A beautiful location and absolutely delicious food. The price-performance ratio is excellent for what's offered. We had a lovely evening and everyone was happy. 🔝👍

A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Everything about the Geroldsau Mill was perfect for us. The impressive wooden building, the tastefully decorated rooms, the restaurant with its appealing selection of regional dishes, and the unique concept of the regional mill market, complete with a bakery and small butcher shop. The experience was rounded off by the small but exquisite selection of interior design items in the adjoining store, "Heimatliebe" (Love of Home). We were captivated by the harmonious atmosphere from the moment we arrived.

Delicious food and a great atmosphere! To be honest, it's my favorite restaurant in the area, and the portions are very generous! Sure, some things taste better in Munich than here, but most of it (especially the regional dishes) is a real treat.

My impression was that the staff were very unfriendly, and wheelchair users were clearly not welcome. It was a one-time attempt to get a seat there; we will never go there again!

I didn't stay at the hotel, but the restaurant is excellent. The food is very tasty and regional, with always new specialties. The service is very attentive and friendly, and the service is very quick. I highly recommend it. The combination with the specialty shop selling regional products is also a great idea. I always enjoy coming back.

We had our Christmas party at the Geroldsauer Mühle. I was thrilled with the atmosphere. The decor was incredibly cozy. The service was truly outstanding. The food was delicious. I'll definitely go there again.

For New Year's Eve, we were given a table on the terrace that wasn't properly closed, resulting in freezing cold feet. That's a shame! Otherwise, the establishment is very good.

Great place! Huge, with home decor shopping and a grocery store with regional products!! We ate there; beautifully decorated, friendly service. The food was good 👍🏻 but the Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli) weren't quite to my taste (I'm from Swabia). However, the Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) is highly recommended!

The entire complex is very nice. The market area and restaurant are also lovely. The restaurant staff, however, were arrogant and unenthusiastic. Since we weren't served for quite some time, we left. Too bad.

We were in the hunting lodge on Saturday, December 13th, with 30 people for a birthday party. To put it simply: from the organization to the ambiance, the food, and especially the service (Thomas), everything was absolutely outstanding – compliments!

We were guests at the mill on December 13, 2025, for our company Christmas party. The location is enchanting. The food was fantastic, and the service was first-class, friendly, and very attentive. All in all, a wonderful evening during the Advent season. Many thanks to the team.

We've been here several times and I always love it. A stroll through the great little supermarket and a stop at the bakery... And not forgetting the very well-stocked gift shop. Everything is there, with attention to detail. We enjoy the beer garden and eating outside. Our friends were also thrilled with it this summer. Yesterday, just the two of us had a fantastic field salad with croutons, bacon strips, and raspberry vinegar. It was divine! We paired it with a Pinot Gris. It was a perfect match. For our main course, we had veal schnitzel with warm potato and cucumber salad and lingonberries. Our second course was wild boar sauerbraten with red cabbage and potato dumplings. A superb dish; the meat was incredibly tender and beautifully seasoned.

I was here for lunch one Friday and was delighted with the menu selection. For two main courses and two drinks each, I paid around €55, which is absolutely reasonable. I'll definitely be back.

Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Our very attentive server, Emma, ​​was worth five stars on her own. I was thrilled with the masterful sauce, had wild boar sauerbraten 🤩 and veal patties as a second course, accompanied by lamb's lettuce, and finished with Kaiserschmarrn. The pictures speak for themselves.

We always like to stop at this welcoming place, for good food, for its typical Black Forest decor, its shop with its regional specialties...

There was nothing to complain about at lunchtime. Despite its size, the food was excellent and something special. The mill shop next door, with its top-quality products, was a delight.

Regional products and a good restaurant

As you may have already discovered in several other posts... ...Service is abysmal; we saw staff for 15 minutes... then they vanished. We can't comment on the food, as we left immediately. ...Prices are ridiculously high... compared to similar venues, drinks are about €0.50-€1.00 more expensive... roughly 10% more expensive overall, but food is a good 30% more expensive. Especially the "cheap" dishes. Conclusion: Good location, visually appealing, but not for those on a tight budget and therefore less suitable for families due to the high price.

Top service, excellent cuisine, dog and family friendly, pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff, and lightning-fast service. I simply love coming here!

It's simply beautiful there, and the local products are first-class!

