Griechisches Restaurant Rhodos in Waren (Müritz)

We dined there with a couple of friends during the week and were able to get a seat on the fully occupied terrace when the weather was very good. Magnificent water views. That was the positive. The waiter was friendly at first, but then unfortunately became pushy and supposedly funny. The food delivered was disappointing across the board. I give the kitchen credit for the fact that all the seats were occupied and the kitchen was therefore overwhelmed. The liver is very thin and fried completely hard. The pork steak was also fried to death. There was difficulty cutting. The gyro was also totally hard and partly burnt black. Inedible. The rice was quite soft and largely tasteless. The salad is something you'd only know from a mediocre Fritzenbude, but it's not worthy of a restaurant. Only my wife's bifteki was okay and tasty. I've had several decades of life behind me now, but I've never had such bad Greek food. I hope that the quality is significantly better outside of the season and/or when the number of guests is moderate. But now it says: absolutely NOT recommended. Sorry!

Last Saturday evening I had the opportunity to visit the Greek restaurant Rhodes in Waren. Despite the well-filled terrace, we were quickly offered a table by the friendly and attentive staff, which left a positive first impression. Unfortunately, this impression didn't last long when it came to choosing the dishes. The menu was rather disappointing and offered few surprises or special dishes that one might expect from a Greek restaurant. My wife chose a Greek salad, but it was sprinkled with dried herbs and quite uninspired. I would have liked more freshness and creativity here. My main course, consisting of gyros, souvlaki skewers and rice, was also underwhelming. The rice was watery and tasteless, while the souvlaki skewers were fried too dry. The gyro was OK, but by no means outstanding. The tzatziki didn't impress me in terms of taste either and remained average. The food was overall disappointing, especially compared to the rather high prices. The restaurant's greatest strength remains its location with the beautiful view, which undoubtedly attracts many guests. Overall, however, the evening was rather mediocre for me and the Rhodes restaurant will probably not be my first choice on my next visit to Waren.

I've eaten in many Greek restaurants, including in Greece, but I've never eaten such bad Greek food. The liver was like the sole of a shoe and the fries were completely over-salted. It would be a shame to serve something like that. It would never happen to me in Greece

The restaurant is in a very chic location with the best view of the Müritz... Unfortunately - apart from the prices - it doesn't do justice to the very good location. The food was tasty - but we've eaten better Greek. The waiter became really rude when paying - it was only then that it was revealed to us that card payment was not possible.

Rhodes Teller:Gyros was trash. The spit was fried to death. You couldn't go wrong with tzatziki. I will never visit this restaurant again. Disaster!!!!

The food is basically okay. However, you won't be surprised at how great the food tastes. Typically Germanized, Greek food without any pizzazz. The tzatziki starter was great. The tzatziki on the plate with gyros was somehow different. The service seems a bit unfriendly, although one or two of the employees get a kind of smile on their faces when the weather is good. The location is very good if you sit outside. In my opinion the prices are far too high for the quality. Conclusion: If you want to spend a lot of money for little Greek food in a good location, this is the right place given the lack of Greek alternatives.

My absolute favorite Greek restaurant for years. I can't say anything more about it.

Unfortunately, in our opinion, the food was a bit too bland. The service was good and the staff was nice, however there was only one ouzo to start with. All in all it was okay.

A typical Greek in Germany. We came here spontaneously and managed to get one last spot. It took a while to place the order, but the food came very quickly and tasted good too. The only drawback was that a repeat order and the payment request were not passed on by the same person both times and we had to place both orders again. All in all we were satisfied and more than full.

Unfortunately the restaurant has become a purely tourist restaurant. Bad service, good food, high prices. Conclusion, unfortunately no longer recommended.

Puh, das war echt schwierig. Das Restaurant scheint sich zum Ziel gesetzt zu haben mit günstigster Qualität viele Touris abzuspeisen. Gyros und Reis waren OK, Fleisch war trocken und überwürzt. Das Hacksteak vom Schwein habe ich wieder ausgespuckt. Ich fragte Eingangs nach einem Plomari auf Eis als Starter. Der Kellner fragte, wo er einen Plomari herbekommen solle, den gibs in Griechenland … und er hätte mal bei Edeka einen gesehen. Am Ende war der Ouzu auf Eis derselbe, wie der Ouzu vorweg und hinterher aufs Haus. Keinerlei Emulsion im Eis, bin mir nicht sicher, ob da Anis drin war, nicht trinkbar, süßer Sprit. Bat am Ende um Kartenzahlung, da wurds dann ganz eng mit der Freundlichkeit. Es flogen noch zwei Lolli f. d. Kids und zwei Ouzu auf den Tisch, die Gläser schön am Trinkrand getragen. Wir haben sie stehen lassen. Ich habe keine Ahnung, warum der Laden brechend voll ist. Vermutlich wegen der recht günstigen Preise für Waren oder den Unmengen an gratis Pseudo-Ouzo. Wirklich schade, ich liebe die griechische Küche, mit Leidenschaft und guten Produkten wäre das eine Goldgrube die allen Spaß machen würde.

