After our visit to the Barberini Museum, we've been drawn back to the Genusswerkstatt for years – and every time it's a culinary highlight! The quality of the dishes impresses with creativity, freshness, and a taste that dances on the tongue. The service is warm and attentive, making every visit a special experience. Thank you for many enjoyable hours – we're already looking forward to our next visit!

On the warmest day of the year so far, I had a table reservation on the terrace. The welcome at the bar was friendly, and as soon as I walked up to the table, I was asked what I wanted to drink. The service staff remained at the top end of the scale throughout the evening. Fantastic. Fantastic food selection. Many daily specials, which were also presented on various boards. Although the restaurant was busy, the food didn't take very long to prepare. The food, in my case a classic carbonara, was delicious. A place to feel good, enjoy, and relax.

On the last day of my visit to Potsdam, I tried the Genusswerkstatt. The menu, supplemented by a daily special, is more than extensive and offers something for every taste, with a particularly large selection for vegetarians and vegans. The food itself is truly delicious and arrives at the table fairly quickly after ordering. Friendly service and fair prices round out my positive overall impression.

Very good food and a wide selection. Very friendly and fast service. We sat inside in the very warm summer weather, where it was as airy and cool as possible. A table of 12 people enjoyed various dishes and drinks in the early evening, and everyone was very full and very satisfied. A clear recommendation!

The name says it all. Super delicious and extremely well-seasoned. It's a shame we don't have anything like it in my hometown.

We reserved a table for breakfast online late the night before. We received a very friendly welcome, and the table was already set. Now that's what I call perfect organization. Everything was fresh and delicious, albeit way too much. However, you could certainly leave a note about this when making your reservation. 😊 In short: we were completely satisfied with a truly perfect breakfast in a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended. The prices were also reasonable.

Totally random stop, but super happy I walked in. Cozy little place with a chill vibe and really friendly staff. I wasn’t expecting much, but turns out they serve gluten-free pasta – either penne or spaghetti – and they’ve got a bunch of sauces and combos to choose from. It’s not a dedicated gluten-free spot, but they seem to take it seriously and my food came out without any issues.

Very good and nice restaurant, but the terrace could be a bit more secluded. The traffic and noise levels are a bit distracting. Otherwise, it's top-notch and highly recommended.

Everyone (7) really enjoyed the food. The only point deduction is for some of the small portions. A very varied menu with special offers.

Very tasty food and friendly staff

We came here for dinner and had made a reservation (there aren't too many tables). There were some daily specials at discounted prices, and there's an ice cream cart in the restaurant. We had tagliatelle with rabbit liver, which combined really great pasta with a rich sauce and great liver. The radiator pasta was a bit overcooked, but a great pasta shape. Unfortunately, the linguine with octopus had hardly any squid in it, just lots of tomatoes. The bobotie casserole was interesting and tasted like curried minced meat with an omelet topping. The cold, sweet chunney served with it was also quite good. I would come again.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food. I've tried to reserve a table at this restaurant twice now. I had the same employee on the phone both times. Both times, I was told the restaurant was fully booked and nothing was available. That's not a problem and does indicate a great location. But the way they communicated on the phone was rude. On the second call, I stated the day and time I wanted to reserve, and the employee on the phone immediately said, "No, I have to disagree. It's closed from 2:30 p.m. due to an internal event. I'm hanging up now because the restaurant is full. Bye." I couldn't say anything else before the beep rang and the call ended. I think that's incredibly unfortunate; it ruins any desire to try again when people talk like that on the phone. If the restaurant has nothing available and nothing can be booked online, the website shouldn't say "call us." Obviously, you're stressed out by the calls. I can only repeat, it's simply a shame. I have celiac disease and am always looking for gluten-free restaurants in my area. I've never been here, and it will probably stay that way for the time being.

Very hospitable and attentive condition

We liked the long wooden tables which enabled us to dine comfortably. The signature dish, homemade pasta was delicious. We also liked the truffle risotto and the slow-cooked lamb was tasty. The service was excellent.

Nice atmosphere, vegan but neither regional nor sustainable or organic products recognizable... The fish in the pasta and as brunch could be better prepared. Little offerings for children but very friendly staff.

