Gidis Kebab in Mannheim

Der Döner war wirklich gut. Die Zutaten waren gut ausgewählt und das Brot lecker. Die Pommes waren nicht ganz mein Geschmack, aber das ist Geschmackssache. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Absolute Empfehlung!!! Unser Lieblingsdöner in Mannheim. Bisher immer frisches Gemüse und Fleisch drin gehabt. Die Soßen heben sich von den Standard Döner-Soßen ab und sind sehr lecker gewürzt. Die Mitarbeiter begrüßen einen mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht und sind stets freundlich.

Beef Kebap: knackig, frische Zutaten, 3 tolle Saucen, die vor Befüllung in das knusprige Sesambrot gestrichen werden und Highlight ist das knusprige Beef, das toll gewürzt ist.

Wirkt extrem runtergekommen und iwie gammelig der Laden. Extrem ungemütlich. Döner ist lecker, aber bei dem Kalb-Fleischkäse-Drehpieß, dass extrem fettig ist und voller Geschmacksverstärker + Fett Mayosoße + Kohlenhydrate durch das Brot, ist auch nicht schwierig etwas schmackhaftes herzustellen. Kann man auf jeden Fall essen wenn man plant übergewichtig zu werden.

Bester Döner in der Umgebung. Yufka leider zu klein und man wird nicht satt als Mann. Für 9€ würde man schon gerne satt werden.

Ich habe seit der Eröffnung des Dönerladens dort gegessen und die Qualität ist immer gleich geblieben.Fantastischer Döner!

Die guten Bewertungen haben mich überzeugt und nach mehreren gedanklichen Versuchen bin ich dann auch mal dort aufgeschlagen. Die Mitarbeiter vor Ort waren super nett, das hebt schon mal die Stimmung. Aber auch der Döner war meiner Ansicht gut zusammengestellt. Leckere Soßen, die man als Mix bekommt, wenn man nichts anderes sagt und frische Zutaten, einfach klasse. Zum Schluss gibt es noch einen Spritzer frische Zitrone drauf, was man sonst nicht kennt. Der Geschmack des Beef-Döners war dann für mich doch etwas mächtig, aber dies ist dann immer Geschmacksache. Beim nächsten Mal probiere ich dann die Hähnchenvariante, der nächste Besuch ist fest eingeplant.

Der Döner Kebab ist hier wirklich gut, das Fleisch ist sehr schmackhaft. Und der Preis ist sehr angemessen. Ich war schon viermal dort und einmal gab es sogar gratis türkische Desserts dazu, die wirklich lecker waren.

Ich muss leider feststellen, dass sowohl die Qualität des Döners als auch der Service nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprochen haben. Der Döner schmeckte papier und das Personal war äußerst unfreundlich. Ich kann nicht weiterempfehlen.👎

My first and last time at this shop. You get a good kebab here, but there's really very little meat/contents. When I unwrapped my kebab, I was so surprised at how small the portion was, wondering if the staff had made a mistake. Unfortunately, I was only €10 poorer after the kebab, but I wasn't full. The €5 kebab has more content.

Habe gerade einen vegetarischen Yufka mit Falafel gegessen, dieser war sehr lecker. Die Falafel waren nicht so trocken wie sie oft bei anderen Restaurants sind, das Gemüse war sehr frisch. Eine leckere Soße dazu und sehr schmackhaftes Gewürze. 1A kann ich total weiter empfehlen.

One of Mannheim's best-rated döner kebabs, and rightly so. It was my first time there, and the guys treated me like a regular. I ordered the largest döner, and at €7.50 I was a bit skeptical at first, but I received a massive döner weighing easily 1 kg. The price/performance ratio was excellent. And the taste? The vegetables were super fresh and crisp, the sauce had a lovely garlic flavor and wasn't watered down. The most important part, the meat, was perfect: slightly crispy and flavorful. Overall, all the flavors were perfectly balanced, creating a top-notch döner. I'll definitely be back.

A small, somewhat hidden kebab shop. I came here because of the good reviews and wasn't disappointed. The meat (veal) was delicious, the sauces very good, and the salad selection decent. All served in crispy flatbread. The only thing missing would be yaprak (a type of sausage). But even so, a solid 4.5 stars and a clear recommendation.

Best doner kebab I've had in the west so far. Finally, a doner kebab the way it should be. Triangular flatbread, veal, three sauces (herb, garlic, spicy), and the right selection of salads. The bread and meat were nice and crispy, but not dried out, and with the option to add some chili flakes on top if the standard spiciness isn't enough. A place that finally gets everything right. 100% recommended. The only downside is the location. It's about a 10-minute walk from the main train station and on an unassuming residential street. But it's definitely worth the trip!

I received partially burnt meat. The yufka I ordered turned into a complete mess. It was too thin and puffed up, causing everything to fall out. I wouldn't come back here. They also forgot my order and left it behind, so I had to ask them to get it. When I complained about the burnt meat, they said it was "crispy."

First of all: In my opinion, the best kebab in Mannheim. Why? Gidis is special. It stands out from the rest. As far as I know, it's the only place nearby that prepares kebabs the "Berlin style." The bread is very tasty. The sauces are completely different. Recommendation: Try all three sauces. The meat quality is also very good. Personally, I prefer chicken, but the beef is also very tasty. The vegetables are very fresh, and the lemon squeezed on top is perfect freshness. And another important thing! The owner is super nice. You feel really welcome. The price is absolutely justified for what you get. I always enjoy coming back when I'm in Mannheim. Conclusion: I love the kebab.

Super delicious kebab. Lots of meat and a delicious salad. Overall, the kebab was incredibly well-filled. The staff was super friendly. Unfortunately, debit card payments aren't accepted, and I didn't have any cash on me, but they easily found a solution. Quote: "Eat first, we'll get it sorted." Here you can get two different doner kebabs. I'll describe both versions: Version 1: The boss is Gidi himself, the man who made this place famous and built it up with hard work. This man makes you a nearly perfect doner kebab. He waits until the spit has cooked the meat crisply and only then slices it, using the perfect amount of vegetables and sauces. This doner is exactly to my taste and a 10/10 for me. Version 2: The boss isn't there, and one of his employees will make your doner kebab. He slices the meat way too early; it's not crispy, so it sits on the bottom, and the fat drips onto the meat the whole time. The vegetables are okay, no complaints, then they use way too much sauce, and finally, they add more sauce to the finished doner. While making the kebab, the employee will tell you how well he makes kebabs. Normally, you look forward to the last part of the kebab, but all that crispy meat with the juice at the end turns into slimy, juiced meat with this kebab. This kebab is a 3/10 at best. I've been a satisfied customer at Gidi's for years and have eaten both versions of the kebab quite often. Unfortunately, I'm sick of version 2, and I don't think this kebab reflects the true quality of the shop.
