We had dinner in the Gungl Stubn today. We both had schnitzels and they were perfectly breaded. We really enjoyed our meal here and the service was very friendly and quick. At the end there was a Kaiserschmarrn which was very tasty. We can recommend the inn with a clear conscience.

Contrary to some negative reviews, I can only report positive things, we were guests in the Gungl Stubn on two evenings. Orders were taken quickly and brought to the table, as were subsequent requests such as ketchup and mayo. The drinks were cold and the food was beautifully presented, super tasty and, above all, plentiful! On the first evening I had the schnitzel and on the second the cheese spaetzle. The waitress and the host were always very friendly and, above all, patient when my card payment didn't work four times. The view of the mountains from the terrace rounded off the visit perfectly :)

Good food that is served quickly, with a beautiful view of the Zugspitze. Almost right next to the Zugspitzbahn, so you can easily ride out the traffic jams to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Hui on the outside and yuck on the inside. Truly the worst meal we've had in a long time. Just loveless mushrooms as a starter for €11, even the bread had to be paid for additionally. Then the main courses, which are way too expensive. The sauce for the cream schnitzel didn't taste like anything, as did the completely boring "homemade" spaetzle. When we asked for salt, they simply forgot it. The service was bad. We were only asked for drinks once. You can find friendliness elsewhere, our greeting was only answered with “jaja”. Completely annoyed and unfriendly man in service. The lady still made an effort. And the Jubge didn't speak any German at all. Only the view is good here. We really regret the 75 € for 2 people. So really not recommended.

The view from the terrace is beautiful, but only if you don't sit under the umbrellas. You can't see any of it there. These were only folded away at the end of the day. We enjoyed the food very much. The portions were large. Unfortunately the beer wasn't really cold. The service rarely came by, but was busy clearing and tidying up from 9 p.m. onwards, even though a few tables were still occupied. That was very uncomfortable. Nevertheless, it is recommended for a trip.

Food was tasty and prices were okay. Unfortunately, we weren't full because the portions (spätzle, salad, steak, chicken) weren't particularly large, even though they were very nicely prepared. Large selection of drinks. The terrace is directly on a street, which is often not visible in the photos. Depending on how busy it is, it can be a little louder. It's still nice to sit in the sun and the service is very friendly.

My fiancée and I had dinner today and it was simply amazing 😍 I recommend it 100%, the presentation is beautiful, the service is at the highest level. We recommend this place, it's worth visiting for delicious dishes. Greetings to Mrs. Sylwia ❤️

We had dinner. Delicious Bavarian food. We had lamb, spetzle, chicken breast and grilled baked potato, steak and weissbier. Everything was fresh and delicious. I recommend it!

Wonderful restaurant! The food, the atmosphere, the furnishings and the outdoor area were a fairy tale 😍 we spontaneously drove here from Munich and will now come here more often to our new favorite restaurant. Fantastic! We visited the Bavarian restaurant, not the accommodation! Our overall impression of the restaurant was mixed. The food was okay, nothing outstanding, but quite good. The service was tried hard, but it seemed as if the staff were under a lot of pressure. In addition to the regular service, the service staff obviously also had to train a new colleague, which was too much in some places. Unfortunately, this resulted in longer waiting times, which somewhat spoiled the overall impression. Some items on the menu were not available which was disappointing. However, the selection is large overall, so we were ultimately able to find something else that we liked. The atmosphere was what you would expect from a Bavarian restaurant: rustic and traditional, which definitely had its charm. Overall a solid experience, but there is certainly room for improvement, especially in the areas of service and dish availability.

Discovered by chance on our way. Excellent meal and superb welcome with a typical setting.

In advance: A little further up a guest complains. About an hour ago... This subjective description is almost embarrassing. We were also there with 2 families and 4 kids, and even if our kids are sometimes loud and do nonsense, at least we know that they are our children and don't look for the blame on others. This complaint is almost a slander, the poor waiter also pointed out that his job doesn't allow him to look after the guests' children. The parents let the kids run around there as if it were a play and climbing park. It can happen, it shouldn't, but writing something like that is already pointless. An apology would have been more appropriate. And now to us: We had salad, cheese spaetzle, the mushrooms, Leberkäs, the children's dish spaetzle with gravy and the children's dish fries, I forgot the other two. Everything was delicious, so the prices are justified. Great view from the terrace. I'm attaching 3 photos of it, but unfortunately it doesn't quite come across. The red mountain peak in the evening sun is awesome. So I recommend visiting just before dusk. Staff was polite and friendly. We would love to come back on our next vacation.

