Exactly what you would imagine a proper brewery to be.

Everything was very, very good: food, drinks, service, prices. I'm absolutely thrilled. I'd gladly come again.

Got two seats without a reservation. We had a delicious goose dinner. The price was right. Our dog was welcome. We'd gladly come again. ...oh yes, the bock beer is also highly recommended.

An old, traditional brewery in Darmstadt with a special charm and excellent beers – popular with tourists as well as locals and visitors. If you're planning to dine with more than two people, it's advisable to reserve a table, especially in the evenings, as Grohe gets very busy after 6:00 PM. (There is an additional room on the first floor and another in the courtyard, but these are also usually very crowded during peak hours.) The food is also delicious and quite varied and creative! Come in and find out for yourself. (Visited in November 2025)

A lovely brewery with good, home-brewed beers and delicious traditional Hessian cuisine. The food is really good, but not outstanding. I come here regularly to spend a pleasant evening with business partners.

Grohe is a quaint, traditional brewery. The bock beer tastes great. Super friendly service. Drinks arrived quickly. We were there today for goose. A complete success. The goose was fantastic. Tender and juicy, with crispy skin. The dumplings and red cabbage were delicious. The portions are huge. The only thing I would have said was that the gravy was a bit too thick and a little too sweet. Otherwise, perfect. Thanks to the team, we'll be back soon. Best regards, Martin

In summer, you can sit comfortably under ⛱ umbrellas in the courtyard of this traditional brewery and barely notice the traffic outside. A wide selection of home-made 🍺 beers from the barrel. In addition to the main menu, there are seasonal food specials. Very attentive and courteous staff! 👍 🚾 in top condition, so all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

The Grohe Brauhaus is a cult favorite! If you haven't laughed, cried, and eaten and drunk well here, you haven't been to Darmstadt! The beer garden in the brewery courtyard or the rustic restaurant still serve you with warmth and hospitality. We're always happy to return. The completely renovated hall on the first floor is the new insider tip!

Food and environment are amazing. Prepare to tip more, I tipped 2 euro but I guess the waitress expected more, it was not a good experience.

The Grohe Brauhaus is a traditional brewery serving rustic, traditional cuisine. The beer garden is nice and quiet, even though it's located on a main road. The service is excellent. The waitresses always had a quick joke ready and were super friendly, courteous, and attentive. The knuckle of pork was one of the best, and the burger was juicy and truly filling. Special requests were accommodated and fulfilled. The lager is one of the best beers I've ever tasted. Only the wheat beer was less impressive. It's definitely worth a visit again.

Brauhaus Grohe is a place of refined hospitality. The waitresses are very busy and bring food and drinks quickly. The beer garden, located directly outside the entrance, is an excellent place to eat, as you can sit somewhat shielded from the street noise. Smaller dishes like Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) are also available. The restrooms are absolutely clean! A highly recommended restaurant.

Since the change of tenant a few years ago, it's been great again. Best beer in town.

I ordered schnitzel with onions and bacon, it was brought very hot, really straight from the frying pan. Very tasty, juicy and crispy. The portion is very large. I also ordered strudel, I didn't like it, as if it was heated up. Because of which the dough became like paste. And the apples are sour. I would advise the restaurant to change the chairs, which are extremely heavy, old and very uncomfortable. Otherwise, the atmosphere is very positive, the staff is polite and responsive.

We love the brewery and its food...great as a stop, during or after a shopping trip. A beer and a Steppel Flaaschworschd...great, the spicy mustard in the jar!👍...but the slice of orange as a lid doesn't really suit the dish. 🥴 For decoration and protection, a lettuce leaf with a gherkin or a slice of onion on top would be a better fit for the rustic Grohe charm. Brauhaus Grohe was a truly pleasant surprise! The service was excellent from the start – the gentleman who served us was very friendly and gave us wonderful advice. I mentioned that I can't stand wheat beer, and he recommended a delicious beer that suited me perfectly. My friend ordered a Duppel Dunkel, which had an interesting hint of whiskey. The food was also excellent. We tried a tarte flambée with pears and walnuts – simply delicious. We also ordered a dish for two, which was so generous that it fed the three of us. In total, we only paid €65, including drinks. For us, this was the best value of our entire trip. We'll definitely be back!

Recommended for a relaxed beer and good Hessian home cooking. I had the schnitzel filled with liver sausage, delicious. My wife had the cooked cheese schnitzel, it's a shame that the cooked cheese was served cold in a glass. You should definitely make a reservation

We were here for a company party: delicious Hessian food. Everyone was satisfied and happily full after the meal. The beer tastes smooth and spicy, even if you're not necessarily a "beer drinker". We had ordered a barrel, which our bosses tapped with loud cheers. The fun alone was worth it!

We were at Grohe with our hiking group on Tuesday, everyone was thrilled, so a week later we were at Grohe again on Tuesday with our almost complete group, everyone was thrilled, our conclusion: you have to order and taste the very tasty beer sample at least once. My favorite is Märzen!