The two of us had dinner at the Rhodes restaurant. The view from the terrace over the Müritz was very nice. The waiters were friendly and there was an ouzo and a salad before and after the meal. Payment was possible in cash and by card. We both had something gratinated with “Greek brsr potatoes”, but these were very greasy and full of crème fraîche, which was a bit annoying after two spoonfuls.

...I always thought that the restaurant might not participate in the exorbitant and constant price increases for whatever reason (..simple gyros e.g. 20 euros or a few baked broad beans 18 euros...well! ) ... as is unfortunately common in goods everywhere....but unfortunately that wasn't the case... Food tends to be mass-produced...at least that's my opinion...we still like to be there because of the good view of the Binnenmüritz...in the summer it's a very good place to enjoy a nice Bitburger and the fresh air...over the We'd better keep quiet about the price of that now...😉...Better Greek food is more popular in Malchow...in winter, when you can't sit outside anymore... I think the review was honest...

It's been a long time since I've had such good gyros, nice and crispy on the outside but still tasty and juicy 10/10

That doesn't have much to do with a Greek. Hardly any starters (probably because they are always prepared fresh), everything is gratinated (probably to disguise it), white cheese is offered (which is the cheap cow's milk alternative to real feta made from sheep's cheese). All of this suggests that the cheapest ingredients, frozen ingredients, of reduced quality are being offered. After ordering the drinks, we immediately ran away and didn't eat anything. Incidentally, the menu at the entrance is covered with plastic plants in such a way that you only notice all of this when you sit at the table. As a Greek restaurateur, I would otherwise have avoided this restaurant from the start.

We were there for dinner. On the whole we were satisfied.

Very nice service, food was great, we were not charged for the ouzo that was served to us before and after our meal. We will go there again and recommend it to others.

A great restaurant with a great view over the Binnenmüritz. The food was very tasty and the service was very friendly. The prices are completely okay. When the sun is shining you can think you are in Greece.

Unfortunately the service wasn't the least bit spotty. At least one of the three gentlemen. The food didn't taste good at all either. Only cream with no taste on the plate. I can't recommend it to anyone.

Leider war es sehr voll, wir hatten dennoch 2 Plätze ergattert ~ bei der Bestellung der Getränke hörte die (unfreundliche) Bedienung nicht richtig zu und brachte etwas falsches … Änderungen in der Bestellung wurden nicht akzeptiert… es musste mind. Ein Hauptgericht bestellt werden, nur Vorspeise war nicht möglich.. die Speisen waren dann leider sehr gewöhnlich - viel Krautsalat als Füllmaterial, Dressing aus der Flasche und Fleisch viel zuvorgekommen angebraten….. - der Reis war Ok… Uns ~ werden sie nicht noch mal sehen !!! Schade ~

Nope, that was nothing! You only go here once. The staff is rude and listless. The taste of the food was nothing, I have never eaten so soberly at a Greek restaurant. The restaurant itself is in a great location, but that's the only positive thing there. This obviously attracts tourists. We fell for it too. Sit and look great. Service and food are not good at all.

The salad was very tasty. The wine also good. Due to the size of the restaurant, the service is understandably a bit chaotic... felt. But it's working... maybe not as well as some guests would like... it didn't bother us... We have time on vacation. Great location, beautiful view.

Great view of the water. The food was mediocre. You can expect more from a Metaxa sauce. The rice also took a lot of getting used to. The service only understood numbers and payments. Ordered white wine, got red wine. You have to announce the type of payment in advance, otherwise it will be difficult.

The typical “German” Greek. Ambience like everywhere else. No special highlights. Unfortunately, many dishes here are also served with the unspeakable Metaxa sauce. Otherwise everything is ok. Food tastes good. Service could be a little better.

It was full, so everything took a while. Staff is nice, the food is good and plentiful. Prices okay. We'll definitely go there again.

My family and I have been to this restaurant several times. The rating is therefore not based on a one-time, “whimsical” impression. I won't go into individual experiences, that would be too comprehensive. -It is very unclean and uncomfortable there - When you come in, you will be asked on the way to the table whether you want to pay in cash or by card - Service practically doesn't take place at all - Hospitality is a foreign word here - the food tastes like it comes from a canteen - unfortunately the only Greek in Waren (Müritz) and the immediate surroundings - Greek restaurants in Teterow or Stavenhagen show that things can get better - If you're not good on foot, you'll have a hard time getting to the restaurant - it's not possible with a wheelchair, for example Overall not recommended. We also try to avoid the restaurant, but if you're invited you can't always cancel.

