I found the breakfast portions too small for the price, but the dinner was very tasty. The chairs inside are a bit too high, at least for me, which unfortunately makes sitting comfortably for long periods a bit uncomfortable.

The manager and the waitresses are always very friendly, nice, and very accommodating. The cleanliness is exemplary. Whether it's breakfast or lunch, everything is always delicious and fresh! I think the prices are reasonable. We always enjoy coming here and feel very comfortable!

One of my favorite cafes in Wiesbaden-Mitte for many years. The staff is always friendly and cheerful, the food is fresh and delicious (the cake counter is fantastic!!), and as a former long-established hair salon, the ambiance is also pleasing to the eye. A place to linger and feel good!

Warum auch immer hat es mich über Jahre nicht mehr ins Degenhardt verschlagen, obwohl ich dort früher gerne frühstücken oder auch Kaffe trinken war. Spontan bin ich mit einer Freundin mal wieder dort gelandet, da wir dort auch mit dem Kinderwagen Platz haben und seitdem kommen wir regelmäßig zum Mittagessen. Die normale Karte bietet bereits eine riesige Auswahl und es gibt immer Specials. Von der Kartoffelsuppe über das Curry bis zum Salat war bislang alles sehr gut. Preis-Leistung stimmt und das gleichbleibende freundliche Personal spricht für sich.

I find the ambience to be something very special, a nice atmosphere that makes you feel good. The location right on the green Luisenplatz is great - right in the middle and still quiet! Not a lot of background noise, so you can have a good conversation. The salads, pasta and coffee are very tasty and also beautifully presented. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. You can see the love and huge commitment that Ms. Mehmeti puts into her guest work. It's great that the Gastwerk exists - good luck!

Truffle linguine or spaghetti was a disappointment in terms of taste, sauce only tasted like mild cream, seasoning was almost a must, noodles were okay but didn't seem homemade, it was another case of "things look more promising on social media" 20€ are absolutely not justified for the taste and the portion, but "normal" for restaurant prices, staff nice service very fast. (Addendum) to the concept of paying what you think is right, it was explained on site as if it applies more to people in need, e.g. seniors, in no way in the sense of satisfaction, the explanation and body language seemed to urge you to listen to the restaurant's “suggestion”. Simple psychology, albeit unintentional, allows the customer to avoid an unpleasant situation by paying the desired amount in order to end the ongoing situation as quickly as possible. Maybe explain it more neutrally in the future.

So first of all, the service was super friendly and had a very positive attitude, but it took an extremely long time to take our order and it took almost 15 minutes to bring us a coffee and a latte machiato. In addition, the latte came much later than the coffee. The second point I have to criticize about the service is that we came into the store at 5 p.m. and asked straight away whether the kitchen was open and we were answered with “we close at 6 p.m.” And we were told this again before our order was taken, that the shop closes at 6 p.m., but you could still order something to eat. That doesn't make any sense to me, then you should close the kitchen at 5 p.m. and not give the guests the feeling that they have to cram everything in within 20 minutes when the waitress alone took too long to welcome us and the Kaiserschmarrn that we ordered took far too long... which is why the food only got 2 stars because the Kaiserschmarrn was cut into pieces that were far too large and was burnt far too much. On the whole, we were very dissatisfied because we were simply not received in a friendly manner and we were always made to feel like we had to hurry because people just wanted to get off work. We would have liked to try the food, which is why we went there. But as already mentioned, we felt very unwelcome and there will be no next time for us.

I was there yesterday morning on a Saturday and even though it was full, the waitress was quick to seat us after a few minutes. The breakfast was delicious and also good to look at. I also found the concept of guessing and then paying quite funny, it awakened my natural ambition and of course, as always, I won haha ​​not only with an enchanting breakfast, but also with a reasonable price. We were there at coffee time and I had a delicious homemade lemonade. Some had cake and it was delicious. My espresso was really good too. The furnishings are beautiful and special and you sit very comfortably. The Degenhardt has everything a favorite café needs. Also very charming service crew.

I still have 2 suggestions for improvement: If the rooms are almost empty, I would like to choose my seat and not have to sit near the door. A second slice of salami or a second slice of cheese would be more appropriate on the breakfast plate than 5-6 different types. I can't eat bread with a slice of salami. We'd love to come back.

I think that the restaurant is generally really above average. The dishes were at least very good and tasty. But we obviously had a very busy day and had to wait over an hour for our food. During this time there was no information or greeting from the kitchen or bar.

Das Degenhardt hat sich in puncto Küche enorm weiterentwickelt. Als wir vor einigen Monaten mal einen Blick auf die Speisekarte geworfen hatten, machte das wenig Lust. Im Vergleich dazu bewegt sich das aktuelle Speisenangebot in einer ganz anderen Dimension – und es schmeckt auch. Die Burrata mit Gemüse als Vorspeise war sehr schön, so auch die hausgemachten Spaghetti mit Vongole, die sehr gekonnt abgeschmeckt waren, und der butterzarte Pulpo, bei dem wir lediglich die Salbei-Kartoffelcréme eine Spur zu milchig-sahnig fanden. Die wirklich mächtige Portion beim Kaiserschmarrn fanden wir etwas übertrieben – aber: besser so, also zu klein. Der Espresso war top und auch die beiden offenen Weißweine vom Weingut Kampf fanden wir für diese Preisklasse wirklich sehr überzeugend. Überhaupt muss man sagen, dass die Preise angesichts der relativ teuren Grundprodukte, die hier zum Einsatz kommen, und der nicht unaufwändig angerichteten Teller mehr als fair sind. Der Service war flott und sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente ist angenehm. Mit ein bisschen mehr Licht auf den Tischen, käme das Essen besser zur Geltung, aber das ist eher eine Nebensächlichkeit. Alles in allem: Volle Punktzahl – mehr kann man in dieser Preisklasse nicht erwarten. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend und werden wieder kommen.
