The food was good, and the atmosphere was really friendly. The only thing was that it took a bit long to prepare the food and the apetizer was served with the main food.

I had dinner at your place today with my boyfriend and we were very positively surprised by the food! It tasted incredibly delicious. The meat was juicy and the fries were huge! Yummy Yummy Yummy!! The tzatziki could have been a little more, but overall just WOW!!!

Small Greek restaurant hidden in an alley behind Konstablerwache. Friendly service and delicious food. Large portions that tasted good. Due to the full house for the football game, we waited a little longer for the food, but that was absolutely justified.

Overall impression: Taverna Alexander's in Frankfurt an der Konstablerwache is a charming little tavern hidden in a side street that offers a cozy and authentic Greek atmosphere. With some seating outside and a cozy interior, you immediately feel welcome. Service: The service is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The staff responds to customers' wishes and ensures that you feel like you are in good hands. Another plus point is that the main dishes are served quickly. There are hardly any waiting times, which makes the visit very pleasant. Starter: To tide you over until the main course, a fresh salad is served consisting of lamb's lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and a touch of balsamic vinegar. The salad is crisp and the slight acidity of the dressing gives it a refreshing touch. Main courses: The main courses are served “HOT”, which is particularly noteworthy. Hot food brings out the flavors better and makes the meat taste particularly good. We had the Mixgrill twice and a Wiener Schnitzel style once. Both dishes were excellently prepared. The meat was juicy, not burnt and flavorful. As a side dish there were either crispy fried potatoes or fries, which also tasted very good. The portion sizes are more than reasonable for the price and provide excellent value for money. Payment options: Definitely a minus point and in 2024 it will remain a secret of the location why only cash payment is possible. At least this “problem” is pointed out when making a reservation by telephone. Conclusion: All in all, our visit to Taverna Alexander's was extremely satisfactory. The combination of friendly service, quick food and delicious dishes makes this restaurant a real insider tip in Frankfurt. We will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Service ain't good Everything else is alright

When we were looking for dinner we thought Greek would always work. And since we were nearby we ended up in Alexander's Tavern. And everything was perfect, nice atmosphere, nice staff and the food was a dream. Everything is included in the mixed platter and tastes very tasty. We would be happy to come back the next time we visit Frankfurt.

Was there with 6 people, received a friendly welcome even though we arrived a little late and the food was great. The staff also speaks English and the owner gave us great advice about gluten and allergies.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were enchanted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. But the real highlight of the evening was the service, especially the charming boss, whose attractive charisma was only surpassed by his professionalism and hospitality. The food was simply heavenly. Every dish was perfectly prepared, from the delicious meze to the perfectly grilled calamari. We were particularly impressed by how the boss personally came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening for two or want to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends, you've come to the right place. A unique experience not to be missed! 5 Stars!

An authentic piece of Greece almost directly at the Konstablerwache. You can sit outside and inside the large windows can be pushed wide open. Very nice and fast service. Well attended until late in the evening. We ate very, very tasty food. I have never eaten souflaki so tender. Plus a delicious retsina and finally a Greek mocha. Thank you for the lovely evening. Cash only!

We were here about 3 weeks ago. It was full, but a spot was quickly made available for us outside under the heated umbrella. The service was really warm and, above all, quick. However, it didn't seem fake, it was as if we were personal guests here. The food is in the middle category in terms of price, if you add starters for each person, and we needed that too, then you get around €100 for drinks for three people. The only negative thing was that no card payment was possible and we didn't know that in advance. You should know that beforehand. Conclusion, absolutely recommended, and you should definitely reserve in advance for Saturday evening.

Today I was in the mood for Greek food again and the only option for us was Taverna Alexander's. The food is super tasty but the service is also just perfect. Always in a good mood, friendly and accommodating. Drinks come quickly and the food comes without a long wait. You feel like you're with good friends. Try it yourself. And guys, it's a tavern, so it's simply furnished with a few tables. But that's totally okay. And you can also have an understandable conversation. By the way, we had bifteki and gyros and it was very tasty and there was nothing to complain about. Vegetarians will find a large selection of meals.

