Grotes Restaurant in Münster

Wir waren am Wochenende mit Freunden im Grotes Campus in Münster und hatten einen rundum gelungenen Abend. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und hochwertig zubereitet, und der Service war erstklassig: aufmerksam, freundlich und dabei angenehm unaufdringlich. Dazu kommt eine zauberhafte Atmosphäre, in der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Klare Empfehlung - wir kommen sehr gern wieder!

absolut nicht empfehlenswert – 1 von 5 Sternen Wir wollten am Samstag unseren City for Two-Gutschein im Café Grote am Campus einlösen (zwei Getränke zum Preis von einem). Laut Heft war der Gutschein ausdrücklich für Samstag gültig. Vor Ort hieß es jedoch schroff, man nehme samstags keine Gutscheine an – das habe man schließlich ständig. Auf die berechtigte Frage meines Mannes, warum man die Angaben im Heft dann nicht ändern lasse, gab es keinerlei Einsicht. Anstatt lösungsorientiert zu handeln, wurden wir schlichtweg stehen gelassen. Ein Gespräch mit der Geschäftsführung wurde verwehrt; stattdessen wurde behauptet, man rufe die Chefin an. Nach über einer Viertelstunde ohne jede Rückmeldung haben wir das Café verlassen. Das angebliche Telefonat wirkte rein wie eine Ausflucht, um uns hinzuhalten. Zum Abschied gab es von der zweiten Servicekraft – die mit der Situation völlig überfordert schien – noch ein hämisches, unfreundliches Händeklatschen hinterher. Wer plant, einen City for Two-Gutschein einzulösen oder guten Service erwartet, sollte sich den Weg sparen. Das Beschwerdemanagement ist unterirdisch und der Umgang mit Gästen schlicht frech. Für uns sind weder die Filiale am Campus noch die im Kreuzviertel jemals wieder eine Option. Der eine Stern geht einzig an den netten Sitzplatz am Wasser mit dem Springbrunnen – den hat dort im Außenbereich allerdings jedes andere Café genauso. Ansonsten absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Da es hier offenbar Gang und gäbe ist, kritische Stimmen zu entfernen (falls diese Bewertung gelöscht wird, wird sie garantiert umgehend und immer wieder neu eingestellt!) Der Inhaber vonCity for Two wurde informiert wegen nicht Vertrags Einhaltung!

Super freundlicher Service wir hatten eigentlich für draußen reserviert, bei Ankunft war wegen des Regens aber bereits ein Tisch drinnen reserviert, vielen Dank dafür. Speisen sehr lecker und schön angerichtet, gute Auswahl an Getränken, auch viele alkoholfreie Alternativen. Restaurant sehr schön eingerichtet, Terrasse draußen am Wasser konnten wir leider nicht nutzen, sah aber auch super aus. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder ❤️

Leider eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung. Trotz geringer Auslastung haben wir über 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet, ohne darüber informiert zu werden. Nach mehrfacher Nachfrage wurde uns zunächst gesagt, das Essen komme sofort, später stellte sich heraus, dass unsere Bestellung gar nicht an die Küche weitergeleitet worden war. Besonders ärgerlich war die Situation, da meine Begleitung hochschwanger war und wir bei hohen Temperaturen lange warten mussten. Als wir schließlich gehen wollten, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das Essen weiterhin nicht zeitnah serviert werden könne. Trotzdem sollten wir die Getränke vollständig bezahlen. Angesichts der Umstände fanden wir das nicht angemessen. Ein professionellerer Umgang mit dem Fehler und mehr Transparenz wären wünschenswert gewesen.

Von der Tisch Reservierung,über den Service und das ( in unserem Fall) Kuchenangebot bis zum spontanen Tischwechsel ( doch lieber drsussen) war alles top! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt... und kommen garantiert wieder. Danke für einen schönen Nachmittag!

Wir haben das selbstgebackene Brot mit den Hausdips gegessen sehr genossen. Das Ambiente war sehr angenehm. Der Service war schnell und sehr freundlich. Es hat uns Spaß gemacht.

