BOSNA Restaurant "Metzgerstubn" in Grainau

I go there every time I'm on vacation here. Warm, friendly service and superb food!

We recently visited Garmisch-Partenkirchen from Denver, Colorado, and as a Bosnian native I had to stop in and try this place. The experience was absolutely amazing — from the warm and welcoming Balkan staff to the fresh, delicious food. The presentation was also top notch.It truly made me feel at home. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Very delicious food, it really tasted great. We sat outside, with a great view of the mountains. Everything inside is a bit dated, but that's probably a matter of taste. What really bothered us was the service. While very friendly, repeatedly commenting on special requests (mayo with the fries) and repeatedly saying that the sauce was rich enough and flavorful enough was simply not something you can do. And when she then went on to complain about other guests' bad behavior while we were paying, it was a bit too much for us. Maybe we just had a bad day, but we don't know yet whether we'll be back.

With that view, the ambiance can only get 5 stars 😊 We sat outside, so I can't say anything about the ambiance inside. The food was great. The price/performance ratio was also completely reasonable, but the older lady who served us should perhaps stop complaining so loudly about unruly guests 🫣 She was very friendly to us, and the service was good. She made every effort to please everyone!

I ate at this restaurant with my wife – and unfortunately, it was an evening we'd rather undo. First, a positive: The atmosphere was fine. The view of the mountains is truly beautiful and actually invites you to linger. Unfortunately, that was the only positive thing about this visit. The food: Absolutely disappointing. Carelessly presented, the taste was abysmal. My wife couldn't finish her meal after the first bite – and my meal was barely edible, too. For this quality, even cheap takeaways are a better choice. The service: And now for the real low point: The elderly server was the epitome of unfriendliness. No "hello," no smile, no hint of hospitality – instead, rude replies, a condescending tone, and body language that suggested we were a nuisance rather than welcome. In all my years, I've rarely experienced such rude service. The service: The service was a real disappointment. We can't comment on other staff members, as we were the only one serving us – and that was enough to ruin our entire stay. Conclusion: Nice view or not – when you feel like you're being treated like this as a guest and the food is also of such abysmal quality, there's only one thing left to say: Once and never again.

Daily Special: Leberkäse (meatloaf), fried potatoes, two fried eggs I had read a few reviews before my visit, including one in which someone criticized the Leberkäse dish. Interestingly, this criticism was addressed by the restaurant itself – stating that there was no Leberkäse (meatloaf). Well... I had exactly that dish on my plate. Maybe it was an optical illusion. What can I say? Unfortunately, I can only agree with the criticism at the time. The Leberkäse had probably only seen the pan light in passing... pale, soft, completely lacking in flavor. The fried potatoes were a bit of a mystery in themselves: were they deep-fried? Fried? Reheated? In any case, they were far from what you would imagine good fried potatoes to be. The fried eggs were there... at least. The service? Let's call it nostalgic. An older lady consistently addressed me as "Fräulein" (Miss). A term that disappeared from the language for good reason in the 1970s and now seems rather condescending. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be malicious, but a certain zeitgeist would be desirable in the restaurant industry. And then the height of Bavarian heartlessness: Leberkäse... without sweet mustard. Instead, they slapped the standard mustard on me. No garnish, no love, nothing at all. In Bavaria! That almost borders on culinary disrespect. Conclusion: If you like Leberkäse, you'd better walk a few meters further or cook some yourself. The restaurant's reaction to criticism also seems to be more defensive. Too bad... it would actually be a good opportunity to improve.

Quite inconspicuous from the outside, but with delicious food and very friendly service. You immediately felt welcome. The view of the Waxensteine ​​​​was a bonus. The food is freshly prepared, the portions are generous, and it tasted really good. I haven't had such tender, well-grilled chicken fillet in a long time. The asparagus was always cooked to perfection, not too hard and not overcooked. We visited Bosna three times in our five days in Grainau. We would have loved to go back a fourth time, but the team deserves a day off ☺️ Best wishes to our "older" waitress from the two girls!

The waitress (owner?) was very cold and not particularly friendly towards us, but as soon as a family with children was there, she was like a different person. The furnishings in the area where we were "allowed" to sit consisted of jumbled together and outdated furniture. My husband's grill plate was completely ok, but my broth with pancake strips tasted like absolutely nothing. We were there once, but there wouldn't be a second time.

