Very big portions and super delicious

A truly lovely restaurant with great food and a super-friendly staff and chef. The price-performance ratio is also very good. My favorite restaurant in Daun.

Cozy Greek restaurant in Daun. Good food and reasonable prices.

We had reserved a table for 6 people by phone. Four people were there, and all of them overheard the employee asking for all the reservation information again. We wanted to have a nice meal for my in-laws' 47th wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the restaurant, all the tables were occupied, and we were told that there was no reservation for us. We ultimately left the restaurant and were forced to find a last-minute alternative. Yes, mistakes happen, but mistakes like these cost paying guests. In any case, we will neither recommend this restaurant nor visit it again.

@Stannn All I can say is, thank God there were other guests there who noticed everything (and agreed with me) and everyone noticed WHO was the unfriendly one from the start... so don't tell fairy tales here... And if you had behaved like you did today the first time you came, the nice gentleman wouldn't have served you either... 😉

Terrible service from a threatening waiter! On July 22nd, we had a delicious meal here and were served by a very friendly older gentleman. So we wanted to eat here again last night. Six of us were waiting for our reserved table when the waiter (a man in his 30s with a beard and ponytail) suddenly became incredibly intimidating and aggressive toward our 17-year-old son, asking him four times in a very threatening tone what he had said. Apparently, our son had told one of us that the music they were playing (a Greek rap song) was terrible, and the waiter had overheard it. We felt very threatened, and our son was terrified. He's obviously not an adult yet and has never experienced anything like this before. When a table became available and we sat down, the waiter brought the menu and again acted very aggressively, so we got up and left for safety. We've never experienced anything like this before, and people like that should definitely not be allowed to work in the restaurant industry! It's a shame it had to end like this... Luckily, we had a delicious meal at City Kebap Haus Daun with very friendly staff!

We had a fantastic meal on July 22, 2025. The owner was the only one serving, super friendly, and in my opinion, the best Greek food ever. Today (July 25, 2025), I went back because it was so good the first time. There was a younger man serving with long, black hair, and he had NO desire to serve us. We had a reservation for 8 p.m. with six people. He was just looking for things to chase us away. We were politely waiting for the waiter to prepare the table we had reserved. Then they started playing music that wasn't our style, and I (jokingly) remarked to my mother that I thought it was "shitty music." This wasn't directed at the annoying waiter or anyone else, and I didn't mean for him to hear it. Then he made some very nasty remarks to me, which, as a 17-year-old boy, I was very shocked by. I don't speak German very well either, so my mother made it clear to the waiter that it was a matter of musical taste. The waiter ignored this and continued to be very rude to us. Then my father decided to leave. It was a real shame, because the owner himself is a very friendly man, and the food there is truly delicious. Now we won't have to go back. Hopefully, this annoying waiter has had his day at this restaurant, and no one else has to experience this again. We had a fantastic meal on July 22, 2025. The owner was unique, the server was super friendly, and my opinion was like the best Greek meal ever. Today (July 25, 2025) I was back, because it was so good the first time. If you serve a young person with long hair, there is no pleasure at all, you will serve them. We are waiting for 20 hours with only one person reserved. There are so many possibilities that we can enjoy. We are happy to welcome you, as the Kellner has reserved your reservations. Then you can play music, which can be performed quietly, and with my own music (scherzhaft) with my own music, which is also useful for "Scheißmusik". That was again an nervigen Kellner nor an immediate jemand, and I was not willing, that was the case. Then there might be some common comments on my life, which shocked me even more than 17 years ago. That I don't have such good German speech, understand my voice from the Kellner, and see a Frage des Musikgeschmacks. The Kellner ignored their lives and war there was no room for us. Daraufhin beschloss mein Vater zu gehen. If there is heavy damage, the better self is a freer man, and the essence is freer. We would like to know more about it. Hoffentlich hat dieser lastige Kellner here in diesem Restaurant ausgedient, and no one must have that nor last life.