Today I reserved a table online for breakfast on Sunday and then called directly to discuss a few organizational matters, as the reservation was linked to an invitation. Now the restaurant manager calls me two hours later after 9 p.m. and says that the reservation has to be canceled, that he has no more tables and can't bake any. I have rarely experienced such rudeness. This is not a service if the fault lies with the restaurant and no alternative options or solutions are offered. We were frequent guests at the Genusswerkstatt. Now you have lost us and our invited guests as customers - that is not how you treat guests. It's good that there are other good, service-oriented places in Potsdam.

We had a fantastic evening in the Genusswerkstatt! The service was excellent, the selection of drinks was perfect and the food was very tasty: we had spaghetti carbonara, tagliatelle with truffles, linguine with shrimps and penne with salsiccia! For dessert there was rhubarb crumble😋 Thank you for a lovely evening!

Nice, cosy restaurant with pleasant staff and delicious Italian food.

The waiter, an immigrant, discriminated against me for not being a German - raised his voice at me and ignored me when I wanted to pay - a German couple, when seeing that he was ignoring me, took action. The waiter didn't speak any English or ...he didn't want to. It was a very unpleasant experience for me especially as it was coming from ....not German!

Food, Service and Ambiance is great. Be prepared though when sitting inside that you'll smell like food afterwards. Totally worth it, but good to know none the less. Also: make a reservation.

Wow! What a (taste) experience! You can tell from the first moment that the staff do their job with absolute passion. Super friendly and attentive despite the full hut. All the dishes we ate during the evening impressed us in every way and were all very tasty and prepared with love. The portion sizes were sufficient. The menu offers a large selection of dishes, some of which are unusual (including many vegetarian and vegan). This restaurant is highly recommended and will definitely be visited again for dinner on our next Potsdam trip. A reservation is strongly recommended.

Because the tables were full, the host very kindly asked us to take a half-hour walk through Potsdam and then have a delicious meal. The combination of pasta dishes was exceptional but wonderful. The supposedly trendy restaurant didn't convince me. Uncomfortable seating and a service concept that suffers from a staff shortage. The time from ordering in the evening to handing over the food was far too long. We found the toilet facilities to be unreasonable, as they were narrow, outdated and unclean. Drinks too expensive in my opinion. Some of our food was mediocre, as it was poorly seasoned and partly drowned in sauces. It's a shame, it could definitely be better.

It started off promisingly. After a lovely Sunday we wanted to have an equally lovely dinner. The ambience in the GW is very well matched to the film city (Potsdam) Babelsberg. The service seemed a bit unstructured at first, but everything went well after the first order. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the food. I was really looking forward to the char with saffron risotto. The first surprise: the SAFFRON risotto was GREEN. A query to the waitress provided the solution. “We have already changed the recipe, but we haven’t updated the cards yet.” It was parsley risotto... I understood it acoustically, but I don't understand the content. That could have at least been said in advance. The char turned out to be a mini piece of fish that had been fried to death and whose origin could no longer be determined. My wife's LEMON risotto wasn't any better. Lemon could only be tasted homeopathically. Just like my own risotto, there was no trace of the parmesan we were expecting. Conclusion: Ambiance was good, service was just good, but the food was not acceptable for this price range.

Luckily I got a spot even without a reservation. The service was very friendly and attentive. I ordered black linguini with pulpo and toasted pancetta! The food came relatively quickly, was freshly prepared and extremely tasty 😋 Anyone who appreciates good food is in good hands at the Genusswerkstatt! A clear recommendation! But I think it's better to make a reservation 😉

The menu is very varied and also offers rather unusual dishes. Vegan cuisine is also represented. The food is very good, the portions are a bit large for my taste. The drink selection is appropriate. The service is good and courteous as well as very nice. We spent a lovely evening here. The restaurant is highly recommended! Reservation is recommended.

We ordered beef and chicken pasta. The meat was tender and the portions were quite sufficient and delicious. The drink is hot water with mint leaves and lemon slices, nothing special. There was only one waiter when we went, and he took good care of our needs and the service was very good.

Unfortunately not recommended. They try to present themselves as a restaurant with high-quality food, but then they have to be prepared to a high quality and unfortunately that didn't work. I ordered an entrecote medium fried, but I received a completely burnt, dry piece of meat. It can happen, so I complained and the steak was taken away immediately. I then waited a full 25 minutes for the second attempt (my companions had long since finished eating). And then it got ridiculous, the second steak was just as well done and dry as the first. I was just served and then ate it. We definitely won't be coming back. The highest quality was the prices…

Wir waren auf einem Sonntag zum Frühstück da und es war wirklich gut. Als wir reinkamen, war unser Tisch schon reichlich gedeckt und der Herr im Service war super nett, was man heutzutage nicht mehr so häufig erlebt.