Schön gelegen mit einer Terrasse direkt am Wasser. Kleiner Karte mit einer guten Auswahl aber Recht hochpreisig. Der Grote Burger mit Süßkartoffel Pommes war okay. Die Limonade sehr lecker. Die Bedienung wirkte etwas verunsichert und es gab Besteck und die bestellte Mayo nur auf Nachfrage. Servietten gab es trotz Nachfrage nur eine pro Tisch. Alles in allem ein nettes Lokal, würde das Frühstücksbuffet nochmal testen ansonsten hat es mich nicht überzeugt.

Ein leckeren, großen Salat und leckere Schorle, freundliches und aufmerksames Personal.

Unsere Familie hatte Ostersonntag ein Tisch für 15 Personen bestellt, leider ist diese Reservierung vergessen worden und wir mussten wieder gehen, was natürlich an so einem Tag sehr ärgerlich gewesen ist wo man mal wieder Zeit hat sich mit der ganzen Familie zu treffen!!! Wir waren sonst immer bei Crotes im Kreuzviertel und waren immer zu frieden mit dem Essen und Service!!! Ich hoffe das der Dame der dieser Fehler unterlaufen ist, dementsprechend wenigstens eine Abmahnung erfolgt ist...die uns telefonisch versichert hat das alles klar läuft!!! Wir werden es bestimmt nochmal probieren...in der Hoffnung das es beim nächsten mal klappt!!!

Auf unsere Getränke mussten wir auch gar nicht lange warten. Preis-Leistung passt hier voll und ganz. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall bald wieder und können es nur empfehlen!

Waren heute (Ostern) zum Fühstücksbuffet vor Ort. Für den Preis war das Buffet absolut in Ordnung. Es gab die Standardauswahl ohne irgendwelche Besonderheiten. Es gab wohl eine Suppe in einem nicht wirklich einsehbaren Topf, der nicht beschriftet war und so hat eigentlich niemand etwas davon genommen. Die Getränke waren lecker und das Personal sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Super Frühstück und toller Service Kommen gerne wieder

Wir waren heute zum Osterbrunch eingeladen und hatten uns sehr darauf gefreut – leider wurde die Vorfreude durch einen enttäuschenden Service getrübt. Die Qualität der Speisen war grundsätzlich in Ordnung, und das Ambiente ist nach wie vor ansprechend. Doch bereits kurz nach unserer Ankunft fiel auf, dass das Servicepersonal völlig überfordert wirkte. Die Mitarbeiter liefen zwar geschäftig umher, doch schien kaum jemand zu wissen, wofür er zuständig ist – das Ergebnis war ein ziemliches Chaos. Benutzte Teller blieben teilweise über die gesamte Mahlzeit hinweg auf den Tischen stehen, niemand kümmerte sich darum, sie abzuräumen. Man saß buchstäblich zwischen dem Geschirr mehrerer Gänge, was die Atmosphäre doch erheblich trübte. Auf Nachfrage beim Personal ernteten wir nur ein achselzuckendes „Bin gleich da” – aus dem „gleich” wurden dann weitere 15 Minuten. Das Buffet selbst wurde kaum kontrolliert und nur äußerst schleppend nachgefüllt. Wir warteten gut und gerne 30 Minuten, bis die leere Rühreistation wieder bestückt wurde, obwohl mehrere Gäste das Personal darauf hingewiesen hatten. Auch bei den Backwaren und Aufschnitt gab es lange Engpässe. Insgesamt zog sich alles quälend langsam hin – von der Begrüßung bis zum Nachfüllen von Getränken. Für den aufgerufenen Preis darf man deutlich mehr erwarten, besonders an einem Feiertag, an dem ein erhöhtes Gästeaufkommen für jeden vorhersehbar sein sollte. Schade, denn das Potenzial wäre durchaus da.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Wir waren schon öfter zum Frühstücksbuffet dort. Die Qualität der Speisen ist gut, das Ambiente auch. Leider hält der Service nicht mit, da das Buffet nur sehr nachlässig aufgefüllt wird. Heute am Ostersonntag mussten zig Gäste z.B. 20 Minuten auf die Käseplatte und 40 Minuten auf das Rührei warten. Einige Gäste bekamen auf entsprechende Nachfrage patzige bis freche Antworten vom Servicepersonal. Das war kein schönes Erlebnis.