The word Filoxenia means "hospitality" in Greek. Unfortunately, there was little evidence of this during our visit. Upon arrival, I politely asked if we could sit at a different table than the one we were shown; there was plenty of room. That immediately seemed to pose a problem. The waiter with the trendy haircut responded to my polite question in an unexpectedly blunt, rather aggressive manner: "So you don't want to sit here?" – in a tone that came across as aggressive rather than hospitable. For me, the atmosphere was already spoiled at that point. If, as a guest, you can't even ask a simple question without receiving a hostile response, that's a clear sign, in my opinion, that you'd be better off spending your money elsewhere. Unfortunately, I have to give one star, but even that's one too many. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, authentic, and prepared with love! The service was not only attentive, but also really friendly and funny. We felt completely at home and will definitely be back. Absolutely recommend it!

Lekker Grieks gegeten met veel keuze uit salades en lichte gerechten. Alles was vers en smaakvol bereid, en de bediening was vriendelijk en attent. De locatie is aan een drukke straat, maar het lekkere eten maakt dat meer dan goed! Buitenterras en zitruimte binnen. Honden toegestaan. Prettige stoelen buiten op het terras en een comfortabele binnenruimte.

Delicious Greek food. After a hospitable welcome, we chose the oven-baked feta with tomato and peppers for lunch, followed by a tasty gyros salad for me and a Greek farmer's salad with a portion of fries for my husband. The ingredients were fresh and excellently prepared and we all enjoyed it more than well. The restaurant is located on a fairly busy road, so accessibility (and also a few parking spaces) is fine. We had a lovely time sitting on the terrace. Dogs are welcome. For photos, please check the review on TripAdvisor as I (for some vague reason) cannot upload them here.

Cozy restaurant with a very friendly owner and super friendly service

I was there with my wife on two evenings over Easter and we were very impressed again. Last year too. Courteous service, excellent tzatziki and a super tasty main course. We'd love to come back.

Great service, nice service and great food

A very clear recommendation for this great Greek restaurant. We went there for dinner on my birthday evening. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. The food came relatively quickly and was excellent. First you came with children's dishes and I have to say, I have never seen such great children's dishes in a Greek restaurant. Very lovingly prepared, delicious and an unbeatable price-performance ratio. My wife's gyros and my Filoxenia plate were also excellent. Since we were only in the Eifel for vacation, we will probably rarely be there. But I can only warmly recommend a visit to anyone who is there. If we are there again, we will visit the restaurant again.

Hmm taste is subjective. For me there is no repeat. Grilled sheep cheese starter. Well, a little bit of herbs and flavor... Main course ordered grilled liver with roasted onions. The liver was really well prepared, not dry but unfortunately hardly seasoned. Unfortunately, the onions were not roasted, they were steamed, which is a significant difference in taste that should not be ignored. It's a shame, I would have ordered something else... Last but not least, I didn't even get a final schnapps...

We ate there yesterday with our two dogs and can highly recommend the restaurant. A very nice owner, cozy atmosphere and the food was simply delicious! The service was also really great.

Unfortunately today, on Boxing Day, there was only a cold greeting from the boss. 4 dishes, of which two gyro plates unfortunately only had about 10 fries. The chicken pan had 2 pieces of meat only half cooked out of four pieces. When we brought this up, the boss looked at the meat and gave us the full bill to pay. No cafe or anything to excuse the inconvenience. It doesn't seem to matter, we won't be coming back. It's a shame, because we were always very satisfied before.

Except for the gyros, the dish (bifteki) was actually good to eat. Gyros was unfortunately cold and not well seasoned and fried.

The food was simply delicious. The staff friendly and accommodating. The portion size is good and the price is reasonable. Pleasant atmosphere. I can only recommend it. Gladly again.

Leuke gezellige huiselijke sfeer,, heel vriendelijk personeel en top service ondanks dat het onverwachts druk was. Het eten was heerlijk, perfect gebakken spies.

