Gutes Essen! Zügige Bedienung, auch im Aussenbereich.

Das Essen war köstlich, nur die Sitzplätze drinnen und draußen mit den Rauchern waren etwas störend. Der Rauch zog ins Restaurant. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

Ein wahres Juwel für Liebhaber der griechischen Küche! Bei meinem letzten Besuch war ich besonders begeistert vom Gyros. Das Fleisch war perfekt mariniert, saftig und zart. das Ambiente ist ebenfalls super schön und angenehm. ich komme immer wieder gern!

Wir waren sehr erstaunt, innerhalb von 30 Minuten einen Tisch für 6 Personen reservieren zu können. Leider war unser Kellner unterirdisch!!!! Bei der Ersten Schnapsrunde, hielt er uns völlig angemerkt das Tablett hin und drehte sich weg. Geht schonmal garnicht! Die Vorspeise war wirklich gut und heiß. Dann haben wir ewig auf 5 Portionen Gyros und 1× Leber gewartet. Und als es dann endlich kam, war das Fleisch kalt. Immer noch egal, weil es eine gemütliche Runde war. Nächste Schnapsrunde war dann wohl wieder zu viel..... Dann die Frage, ob alles ok war. Ich habe habe bemängelt, dass es gut war aber leider kalt.... Daraufhin durften wir dann nochmal extra lange aufs zahlen warten. Ergebnis: kein Trinkgeld und nie wieder!! Tut Euch das nicht an!!

Im Großen und Ganzen war alles gut, nur der Oktopus war verbrannt und die Portionen klein.

Hier werden wohl meinem Amschein nach nur Stammgäste bevorzugt. Wir waren zu zweit und haben sage und schreibe 1,5 Std. gewartet bis unsere bestellte Vorspeise(Oliven! Was ist daran so schwer?) bekamen. Keine 5 Min. später kam dann das Hauptgericht (alles auf einmal?). Viele der Stammgäste (merkt man daran dass der ältere Herr sich äußerst bemüht um die Personen) hatten schon längst ihr essen, obwohl diese später kamen wie wir! Auf unsere Frage ob man ins evtl. vergessen habe bekamen wir äußerst patzig die Antwort, dass man doch sehe das voll ist und alles frisch zubereitet werde. Auf die Aufforderung doch wenigstens nach 1 Std. Wartezeit die Oliven zu bekommen kam nur: wird schon noch kommen . Das Essen war nichts besonderes, im Gegenteil, geschmackloses Salatdressing, Fleisch war zäh. Aber absolut unhöflich fand ich dass der ältere Herr sich ständig über uns sich drüberbeugte und mit dem jüngeren Herrn - welcher draußen sich unterhielt und bediente- lautstark unterhielt , teilweise schrie und über unsere Köpfe die Speisen nach draußen reichte . Das war sehr unangenehm, hat den Herrn aber nicht interessiert. Also ganz ehrlich mein Fazit: wenn du kein Stammgast bist meide diesen Griechen ! Schade eigentlich da das Ambiente recht nett war u d das Restaurant nicht so groß

Unser bevorzugter Grieche in guter Lage in der Innenstadt Frankfurt. Sehr leckeres Essen zu angemessenen Preisen. Service ist gut und Aufmerksam. Reservierung ist empfohlen da immer gut besucht und nur beschränkte Kapazitäten.

Haben einfach meine Bestellung storniert ohne mir Bescheid zu geben, ein absolutes NOGO!!!! :-(

Ein Stück Griechenland im Herzen von Frankfurt! Wir waren gestern Abend in der Taverna Alexander’s und sind absolut begeistert. Wer authentische griechische Küche in einer gemütlichen, fast schon familiären Atmosphäre sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das Essen: Wir hatten die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte und den Mixgrill. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart, saftig und perfekt gewürzt. Besonders die gegrillten Champignons und das frische Tzatziki sind ein Muss! Die Portionen sind mehr als großzügig – man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gekocht wird. Der Service: Trotz der zentralen Lage und des hohen Gästeaufkommens war das Team unglaublich aufmerksam, herzlich und schnell. Man fühlt sich nicht wie ein anonymer Gast, sondern wie bei Freunden willkommen geheißen. Das Ambiente: Die rustikale Einrichtung mit der Steinmauer gibt dem Lokal einen ganz besonderen Charme. Es ist bodenständig, sauber und einfach gemütlich. Fazit: Ein fantastisches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis direkt an der Staufenmauer. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! Ein kleiner Tipp: Am Wochenende sollte man unbedingt vorher reservieren, da es (zurecht) sehr beliebt ist. Vielen Dank an das Team für den tollen Abend! 🇬🇷🍷