Waiter very rude, knocks over our small child, continues walking and then makes derogatory comments without helping the child up. He also discusses it loudly throughout the guest garden. For me, that beats any rudeness. Food looks better than it tastes and the price is not exactly cheap. The spelling of the menu is just worth a laugh. Every elementary school child can spell better. Absolutely no recommendation, as a few minutes by car there is a very nice inn with GOOD food and nice staff.

Food was super tasty and looks great! Staff is very (animal) friendly! They were two really lovely evenings with a wonderful view of the Zugspitze! We will always be happy to come back. Keep it up! :)

We had the most horrific experience at this restaurant. Firstly, the waiter was incredibly rude and impatient. Secondly, the food (which was Schnitzel and Spaetzle) was not proper. The waiter sent us the boss who then began to dissect the food, at out table, with his hands, telling us 'you can see it is proper meet'. We also asked for some lemons to have with the food, and we received two pieces, so incredibly small, that we couldn't even have used it. We assume that the boss was under the influence of a lot of alcohol, as he started fighting with us the moment we left, screaming after us from the restaurant to the car. Would never recommend this place

After a long day of hiking, we spontaneously stopped into the cozy Bavarian restaurant, which is in a beautiful location with a breathtaking view of the Zugspitze. The food was excellent – ​​lovingly prepared and the taste was an absolute delight. I would particularly like to highlight the refreshing, homemade elderberry spritzer, which was just right after the hike. A big thank you also for the ice ax, which we will treasure. The visit was the perfect end to our hiking day and we would love to come back!

Very nice place, great views.. The food we ordered was Käsespatzle and Lachs salad, it was tasty and well served. There were many people in the restaurant, but we didn't have to wait long. The service is friendly. I recommend this place.. We will come back here again with pleasure.

It’s very delicious food, quick service and comfortable rooms

There were four of us in the restaurant and we arrived hungry from a long hike at 7:15 p.m. First we had to wait 20 minutes without anything happening. After a while we asked for the menu and eventually someone came and brought it to us. We were finally able to order around 7:45 p.m. The drinks came sometime later, but that too took longer than expected. The first starter only came after about 40 to 45 minutes and the main course took another 20 minutes to arrive. In total we waited over an hour for our food. To make matters worse, the cutlery was missing. We got our food and had no cutlery. After we pointed it out and after two minutes nothing had happened, we asked again and only then was it brought. In addition, other guests who came after us received their food before us. Another annoyance: the salad was missing bread and the cream sauce for the schnitzels was disappointing in taste. So we were there at 7:15 p.m. and practically didn't get our main course until after an hour and 30 minutes at 8:45 p.m. because we couldn't order until 7:45 p.m. and waited another hour. We definitely expected more at these prices. We were extremely dissatisfied with the service and the quality of some of the food. Very disappointing! We won't be coming back.

We were in the restaurant and rate it. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at the Gungl Stubn. First we had to wait 30 minutes before we could even order drinks. To save time, we ordered our food right away. Nevertheless, we waited for our order for a whole hour afterwards and the food still hasn't arrived! Several other guests who ordered after us have already received their food. The service was extremely slow and inattentive. We definitely won't be coming back.

We can give this 5 stars with an absolutely clear conscience!! Firstly, we have never been served such a large knuckle before, and secondly, it was super crispy and very tasty. The operator of the restaurant is a very, very nice person who knows how to deal with his customers. We were completely satisfied. By the way, also with the schnitzel. And the salad was very extensive and fresh.