Super gemütlich, angenehmes Ambiente, freundliches Personal und das beste Schorle!

Wir waren mit 38 Freunden zum Frühstücken heute da, um einen Geburtstag zu feiern. Der Morgen ging schon enttäuschend los , da es eine Überraschung war , waren wir natürlich etwas früher als 10.30 Uhr da bedient wird man,obwohl der Laden nicht voll war erst ab 10.30 Uhr . Das Frühstück lässt viele Träume offen von Buffet kann man nicht reden. Der Aufschnitt war lange leer , die Brötchen wirklich schlecht. Von der Auswahl ganz zu schweigen. Es war wirklich nicht viel los, die Männer haben Bier bestellt. Auf einmal gab es kein Bitburger mehr da keine saubere Gläser mehr da waren ( 7 Männer), also eine andere Bier Sorte trinken. Kleine Löffel zum Jogurt oder Obstsalat gab es nicht, die waren nur für den Kaffee da. Unglaublich. Teller wurden nur auf Nachfrage abgeräumt. Nach erneutem langen Warten auf das Bier , wurde nachgefragt mal wieder keine sauberen Gläser, es wurde unserem Unmut über diese Situation kundgetan daraufhin wurden wir des Lokals verwiesen, aufgefordert zu zahlen und dann gehen. WENN IHR WIRKLICH GUT VERSORGT UND BEDIENT WERDEN WOLLT MACHT EUER FRÜHSTÜCK LIEBER ZU HAUSE SELBER. Sehr Enttäuscht wieder zu Hause

Der Kaffee ist hervorragend und der Service immer freundlich, aufmerksam und gut gelaunt. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und gemütlich, perfekt für einen guten Start in den Tag. Wir kommen immer wieder gern – uneingeschränkte Empfehlung

Grotes ist perfekt für einzelne Gäste und auch größere Gruppen.

Erstes Mal dort zum Abendessen. Die Karte ist klein, aber fein. Es war sehr lecker und die Portionen sehr ordentlich. Einziges Manko: es war recht kühl vor Ort, daher nicht so gemütlich. Wir kommen wieder. Auf jeden Fall spätestens im Sommer ...

Es lohnt sich bei großes zu Frühstücken. An Samstag und Sonntag und Feiertagen gibt es dafür ein spezielles Frühstücksbuffet. Wir waren gestern das erste mal bei Grotes am Germania Campus und kommen gerne wieder.

Als alter Grotes Fan aus dem Kreuzviertel fehlt hier zwar derselbe Grad an Gemütlichkeit, aber auch dieses Ambiente passt. Essen solide um reichlich. Service flott und sehr freundlich!

Frühstück gut. Bedienung freundlich. Ambiente modern. Wir hatten einen Blick auf die Eisbahn, im Dezember. Parkplätze ausreichend Samstag vormittag. Alles zufriedenstellend.

Wir waren zum Brunchen an einem Samstag dort (inkl Kleinkind von 3 Jahren). Die angebotenen Lebensmittel waren gut und wurden frisch nachgelegt (insbesondere Speck und Rührei). Es gab ein Körnerbrot, 2 kleine Arten Aufbackbrötchen, Laugenkastanien und kleine, mit Käse überbackene Brötchen, zudem Natur/Soja-Joghurt/Milch, Obst, Gemüse, Müsli, Cornflakes, verschiedene Marmeladen, ... Das übliche. Der Service war ebenfalls aufmerksam und die Getränke wurden schnell geliefert. Auf dem Germania Campus ist ein kleiner Sand-Spielbereich, welche für Kinder super als Pause genutzt werden kann. Im Café selbst gibt es keine Spielecke (Platz dafür wäre es aber 😊). Ebenfalls gibt's keine Wickelmöglichkeiten bei dem WCs im Untergeschoss. Auch gab es dort kein Tisch, der spontan umfunktioniert werden könnte. Ein Hundennapf stand in der Ecke, Hunde sind also wohl willkommen. Update nach der Antwort: Ich habe nach WCs im oberen Bereich nicht gefragt, für mich waren sie auch nicht offensichtlich direkt zu finden. Aber wenn's da ein Wickelmöglichkeiten gibt, ist's toll! :)

Wir waren dort zum frühstücken. Das Buffet ist reichhaltig und sehr lecker, es könnte allerdings mehr vegane Auswahlmöglichkeiten geben. Gegen einen kleinen Aufpreis und Vorbestellung werden glutenfreie Produkte angeboten. Der Service war freundlich.

