cheap as some reviews say, but Guru is not a snack bar either! We liked the atmosphere, on a Monday evening we were able to eat in a quiet atmosphere without prior reservation. Not all of the vegan dishes are immediately recognizable on the local menu, but you have solved this better on the internet. Maybe you could use emoji for vegan 🌱 and vegetarian 🥕? Otherwise absolutely recommended - we would love to come back 🫶🏼

A chili sauce like a spice firework, tender chicken, rice and naan - simply delicious! And the portions are decent too. Service very friendly and prompt, ambience OK. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately not good and way too expensive! We grabbed something to go today and it was a mistake. First we waited almost 40 minutes for the food. We had chicken with mango sauce and chili chicken both together for €35. Arrived home and unpacked, looked forward to it and then the disappointment, the chicken in the mango sauce was not cooked through and therefore not edible, neither was the other chicken. The chili sauce only tasted hot and like tomato, no Indian spices. A pity!! Unfortunately it was the last visit for us.

Today I wanted to enjoy the thali lunch menu, but unfortunately the enjoyment was significantly reduced by the (too) low room temperature and draft. I gratefully accepted the fleece blanket that was offered, but it only helped to a limited extent. Not that I was cold; it also affected eating. When I put the second thali with the rice on the plate, the rice was already completely cold. I'd love to come back, but I'll take the food with me or wait for summer temperatures.

Amiable individuals, delectable food, and a superlative ambiance coalesce to form an exquisite tapestry of niceties. I will recommend specially the Chicken Tikka Masala which is my all time favourite item at Guru to go.

Been to several Indian stores but Guru has completely exceeded expectations. Super delicious food, very nice atmosphere and a positive experience. If you want to eat Indian food in Hanover then definitely go to Guru

Previously, I had a misunderstanding when I visited the restaurant first time a few months back, but I continued to visit the restaurant. They have substantially improved them. I particularly recommend the Paneer Tikka Masala, which was quite good. Service was also pleasant. Today on 14.02.2023 I was at GuRu to go near Christuskirche, Hannover for the first time and I was extremely disappointed. I would not recommend the restaurant for the following reasons: *1. General impressions:* (a) Poor! On the auspicious V-day they had a 'couple menu' (attached picture), and when I asked about the menu and the price to the receptionist they said it is 29.90 Eur/per person/per dinner. Then why the heck did you write the title 'Liebe Isst...' if you are not providing the food together to the couple with that price? Normal items are less expensive than this. Then what is special in that special 'V-menu'? The menu defies my common sense! (b) Finally, I have chosen a few items from the normal menu card after washing my hand. The waiter noted down the items and said you have to order going to the counter by paying first. C'mon, I just washed my hand and was not flying stealing their money! Its disgusting... (c) Then I paid. The counter-person asked me if I need a bread (naan). I have 13 mins (not 10, not 15, they said exactly 13!!! thats derogatory) to decide (13 mins to be 21 o'clock). Now, I am there for the first time and how do I know how much quantity of rice they provide and if I need a naan/an extra bread? In the website it is written to be closed at 10 pm. *2. Quantity and Price:* Quantity is very less compared to the price. *3. Menu:* Paucity of the menu was the main reason that I never tried this restaurant before in last 3 years of my stay in Hannover. 'Saag Paneer' is the all you have in the main-dish of Paneer? C'mon!? *4. Taste:* I took a Kofta (with rice) and a tea. Unfortunately, the Kofta was not of authentic taste. I won't recommend. The tea was rather okay. 5. Then finally they sensed my disappointment by seeing my face and offfered a dessert for free. The dessert has not sufficiently sweet. I rated 2 star, 1 for the tea, 1 for their final effort. Now choice is yours if you want to visit this restaurant.

Wein und Essen sind in Heimkoch Qualität. Anrichte und Geschmack eben wie wenn man es selbst, nur für sich, machen würde. Gut für den schnellen Hunger auf Indisch jedoch keine Reise der Kulinarik.

Mein Lieblings-Chana-Masala! Es ist immer frisch, es ist immer lecker. Egal ob vor Ort oder zum Mitnehmen. Die Mitarbeitenden sind freundlich und das Essen ist fix auf dem Tisch und wird frisch gemacht mit Blick in die Küche. Kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen. Man schmeckt viele Zutaten heraus und merkt, dass man hier leckeres Essen kochen möchte für den Kunden. Kleiner Tipp: Anrufen und abholen oder vor Ort essen ist immer billiger als über eine App zu bestellen. 😉

I have been here twice now and both times received brilliant service. The food is great, it has to be the best Indian/Punjabi food that you will find in Hanover (and I am indian so that says something). If you want authentic Indian food you need to ask them to make it Indian style (spicy with all the different herbs and spices). Highly recommend!

One of the best Indian food I have ever had in Germany.We tried Paneer Tikka Masala mit Rice and Butter Rotti , Gravy was so flavourful and finger licking tasty.Also tried Veg Pakora and Papad mit chutney ( chutneys were also too good) .A mus try for those who loves to try out Indian food.

Wir sind heute zufällig dort vorbeigekommen und sind spontan dort eingekehrt. Der Empfang war locker und sympathisch, die Wartezeiten kurz und das Essen unglaublich lecker! Das Chili-Hühnchen gehört mit zu den leckersten Dinge, die ich je gegessen habe und auch der Salat mit Paneer war hervorragend! Wir kommen wieder!^^

Super Location. Wer das Guru in der Jakobistraße kennt: Das ist mehr die schnelle Nummer, aber so ist das auch gedacht. Der Geschmack stimmt, und nett ist es auch.

Seit der Eröffnung ist das GuRu to go eines meiner Lieblingsrestaurants in Hannover. Wir kommen fast jede Woche hierher und sind immer sehr zufrieden. Zusätzlich zum sehr guten Essen gibt es auch immer eine Unterhaltung mit den Mitarbeiter:innen. Im Sommer kann man draußen sitzen und die Atmosphäre des E-Damms genießen.

Leckere vegane Gerichte (Köfte Curry), die ich so noch nirgendwo anders gegessen habe! Es hat uns sehr gefallen. Nur das Naan, wie bereits andere berichtet haben, war nicht gut und sehr trocken...

Wir haben dort zum ersten Mal spontan bestellt und mitgenommen. Ich muss echt sagen, das Essen war super lecker. Alles frisch und man hat jede Zutat geschmeckt. Super gemacht, weiter so und wir kommen nochmal 😊

Die Bewertung bezieht sich auf ein Selbstbedienungsrestaurant und dafür kann ich nur fünf Punkte geben. Das Interieur, Ambiente ist toll. Das viel wichtigere ist, das Essen ist super lecker, frisch, aufregend und genau das was ich von einem asiatischen „Restaurant“ erwarte. Wunderbar gewürzt und nicht langweilig. Kein billiges „Süß Sauer“

Das Essen war sehr lecker, heiß und frisch. Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam. Besonders um unsere kleine Tochter waren sie sehr bemüht. Das Ambiente ist modern und gelungen.