We attended the Wirtshaus Wies'n event on October 11, 2025. A great event where wearing traditional costume is mandatory. To sum it up, it's worth having a good time there, no matter the occasion; it's always a great experience. But I would like to criticize one thing: the later it got that evening, the louder the music got. You had to shout at each other at the table to have a conversation, or we went to the beer garden to be able to talk normally. It would be nice if they kept in mind that not all of the booked guests are wild party animals.

The Dreher bakery, located inside the Geroldsauer Mühle, has baked goods as delicious as those in Alsace. The yeast wreath is simply amazing, and the crumble cake is a dream. The pretzels are perfect for a hike, and the Geroldsauer Mühle farm shop also offers Landjäger sausages made from local, grass-fed beef. Conclusion: Highly recommended for shopping, and equally recommended for a stop.

It's become a second home to us. Whether it was a spontaneous beer garden visit with friends, an event at the mill, or our families and company parties, everything was always perfectly organized and served with heart. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team at the front, in the organization, and especially in the kitchen, and hope we can spend many more days (and evenings, of course) with you. We were here for lunch today... we had a lovely outdoor seating. We'll definitely be back in the winter to enjoy the wonderful ambiance inside.

A garden center, coffee shop, pastry shop, and beer pub all under one roof. There's also a large restaurant where we had a great meal.

We stopped here after our hike - this place is very inviting from the outside - The service was very good even though there were a lot of guests in the beer garden and inside - the food 😋👍 was excellent!! + The kids were able to let off steam in the playground again. Afterwards, we bought a souvenir in the boutique - there's a bakery and a small, typical, excellent supermarket with all the delicacies from the Black Forest - I'm absolutely thrilled with this place - I'd happily give it 10 points 😘 Worthwhile 👍😋🌞👍👍

The review os about the restaurant. Service is good, atmosphere is great and everything around it. But when ot comes to food it is really bad. The grilled chicken and burger are one of the worst things. I think that the chicken was rotten or old. The food is cooked in advance and then warmed up. So, you may enjoy the view and atmosphere but food, think about it.

We've been here several times. On our last visit, both grandchildren were with us. They also romped around the playground and admired the water wheel. There were also fries and currywurst for the grandchildren. We had coffee and cake.

Great food and friendly staff, helpful

Everything is way too expensive for me: Hefeweizen beer for €5.90, sausage salad for €14.00, Wiener schnitzel for €36.00. And something like that on the B500, where there are lots of motorcyclists. It's too expensive for me.

I visited the restaurant with my family today. Anyone who enjoys expensive tourist spots will feel very comfortable there. I was greeted by the head waiter, who then walked past our table five times within 30 minutes without serving us. A no-go for us was the fact that waiters were insulted in front of the guests. Quality of food beyond any doubt

A very nice beer garden with delicious food. Unfortunately, we had to wait a bit longer for our food. Ultimately, however, the restaurant manager handled the mishap very professionally. Mistakes can happen, and how you react is very important! We can definitely recommend this beer garden.

A typical German meeting place for lunch. Some waiters speak English, and the menu is also in English, which is sometimes difficult to find in the Black Forest. Everything is very good and reasonably priced. The location is very pretty, with the river and tables in the sun. However, if you're afraid of wasps, don't come here.

Hey, we visited the 7th Mill Festival today. It was very busy. Beautiful beer garden, shady, rustic wooden tables, and fast service. The highlight was the "ox on a spit." Super tasty and a large portion. There were activities for children, including a carousel, climbing frame, and more. Various stalls with local products. To celebrate the day, there was a tractor and Unimog gathering, as well as a fire department exhibition (very interesting). Thank you for the wonderful hours 😍🍀🌷 August 24, 2025 - Hey, on Sunday afternoon we congratulated the Geroldsauer Mill on its 10th birthday 🌹 To celebrate the day, the mill market was open with a bakery, butcher shop, wine corner, as well as gifts & accessories 🌸 With its extraordinary architecture, the Geroldsauer Mill is the largest silver fir building in Europe and offers fresh, regional, traditionally produced products 🌷 Due to the numerous activities on the spacious grounds, the influx of guests was naturally enormous 🥂 At various stations, there were shows with and about horses. We were spared that 🐎 The musical entertainment was provided by a delegation from the Lichtenthal Baden-Baden Music Association 🥳 Our lunch was quick, hot, plentiful, and very tasty 😋 The Black Forest gateau and the Frankfurter Kranz from the Dreher city bakery, which has a branch in the Geroldsauer Mühle, provided a sweet ending to this interesting lunch 💃 The reliable shuttle service from/to the Geroldsauer School parking lot took us safely and quickly to the "scene of the action" and back ☀️ It was an impressive event that clearly required enormous preparation and organization. Thank you for that 👏