A nice restaurant with a select menu—although our salad was missing the marinated fennel, the main reason for the salad. However, due to system issues, nothing could be done about the bill, and we paid it anyway. It's a bit odd to pay for something I didn't eat at a restaurant of this quality and price range.

As always, very friendly staff and excellent food. Plus, the atmosphere around the Kreuzkirche church – unique!

I love eating at Grotes. I feel very comfortable there and the food is super tasty and more than standard. Plus, it's always a great opportunity to go out to dinner with your partner or your girls and spend a few quality hours.

If a gluten-free diet is desired, then this location should not be chosen. Even after telephone reassurance the day before as to whether the gluten-free breakfast would work, we were unfortunately disappointed in the morning. Otherwise great for all other guests without a gluten-free diet.

+ Food was delicious + Highly recommend sweet potato curry and green patty + Service very friendly + Reservation online and card payment possible - too expensive - value for money is not right. Curry for €18 small and without rice or bread - Desserts not recommended - overall we waited a very long time for drinks and food

We've loved coming here for years. Besides the beautiful ambiance, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff are a real highlight. And the food is truly amazing. As I said, we've loved coming here for years. The menu is a perfect blend of concise and varied. From the ambitious meat eater to the committed vegan, everyone will find something to their liking here. We've actually been able to make everyone from children with strange eating habits to grandmas and grandpas who only really like home-cooked food happy with a visit to Grotes.

We have been here several times for the breakfast buffet and have been completely satisfied every time. The atmosphere is super nice, the staff are always friendly, the food is delicious and the selection is completely sufficient. The buffet is small, but there is something for everyone. You're welcome to keep it up!

We missed outstanding service, fresh fruit, quark and fish. It was very comfortable, but it was relatively loud when the breakfast buffet was being cleared away.

We went to this great restaurant with our friends on December 30, 2024, based on a recommendation. The food, starting with a starter platter, the main course and the dessert, was a poem. The staff was very attentive and no wish was left unfulfilled. We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Münster. Kind regards from Magdeburg

Great restaurant, friendly service. Appetizer: Eggplant quinoa tartare was delicious, but it just came from the fridge. Main course: The braised beef cheeks were very tasty, but the portion was too small for a price over €30. Penne with beef sirloin strips and the vegetarian penne...The pesto was so dominant that we could hardly taste the herb mushrooms and other ingredients. The dish can be improved, just please add less pesto and less salt to the pasta. But we'd love to come back,

Very nice restaurant in Münster, our food at the Christmas party was very tasty, at the same time and to the point. Since I avoid alcohol, I was happy about the delicious lemonade! The only negative thing is that the rooms quickly become loud, even if we weren't the largest group. I always pay attention to this because I'm a bit susceptible to it, so if you don't care about it, you can ignore it.

The breakfast buffet is rich in choice and freshness. The service was very nice and attentive. The place is clean and the pre-Christmas decorations are really nice. The draft alone caused by guests constantly opening and closing the front door was unpleasant now in the winter. My friends and I actually froze something.

Unfortunately 9/10 food at the table was not served on warm plates. Therefore all main courses were only lukewarm. Please install plate warmers in the kitchen and a thermal bridge at the pass. But the meal itself was very successful. For beef cheeks, I recommend reconsidering the side dish of red cabbage salad, as it doesn't fit so harmoniously with the cheeks and gratin. Service was very friendly and attentive

Das Frühstücksbuffet ist toll! Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, das Ambiente passt auch. Der Preis ist völlig angemessen. Nicht schön war die sehr laute Atmosphäre. Selbst an einem kleinen zweier Tisch musste man sehr laut sprechen, damit das Gegenüber einen verstehen kann. Hier würden bestimmt Raumtrenner oder Akustikelemente an den Wänden und Decken helfen.