Very nice restaurant, a little hidden on a small street.

Simply bomb, we were more than satisfied. The food is simply first class the stars don't even come close to the rate for the food. The service ? I want that in all restaurants, very accommodating and totally happy and friendly. The ambience ? Please people just convince yourself, you won't regret it at all.

We called for a table for four on a Saturday evening. As told, we came by 1h later and in 30 min we had a table. Food is delicious and authentic. Service was great. The waiters are kind, we got served fast and everything got to the table what we ordered. Price quality ratio is a bit off. Main dishes and some of the appetizers are well-priced. A basket of bread is served for the appetizers (on the house). At the end of the meal, customers get a digestive (on the house) and we have seen the (assumed) owner sit with the guests and chat. This took us right back to the good Greek hospitality and love for food and dining. The four reasons for the 2 stars: 1. Tsipouro and the price of the 0.2l bottle. We ordered Ouzo and Tsipouro. Ouzo Plomari 0.2L came at the price of €17.50. 3x the retail price (4-5€/bottle), not unusual for Frankfurt. When we asked for Tsipouro and if they have a bottle instead of 2cl (nothing else on the menu), the waiter told us yes of course and brought out Idoniko tsipouro. Without thinking we took the bottle. It was really partially our fault assuming it’s priced the same as the ouzo (although a quick informing from the waiter that the price is 35€ would have been nice). When we saw the bill for 35€/bottle, we asked why?! The response from the (I assume) owner was: “I get the bottle for €14,50 because it’s a special item coming from an island in Greece….”. We travel every year 1-2x to Greece (specifically islands), eat all the time in Greek restaurants all around Europe where we drink the same brands, buy these specific bottles for home and NEVER seen the 0.2 bottle for more than 8€ consumer retail (moves between €3,50 and €7,95 for regular consumers in Germany). Two possibilities: the owner has no real knowledge about the product pricing and the supplier makes a hefty profit, or he surcharges at least 7x of the purchase price of the good. 2. The greek salad has such potential, but so disappointing. The tomatoes are slushy and have no flavour, tasted like cardboard. Now I understand it’s the middle of winter, but if consumers can get flavourful, ripe tomatoes, so can restaurants, especially for €14,50. 3. Tzatziki and the portion. €4.50 for a tablespoon of tzatziki is way overpriced, compared to the fact that a huge portion of sardines with sides costs €11.50. 4. No fully home made Dolmadakia. We were really sad about this, but not unusual for Germany. All in all, DEFINITELY worth a visit because of how delicious and authentic most of the dishes are. Unfortunately, it is just not something for us, due to the four reasons. Maybe we will give it another chance in the future, but not in the foreseeable one.

We had a bad experience . We ordered a veal chop and they brought us pork steak . Which was also undercooked . The waiter insisted that the pork is also preferred like that in Frankfurt . After that we also had to pay in cash since there was no POS available .

Sehr liebes und nettes Personal. Gute Auswahl auf der Karte und lecker gekocht. Ambiente ist top, untypisch griechisch. Preise sind top für das Essen und die Lage in der Frankfurter Innenstadt. Abends ist es sinnvoll bei größeren Gruppen zu reservieren. Alle anderen Größen bekommt das Team so organisiert. Immer gerne wieder.

Leckeres Essen, faire Preise, herzlicher Service. Einzig am Ambiente könnte man noch etwas arbeiten.

Am Wochenenden zu 90% ausgelastet. Bier von Fass ist eine klare Vorteil, vor allem zu angenehmen Preis. Fleischteller ist zehr lecker, und ebenso hat eine Große Portion Mänge. Dorado Fisch hat sehr gesunde und leckere Beilage.

Nettes Restaurant, gut besucht auch Wochentags. Hatte ein Gyros mit Pommes und Zaziki. Leider Zaziki nur in einer Mini Portion, im Verhältnis zum Fleisch und leider keine Zwiebeln. Fleisch war gut gewürzt, Zaziki war auch lecker. Würde hier wieder essen gehen, auch wenn das Umfeld gewöhnungsbedürftig ist.