Last year, on my way to a hiking trip, I noticed this restaurant and told myself I’d stop by next time. This year I finally did, and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a real German vibe. The menu is full of options and specialties, and the service is both friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. There’s a small river with a bridge nearby, plenty of parking, and even a little shop where you can buy local products. The place is charming, welcoming, and absolutely worth a stop. It may be a bit on the expensive side, but it’s definitely worth it.

I can't rate the rooms as I haven't stayed overnight. The shop, food, and service have always been excellent. The playground is top-notch. You can have a relaxing time with children. Another plus is the ice cream hut by the river. We'll be back.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. They serve good, traditional German cuisine, prepared with great attention to detail. The food was consistently delicious and fresh, just as you would expect. I would particularly like to highlight the beautiful ambiance; the cozy Black Forest house immediately creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel completely at home. We found the value for money to be absolutely fair. All in all, a successful visit, and we will definitely return.

Exceptional restaurant. Simple yet delicious and carefully prepared dishes. Excellent ingredients. Not your typical tourist spot. We tried the sausages, the pork cordon bleu, and the pike-perch. Everything was delicious. The staff was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They recommended an amazing dessert. We also purchased some products from the market and the bakery: delicious and authentic.

Delicious cakes from the bakery, available to take away or eat in. The restaurant serves good, Baden-style food, very tasty, but not exactly cheap. Very friendly service and a cozy, well-kept interior. It's a great place to bring guests; it has a Black Forest feel.

The food is super good. Products are very fresh and of high quality. BUT!! The service time is toooooo long. 45+ minutes for schnitzel and steak while the terrace is half empty isn’t normal. We were in the daytime. + There are plenty of flies outside, and eating in such company isn’t very pleasant. These points worsen the whole experience too much.

We went to the Geroldsauer Mühle with friends in July. It was a Thursday evening and not very busy. After our table was ignored for a long time, I went looking for menus. I asked the manager about them and whether there were English versions for our Irish friends. The manager replied "yes" and moved on to a table of friends/acquaintances and chatted warmly with them. This left me speechless. We continued to draw attention to ourselves until someone came to serve us. Everything else was unfortunately marred by the very slow and sluggish service. No joy!

A very beautiful mill with an inn, beer garden, mill shop, bakery, and butcher, as well as very nice rooms with breakfast and super friendly staff. We stayed for four nights in a room with a private terrace. We lacked nothing; it is very quiet and idyllically situated on the nearby Grobbach stream, which flows past the mill. Many excursion destinations, such as the Geroldsauer Waterfall, Gertelsbach Waterfall, Merkur Mountain Railway, Baden-Baden Game Reserve, Windeck Castle, Hohenbaden Castle Ruins, Battertfelsen Rock, Y Castle, and Baden-Baden itself, are all within a few minutes' drive.

I can't comment on the rooms, as we were "only" there for dinner. The service was top-notch, very friendly and attentive. The food was also very good. It's beautiful there with the fields in the background, the stream, and the watermill. The restaurant can't do anything about the road next door, but one less for that... sorry. But thank you so much for your hospitality and your food 🫶

A lovely beer garden located at a historic mill, with prices a bit high, reflecting its tourist appeal. There's no children's menu (they would have included fries, but the mountain cheese on the spaetzle tasted rather strong). A playground, parking lot, and a bakery are on site.

We always come to the Geroldsauer Mühle for breakfast when we arrive in Baden-Baden. Great atmosphere, excellent food, a glass-fronted bakery, a delicatessen, and a Black Forest exhibition upstairs. The location is very beautiful.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. It's more show than substance. It's truly beautiful, and if you want a coffee or a beer, it's quite acceptable. We went there for breakfast and were very disappointed. The price doesn't reflect the quality of the breakfast. Very unkind. The staff tries hard, but you can tell they've probably experienced some displeasure before. It's a real shame.