We had a souvlaki plate with fries, rice, tzatziki and coleslaw & a gyros pita. The food was really delicious! The meat is tender and not greasy at all. The fries are crispy and the pita bread is nice and fluffy. We paid around €20 for it. Price-performance ratio is top! We would love to come back 😊

We just had a mega gyros pita. So for 6 euros it's just mega. We barely made it. Price/performance top. Delicious meat, fries on top, onions, tomatoes, some coleslaw, tzatziki, and a green pepperoni. Simply great.

Good morning. After spontaneously making a reservation, we just managed to get a table as the restaurant was apparently very popular and well attended. Fortunately! The staff was very friendly and was always at the table at the right time. The drinks were brought quickly and soon after the very tasty salad. As soon as the salad was eaten, the food arrived for everyone involved. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The crowd was very generous. We didn't manage to do everything. The selection of dishes on the menu was also very extensive. We sat in the cozy indoor area, but there was also a terrace with enough seats. It's a shame that the holiday destination is too far away from home, otherwise we would definitely come here more often!

Food was ok, the service too! The young man who collected the bills became insulting after a misunderstanding and we were afraid that he would get violent!! Because of a little thing! IMPOSSIBLE, something like that has never happened to us after 50 years !

It's rather average. The food is not out of the ordinary and the breaks between meals are so short that you still chew on the salad. And the food next to you gets cold. The timing and sensitivity are missing. The operation is rather simple and sober. And in terms of outfit, it's more like a mother in the smock apron from the Ruhr area in the 60s. Unfortunately, the conversation is more boring. The gyro was dry and chewy. The fries are over-salted but at least crispy. I was there twice The first and last time.

My husband and I spontaneously went to this highly recommended restaurant. The service was friendly, the waiting time was perfectly acceptable and the prices were fair. The food was simply great from the starter to the dessert. Only the volume was a bit loud, but we still had a perfect evening. Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

Nice restaurant, relatively in the center. Well-kept and harmonious furnishings. Nice and friendly greeting as soon as you enter. Fast and courteous service staff. The food is fresh and authentic. The main course is served with a mixed salad with yogurt dressing and a plate with rice, tzatziki and fries. The Gyros Metaxa I ordered was gratinated with cheese. The dessert, puff pastry with quark filling, was recommended to me by the boss (I assume it was the boss). All in all, I can only recommend Filoxenia.

Very pleasant restaurant, warm service, great service, great attention span despite it being busy, no wish remains unfulfilled. The food was great, a salad was served with the main course and was refined with fresh parsley (I didn't know that before either). The service is top, the toilets are clean and soft drinks are served cold in 0.3 bottles so that the taste is at its best. Food is also available to take away. Any time!

This was by far the best Greek food I have eaten, the spices make the difference. The owners/waiters were very nice and accommodating. That wasn't the last meal there.

We were there today, the welcome was quite cold, the food was really not good, the meat was very dry and the gyros was also very dry, a typical cheap Greek, I really can't understand the positive reviews!

Very disappointing for 13-15 people, reserved twice before the 1st month to really confirm it for the 2nd Christmas! Everything is proven! We come to claim our table and what happens they forgot about us!!!! Then you get told that other people just won't come either, that's not my problem! That was my last visit and there are no more recommendations. Then we'll go to Wittlich in the future!

Typically Greek, very hospitable and family-run restaurant. Food takes a little more time, but is super fresh, hot and VERY tasty! Value for money 👍🏻 Ambiance is kept modern.

Familiäres Umfeld, mit schneller Bewirtung und sehr leckerem Essen. Auf jeden Fall zu Empfehlen!