At first glance, the ambience is a bit old. BUT you are immediately warmly welcomed and the food was very fresh and delicious! Highly recommended for young and old!

Open on Sundays as one of the few. We wanted to pick up, that was no problem. We were given some time to figure things out. We received tips and everyone was very hospitable. The food was ready quickly and packaged very carefully. We could even get cutlery. The food was plentiful and delicious. Definitely recommended.

Delicious (too much) food. Started with a soup, then main course. All in all, so much that unfortunately there was no more dessert. So call it a day, but do things differently. Started with main course and ended with dessert, which was also not completely finished but was very tasty. Our small dog was also welcome. Very friendly woman, who is busy going from table to table. We had the feeling of being spoiled by our grandmother. Highly recommended. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Been there often. Over the years it got worse each time. Unfortunately, it's a real shame. The food is simply nothing special anymore. Especially since the waiting time is already very long and the older lady who is supposed to be the service person should perhaps work on her friendliness a little. Nobody here wants to accept criticism if they have something to complain about in the food. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it, it's a real shame. The best remain the Jägerstüberl, Gaststätte zum Dorfbrunnen and the Spatzenhäusl. The quality there has not decreased for over 17 years.

After visiting the Zugspitze we decided to go to this restaurant! The service was incredibly friendly, which made you immediately feel at home. The food was simply fantastic – fresh, tasty and prepared with a lot of love. Prices are fair, it's not too expensive! I would say overall it was really great. Absolutely recommended, I will definitely come back when we go to the Zugspitze again!

Food is great but service is awful.And of course then is atmosphere also awful.The old lady is not very good when it is up to paying with a card.Better check twice when you decide that you want to pay with it.She constantly forgets what you ordered and asks multiple times.Even tho she tried to be polite she didn’t succeed in it.I see positive and negative reviews regarding her patience with english speaking tourists but I guess that depends on her days.ln our case she was not patient with english speaking persons seating next to us and she was rude to them when they decided to pay with a card.There were 3 tables around us and she got 1e tip…that says a lot.We give 5e tip,to round our bill…before we said no need for change,she didn’t even asked or thanked.Just took our money. 😂

One star is still too many!!! Never eaten so badly. A finished product is tastier. Cevapcici like rubber, the rice was only lukewarm, in the ajvar that was added a salt pretzel had already dissolved and was put in for decoration. Freshly prepared is definitely something different. The gnocchi are a mess, how can you mess up a convenience product like that? Price absolutely exorbitant. I recommend the Jägerstüberl or the Spatzenhäusl, you won't be so disappointed and it's worth the money! The Metzgerstubn will never see us again.

Der Laden ist nicht einmal einen Stern wert. Hier überschätzt sich der Koch maßlos. Essen nicht richtig warm ,minderwertige Qualität. Preise extrem teuer. Waren einen Abend Später im Spatzenhäusel das ist 1000 mal besser und sogar noch günstiger. Auch das Jägersübel schlägt dieses Restaurant. Spart euch das Geld dahin zu gehen da Ärgert man sich hinterher.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The lady thar runs the restaurant was charming and kind, treated you like family. She was very patient with our English to German translation. The food was delicious. 10 stars. Worth the trip.

We ate at this restaurant almost every evening during our vacation. So we were able to try out different dishes (spätzle, pancakes, cordon bleu, salad…). Everything was very tasty. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The view from the terrace is fabulous. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We'll definitely be back!

Good location on Zugspitzstrasse with a rustic atmosphere and enough space inside and out. A family business with friendly and courteous service. The food tastes very good and the price-performance ratio is right.

The food is homemade and tastes very good. The dumpling tris are really highly recommended. In general there is a very good vegetarian selection, which is not necessarily the norm, especially for the Allgäu ;) But the meat (especially the Hungarian goulash and the Yugoslavian plate) also tastes great.

The view from our table was gorgeous. Our food was amazing. The owner, we just adored her! We stopped by after a bike ride to eisbee headed back to garmisch. We had Jägerschnitzel, gurkensalat and krautsalat to share, one of our favorite authentic meals

At first glance, the restaurant seemed a bit dated. However, this was more than made up for by the nice service. The menu was very appealing and we quickly found something. My husband had the Jägerschnitzel and I had the Yugoslavian grill plate. We were both very impressed by the tasty food. The Jägerschnitzel was served with a sauce with fresh mushrooms and fresh herbs. The grill plate also had everything your heart could desire. We both enjoyed it very much.