Went there on a Sunday at lunchtime without a reservation. Waiter was alone with a full shop and really had it under control. Food was very good and fairly priced. We'll be back, also because of the delicious beer.

Hello everyone, Yesterday I had dinner with my friend in Grohe. I had reserved a table (I recommend it to everyone!) and everything went smoothly. To my great surprise, I sat on the first floor for the first time, a great room and a nice atmosphere there, it was really great. Great service upstairs too, the food was really great (we had knuckle and schnitzel filled with liver sausage) and very tasty and plentiful. Price-performance ratio totally great and harmonious. I would love to come back, everything went great and my visit was a successful evening. Can only recommend it. Greetings to the team for the great service.

A cozy, rustic brewery with dark wall paneling and rustic furnishings. An extensive menu with great Hessian dishes, lots of meat, but there is also something for vegetarians. And of course the wonderfully delicious beer in different varieties. In short "I love it!" 🤩 I would also like to mention the very friendly staff.

The Grohe has been a must for us for many years. Before Christmas, friends meet in the evening at the Darmstadt Christmas market and move to the traditional restaurant around 8 p.m. The beer is delicious and I remember the student saying “TH drinks from this source.” The food is also great, hearty and very sausage and meat-heavy. I find the selection of vegetarian dishes too small. The parking situation is a challenge. If you can't park on Nieder-Ramstädter Str., you have to go to the parking garage or one of the new parking zones for me. There is a 2-hour parking zone right in the district "behind" the Grohe until late at night, a little further away a 3-hour parking zone and a little further away a 4-hour parking zone until 9 p.m. Half an hour cost 75 cents. As much as I appreciate public transport in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, there are connections to the north of Frankfurt/Offenbach district (RMV - only a half-hour S-Bahn connection during the day, only hourly in the evening; bus only from Darmstadt-Arheilgen). unattractive and expensive. Unfortunately there is no bike for 6 people in winter viable alternative. My conclusion: The Grohe is my favorite location in Darmstadt. Darmstadt's restrictive parking situation makes the city unattractive for visitors from the surrounding area.

We had dinner in the dining room downstairs (the one with the wood-panelled walls) at lunchtime on a weekday. Real brewery atmosphere with typical, hearty brewery food. There's nothing wrong with that! The service was quick, friendly and competent.

Great service! We regularly asked whether everything was still OK and replenished items were provided within a very short time. Just the way you want it! Food also came very promptly and was delicious. The lighting could be improved to make the atmosphere more comfortable.

The restaurant/brewery taproom has been a 'must' in Darmstadt for decades. The beer tastes delicious, is drinkable and is unbeatable as a draft beer. The dishes on offer are Hessian classics and are all a delight. The service corresponds to the level of the beers served... hearty, solid and original. Whether in winter or summer, the beers are always tasty and true to Darmstadt anyway. A real cult pub.

Wedding celebration in Grohe! We celebrated our wedding in the "Barn". Thanks to the nice owners and the even nicer staff, it was super easy to plan and discuss everything the way we wanted. The food, service and ambience impressed us during the celebration. After a few days we had feedback from our guests and everyone was satisfied. So... Grohe - great!

Typically Grohe, a well-known brewery beyond Darmstadt, with great beers and good food. Without a reservation there is no point in going with several people as it is always very crowded. The service is also friendly and prompt, although it was very busy and it went quickly.

It's always worth a visit when driving through, to get off the motorway, have a good meal and of course buy very good, tasty beer directly from the microbrewery. The Brauhaus Grohe is the first address for me in Darmstadt if I want to enjoy good local cuisine and spend a nice evening with friends. You are guaranteed to get excellent beer and really good home-style dishes here. The only thing I wouldn't eat here is the Kässpätzle because they're spelled incorrectly and come with dried onions and no salad, but I would never order them outside of the Spätzleländle anyway. A variety of Hessian and Rhenish culinary delicacies await you here. Clean it and cheers!

Those who like beer have come to the right place...

The plan was to eat goose - goose breast with dumplings, sauce and Brussels sprouts, a lamb's lettuce with raspberry dressing first, and a hefeweizen with it. It was so delicious - and a really generous portion! In my opinion, goose is always a bit tricky because it tends to be dry - but this goose breast was as it should be: juicy and tender! Plus a nice thick sauce to portion yourself, two dumplings and a bowl of creamed Brussels sprouts. A great meal! We sat comfortably on the 1st floor (reserved in advance). The background noise is quite present - but that's to be expected with a full house. We were still able to have a great chat. All I can say about the service is: great! Very attentive but not intrusive, extremely friendly and relaxed. Thanks to the kitchen and “our” two service boys (Matthias and ?) - thanks to you we had a really nice evening!

Really a lovely old inn/brewery with charm. Food was delicious and you didn't have to wait long. Unfortunately, the tables and chairs were very tightly packed together. As a result, the noise level was slightly higher. Service was friendly and attentive. Parking is difficult, but there is a parking garage about 5 minutes away (center parking garage). Not suitable for people with wheelchairs. Entrance has stairs and toilet in the basement.
