Creperie La Madeleine in Potsdam

My expectations were high I've eaten original galettes in Paris before. Bake some at home regularly. The atmosphere is beautifully rustic. The waitress was a bit annoyed and then it was OK but not anymore. The galette wasn't very crispy on the outside and was served with a simple and tasteless Emmental cheese. A few slices of Serrano ham on top. I lacked taste and sophistication. I know original galettes from France with special cheese and taste. I was a bit disappointed because I paid almost 20 EU with a drink. Was a bit too much for what I got. Price-performance is not very good.

Nice atmosphere, warm hosts, delicious food…. We regret that we live so far away 😌, otherwise we would be there more often. A highlight of your Potsdam vacation. Thank you 🤩

I ordered the Coq au vin dish and it was fantastic. The waiter was very nice.

Very tasty galettes (all vegetarian options available upon request). The service person was super nice and obviously experienced, which made the whole experience simply pleasant. What I also liked: The foreword to the menu mentions where the flour is sourced from and where their cider comes from. All in all, a relaxed, pleasant and delicious lunch. We'd love to come back.

The food, the wine/cider and the ambience (inside and outside) are simply wonderful. We have been here many times and enjoy coming here again and again, at any time of the year and sometimes with larger groups (you can reserve online, or ask by phone for larger groups) Keep it up and thank you 😊

We wanted to spend a few nice hours there today because of a birthday. So far I've only had good experiences. The food is really delicious. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed today... The sun was shining, so we spontaneously put two tables together. Shortly afterwards we were approached by the waitress in such an unfriendly tone, how dare we make this decision on our own. The tables and street would be destroyed - that's what they said. “Ratsch” did it and they were apart again. If everyone moved their table like the waitress, then definitely ;) I'm stunned by the unfriendliness of the service, since we really didn't have any bad intentions. Even in an argument, I don't speak like that to the person I'm talking to and this comparison means something. The surrounding guests looked at us with pity. We went because you don't want to spend hours there. Too bad for the birthday child... I will probably avoid this restaurant in the future. Ps: Even one star is too many. I'm really horrified.

Always worth a visit and has been for years. Spring, summer, autumn and even winter you always have a great time there with damn delicious crepes.

Wow, more than the food, which by the way is very good, I was delighted with the service of one of the waiters who was always super willing to serve us, and even tried to speak our language and that made it very special. Now yes, the delicious food , the spectacular desserts and the delicious atmosphere to spend an afternoon...

Actually one of our favorite restaurants in Potsdam, but we weren't quite as happy with the food the last two times. One of our plates wasn't really clean and something from the previous person was stuck to it🫣 With that being said, we were otherwise always super happy with the food and the service.

My recent visit to this crêperie in Potsdam was a mixed experience. The galettes, while decent, didn't stand out. The cheese used in the galettes was quite ordinary, lacking the distinct flavors one might expect from a crêperie. On a brighter note, the dessert was delightful. The moelleux au chocolat served with ice cream was a highlight, offering a rich and satisfying end to the meal. Overall, it's an okay spot for a casual meal, but there is room for improvement.

The food is okay. Very unfriendly and rxcixt staff. We were a international queer group, they refuse to show us the menu (we could order just sweet creps). Never had such a bad service in my live. Unless you are a white german from the suburbs I don’t recommend to go there. They are clearly buying good reviews.

A nice French restaurant. If you like crepes, they are available with wheat and buckwheat flour in different flavors. The staff is very friendly. There are a few steps up to the toilets, so not particularly good for those with walking difficulties.

“We’re full” was how I was greeted at the door, without any pleasantries, without asking if we had a reservation, and without any explanation as to why almost all of the tables were empty and couldn’t be used. I find this to be really poor customer service and I won’t be back!

Walk the door and travel to Brittany! Soups, quiches and crepes (both savory and sweet) are on the menu, and they are all incredibly well balanced and delicious! Me and my wife shared an onion soup in 2 (we wanted to make sure we had enough room for the savory crepes) and it was very tasty, yet quote light. After that, we got a mushroom, fresh cheese and spring onions crepe, and a beef carpaccio one, with arugula, emmental cheese and balsamic vinegar - both fantastic. We had some of the cider, also from the Breton region, which was very good! We closed our lunch with a sugar crepe with vanilla ice cream to share: in its simplicity, it was fantastic. The service was nice, the place is warm and welcoming. They can speak both German and English, no problem! We highly recommend to book in advance - their website has a great booking service for that. The only suggestion: please mark the items on the menu, so it's easier to know what is and what is not vegetarian or vegan! Nothing big of course, but it would be greatly appreciated! We will come back soon! 😊

Ich hatte das Galette mit Spargel, der Spargel war total verkocht, labbrig und geschmacklos. Der Lachs dazu von billiger Qualität. Das Personal unfreundlich und unwillig. Dafür muss ich in kein Restaurant gehen, dass geht zu Hause billiger und besser.

