Delicious BBQ, portions absolutely sufficient and good service.

Very attentive service and always on the ball when it comes to drinks. If you're dying of thirst here, you've done something wrong 😉 The boss has the place very well under control, and it's also fun to see how good the working atmosphere is between the individual employees and the boss. The all-you-can-eat "AYCE" is amazing; there's always a new cut on the grill and something new to discover. The standard dishes, like pulled pork, ribs, etc., also leave nothing to be desired. The side dishes are modest but expertly prepared and absolutely perfect for the BBQ. It was our first time at Green Smoke, but it certainly won't be the last 😬 For meat eaters, it's a definite recommendation and a "must-do." Thank you for the lovely evening.

Went there again today, June 20, 2025. Super delicious and friendly service. The New Year's Eve smoker grill buffet was delicious, both the meat and the side dishes. The herb butter was amazing. The service could have come more often for drinks.

Great, plentiful, and, above all, perfectly cooked food. From the salads to the vegetables, dips, and salmon to the meat variations, everything is super delicious and beautifully presented. The staff is consistently enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable. Five stars aren't enough in terms of taste, and we'd love to come back 😊

Green Smoke Cologne is always worth a visit! You can't beat the quality in the surrounding area. American cuisine at a high level. The beef brisket, for example, is a dream, and so is the burger selection! Service is very friendly and helpful! Amazing place , everything was amazing

First of all, we received a very friendly welcome. We found the restaurant's ambiance very appealing and cozy. As a group, we ordered the "Shame on You Pan." It was a delicious smoked brisket on French fries with jalapenos and smothered in cheese sauce. VERY TASTY! A small special request was easily accommodated. The rest of the service was excellent and very friendly, and the food was served incredibly quickly. We give it a well-deserved 5 stars.

Great smoked meat, lovely service and perfect soundtrack

I had reserved a table at Green Smoke Cologne a month in advance and received written confirmation from the owner via email for the desired date. We weren't on the guest list that evening. Instead of looking at the email confirmation, they assumed we had reserved for a different day. Despite clear receipts, no one wanted to take care of it; instead, they seated us at the worst table "as a courtesy." The food was also disappointing. The buffet only serves tiny pieces of meat (e.g., a thumb-sized steak), so you constantly have to ask for more. The "cheaper" side dishes, on the other hand, are unlimited, which seems more like a cost-control trick than a true "all-you-can-eat" experience. Drinks came in glass bottles, and the glasses were never changed (even though they were different drinks). I also found it highly unprofessional that the employee made a comment about my friend's watch while seating us; that was uncalled for. Overall, a disappointing experience, both organizationally and culinary-wise. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Green Smoke Cologne.

"BEEF LOVER" platter for 2 people with cucumber and mixed salad: After a difficult drive and a search for a parking space, we finally arrived to discover: The authenticity of BBQ and smoke BBQ is completely lacking here. The ambiance is very strange for a BBQ. As we waited in the hotel lobby to be admitted (we were there very early as we were traveling with a baby), we were a bit surprised. A hotel breakfast room is being turned into a "BBQ"?! In the middle of a city block? Where are the steam locomotives? Well, it'll be fine, the Google reviews were excellent. We ordered a "BEEF LOVER" platter for people. The menu clearly states that preparation times should be expected to be approximately 45 minutes. Very good! I think it's great that they clearly state that it will take a little longer. Understandable, because "good things take time"! From a purely gastronomic perspective, it's also quite clever, as you can also order appetizers to tide you over. And a few Kölsch beers will certainly be served during that time. :-) While we were waiting, I noticed a QR code on the back of the menu that linked to Instagram so you wouldn't miss out on the daily specials. So, I took a first look at their social media presence and discovered this: There's no "smoke" at all, as you'd expect at a BBQ. No steam engines, no wood, no fire! They're industrial smokehouses. So, neither passion nor real craftsmanship is at work here. The result was confirmed by the "BEEF LOVER" platter, which arrived after about 50 minutes (absolutely on time and within the announced timeframe) and was a truly impressive one: everything tasted completely over-smoked and the same. The pork ribs were disastrous. Tough and could hardly be removed from the bone, only by nibbling. We learned from the waitress that several guests had this impression that day. Well, someone probably set the wrong program on the smoker. ;-) The Smokey Eye, a ribeye steak (ordered medium-well), was very tough, the chicken lollipops were juicy, tender, and delicious! The beef ribs were tender, came off the bone easily - and tasted okay. The same smoky flavor as everything else, monotonous. You just tasted smoke. No spices, no meat! The herb butter was snow-white and foamed up, served as the "icing on the cake." It looked great, but it didn't taste good. The homemade BBQ sauces are awful and more reminiscent of gravy, with the variation that sometimes jalapenos and sometimes honey were added. About the salads: The coleslaw was quite sweet, which I actually know from authentic BBQs. That's a matter of taste and doesn't affect our overall impression. Personally, I don't like it. The cucumber salad and the mixed side salad with Caesar dressing were okay. They still had a bite and crunch, but the taste was a bit bland. The service staff were all very friendly and at least tried hard. Drinks were delivered quickly, and communication was very friendly and pleasant. Although I think everything deserves a second chance, we probably won't be coming back. We were simply too disappointed.

