Greek Star in Langenhagen

Great shop, great staff, great food!

A truly lovely Greek restaurant with fantastic staff. We had some wonderful evenings there. If I'm ever back in Hanover, we'll definitely come again.

When Charles was still Prince of the Welsh and not King Charles, he is said to have once said that English architects had done more damage to London than the German Air Force. What would he say if he had to see the market hall in the CCL (City Center Langenhagen)? Then—surprise, surprise—you find an authentic Greek restaurant, more like a taverna, with friendly hosts who have been bringing a touch of warmth to this desolate hall since 1991. They do this by serving delicious Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. A bifteki, the likes of which Aristotle and Jackie couldn't have had better on any of his yachts. Delicious, fluffy, superbly seasoned minced meat with—and now pay attention, you woke Greco-amateurs—not with flavorless West Frisian Gouda, but with a generous portion of feta cheese—yes, you read that right, feta cheese, as Zeus had decreed!! The salad and side dishes rounded off this culinary feast perfectly, and the Greek mocha filled our stomachs—we'll be back!

We've been there several times now. Whether it's for big birthdays, small family gatherings, or just a meal for two – it's always a highlight. The food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the service is friendly! The salad bar is a good starting point, and we highly recommend the gyros in Metaxa sauce, followed by the "brand new" tiramisu for dessert. A real treat!

Overall, the meal was very tasty and reasonably priced. The souvlaki could have used tzatziki instead of the orange sauce, and the orange also seemed a bit out of place, as did the pickle in the appetizer salad.