Definitely something for everyone who prefers good home cooking to ambience. Good home-style cooking is served here at a fair price. Portions are really good and taste delicious. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned or New German "old school" but that shouldn't detract from the food. Happy to come back!

We had dinner at Borsna with seven people. Our food tasted great and the portions were rather too big. The very nice service brought us a Slibowic with pear liqueur at the end - very tasty.

After so many years of coming to GAP again and again, we decided to eat at Bosna Restaurant. I love Jugo cuisine, that's why we decided to eat there. Unfortunately I was very disappointed, my daughter ordered chicken nuggets and they were raw inside, fries were also cold. I didn't trust us to say anything because I was arguing with the lady from the kitchen all the time (I understand Bosnian) and the mood was bad.

We just choose this restaurant randomly, but the food is totally out of expectations. We just tried Schweinehaxe and Schnitzel, definitely recommended! And the view ourside is really good!

I ordered a pork knuckle with dumplings and I have to say that both the portion size and the taste were great. The sauce was very tasty and the knuckle was super tender. However, I think that one service is not enough and unfortunately I was missing the schnapps in the end. Furthermore, I would have preferred a vegetable side dish with the pork knuckle rather than a salad. All in all, good value for money and would eat there again.

The place is great, but the lady likes it when you order food as well as a drink, we were passing by and only went for a beer. It was quite noticeable about the lady, how she treated guests with and without food. Halfway through the beer, she came to ask if we wanted to pay 😁

Metzgerstubn Restaurant Bosnia, Grainau. As we entered this typical Bavarian establishment, we were lucky enough to come across a restaurant that has been in this city for 38 years and was recently passed on to the daughter who took over the responsibility, Bavarian and Bosnian ethnic cuisine at its finest to prepare. If you happen to be in Grainau, after your hike this is a special place to enjoy home cooking with taste and love in every bite. Don't miss this gem!

Not worth a single star! I don't often write reviews but I just have to here. Not recommended. I'll start with the service, slightly overwhelmed and hardly recognizable as a service and not exactly friendly. You didn't really feel comfortable. The food was really terrible! There were two of us and we ordered different things. The garlic bread (1 cheap baguette roll toasted on one side, i.e. half raw, where you pay 45 cents for a pack of 4) with a little garlic on top. The so-called cucumber salad with garlic sauce was just thick, unseasoned cucumber slices with balsamic sauce (nothing with garlic... My companion had unseasoned frozen vegetables. Fries without anything (neither salt nor ketchup). My wine glass was calcified. Not again. Annotation! The visit took place 3 years ago, the review was just never publicly displayed before!

We experienced very friendly service and very good food. The kitchen offers Yugoslavian cuisine but also Bavarian cuisine. All dishes were very tasty. The salads offered are not part of the selected dishes and must be paid for separately. The Lillet Wild Berry, served with fresh fruit, is highly recommended.

Soup with semolina dumplings is not recommended, the dumplings have a strange aftertaste Yugoslavian dishes are delicious and the portions are very large, you will definitely be full :-) Service is relatively quick and the lady is very friendly and does her work with a lot of passion What's not good: you can't pay with a card there and there's no sign of it outside! So after eating you have to walk through the town and look for a bench :-( There would also be veggie food.

We were on a bike tour and came here hungry. Food was very good. I think the waitress was the owner and was really on point and funny 👍 If the opportunity arises again, we would be happy to come back.

My meal itself was quite well prepared. Unfortunately, the service staff was a bit harsh and criticized and rated our choice of food. On top of that, my wife's food wasn't particularly well prepared. The meat loaf and fried potatoes weren't fried properly and didn't last long in the pan in my opinion. The fried onions were also cut very large. Overall, I wouldn't eat there again because I was hoping for more and wasn't treated as a guest as I would like.

The restaurant is by far the best here because of the following points: - the food is delivered in large portions and the food tastes fresh and prepared with love - Kaiserschmarren is prepared even at 9 p.m. (all other restaurants close at 7 p.m.) - The portions are gigantic and very filling Always my pleasure