Very disappointing. We've known the creperie for a long time, but today's Galettes Complet Mushrooms was more than sobering: dry, 3 half slices of cooked ham made from pressed meat, a few crumbs of mushrooms, but plenty of cheese. The price-performance ratio is not right at all. We decided not to have a crepe. Service so là là - definitely deteriorated and no longer worth visiting for us. Very unfortunate

We were here twice. Great address, nice atmosphere. A huge selection of crepes and gallettes. We enjoyed it very much every time. The prices were super fair for the regional conditions, the staff was extremely competent and very, very friendly. We'd love to come back

Per Zufall hier gelandet weil das Ecklokal brummt und mit seinen Tischen draußen und drinnen sehr einladend wirkte. Volltreffer. 18.30 Uhr ohne Reservierung den letzten Tisch drinnen ergattert. Tolle offene Weine, Schwerpunkt Frankreich. Service prima, Weine lecker und die Crepes.... traumhaft. Mein Mann hatte 4 Käse, ich Ratatouille. Als Nachtisch teilten wir den besten crepes Suzette seit Jahren. Sehr empfehlenswert!

We tried Cheese, tomato, garlic and salami crepe here, it was delicious and felt like a healthy pizza. We also tried feta cheese, olives, pine nuts and sun-dried tomatoes crepe, it was sehr lecker. The staff was helpful and cheerful.

A nice little place with excellent Galletes and Crepes! We had 2 different Galletes and 2 different Crepes and they were all excellent, also prepared with top notch ingredients. Their ciders are among the best bottled ciders I’ve had! Despite the few tables they struggle with service, so be prepared for longer waits. Also don’t bother to try the phone for reservations, no one will answer.

A restaurant that you can visit sometimes, but you don't have to. The friendliness of the staff is ok, but accommodating and flexible is a bit more. Everything in the restaurant is a bit cramped and loud, and there are cameras hanging everywhere in the dining room. The food tastes good, is nicely prepared, but nothing for those who are really hungry at lunchtime. The portions are too manageable for that. For me it also lacked a bit of sophistication when it came to the spices. All in all, you can give it a try, but it won't be one of my favorite restaurants.

Great beer, onion soup a bit greasy, with Emmental cheese instead of French. Cheese such as Gruyere...also works...Coq au Vin...could have more flavors, the suckling pig cheeks were also ok, but needed even more flavors. Quiche was good. Service was nice, atmosphere was nice. Arrived unannounced at 4:45 p.m. and got a table.

We come regularly and enjoy our crepes! The four of us all have our favorite crepes! We like to take friends and acquaintances with us, who are generally enthusiastic! We'll be back and look forward to our savory crepes!

Definitiv der beste Wein unseres Wochenendes, Cidre auch hervorragend. Der Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, französisch.

Always delicious! Reservations are mandatory and then enjoy delicious crepes! Addition February 2024: one of my favorite restaurants in Potsdam for years. If I ever have a Brittany aches, then I've come to the right place: fresh ingredients and quick preparation... et voila, you're in Brittany when it comes to taste. Whether sweet or savory, I love all crepes and galettes. Add a cup of cider and I'm happy! The staff is always friendly, quick and attentive. It's always a pleasure to come back!

There are, among other things, savory and sweet crepe variants. I chose one made from buckwheat flour with chopped Angus beef, Emmental cheese, barbecue cream, radish sprouts and lamb's lettuce. Excellent! There is also a very good and varied offering for vegetarians. The service was friendly and attentive, we had a small dog with us who was immediately given a water bowl. We have fond memories of our visit here and would be happy to come back.

Super tasty, we especially fell in love with the galettes/buckwheat crepes. Come regularly. In winter if you can't sit outside you should make a reservation. It's very, very quaint, cozy, Breton. Everyone will find something for young and old.

