This is simply the best Kebab I have ever tried in my life and trust me I have tried many. The bread, the meat and the size to price ratio is the best.

For €7.50 you can't complain, but it's nothing special either. Tastes like any run-of-the-mill döner kebab.

One of Mannheim's best-rated döner kebabs, and rightly so. It was my first time there, and the guys treated me like a regular. I ordered the largest döner, and at €7.50 I was a bit skeptical at first, but I received a massive döner weighing easily 1 kg. The price/performance ratio was excellent. And the taste? The vegetables were super fresh and crisp, the sauce had a lovely garlic flavor and wasn't watered down. The most important part, the meat, was perfect: slightly crispy and flavorful. Overall, all the flavors were perfectly balanced, creating a top-notch döner. I'll definitely be back.

A small, somewhat hidden kebab shop. I came here because of the good reviews and wasn't disappointed. The meat (veal) was delicious, the sauces very good, and the salad selection decent. All served in crispy flatbread. The only thing missing would be yaprak (a type of sausage). But even so, a solid 4.5 stars and a clear recommendation.

Best doner kebab I've had in the west so far. Finally, a doner kebab the way it should be. Triangular flatbread, veal, three sauces (herb, garlic, spicy), and the right selection of salads. The bread and meat were nice and crispy, but not dried out, and with the option to add some chili flakes on top if the standard spiciness isn't enough. A place that finally gets everything right. 100% recommended. The only downside is the location. It's about a 10-minute walk from the main train station and on an unassuming residential street. But it's definitely worth the trip!

I received partially burnt meat. The yufka I ordered turned into a complete mess. It was too thin and puffed up, causing everything to fall out. I wouldn't come back here. They also forgot my order and left it behind, so I had to ask them to get it. When I complained about the burnt meat, they said it was "crispy."

My first and last time at this shop. You get a good kebab here, but there's really very little meat/contents. When I unwrapped my kebab, I was so surprised at how small the portion was, wondering if the staff had made a mistake. Unfortunately, I was only €10 poorer after the kebab, but I wasn't full. The €5 kebab has more content.

First of all: In my opinion, the best kebab in Mannheim. Why? Gidis is special. It stands out from the rest. As far as I know, it's the only place nearby that prepares kebabs the "Berlin style." The bread is very tasty. The sauces are completely different. Recommendation: Try all three sauces. The meat quality is also very good. Personally, I prefer chicken, but the beef is also very tasty. The vegetables are very fresh, and the lemon squeezed on top is perfect freshness. And another important thing! The owner is super nice. You feel really welcome. The price is absolutely justified for what you get. I always enjoy coming back when I'm in Mannheim. Conclusion: I love the kebab.

Unfortunately, debit card payments aren't accepted, and I didn't have any cash on me, but they easily found a solution. Quote: "Eat first, we'll get it sorted." Here you can get two different doner kebabs. I'll describe both versions: Version 1: The boss is Gidi himself, the man who made this place famous and built it up with hard work. This man makes you a nearly perfect doner kebab. He waits until the spit has cooked the meat crisply and only then slices it, using the perfect amount of vegetables and sauces. This doner is exactly to my taste and a 10/10 for me. Version 2: The boss isn't there, and one of his employees will make your doner kebab. He slices the meat way too early; it's not crispy, so it sits on the bottom, and the fat drips onto the meat the whole time. The vegetables are okay, no complaints, then they use way too much sauce, and finally, they add more sauce to the finished doner. While making the kebab, the employee will tell you how well he makes kebabs. Normally, you look forward to the last part of the kebab, but all that crispy meat with the juice at the end turns into slimy, juiced meat with this kebab. This kebab is a 3/10 at best. I've been a satisfied customer at Gidi's for years and have eaten both versions of the kebab quite often. Unfortunately, I'm sick of version 2, and I don't think this kebab reflects the true quality of the shop.

Absolutely amazing! I've tried and eaten so many kebabs in so many different places, and Gidis's Kebab is definitely in my personal top 3. The traditional, toasted, and crispy bread, topped with a generous portion of sesame seeds, is simply a dream. Plus, the very, very fresh and delicious sauces, paired with the crisp salad, are just so perfect. The cherry on top is definitely the juicy and well-seasoned meat. Wow, just wow. This place was awesome! Located an easy 15 minutes walk from the Mannheim station, in a local-style neighborhood. Great chicken doner, a bit more classy than the average doner. Skip the places behind the Marktplatz and try here!!!

The kebab was very tasty. A good size, and the staff was very friendly. The shop itself is like a snack bar and not particularly cozy. It's a bit dark, perhaps. Unfortunately, you can't pay by card.

At lunchtime, the wait is about 10-15 minutes. I ordered a yufka with beef, which was well seasoned and well filled. What bothers me personally is that the staff doesn't wear protective clothing when you sweat so much. Washing your hands more often isn't a bad idea either, otherwise it's okay.

The kebab tastes great. The bread was nice and crispy, the chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the garlic sauce also impressed me 👍 What could be done better: A little more cucumber, tomato and red cabbage would be great. I think a slice of cucumber and half a slice of tomato are a bit too little. As already mentioned, the meat was very tasty, but also very fatty.

The service was quite good, the ordering progressed quickly. The ambience reminds me of an Italian snack bar in the suburbs. I got a beef kebab and it disappointed me. The meat (some mix) didn't taste like anything and the kebab itself tasted like a snack. The chicken skewer looked much better, maybe you could try that.

Das Essen ist ganz ok. Es gibt besseren Döner in Mannheim, aber schlecht ist es nicht, vom Geschmack her gut. Man kann leider nur in bar bezahlen (ich finde das immer wieder fragwürdig). Die Preise sind eher im höheren Bereich. Sitzen kann man leider nicht so gut. Insgesamt ist es ganz ok, am besten nur zum abholen.

Falafel Yufka is very very tasty. Staff are always friendly, even though the work must be very strenuous because it is so hot.