On Friday evening we made a reservation online and were able to "register" someone by phone shortly beforehand - a good start, not every restaurant is so flexible. While there was a larger party in the next room, presumably a wedding, the three of us sat at the front and were warmly welcomed and served in an equally friendly and professional manner. Due to the company we had to wait a bit, but the drinks came quickly and we had a bit of peace and quiet to chat - not bad either :) The food was great, good quality and with surprisingly generous portions - we had pasta with pesto, a Viennese schnitzel with potato salad and the pork medallions, all three dishes were really good, plenty of bread with dips beforehand and two small starters, which were also very tasty. The homemade lemonades are also highly recommended! All in all a nice and delicious evening, we would love to come back!

We had a really great evening (birthday party) at Grotes. The food was extremely tasty, there was a good selection of drinks and the service was super friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back next time we're in Münster!

Great breakfast buffet on the weekend, very nice service!

I was here yesterday with a good friend. It was a very pleasant evening. The portions are really big! That's why I'm half-okay with the prices, which aren't entirely unreasonable either. I had the sweet potato gnochi with paprika almond sauce, unfortunately the sauce didn't taste like anything, but the pine nuts and parmesan took over the heavy lifting of the flavors. It was okay but I probably wouldn't order it again because I just don't think the price is appropriate for it. My companion had the walnut patties and they were really great, the vegetables on the side were a bit random but not bad. The service was okay, attentive, asked a little too often if we wanted something more to drink. It was still a very nice evening and I think I would go here again :)!

Good food but there is always a problem. No walk-in customers. For “large” groups of 9 people, you can only choose from a small menu. Quite a joke. You can't just go to Grotes and eat.

Grotes is one of the best restaurants in Münster, high quality food and service are standard here but there is always something tasty on the menu for vegetarian guests too. Of course, the price is reflected on the bill, but the price-performance ratio is still good! To eat, everything was very tasty, fried to perfection, seasoned, but there was only one thing I didn't like: the fruit level in the cheesecake!

Wir haben zur Taufe unserer Tochter hier gefeiert und hatten ein hervorragendes Essen. Was wir besonders erwähnen möchten, ist die Herzlichkeit und uneingeschränkte Professionalität des Services. Das Service ist jederzeit auf unsere Bedürfnisse eingegangen und auch Kinder sind hier sehr willkommen. Wo man woanders Angst hat aufgrund lauter Geräusche negativ aufzufallen, konnte man sich hier sicher sein, verständnisvoll und liebenswürdig behandelt zu werden. Hier macht jemand ihren Job mit Hingabe und mag die Arbeit mit Menschen. Danke, dass Sie diesen Tag für uns und unsere Tochter besonders gemacht haben.

Absolut begeistert!! Die Bedienung ist super freundlich und professionell. Das Essen ist erste Klasse und wir mussten selbst bei vollem Haus nicht lange darauf warten. Das Preisniveau ist leicht angehoben aber das ist bei dieser Qualität absolut nachvollziehbar!

The price-performance ratio is not good. If you charge more than €20 for pasta and salad dishes alone, then everything has to be right. I can't judge whether it's really sustainable, but regardless, it's still overpriced. For this price you expect a high gastronomic experience and not something like cutlery glasses like in a pure burger joint. For the price and longer waiting times, you could at least offer small snacks. The meat was also very dry. I wouldn't go there a second time.

I had breakfast there twice within several weeks. The food was fresh and of good quality, but unfortunately both times the buffet was completely empty almost the entire time and was only rarely refilled and we were only able to get some items from the menu Didn't get it at all, which really frustrated us for the price because we were left with empty plates several times. It's a shame but we won't go there for breakfast anymore :(

We were there today with five people for dinner at 6 p.m. We waited two hours for the food. The food then arrived with a delay. That the first ones were finished when the last person at the table got their dish. Our daughter's chicken breast fillet was raw inside. That really disgusted her. The service staff was friendly and tried very hard and apologized several times. Nevertheless, the mood was there.