Wir waren als Paar schon sehr oft griechisch essen: diverse GR-Aufenthalte, viele griechische Restaurants in mehreren Städten in D. Hier gibt es sehr gute Mixed Grill Teller und andere schöne Speisen. Sehr gutes Essen und freundlicher Service. Gern wieder.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Wir haben das wohl authentischste griechische Restaurant in Deutschland gefunden. Perfekter Service und vor allem authentischer griechischer Geschmack. Ach, zum Glück ist der Hauptgang noch gar nicht da, während ich das hier schreibe. Der sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Ein großes Lob an die Inhaber!

Leider wurde auf unsere Reservierung gar nicht reagiert, zumindest eine Antwort mit Ablehnung wäre kundenorientiert und respektvoll.

Super Service, top Essen und faire Preise, sowie gute Portionen. Komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Affordable Greek Restaurant Near the Station I visited this restaurant because I wanted to eat gyros. It's a small restaurant located along the road. I started off by ordering a platter of cháčki and grilled meats. And a beer 🍺 I'd been here before and knew it was delicious. The cháčki here is absolutely delicious 😋 The garlic and herbs are used exquisitely, and it pairs perfectly with the accompanying bread. The gyros are thickly sliced, making them very juicy and satisfying 😀 The platter is generously portioned, so the flavor and volume are both satisfying. However, they don't accept cards, so you'll need cash, but there's a Commerzbank nearby, so cash payment should be no problem. Next time, I might try the fish dish.

I've ordered twice through Wolt for two people, and both times the order was declined. This is what service looks like! Never again!

Usually, when I come back from a Greek restaurant, I'm more than full, but here, my partner and I weren't really full because the portions were really small. It's a shame, really. The price/performance ratio isn't right, unfortunately.

Good experience in general BUT the food was not the best greek one I tried and the waiter during the payment (ONLY CASH) didn't give us the correct rest.

We were a group of 6 adults and a baby. The drinks arrived quickly, but we had to wait 45 minutes for the food. They brought only 5 salads, and one of us had to wait for the sixth who never came. I also ordered 5 empty pitas, but they only gave us 2. The food arrived just when we were about to leave. In the end I tried to pay the €189 bill by card, they told me they only accept cash – something we weren’t informed about earlier. Luckily, my brother had some cash on him. Overall, the service needs serious improvement.

I've been in Frankfurt for 33 years now and I didn't know what a delicious Greek restaurant there was here. We received a very friendly welcome, even though our table reservation didn't arrive. The menu is small and fine and everyone should find something to suit their taste. The service is exceptionally attentive and you immediately feel at home. The food was just a very positive surprise. As a starter we had baked sheep's cheese and then we had grilled gyros with fries. All in all you can only give this place five stars! From the service to the food, everything is just right and I highly recommend it!

If you like Greek food and the appropriate music, this is the place for you. The service is friendly, the food is freshly prepared and served sufficiently warm.

Pleasant atmosphere. But the prices have skyrocketed so much (e.g. Bifteki-simple meatball with sheep's cheese over €20) that I will rarely go there anymore.

Was there on a Saturday at lunchtime, the restaurant was full inside and outside. The ambience was pleasant. An older and a younger gentleman (Adonis type) served. Ordered gratinated eggplant and gratinated sheep's cheese. After about an hour the food came, the sheep's cheese was ok, the eggplant was tasteless. The prices there are relatively high. Payment with cash only.

Had 2x pork loin with mushroom sauce and 1x bifteki. Pork loins were noticeably overcooked, difficult to cut, difficult to chew and very dry. Mushroom sauce was ok. Bifteki was good, but the cheese always squeezed out. The tzatziki that came with it was good but not enough. For both dishes, fries would have needed half a minute or a full minute in the deep fryer. The side salads were ok, only the balsamic cream could have been saved. Price-performance is a bit too bad for the food on offer. The selection of dishes is relatively small, but it's ok. Ambiance is not that nice when compared to other typical Greek restaurants. Service was good.