Galette is very tasty, well priced, but that's just typical Potsdam. The quiche was terrible. Warmed up, dry and at the same time rubbery consistency. Luckily the quiche is really very small (approx. 120g?), so you don't have to spend too much time making it

The savory crepes are very tasty and filling, even the cheapest among them. We ordered the complete crepe and the mozzarella-tomato-pesto crepe and they were simply excellent. We were disappointed with the sweet crepe with the bitter Belgian chocolate: 1. The crepe is placed upside down on the plate and all the chocolate sticks to the plate, it's weird and annoying. 2. The chocolate is not very bitter to our taste. 3. The price for the value of the crepe does not match. The service is slow but the waitresses are very nice. Overall a good experience, the sweet crepes are not recommended.

I was incredibly impressed by the quality of the dishes and the freshness of the ingredients. The waiting time for food to be prepared was less than 20 minutes, which was very quick even though almost all tables were occupied. The manager himself was polite and very attentive. In addition, the wonderful atmosphere and interior design of the restaurant created a wonderful magic. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised, we will see each other again and again. I give a standing ovation. And I recommend it to everyone.

As a French person I can tell you that the crêpes were pre prepared and not made on the spot. They were very dry and not that tasty. However the atmosphere/decoration of the restaurant was nice.

They not only have great crepes but also amazing wine and desserts. I tried a vegetarian galette with cheese, champignons and onions. For dessert, crème brûlée ❤️

Rustikales Ambiente und eine riesige Auswahl an Crêpes! Die Qualität hat absolut überzeugt und wahrscheinlich muss man öfter herkommen, um alle Varianten zu probieren. Einzig, dass ich leider sehr lange warten musste, bis die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde und dann nochmal bis das Essen kam, sorgt für 1 Stern Abzug.

Das Restaurant ist sehr hübsch gelegen und gemütlich. Der Umstand, dass man nur für drinnen einen Tisch reservieren kann, ist wirklich schade und absolut nicht nachzuvollziehen… Warum hier so wenig Flexibilität? Im Gastraum läuft Radio; Berliner Rundfunk. Gibt’s da nicht was stimmungsvolleres? Der Service war sehr nett, allerdings dauert es auch, bis jemand an den Tisch kommt, wenn der Laden voll ist. -Wir mussten oft länger warten und auf uns aufmerksam machen. Personal nett, aber zu wenig da. Essen hat uns leider nicht überzeugt. Die Buchweizen- Galettes waren sehr trocken, das Ratatouille geschmacksarm. Das Brot mit Oliven und getrockneten Tomaten…. Langweilig, schmeckt wie aus dem Glas. Preise für die Leistung definitiv zu teuer.

Wer Crepes will MUSS hier rein. Süß oder herzhaft egal. Frisch lecker Qualität. Crepes wie beim Franzosen und ein Ambiente innen wie im Pariser Café. Nur eben mitten in Potsdam!

Essen gut bis lecker, Ambiente auch gut, auch wenn die 2er Tische recht ungemütlich gequetscht stehen und es durch die offene Küche sehr warm drinne n ist- lässt es sich im Sommer ja gut draußen sitzen. Was leider gar nicht ging, war der Service. Sowas übellauniges, pampiges hab ich lange nicht mehr erlebt. Das ist schade und verdirbt alles andere.

Vorab, der Service und das Team waren sehr nett! Die Crêpe sind sehr lecker. Jedoch denke ich, dass die Preise für das gebotene nicht passen. Deftige Crêpe für 15-20€ und süße für 5-10€ sind zum gebotenen Umfang der Speisen zu teuer. Ambiente nett und gemütlich.

Die kleine 'Creperie Francaise' hat es aber so richtig faustdick hinter den Ohren - ... Olala! Eine sehr umfangreiche Karte mit viel zu vielen Leckereien für einen Abend. Der Crêpe Tunisienne <molto lecker & Alter Schwede!> eine wahre Schmecksplosion für den Gaumen! ( Gedünstete Apfelwürfel mit Feigen, Honig, Walnusskernen und Mandelblättchen). Leider waren wir nur auf der Durchreise, aber wenn wir mal wieder in der Nähe sind ...! Merci beaucoup!

Wir waren mit Freunden essen. Die Käseplatte war sehr lecker und entspricht meines Erachtens einem Hauptgang, was den Preis von 12.90 völlig rechtfertigt. Wir saßen draußen unter einem Sonnenschirm und es war sehr gemütlich. Die Bedienung war höflich. Verweilen war jedoch nicht möglich, weil wir dann recht schnell zahlen sollten, weil wir nichts mehr bestellen wollten, aber noch teilweise Getränke hatten. Das war nicht so schön. Ansonsten ein sehr süßes Restaurant.