Waren dass erste mal hier und werden aufjedenfall öfter kommen! Das Abendessen und die Heißgetränke waren sehr lecker!! Wird definitiv weiterempfohlen !:)

We had reserved a table for 6 people online and were greeted very friendly. We could even have chosen the table. The food was excellent and the service staff was very attentive. A bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but the detour is worth it.

Went there for brunch was great

We were here on Saturday for the breakfast buffet. The selection is manageable, but also sufficient. Many types of cheese, cold cuts, two vegan spreads (homemade and very tasty), caprese, scrambled eggs, bacon, meat salad (finished product), jams, yogurt (natural and soy), homemade granola, cereals, bread, croissants and rolls. On top of that there is homemade lemonade, iced tea and orange juice. All of this for €15.50 is totally fine. Only coffee is separate. The service is very attentive and friendly. The buffet is also replenished quickly. The only point of criticism (unfortunately so important for me that I deducted a star): the rolls were unfortunately dry and crumbly. Unfortunately they weren't crispy and therefore didn't come across as fresh. A pity! You would have totally caught me with a great bun. You still have potential here.

The breakfast buffet was really tasty and there was enough choice. Oh yes and the coffee there is the best in Münster 😁

Price performance ratio bad. Too expensive for the food offered. The burrata I ordered was mini and hard, no liquid core.

Despite the information on the homepage and the information when making the reservation, no gluten-free rolls/bread were available on the date. A pity. Unfortunately, sorry didn't help me at this point.

3 weken voor de geplande datum telefonisch gereserveerd voor 12 personen. Op de dag zelf nog even de tijd gecheckt hoe laat we precies verwacht werden. Tijdens dat telefoontje bleek de reservering niet verwerkt te zijn. Het restaurant bleek niet bereid een oplossing te zoeken. Ook weinig empatisch. We zouden maar een ander restaurant moeten zoeken. Dat is op de eerste zonnige zaterdag onbegonnen werk. Toch een domper op ons bezoek aan de stad.

We were there for brunch. We came from Bonn specifically for this reason. Our online reservation for 10:00 a.m. was confirmed to us by email, but when we arrived at the restaurant we were informed that we had to leave the table at 12:00 p.m. We didn't know this because the internet says a time period from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We were very upset because of this, especially because we had to travel such a long way. We were told that it is assumed that the guests know this restaurant. This is of course not okay if you make a reservation from Bonn and then this is not pointed out when you make the reservation. The food and service were very good. We were then suggested to change tables at 12:00 p.m., but we declined. I think the guests who had reserved at 12:00 p.m. could have been seated at this one table. However, it was obviously explicitly about our table. So that was a very big nuisance. Otherwise we really liked it

We went for Sunday breakfast on the recommendation of a friend, but unfortunately the overall experience was pretty disappointing. The staff was very friendly and tried hard but was hopelessly overwhelmed. At the buffet you had to constantly wait for something to be refilled, this applied to both food and drink as well as cutlery and crockery. The drinking chocolate, which we waited a long time for, turned out to be hot milk with schogetten served with it. This is not drinking chocolate. There is chocolate that is meant to be dissolved in milk, but you just don't make satisfying cocoa with Schogetten. Finally, I found the selection rather poor, especially for the increased price of €17. There was a small selection of cheeses and the only hot dishes other than soup were scrambled eggs and bacon (which of course were almost always out of stock. There were no pancakes or waffles, as you often get at other buffets, but only two machines where you could make your own poffertjes. Since this takes a long time and all guests have to share the devices, I don't think it's a replacement. We then had to wait for the dough to be refilled. A few positive notes: The food was definitely very tasty and of high quality. There was a variety of bread, pretzels and croissants, salmon and trout with matching sauces. As I said, the staff was very friendly. Overall, not bad, but I would have expected a lot more. There would be 5 stars if the organizational problems with refilling were solved, the cocoa was made sensibly, there was a larger selection of cheese and perhaps a few chutneys, and in addition to the poffertjes machines, waffles or pancakes were simply ready to eat. At that price it's only enough for 3 stars, and that's only because the service was so friendly.

Food well done, staff in the kitchen very loud!