Food was good and tasty. There is one star deduction for the tzatziki: unfortunately there wasn't enough garlic in it. Service was ok. When paying, the surprise came: cash only! It's shocking that in 2025 there will still be stores that don't accept card payments... Unfortunately there was no information about this on the menu or when ordering! 🤷‍♂️ Unfortunately not an option!

It was my first time ordering here and all 3 dishes were missing the specified tzatziki. For 57 euros, the quality delivered can almost be described as a rip-off.

Because this place is hyped by many, we had to go there. We were there for lunch on Saturday, half an hour after it opened and ordered gyros. First came the salad plate, which a sensible dressing would make worlds better, so it was just a listless salad with almost no dressing. Then we had grilled pepperoni, unfortunately they didn't see a grill, but they were sprinkled with a sour and cheap balsamic cream. What does “balsamic vinegar” have to do with grilled pepperoni? Olive oil and lots of garlic should have been on there. Then came the gyros, not bad, but not good either, just lukewarm mediocre. The tzatziki doesn't live up to its name either, too little garlic and no cucumber. The only good thing was the fries, which seemed like they were homemade. So we don't have to go there again.

Taverna Alexander in Frankfurt offers an excellent Greek cuisine experience. Everything I tried was really delicious, from the starters to the main course. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic recipes that reflect the rich flavors of the Greek tradition. The portions were generous and the presentation of the food was attractive. The atmosphere in the taverna was friendly and welcoming, reminiscent of a traditional Greek taverna. The service was quick and polite, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable.

Small Greek restaurant hidden in an alley behind Konstablerwache. Friendly service and delicious food. Large portions that tasted good. Due to the full house for the football game, we waited a little longer for the food, but that was absolutely justified.

Overall impression: Taverna Alexander's in Frankfurt an der Konstablerwache is a charming little tavern hidden in a side street that offers a cozy and authentic Greek atmosphere. With some seating outside and a cozy interior, you immediately feel welcome. Service: The service is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The staff responds to customers' wishes and ensures that you feel like you are in good hands. Another plus point is that the main dishes are served quickly. There are hardly any waiting times, which makes the visit very pleasant. Starter: To tide you over until the main course, a fresh salad is served consisting of lamb's lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and a touch of balsamic vinegar. The salad is crisp and the slight acidity of the dressing gives it a refreshing touch. Main courses: The main courses are served “HOT”, which is particularly noteworthy. Hot food brings out the flavors better and makes the meat taste particularly good. We had the Mixgrill twice and a Wiener Schnitzel style once. Both dishes were excellently prepared. The meat was juicy, not burnt and flavorful. As a side dish there were either crispy fried potatoes or fries, which also tasted very good. The portion sizes are more than reasonable for the price and provide excellent value for money. Payment options: Definitely a minus point and in 2024 it will remain a secret of the location why only cash payment is possible. At least this “problem” is pointed out when making a reservation by telephone. Conclusion: All in all, our visit to Taverna Alexander's was extremely satisfactory. The combination of friendly service, quick food and delicious dishes makes this restaurant a real insider tip in Frankfurt. We will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Service ain't good Everything else is alright

When we were looking for dinner we thought Greek would always work. And since we were nearby we ended up in Alexander's Tavern. And everything was perfect, nice atmosphere, nice staff and the food was a dream. Everything is included in the mixed platter and tastes very tasty. We would be happy to come back the next time we visit Frankfurt.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were enchanted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. But the real highlight of the evening was the service, especially the charming boss, whose attractive charisma was only surpassed by his professionalism and hospitality. The food was simply heavenly. Every dish was perfectly prepared, from the delicious meze to the perfectly grilled calamari. We were particularly impressed by how the boss personally came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening for two or want to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends, you've come to the right place. A unique experience not to be missed! 5 Stars!

An authentic piece of Greece almost directly at the Konstablerwache. You can sit outside and inside the large windows can be pushed wide open. Very nice and fast service. Well attended until late in the evening. We ate very, very tasty food. I have never eaten souflaki so tender. Plus a delicious retsina and finally a Greek mocha. Thank you for the lovely evening.
