Grüner Brauhaus in Fürth

A very nice inn, located under the "Comödie" theater. Reservations are essential, otherwise you have little chance of getting a table at short notice. The food is very good, and the staff is excellent. We'll be back! 👍 Why 4 stars??: Well, you need room to improve! 😉 Nevertheless, it's a must-visit in Fürth. Please go and see for yourselves.

Great restaurant, also suitable for larger parties and especially for before an event at the Comödie Fürth. Excellent Franconian cuisine, friendly service, but reservations are highly recommended. Very fair prices, and the Brauhaus schnitzel is not only superb, but it's also quite a generous portion, filling the entire plate. It's also fair that they're passing on the VAT adjustment to their customers.

Huge portions, good value for money

Grüner Brauhaus in Fürth is a complete success. The Wiener Schnitzel with pretzel breading was the best I've had in the area – perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. That's exactly how a schnitzel should be. The service was very friendly, attentive, and courteous without being intrusive. And to top it off, a really good beer straight from the brewery – full-bodied and expertly brewed. All in all, a well-rounded, authentic pub experience of a very high standard.

We find all the positive reviews rather baffling. After a fun performance at the Kleine Komödie (Little Comedy Theater), we went to our reserved table. The acoustics were incredibly loud; it was difficult to have a conversation. The appetizers arrived after a reasonable wait. The tomato soup was quite tasty, but the Franconian potato soup was almost tasteless. It was fortunate we had the appetizers, because from then on it would take almost 1.5 hours before we got our main course. The neighboring tables filled up; people came, ate, paid, and left again. We waited. During that time, a neighboring table was occupied and then vacated twice… The waitress tried to be understanding, but we didn't really get the feeling that she was trying to do anything about the situation. The schnitzels were "okay," but poorly seasoned, if at all. The vegetarian dish (the only one on the menu) was also very tasteless, and the vegetables were undercooked. When paying, we had to point out once again that we'd already paid for the "Lach-Ma(h)l" (a local specialty). Anyone who thought that was the end of it hadn't reckoned with the Grüner Brauhaus. Back home, there were already three missed calls and a voicemail on my cell phone – the "Lach-Ma(h)l" tickets were needed and had been forgotten. They said sending a photo would suffice. Since we don't live in the same household, we first had to collect the tickets from the other guests. But the next morning, the situation changed again. Now we have to send the tickets by mail after all. A fitting end to the whole affair… we're not getting there. Not even though the owner is trying to sell the "partial" passing on of the VAT reduction as a "price reduction."

Unremarkable from the outside. Inside, a great inn. Nice, friendly staff. Delicious and reasonably priced food. Would gladly return.

A charming, quaint restaurant with very friendly staff, short wait times for orders, large portions at reasonable prices, and of course, the excellent naturally cloudy beer. It doesn't get much better than this. 👍 I always enjoy coming here – even as a Nuremberg native. Reservations are highly recommended. The only downside: The restrooms are completely inadequate for the restaurant's enormous size.

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this place. Portions are getting smaller and smaller despite the price increase. It's also difficult to reach anyone by phone, and the takeaway orders are a disaster. The staff and kitchen are constantly overwhelmed (despite empty tables). You can't pick anything up, but then you have to go there and order takeaway? I don't see the logic in that, especially since we have a two-month-old baby and don't have much time to eat in. It's a shame; we used to be very satisfied and went there often.

The duck is not recommended. My dumpling was cold and had to be reheated. The meat was tough and the skin rubbery. Inside, there was still trachea and lungs; some people at the table felt nauseous. The waiters seemed overwhelmed.

We always got a table, the staff were friendly and quick. However, on the third visit, the food was more suited to seniors (see picture 5), and my husband was disappointed.

A busy Sunday lunchtime trade gave a good feel to the place. Portions looked good, robotic plate carrier innovative. Beer good.

A giant schnitzel with pretzel breading. Enough for two meals. And the price is fair. The only problem is that good home-style cooking in Franconia is unfortunately quite unhealthy, but the restaurant can't be blamed for that.

Consistently excellent quality food and drinks for many years. I recommend the Brauhaus Schnitzel and the Grüner Naturtrüb (a type of unfiltered beer). A little more comfort in some areas would be nice (cushions on the chairs, a bit more music), but all in all, it's top-notch.

The place is "Passt scho". In Franconia, that's a compliment. But the toilets are a joke. I haven't seen anything like that in a long time.

The Grüner Brauhaus is always worth a visit. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is very nice, but there are a few vegetarian dishes. You often see funny sayings on the restaurant's menu, which I think is great.