It was difficult to find places my gluten intolerant friend and I (vegan) could both eat in Berlin. This place has a vegan menu and a whole selection of gluten-free pasta. My friend said it was the best gluten-free pasta she's ever had. And our server was wonderful, too. A win all around.

It was a little cold, which the friendly service couldn't help, but that made the stay a little less pleasant. But the rest was very nice, from the design to the food and drink. Everything very tasty! Thank you very much

The place is nice and cozy. Just a treat after the museum. Their specialty is Italian food. The food is fine, i tried Aglio e Olio Pasta, it was fine. I can come back here for a special occasion, but not a place I'll visit continuously. The prices are a bit high to be pasta, but overall is ok.

Heute wieder in der Genusswerkstatt. Service sowohl Speisen und Getränke ausgezeichnet. Ein Frühstück mit exklusiven Delikatessen, alles sehr schmackhaft und reichhaltig. Auch der Chai latte wird hier noch selbst aus Gewürztee hergestellt und nicht, wie sonst überall aus Pulver. Das grenzt schon an ein Sternerestaurant, mit einem ausgezeichneten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service jederzeit überaus gastorientiert und freundlich. Volle Punktzahl, es gibt absolut nichts zu .

Had reserved for 32 people as part of our MKC Templin cultural tour 2024. We were greeted in a friendly and courteous manner by the landlord. The table menu with a total of 8 different delicious Mediterranean dishes, previously coordinated with the Genusswerkstatt, was plentiful and somehow like eating with a large family. Guest service is very important here. A location to recommend.

My pasta were really great (Radiatori w/ beef) while my girlfriend meal (Milanese) was really canteen style and very disappointing. Service was a bit long - even to bring drinks (but a very big table came few minutes before us from what I witnessed) but they are nice.

Found on our last night, a hidden gem. Great food drinks and service. Reasonably priced. Big shared tables ideal for big groups.

Eating is an experience. We had a sensational meal. The staff is very friendly. Ambience...unfortunately you're sitting on the street but that's why I wouldn't want to miss out on the delicious food. We'll definitely be back.

Very, very bland food unfortunately, a bit too expensive for it, paying took a whopping 20 minutes because 10 pensioners in front of us all had to pay individually in cash, reluctantly again, even if we were simply victims of the circumstances.

A wonderful selection of different dishes, including: E.g. the pasta is still made in-house. There is also a selection of vegan dishes. The waiter was extremely friendly, informed and accommodating. When you talk about great gastronomy and hospitality, you talk about Genusswerkstatt. 😉 Despite it being lunchtime, they were friendly, fast and presented soul food of perfect quality. I loved every bite of my homemade tortellini. We all left the restaurant convinced that this restaurant is a gem in Potsdam.

If you come out of Barberini a little exhausted, the Genusswerkstatt is just around the corner. It has pleasant outdoor space and spacious, atmospheric interiors. The food is varied, fresh and tasty.

Hmm. Unfortunately the chocolate cake wasn't edible for me and had nothing to do with chocolate. Doesn't taste like chocolate and tasted like onion afterwards. My family also tested it and agreed with me because I already thought that my taste buds were wrong. Well, it's a shame about the 7€ (expensive prices but justified by inflation and the museum I guess) Service was very nice and the atmosphere was also cozy.

Ate a wonderful Rindergarpaccio (beef) with a glass of white. The staff was very nice and professional.

I was looking for a nice restaurant and found Genusswerkstatt. When I arrived I was surprised at how small the location is. In winter it can definitely get really tight. The service was super nice and attentive. I just had the feeling that they were understaffed and extremely stressed. This has a huge impact on the atmosphere. The drinks came quickly. However, the drinks were very small for the prices. Unfortunately the Aperol wasn't tasty. Way too watery. The menu is clear. However, the prices are shocking. It's just overpriced. The food tastes good. The portions are perfect. However, far too expensive. The dessert was just too small for the price. I felt a little cheated. Too bad. Overall it was a delicious dinner, which unfortunately was just too expensive.