Wonderful restaurant. Andrea and his team are very attentive, and we had an incredibly good meal. If we're ever in Cologne again, we'll definitely come back here for dinner. A big thank you also goes to the chef and his team.

Spent over 2 hours in there from start to finish, felt like we got forgot about and had to remind them about our food order multiple times. Then the bill took an extra 30 minutes. All this even though they spoke good english

I recently dined at the American barbecue restaurant located inside a hotel in Cologne. The barbecue dishes were of medium quality—nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. I wasn’t particularly impressed, but it’s still a decent option if you’re craving barbecue. Unfortunately, the beer selection was quite limited, which was a bit disappointing. The restaurant itself is very clean and elegant, perhaps a bit too much for a typical barbecue place, but it creates a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, making the overall experience pleasant. Overall, it’s a good spot if you’re looking for a clean and well-maintained place with decent food and good service, even if it doesn’t quite stand out in terms of cuisine or beer variety.

Tried BBQ for the first time and was not disappointed. The brisket (which is only available every Saturday) was delicious, and the ribeye was also very good. The only downside was that the table was really small for three people. I can understand that they want to save space, but especially on this evening, when it was a bit emptier, I was hoping for something larger. But this is only a minor flaw; the value for money is great here. I'll definitely be back, especially since I'm curious to try the other dishes here.

The restaurant deserves more than five stars, as the food is prepared to the highest standards and the service is also excellent. The only minor drawback is the location, as it's not easy to find the restaurant if you're not a local, as there's no large sign and it's not immediately clear that it's located in the hotel. But everything else was simply great. I would like to mention that we were served by the waiter Andrea, and it was the best service I (we) have ever experienced in other restaurants.

The "Genen Smoke Cologne" in Cologne offers an excellent location for any bachelorette party. The restaurant impresses not only with its atmosphere, but above all with its outstanding service. Outstanding. I visited Cologne on business and my partner tagged along to visit the city along with me. Green Smoke stood out even on the maps so we booked last minute for a 9pm visit. The entrance is a bit hidden, at least at this time - the road leading there is poorly lit and there are some characters lurking about. However, on entry Sky and her colleague were brilliant, not over bearing, friendly and wore a smile even that late in the day. We ordered two Allstar burgers, rum and some whisky each to wash it down with and the food was exceptional just out of burger. The beef is cooked to your preference and the onions and relish were perfect. I am visiting again in August and will definitely set time aside to return to Green Smoke and give the smoked steak a try if they’re able to make a burger that tasty.

We had the St. Louis cut spare ribs and the corn-fed chicken breast. I ordered them smoked on recommendation and was more than impressed. The ribs and chicken breast were cooked to perfection and tasted AMAZING. Also try the homemade smoked butter with bread, simply wow. The service is super friendly and helpful. A top recommendation from me is the homemade smoked lemonade, it's amazing. It won't be the last time we go there. For me, one of the best BBQ restaurants in Cologne.

I imagined more with the name. Stayed in the Lindner Hotel in the city center, quite a cool atmosphere, nothing to do with smoke or BBQ. The Texas burger had no smoke flavor and the fried egg was dry. The cheese sauce on the Mac & Cheese was grainy. When asked, they said the kitchen always does it that way. The mac & cheese was kindly taken off the bill. According to my son, the coleslaw is better even at KFC. The waitress was probably a former Köbes, at least his loud and gruff manner. When asked whether American beer was also on offer, they loudly announced that you couldn't drink a "drink" like Budweiser. Was my first and last visit.