Der Salat war sehr sehr einfach gehalten. Bei der Nummer 84 kann es Eigentlich nicht, wie es in der Karte steht, um Seezunge handeln. Fleisch zu weich, für den Preis auch nicht realisierbar... Die Tintenfischringe haben leider nur nach Mehl und Wasser als Panade geschmeckt. Nummer 45 war in Ordnung, leider Fleisch recht zäh und trocken. Die Terrasse ist leider zum Norden ausgerichtet, sehr schattig und windig. Inhaber freundlich. Wir kommen hier nicht mehr hin.. 🤷‍♂️

Wir sind extra über 20km vom Center Parcs gekommen und dann war der Laden geschlossen. Google zeigte geöffnet an obwohl der Laden Betriebsferien hatte. Ferien muss sein und ist jedem gegönnt aber sowas ist ärgerlich. Warum gibt man das nicht an? Wir waren bestimmt nicht die einzigen. Hatte mich so auf Gyros gefreut:-(

Essen war nichts außergewöhnliches leider gab es kein knoblauchbrot was für mich zum griechischem Essen dazu gehört es war sehr kalt drinne aber der Service war sehr gut

Sehr leckeres Essen. Auch für Vegetarier ist was auf der Karte zu finden. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und das Essen super lecker. Daher volle Punktzahl von meiner Seite.

Nicht selbst gemachtes Tsatsiki (absolutes No-Go m.M.n.) Salatsauce ebenfalls definitiv extern beschafft, Tomatenreis kommt verdächtig an Uncle Bens ran.. die Vorspeisenplatte mit den gekochten Eiern (???).. der typische Griechen-Flair will leider überhaupt nicht aufkommen, dafür sind die Preise jedoch sehr stramm. Immerhin war es relativ schnell fertig obwohl sehr voll, ob das jetzt eher auf Schnelligkeit oder Convenience- Produkte zurückzuführen ist, soll jeder für sich bewerten.. Preis-Leistung passt hier somit leider überhaupt nicht. Umgang bei Abholung war leider auch Recht kühl, gerade so ein Hallo und tschüss, kein guten Appetit, auf Wiedersehen oder schönen Abend - sehr schade, wären gerne öfter gekommen.

Erg smakelijk en weldadig gegeten. Gyros Metaxa is een aanrader. Zorg dat je honger hebt, want je krijgt hier meer dan voldoende om je honger te stillen.

Sehr leckeres Essen leider ein bisschen zuviel. Da die Terasse zur Straßenseite liegt war es ein etwas zu laut. Service sehr 👍 gut.

Toller Service, prompte Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen. Wir haben hier den Abschluss von einem Geschwister-Wandertag gefeiert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, reichhaltig und die Karte bot eine große Auswahl für jeden in der Runde. Es war ein toller Abend und ein besonderes Dankeschön an den netten Kellner, der noch unseen Fotografen spielte. Ich empfehle gerne dieses Restaurant. Alle waren sehr aufmerksam zu allen Gästen. Sehr beeindruckend.

Nettes Lokal mit grossen und einer kleinen Terrasse

Heerlijk gegeten buiten op terras. Maaltijden allemaal netjes verzorgd en heerlijk op temperatuur en smaakvol. Grote van de maaltijd voldoende voor een normale eter . Bediening zeer vriendelijk en correct.

Ob Oslo oder Kiel, hauptsache Griechenland. Und mit dieser Einleitung ein feuriges HuHu zu meiner heutigen Bewertung. Das Lokal lock mit wohlhaft gekochten Speisen von unseren Freunden im Süden Europas. Die Karte ist mit vielen klassichen Gerichten ausgestattet wo jeder auf seine kosten kommt. Die Gaststube bietet für jede Gruppenanzahl den richtigen Tisch und durch das zauberhafte Personal wird man in eine Welt von 1001 Nacht entführt. Die Reise ist aber nach Lamm und Reis nochnicht ganz vorbei. In dem Herren - WC lock ein Spielautomat ganz anderer Art mit seinen Gaben. Lassen auch SIE sich verwöhnen und speisen sie mit Asterix und Michael Jackson

Wat een fijn restaurant is dit!! Het eten smaakte echt heerlijk en ruime porties. Service wordt hier met een hoofdletter S geschreven. Als je je bestek op de grond laat vallen wordt er door de gastheer al nieuw bestek aangereikt voordat je het op hebt kunnen rapen. Echt aan te raden!