There's a lot on the plate here. That's what you expect, but there are other things in goods too. Personally, the meat was a little too grilled for me. The crowds were great, we went back into the rain very happy. Like many Greek restaurants, the decor is a bit over the top, but it fits the mood. Friendly operation, fast and good service. If you are vegetarian, go somewhere else. But yes, there is also something for vegetarians.

Delicious food, nice view with terrace

Very tasty food and plenty of it. I wouldn't call the staff unfriendly but rather introverted. They were very accommodating and nice and always kept an eye on us to see if we wanted anything. It is very comfortably furnished and in warmer weather you can sit on the terrace with a really nice view of the lake.

The service is underground. At the beginning you will be asked directly whether you want to use cash or card. When paying, only the debit card is accepted and a huge scene was made about why you wouldn't have one and that you couldn't switch to cash anymore. Just embarrassing and incredibly rude!

Maybe we're a little spoiled, but Greek food wasn't what we were offered. It had a “canteen” feel. Anyone who knows my reviews knows that I'm not a complainer. But it's cheaply put together. Greetings from the deep fryers. Typically, Greek cuisine is grilled, fresh ingredients, no fries. I will no longer be a guest there. It's not worth it and it doesn't give Greek cuisine a good image. If you know and want real Greek cuisine, you've come to the wrong place. Sorry!

The food was terrible and completely overpriced. The staff unfriendly and listless. Cobwebs hang almost down to the plate. The tables are very small and the seats are cramped. To pack the food you are given a small paper plate, a small piece of aluminum foil and a small garbage bag. The area is beautiful. The restaurant is not recommended.

Richtig schönes Restaurant. Der Service war sehr gut und mega nett. Das Essen war sehr lecker, heiß und schnell serviert. Rundum zufrieden, sodass wir gleich wieder einen Tisch reserviert haben .

Session bedient wenig Gäste. Wir waren mittags essen, ich güros und meine Frau schollenfiletts, hat sehr gut geschmeckt, der Kellner sehr freundlich. Ambiente hab ich nur 3 Punkte gegeben weil die Gaststätte ökonomisch mit Tische voll gestellt ist.

Ich war mit meinen Kollegen zu Mittag (Weihnachtsessen) dort. Das Essen schmeckt, ist reichlich und auch der Preis ist stimmig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und umsichtig. Rundum war alles super, nur hätte man vielleicht zur jetzigen Zeit schon etwas weihnachtlich dekorieren können.

Schöne Lage mit Blick auf die Müritz. Sehr freundliches Personal und gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Speisekarte hält eine große Auswahl bereit und das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft. Keine übergroßen Portionen und daher auf jeden Fall zu schaffen. Leider gibt es nur ein Dessert zu bestellen (Joghurt mit Honig und Nüssen). Dafür war man mit dem Ouzo sehr großzügig 😜 Wenn man in Waren ist, unbedingt mal vorbeischauen.

Dieses Restaurant ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen! Der Service ist mäßig und schon fast unfreundlich und noch viel schlimmer ist das Essen! Gyros in "Metaxasauce" für 19,00 EUR!!!! Und die Sauce schmeckt dann auch noch wie Schulküchentomatensauce, das Gyros knorplig und zäh. Die Grillplatte meines Mannes bestand ausschließlich aus Billigfleisch ohne jeden Geschmack und das für über 23,00 EUR. Wir werden dort nie wieder essen gehen, gleichwohl es in der Nähe unserer Wohnung ist.

Nettes Personal, versteht leider wenig deutsch - daher geht manch ein Wunsch, wie etwa kross und scharf gebraten - nicht wie abgenickt in Erfüllung. Hier also nochmal auf griechisch - τηγανητό μέχρι να γίνει τραγανό

Wir kommen immer während unseres Urlaubs hierher. Das Essen schmeckt uns gut. Der Laden ist auch immer gut besucht. Manchmal sind die Kellner etwas wortkarg aber dafür auch nicht aufdringlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😋 Auch im Juli 2020 wieder da gewesen. Das Essen war wie immer sehr gut und nicht überwürzt. Wir kommen wirklich immer wieder.

Alles in allem okay für den Preis und die Gegend. Als Touri bekommt man hier sonst überall das Gleiche ;).

Der Grieche in Waren, etwas höher gelegen, hat man eine schöne Aussicht.