Typically Bavarian restaurant, with a sublime view of the Zugspitze (highest summit in Germany). Pleasant service, despite arriving very late, the service remained excellent. We tried the different dishes, we all had very positive opinions. Don't hesitate to visit this restaurant 😊

Unfortunately not very tasty cheese spaetzle were more like thick tagliatelle noodles in cream sauce. The Kaiserschmarrn didn't taste that good either. But the prices are very high. I can't recommend it

After all the good reviews, we had different expectations. Of course it's all a matter of taste! But: the food came 5 minutes after ordering. The plain cheese spaetzle with sauce in a glass that didn't taste like a hint of cheese. With lots of pepper and salt it filled me up. The salad was more of a mix of "radishes cut days ago, a big lettuce leaf, lots of onions, even more berries" - definitely not recommended! The meatloaf was average at best. All in all very disappointing. When you think of good Bavarian cuisine, you imagine something different. The service was nice, can't do anything about the kitchen. After half an hour there we were served!

After a strenuous MTB tour, we went to Gungl Stubn very hungry. Wow, how many different types of draft beer there are. The food was so delicious! The boss and boss were present and there for personal tips! At the end we had a really tasty schnapps (from Sweden, I think) from an acquaintance of the boss, highly recommended! Thank you for the lovely evening. If we are in the area we will definitely come back.

I can't say anything about the rooms. Service was very friendly, although rather slow. Food was okay. The decoration was completely exaggerated, a huge mountain of radishes. Absolutely unnecessary and tasteless. The prices for children and the portions are outrageous. I think €6.50 for fries with ketchup and mayo is cheeky, more expensive than in the swimming pool. The joke, however, is the portion. Something so outrageous. No 5-year-old heavy eater will be satisfied with this. Prices too high for small portions!

What a beautiful spot for lunch! Not only was the view of the mountains gorgeous, but the food was delicious. Best salad I've eaten in Germany. The salad was not drenched in dressing and with a generous helping of summer fruit! The soups were pretty good too.

Grainau visitors: you have to go here! Great terrace, authentic/sensational cuisine, lovely and hard-working staff. We can't judge the hotel because we were "only" here to eat, but it's definitely worth it! We'll be back 💙🤍

We were just in the restaurant. The only good thing was the view. Service was good. Value for money was very poor. We ordered veal hunter schnitzel for €26. Half of the schnitzel consisted only of breadcrumbs. The portions were indistinguishable from the children's menus. Unfortunately I was very dissatisfied and didn't even get full!

A top location if you want to eat very well and value first-class service. Totally friendly waiter, very accommodating and competent. We ate here twice during our stay, once the lumberjack steak and the second time the Jägerschnitzel. Very very tasty! The salad is also fresh and the dishes are wonderfully garnished. After all, the eye eats too! Finally, the Kaiserschmarren, a must, even if you are already full.

The description of the type of apartment does not match reality. Not even on the Booking website. We found this out upon arrival. It does not have a separate sleeping area and is not 45 m2 but rather half that size. It's actually a regular hotel room with a kitchenette (where you can't cook), but you pay as if it were an apartment. Are you not satisfied? Then you can cancel, but do not count on the owner reimbursing or reimbursing you for the cancellation costs. We ended up looking for something else (bigger) ourselves and spent double the costs.

We stopped here on the way through and ate in the restaurant. Since eating out has understandably become significantly more expensive, we try to get enough information in advance through reviews. The reviews here like “bought good reviews” almost put us off and let us continue. We're glad we didn't! You can sit comfortably on the terrace with a view of the mountains. The staff is super friendly. The food came quickly, but the kitchen put a lot of effort into preparing the plates nicely. The food was not only beautiful to look at, it was also extremely tasty. Regarding how to deal with complaints: my wife's Coke Zero was apparently filled from a large bottle and not from a dispenser. Unfortunately there was no carbon dioxide. After my wife told the waiter, he apologized several times, citing the bottle not being completely sealed as the reason and immediately brought a new filled glass of Coke Zero. Something like that can definitely happen and the handling of the complaint was also exemplary.

We did not stay at the Gungl Stubn but had a very nice dinner there a few weeks ago. The food was delicious, the service very friendly, and the atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately we only stopped in to drink coffee. The view of the mountains from the terrace is wonderful. The service was very friendly and the selected dishes were very tasty. It was worth staying here.
